He's a great teacher, and very fair with his grades. If you're willing to work relatively hard, you'll get an "A" in his class (I did!). I had him for College Composition; if you must take that class, I highly recommend you select Professor Nicholas.

If you really liked high school, take his class. That's how he runs it. There's a strict attendance policy, a seating chart and the general way he runs it was a huge reminder of why I hated high school. He's a nice man and knows what he's talking about.. but the class was miserable.

Professor Nicholas is a great Professor. He has a great method of teaching. I've learned alot about writing essays in his class. He is always there to help you one on one.

In regards to the negative remarks on Professor Nicholas, I want to set the record straight. He is upfront, right from the start, as to what is expected from the students. As others have stated, he goes out of his way to assist students. It is up to the students to put in an honest effort to do well. He is, in my book, an exceptional professor.

I can only hope that in my future classes, there will be more instructors that follow in the steps of his work ethics. Communication plays a big part in being able to offer the help that is needed He goes well above and beyond what is expected of him to assist his students.

We say we want professor's that's real and down to earth will this is your guy. He's creative, fun and will go beyond the call of duty to assist you to get you to understand. The attendance chart didn't make me feel like I was in high school,it was his was to personalize his classroom. My best instructor ever real cool

Ah, what can I possibly say about this prof? He's simply an amazing person&prof. Very motivational, inspiring + amusing w/great energy. I'm going to take again. Never a dull moment. @ some comments, the only time there was an seating arrang is for the first couple of classes just so he can remember your name. Then you're free to move as you like.

In all my years of school, he's the best teacher I've ever had. This class looked at characters in literature and discussed their motivation - something everyone should learn to do in everyday life to develop understanding and empathy. Made me look at things from different points of view. Be prepared to participate. He was funny and made you think.

Excellent Professor! Hands down, one of the best I've had. Mr. Nicholas truly cares about his students and his passion for writing is evident in his teaching. He covers all aspects of writing and helps those who have difficulty without making anyone feel dumb or ignorant. Great class, great teacher!

Listen here all you Mr. Nicholas haters...when you decide to grow up and want to come to school...not just because mommy & daddy are making you come...then you can speak your mind...This man is an incredible person...he is more than willing to work with you and genuinely cares about his students...he is the best teacher I have ever had!!!!

If you truly want to learn, not only to become a better writer but to understand yourself, I recommend his Creative Writing Class. He demands work and attention, but in return, he draws out a creativity that most of us don't know exists within ourselves. Sensitive to the needs of his students, his door and heart are always open to his students.

Great teacher and a great man. He enjoys working with students and wants you to succeed. I misspelled an author several times in an essay and he did not beat me up for it. He also does not assign any more work than your average English teacher. Take him!

Professor Nicholas is an awesome teacher, hands down. I challenge anyone to find a more caring, helpful, and compassionate teacher. He truly cares about every one of his students. Finishing EN 110 now, just registered for his EN 111 class for Spring. He has a great sense of humor, and if you work hard and attend class regularly, you will succeed.

As long as you do the work, come to class and participate in discussions, you'll really enjoy the class! Prof. Nicholas shows a real passion for teaching about poetry, drama and short stories. He's the bomb and is highly recommended! Loved the class!

Unlike a lot of professors, he cares about how well you do and really wants you to succeed in writing ad in his classes. Very caring and funny. Easy to get along with. Definitely recommend.

the class was eng 111, so lots of reading. he seems rough around the edges, which is more of expansions of creativity. his class was awesome i never thought i would learn so much from an english class. after the daily quizes to ensure you were reading were the discussions that got pretty heated at times (most enjoyable). overall can't do than him.

This is by far the best english course i've ever taken. Mr. Nicholas care about his students! Anyone looking to fly through this class however don't bother showing up. Mr.Nicholas care for his students but he doens't just give out good grades, you have to work for them. Very fun and uderstand teacher!So worth having to come to school on saterday

Excellent Professor. Is willing to work with you if you are having a problem with writing your essays. Is very patient, had him for EN110 also. Very funny but means what he say. Received an "A" in both classes.

Hands down the best professor at ECC. Just finished his EN111 class after first taking his EN110 class in the Fall. I was able to get an A in both classes, but if you think he's just going to pass high grades out, think again. There's a reason why his classes are always full to capacity. Just an absolutely great teacher and even better human being.

Took his 111 class a few semesters ago, I loved the class and did really well. It's not a class you can slack in effort is really important. I love his passion for what he does it truly shows. One of the things I will always remember is when he told us is to make sure that we love what we do when we choose our career, otherwise it is not worth it.

I love this guy! He really helps to wake you up, especially if you have a morning class because hes really funny! His class is pretty easy, but you definatly need to be there in order to pass. There's no tests in the class other than a research paper at the end, which, min my opinion isn't a big deal. Homework is just one two paged essay per week. It may sound like a lot, but it's really not and you get used to it. He has a high rating for a reason, so I'd say if you like English, please take his class.

Mr. Nicholas is a great teacher and a great guy. Well respected by all of his students. Definitely worth taking this class with him, especially if you are not a strong writer as he will do anything necessary to help his students succeed.

Absolutely amazing! He's the best teacher I've had so far. Took him for 2 semesters, and I definitely won't regret taking his classes. Mr. Nicholas encourages class participation, which is great. He made what was a boring subject for me somewhat interesting. Do the work and you'll get an A. Also, he's a very humorous and easy going guy.

I enjoy having him as a professor i have since my freshman year and weather it is English or public speaking he has done an amazing job. He is very respectful to his students just dont disrespect him. He is always there to talk and help and is always willing to e-mail even though he hates cell phones and modern technology! I had Professor Nicholas in Spring of 2015. We often run into one another in the hallway, and he calls me by name as we chat about short stories. He's funny, sharp, and up for anything creative. Take him; you won't regret it.

By far my favorite teacher/professor I've had in my entire school career. I took his EN 110, EN 111, and PS and it was so worth it. I didn't need any more English classes but because I liked him so much, I took public speaking. He is very fair with his students and if you take the time to give him quality work you'll get a good grade. Take him!

Do not miss classes. Do your assignments and make sure you proofread or check your essays with someone else. This class was not a problem. Make sure you do the final project which is the most important one.

Unfortunately for me, Prof Perry was sidelined by a health concern early in the semester and never returned. That being said, going from him to his replacement made me appreciate (and miss) him that much more. Wonderful man, pleasant teacher.

Professor Nicholas is very sweet, he's a nice person and his class was enjoyable. He gives you plenty of time to write your essays and his in class discussions help with topic ideas. He also goes over common grammatical errors and even though I thought I was a good writer before, I've still learned a lot!

Professor Nicholas has been my favorite teacher by far this semester. He has a wonderful sense of humor, which keeps the class light and fun! On a day when we had lots of snow and only a few people showed up, the professor bought us a pizza to enjoy while we had class! It's easy to tell that the professor teaches because it's what he loves to do!

One of my favorite teachers. He took a subject that i have usually struggled with and made it fun and with taking. He gives out clear instruction on what he expects and gives more than enough time to complete any assignment given. He is exactly what kind of teacher everyone needs to have at least once in their life.

Professor Nicholas is absolutely wonderful! He is very clear in the beginning of he semester as to what is expected of you, and will stick to exactly that plan for the whole semester. He has a great sense of humor and makes coming to class exciting by provoking interesting conversation and creating an environment everyone can feel comfortable in.

Perry Nicholas is a great guy in general. He has a great demeanor and establishes a strong connection with his students for their success. He can be stern at times that he cares about his students grades, but his classes are so worth it. To get on his bad side, spell the word everyday the way I just did and use it in the wrong context.

Professor Nicholas is an excellent teacher. He is always clear on what is expected from you. He walks you through each paper. Very funny & engaging. If you do the work and turn in each paper than you will succeed. Very fair grader. Gives excellent feedback. Respect him and he will respect you. I will definitely be taking his Public Speaking class.

Perry Nicholas changed my entire learning experience. He genuinely cares about the success of his students, and that empathy is what makes students eager to learn. He incorporated humor into most of his lessons which always kept the class light hearted, and he was very reasonable when it came to grading. Put simply, Perry Nicholas is one of a kind.

Professor Nicholas is great. His lectures are fun and creates a good learning environment. The only requirements are turning the work in on time and trying your best to improve on each assignment. Take full advantage of the class because he can go really in depth if you make the effort to ask. I would totally take this again.

His teaching style is lecture-oriented and loves to get students to participate in the class. He has 5 short essay assignments in the curriculum to build your writing skills and the prompts give so much room for creativity. This is followed by a short interview and 4-6 page research paper. Mr. Nicholas is a professor willing to help you out.

A decent professor. Not the best, but not the worst. He gives back graded essays with helpful comments very quickly. I think my writing skills improved. It just wasn't a class that I looked forward to going to honestly. However, a solid choice if you have to take EN110.

Many people absolutely fear speaking in public. Perry Nicholas teaches his students to "Become comfortable with being uncomfortable." He promotes diversity in his classroom, and allows for the exchange of ideas between his students in a respectful way. He is extremely talented and very creative; I highly recommend taking any course offered by him

Public speaking is not everyone's favorite choice as we all are aware. But this class was well worth the nerves initially. By having taken this course, I have learned how to speak effectively in front of different audiences. My personal confidence level has gone up significantly. Excellent professor! I highly suggest taking this course!

The class itself was pretty self standard. If you show up and put a good effort on the papers given, you will do well in the class. Mr. Nicholas is a good teacher and makes it a point to have the whole class involved in each lecture. He really cares about his students and if you get a chance to take one of his classes you will not regret it.

I enjoyed this class. I was apprehensive about public speaking but this class was beneficial. I now engage in public speaking without fear. Professor Nicholas was kind and was available if you had any questions or needed help. He used humor during class while remaining professional. He was understanding and a fair grader. He's a great professor.

Articulates precisely how to write well in a relaxing and friendly learning environment. He seamlessly transitioned into online classes when the SARS Covid 19 viral pandemic stopped seated classes.

He is a really great guy who cares about his students. He grades really fast usually with in 6 hours of handing it in. He makes the class easy and fun. Nothing bad to say about him at all.

Professor Nicholas is an amazing professor at ECC, he truly cares about his students even during the pandemic times where everything is online. He is very easily accessible and does everything in his power to build a relationship with his students to help them succeed.

Very clear professor even during these times of online learning. He generally cares about your success, but you need to put in the effort and he will make it as easy as possible for you.

If you have the opportunity to take a course with Professor Nicholas, don't miss out on it. He is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had and has inspired me tremendously in my work. If you take the time and effort, you will not only become a better writer, but also learn a little more about life.

I loved Professor Nicholas Class He's Funny, He makes class so much fun, and he really gives great feedback on your papers. I'm going to miss his class as I was looking forward to it every week. TAKE ENGLISH WITH HIM!! I promise your not gonna regret it.
