This professor is super-helpful and his lectures are great. He demonstrates how to do everything several times and uses a TI 83 calculator with a display so you can see everything step by step. He is very approachable and doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't get it the first time.
Awesome teacher. Makes Math fun and is really helpful. Has a great sense of humor and is really a hot teacher so far at GWC.
He is really good. he teaches very well. You get the cocept in his class clearly. I had him in my Trig class. I wish I could have him again in my future classes. Make sure you take his classes. Highly recommended.
Great instructor! Very helpful and enjoys a good laugh in class. He is easy going and doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't get it at first.
Great teacher ect. Not that it's a bad thing but you better really know your stuff for the tests. Problems are sometimes harder than the book. He doesn't take points away if you make stupid mistakes which is nice. Don't take this class if you just need a 100 level class, take him for something else.
anyone know how he is on cal 2 please let me know thanks
One thing i know thatis he never teach cal before (:
i have no idea also, he seems very nice though, but he goes over the materials very quick. hopefully he will hint us what to expect whenever there is a quiz or test.
GREAT TEACHER!! He is very helpful and does not make you feel stupid. I have always had trouble with math, but he helped me alot and now I get A's in math. If your schedual allows take him. He is funny too, which makes the class go fast.
Pete (that is what he has you call him) is a very east going and good mathematics instructor. Always willing to help out in any way necessary if you need it. If more math teachers were like him, perhaps math would be a more popular subject (insted of one people dread). I will take him for another course if possible.
I never thought that i coult take him again.
he goes over the work enough for the person who really needs the help. he is clear on the material and makes it fun for the students. other than that i really liked pete. by the way he likes lollipops :)

Awful experience. He was like ice for the first month of the semester, and only later softened up into helping people with understanding the work. He teaches like we all are experts and never understood why we were hung up on some equations. Awful, awful experience. Go to OCC for Statistics, this guy is awful and difficult and damn unpleasant to speak with in any form whatsoever.
I like this teacher because I'm finally passing this class. It took me 3 times but im getting a C. I understand him because he understands the subject and we use the calculator and its just easy to understand now. And he actually speaks English!!! Its alot of homework and projects but they are worth it because they will bring up your grade.
wow stats is hard! but he is avilable for help and translates the book nicely.
Pretty challenging but was a pretty good teacher. Makes u work out everything on tests and quizzes so dont expect any ez pts. If u mess up on one test u pretty much need to do well on everything or else.
man this class was challenging. kinda interesting because it relates to life. but after awhile you get burnt out with all the different tests that you have to determine and solve.
He is resonable man, and his lecture is well prepared. Show your interest and hard study, he will help you get the grade you want. I study really hard, do all homework every single one of them. his tests are reasonale not too hard but not a piece of cake! I recomemded
Good statistics teacher... clear & to the point. Professional manner slightly questionable, but overall nice and helpful.
this is a pretty challenging class...I took it on-line...only thing I didn't like is, if you asked him a question regarding mid-term & final, he would just give you a broad answer...Was clueless of what to study for, and he was no help.
Take His Class. Very good and clear. Welling to help and explain futher more then he has to. Since this class use ReYCarr software, DON"T SKIP lecture!
He is a good teacher overall. He can get lost sometimes when teaching. I didn't like the class but it had nothing to do with him.
do not take him!!! worst class ever. His tests are unbelievably hard!! Homework and quizes are done online...they're not so bad but his tests are set up for students to fail. The highest grade in the class was a low B. My first F ever was thanks to Mr. Bouzar...and i usually get B's and A's.
As long as you go to class and pay attention the tests are not hard. Tests are just like quizzes that we have every week. He only goes over the things that you need to know. Homework online is relatively easy since it's multiple choice. He is pretty realistic in his expectations.
The subject is boring but he does try to make it intersting. Very helpful, and if you attend lecture and take good notes then the tests and quizes are pretty easy.
he's okay. his quizzes are not that hard if you study. as long as you do the homework packets, quizzes, and tests (he lets you drop one) you're fine. there's a final exam, and if you don't take it, you fail. even if you have a high grade. and he doesn't give extra credit.
online math 100: i do not recommend taking this class, although it is online you are spending more time trying to teach this to yourself. professor tries to help with making grading a little easier, but overall tedious class.
This class was very difficult. He was not good at explaining EVERYTHING we needed to know. The online system thing was stupid. I did 85 hours of homework just on there. The quizzes are hard. HIS tests are ridiculously HARD. He only gives like 1% extra credit. THIS PROFESSOR SUCKS! I showed up everyday and still failed. Don't take him.
This is not the easiest class, Math is never easy...but if u go to class everyday and get help as soon as u need then u will be fine....
I sat in the front row, spent 100 hrs online doing homework and quizzes a week, and still didn't pass. He doesn't explain things very well. He expects you to understand everything on your own. I had to teach myself how to do the homework. Some people don't get math & he doesn't care. A VERY HARD CLASS with TONS of homework!
Bouzar's lectures are pretty clear. If you attend class like you should, you will pass. Homework is done online and quizzes/tests aren't that hard, so study!
This is not an easy subject. You must study and be prepared every day. Pete is very fair. If you do your part, he is very good. If you skip class (as some did), then you think he sucks... He's a very effective teacher. He's kinda funny and very engaging. Best of all, he is a native english speaker. Plus he's kinda cute.
His class is not hard if you attend classes, read text, do hw, & study. However, if you're not good at stats or math.. you might struggle. He's a very nice funny teacher though. He'll try really hard to clarify any confusions you have. This is not a "wing it" class. You will need to study.
i took stats over winter intersession was horrible! prof is not friendly, reliable, nor fair at all. he didn't make enough copies of a quiz and made a girl wait til someone was finished to take it then made her finish the same time as the rest of us. she didn't have enough time. another girl waited over an hour in the cold to take a make-up test cu
I also took this class over winter intercession...I don't recommend it all. IMO I don't think they should of offer it during winter. I thought he was friendly, helpful but not realistic. He also uses the calculator alot and that is nice. His quizzes and test covered stuff not on the lecture and they were not easy. So Study!
He is very helpful and very good at explaining the concepts. If you study well and do your homwork regularly then you won't find his classes or quizes difficult. DEVANI
His class was boring. He goes too fast. It's hard to comprehend if you suck at math. 4 tests. His tests were multiple choice, but pretty hard. For someone who is okay with math, I failed this lame class. He mixes up the questions on the test and some don't even seem to be in the notes or homework or quizzes. Quiz every week online and homework too
his class is hard. on the day of the final, i had a 72.2% and walked out of the class with a 67.6%, and i studied like crazy. his tests are hard, and drop your grade significantly.
Bouzar is cold. Do not bother asking him for help. This class was really hard and I wish I had gotten out much sooner.
i never bought the book and just bought the code so i could do the HW. the hw is a lot harder than the stuff that is gone over in class. it seems like the people that make the book creates the in-class slides and he uses that. however he creates the tests so for me the tests weren't as hard as HW. he's helpful and is funny in a sarcastic way.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is boring and does not care about you, or anything. You would not like to go to class and take a pop Quiz when your grade is based only on four quizzes and two Exams. He does not curve. :(((
Very easy going and willing to help.
Mr. Bouzar is an excellent professor, in my opinion. He cracks jokes often in lecture, while still engaging in the curriculum. He can be a little harsh in reference to health-oriented manners.. If you do not have a doctor's note provided, do not expect leniency. Though, he's always willing to assist his students in class and afterwards.
He is a good teacher!Funny sometimes...I loved going to his class.
Terrible Teacher. He doesn't teach. He goes very fast, and is condescending if you are lost. I go every day, study, do every single homework problem, you name it...and I still have trouble. If I try asking him for help he asks like I am too stupid to get it and gives me a bunch of attitude. Is pretty cold in general, and leaves you there as well.
Total Complete Failure. You might as well take it online and learn everything yourself. He teach at his pace, not the class. we spent money on a stupid book to take notes.. -__- you basically do hw online and turn in notes that you take in class. assumes you know everything, so just skims through all the chapters. I would not recommend him.
He's an ok teacher. It's easy to get lost because he goes very fast and when asked to slow down he wont. There is a lot of homework, so be sure to keep up on it because homework is the largest portion of your grade. He does offer to stay after class and help. Personally I found him to be very rude and condescending to students.
hes horrible, DONT ever take him, he puts you down and makes you feel bad about yourself, he teaches you nothing about math dont even bother, your mother can teach you more! goodluck though!
BAD teacher! Didnt learn anything!! he doesn't know how to teach or explain anything. I got a D in his class. He is rude to the students. The only good thing was at the end of the semester he opens up all the homework and gives you a chance to correct your mistakes. But other than that i failed almost every test because i didnt learn anything.
horrible tacher does not help anyone and goes really fast. DO NOT TAKE HIM. HE TREATS STUDENTS LIKE THEIR PRE SCHOOLERS. i felt so lost in his class
DO NOT TAKE HIM
He is not as bad. You can understand what he is saying. He does not make you learn the statistics the long handed way (like some teachers would), and just shows you how to do it on the calculator. Sats is hard because there is a lot of material and it can be boring, but Bouzar is not as unreasonable as some of these reviews state.
THIS IS VERY TOUGH CLASS. If you don't need to take Stats, avoid it like the plague. If so, this class requires a lot of work so schedule accordingly. Bouzar...he's not a bad teacher; he knows his stuff but don't expect him to hold your hand through it. If you have a question, ask. Otherwise he will keep on moving through the material.
Taking Stats with Pete Bouzar is an option that should NEVER be considered.I only have 350 characters to work with, so here we go. Every negative comment you read on this website or hear through word of mouth is simply the truth. The bad truly outweighs the good. He just doesn't care and a success rate of 40% is a blaring reminder. FYI, I passed.
He's a good teacher. Yes, it's a hard class and a lot of work is involved, but he explains everything well. And this is coming from someone who is horrible in Math. Ask him questions. Go to his office hours. He's a nice guy. Don't let the other reviews taint your opinion.
Not an easy class but Prof. Bouzar is fair and helpful. Every time I've gone to his office hours, he is very helpful and generous with his time. The subject matter for most (myself included) can be difficult but Prof. Bouzar is a good teacher and fair. I think the poor ratings are from people who were bummed they couldn't get an easy A or B.
I don't know why he's a teacher. Won't let adds because he won't get paid extra for taking on more students than he needs to (even though he knows a 1/3 of the class will drop). Doesn't give partial credit on quizzes (even if you show your work). I think he enjoys watching people have a hard time with the class/fail.
Fair teacher. Not for anyone looking for an easy A. If you do the work and ask questions you're troubled with you'll be fine.
When asking for help or clarity regarding an issue his remarks tended to be condescending and/or sarcastic. Hard grader and the homework didn't always match up with exam/quiz questions leaving you confused unless you had a very complete understanding of the material. I wouldn't take him again.
Ok, I am a really dedicated student to my classes. This class was no different...and I have to say it was just awful. What a waste of money I don't have to spare! I don't get math very well, and he made it worse. I thought it was just me until I took a good look around. He will NOT help you, no matter how kindly you ask. BEWARE and save your money
Worst teacher that i've ever taken at goldenwest. He is rude and doesnt help his students. It was a complete waste of time and money. He is an angry guy and wants to see his students fail. Not inspring at all and doesn't explain anything well for students who aren't good with numbers. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
This teacher needs to be let go or fired because he lacks the effort to help his students succeed. He can't explain crap well and seems like he doesn't even want to be teaching. Get this teacher fired!!!!
If you're not mathematically gifted, don't take this class.
You better make sure you get the problem the first time he explains it because he dosent go back again. i would avoid taking him, he makes you feel stupid if you ask questions
did not like this class, took this class for summer of 2010 and got a D. He is not good at explaining and does not try to help struggling students. I'm taking the class at csulb right now and my grade is an A so far. So, just do yourself a favor and stay away from this professor, he grades even harder than Cal state classes.
The Hardest Teacher Ever he does not listen to you and does not care about you at all. He is boring and just plan reads out of the book. Only about 25% of people or less pass the class. I studied hard, had tutors, and did all i was supposed to. This teacher is Crap.
He's not that tough of a prof. Your grade depends on the effort you put into work ethic and study - timely pacing and practicing on your own makes at least a B. Exams and quizzes are exactly what he teaches and hw is easy online. I struggled a bit with the material, but ended up with an A. STUDY.
You have to work a lot on your own in order to master problems. If you ask, he's always willing to explain, but not much in class. Since he has to cover the material and won't stop, you have to ask him after class.
He is funny, ready to answer everything you ask. Sometimes his solutions are more complicated than student's but if you explain it clearly, he will accept it. Sometimes gives group quizes if you ask for. Quizes everyday, tests at the end of each chapter. HW are checked when u are taking the tests. Easy grading, especially at half-end of the semester. If you can do all hw by yourself, you'll get an A. I hope I will get an A+ ^^!
He is a great teacher. Sometimes he gives group quiz (for difficult lesson). attendance is extremely important, for quiz on every class. His grading is great, he gives you credit if you go on the right way but you do it wrong at algebra.
quiz at every class meeting. there were about 5 group quizzes during the whole semester. LOVES to put problems with trig identities on quizzes/exams. explained the examples in the book pretty well but it seemed like a lot of the quiz & exam questions came from handouts (or probs similar)so study those too. can be rude & sarcastic at times
He is a good teacher. He teaches exactly what will be on quizzes and tests and is willing to help if you have questions. It is important to make it to class everyday and do homework if you want to do well. Don't be expecting an easy A.
Acts like students are dumb if they are struggling. No help what so ever.
Amazing professor! His clarity in speaking and explaining the concepts of beginning algebra were right on! He's brutally honest and sometimes that intimidates the students-however, he's the best. Take him, you won't regret it.
He's an alright speaker: not monotonic, but not funny either and sounds rude sometimes. Subject difficulty is like 6/10 (like calculus 2). Attend class so you don't have to read, but homework counts as points. One quiz a week. He deducts points heavily (penmanship)! No late work or make ups. Answers all student Qs in class: helpful/time consuming.
HARD!
His tests had things he didnt mention and things he tell us will not be on them. He doest teach clearly and makes lots of solving mistakes.
3 people dropped after exam 1, 12 more after exam 2. His lecturs dont help so read the terrible textbook. No stars for this guy.
I got a failing grade the first time, even though I thought I did okay. I averaged 60% on all his exams. He gave me an F. Stressful.
even if u understand all the hw the tests will be hard. the questions are very tricky. if he says describe, u must use sentences. if the theorem says "if a is wrong, then b is wrong", on the test you must show both a AND b are wrong for credit, not a alone and say b is wrong because of theorem.
Said he'd give points if somebody is close to the next letter grade. I was 5 points short from a C- and he said "no." Was going to show him wrong exam answers that I learned was right and 5 he marked "no work -16" when there is work, but he said he won't check them and turned his chair.
I never missed a class and have C's and D's on my exams but my semester grade IS A F+. I realize my GPA is screwed and have given up college.
This guy is a lazy crank. For example all these vectors are parallel (.5, .5, .5) (.8, .8, .8) (2, 2, 2). In many sections you can pick any that makes the multiplication simpler. He solves it his way (sometimes wrong, too) and will mark you wrong even when the answer is equivalent.
This feels like an advance class. The math is not too hard, but there is a ton of definitions and theories to memorize and his tests is abnormally hard. By the end of the semester, only 12 of 60 students remained. Seriously.
Talk to people before you take his class. Don't expect a good grade in here. He teaches very wrong and grades really harsh. I expected to Ace every exam, but always end up with D's. He marks off 4 if it looks like 9's. Sometimes, the definition is true, but he disagrees and tells us it is how he "feels, but can't explain."
Basically Pete Bouzar turns on the textbook company's powerpoints and reads off it. Then you do a lot of homework at home and take a quiz everyweek and an exam every month. Stop removing my honest comments.
If Pete Bouzar is teaching, count me out. Never again..
Dude. If you sign up for his classes, you're gonna have a bad time.
You're gonna spend a lot of time teaching yourself. Overall the class is tedious and a lot of work. Every lesson will take hours away each day, not like high school when you have a whole year for the class. Pete is really demanding and strict. Tests are so much harder than any homework or online quizzes you can find. Impossible to pass his class.
When you need help, you're out of luck. Bouzar is fast paced and very critical. He'll teach the class to be done with. He won't solve problems if you need help. Most importantly don't expect an easy A, B, or C. A few small mistake on your test will definitely get you a D. He'll treat you like a rocket scientist. Pick a different class or teacher.
You're gonna spend a lot of time teaching yourself. Overall the class is tedious and a lot of work. Every lesson will take hours away each day, not like high school when you have a whole year for the class. Pete is really demanding and strict. Tests are so much harder than any homework or online quizzes you can find. This is the truth stop reportin
I don't know what everyone is complaining about-as a former student of his I could honestly say that he was the best individual I have come across who teaches math in an easy to understand manner. I would take him again had I the chance. ADVICE? PAY ATTENTION! ASK QUESTIONS! STUDY STUDY STUDY! Math requires hard work...Not an easy A-work for it!
His lectures are very clear and he is good at explaining material. Weekly quizzes that are not multiple choice, 3 multiple choice exams and a MC final. Exams were tough and tricky. Homework is graded and 15% of total grade. Overall, tough but fair class.
it's math, what can you expect! Just practice a lot. Pete is super cool. He's to cover a lot of material so he goes fast. 4 exams, quizzes every week. No hard, but you can easily screw up if you miss a sum, or symbol. just stay focus. Overall, it's a good class. On related news Pete is damn fine so it's hard to concentrate.
Teacher and class is a joke. He has a temper and doesn't explain things clearly...wrote the college asking for a refund because I didn't learn a damn thing in his class. Worst math teacher out there. STAY CLEAR!
I wanted to set the record straight. I've been in college for 6 years (I'm on the 20 year plan). I've taken a lot of classes with a lot of different teachers and have changed my major. Pete is by far the best teacher I've ever had at GWC. YOU WILL LEARN in this class. He has a great sense of humor, makes class enjoyable. SIT IN THE FRONT!
Best math prof so far. He's strict in grading,so do not expect an easy A. Attendance is mandatory because quiz every other meeting. However, pay attention to the lecture, stick with the guide he gives before each exam, ask him whatever you're not clear then u will definitely get an A
Do not listen to the people who say he is a bad Professor. The content of the class is what is difficult, but if you attend all classes and do the homework you will be fine. I am not a math person at all and only took the class because it is a nursing pre-req, but I was able to get an A.
I don't get why people are saying he's a bad or difficult teacher - math is a tough subject, but he is an excellent teacher. He's very helpful and will explain things multiple times if you need him to - he will come around and help you specifically so you don't feel stupid asking questions in front of everyone. Attendance is mandatory.
Pete Bouzar was a great teacher. I took his summer math 30 class and he knows his stuff. If you don't go to class, you're only hurting yourself. His lectures are clear and concise. Quizzes and tests are on everything he lectures on, so it's never off the wall or confusing. Go to class, take notes, do the homework.
His lectures are okay but doesn't go into detail, I ended up withdrawing from the class few weeks before the final. I went to Bouzar for help and he shot me down and didn't help me at all
NOT HELPFUL. Tells you to ask your peers when you need help. He will not help you. If he does he makes you feel like an idiot. I do not recommend taking him for Math 10 as this is an intro class.
This teacher gets a bad rap. He is nice and helpful if you want help and are making an effort in the class. Math is a difficult subject. I liked how he walked us through each step to each kind of problem and stopped and answered questions if we had any. The tests are difficult, but go to class because he gives random worksheets for points.
i'm a father of a 3yr old and having this be my first class back in 8 years, I made it very clear I was going to need some help along the way. Personally I've never been disrespected or felt so second rate then I have talking to this man. He will stop and help you during class, if you're a Female. and everyone who's taken his class knows thats true
Take this teacher if you want to mess up your whole transfer plan. Never in my life have I met a more unaccomadating teacher, he is intimidating and unsympathetic to those struggling in the class. When people would ask questions he would laugh at them and then move on with out answering their question. If you wanna mess up your ed plan take him.
Mr. Bouzar is a great teacher he is also the department head here at GWC. He knows his stuff. A lot of people don't like him because he has a strong personality. If you attend classes regularly do your MML homework and actually pay attention and participate he will be more than wiling and HAPPY to help you.
He's a GREAT teacher, he goes through each step thoroughly and tries his best to make sure everyone understands. Keep in mind that this is college and the teachers aren't going to baby you, yes, this is a "beginners class" but you are expected to know the basics. He can be cynical, and if you make stupid remarks you will be called out for it.
Bouzar is a good professor. He does try and go step by step Cleary to ensure everyone understands. However, at times he can rush/cram some work within the last 30 minutes of class (not cool!). However, he is helpful (and handsome) for the most part. JUST STAY ON HIS GOOD SIDE & you'll be fine :) I would definitely take him again!
Taking this professor for a summer course. In my opinion, awesome professor. Very chill. The material is really tough/heavy. You will struggle with quizzes/exams if you don't do the homework. Exams are very difficult, but fair. Lessons are clear, and he's very willing to answer your questions. Grading is fair. I will look to take him for Calc III.
It is very hard class!!!
he is not helpful at all he says to ask questions and when you do ask he tells you to ask a neighbor that he already explained it. not helpful at would not recommend at all.
His test are REALLY HARD. I think only one person got an A in his class. I was rank 2 and had a pretty high B so that means the other person probably has an A. Anyway, his class is fun and interesting, its just his test is such a turn off. Its pretty difficult. You would have to do extra problems then the assigned hw to understand the class.
Its a tough class so youve got to do the work. His lectures are clear. Challenging tests but graded fairly. He makes a relaxed learning environment.
Took Bouzar for Calc1 and passed. I feel this instructor did a great job in preparing me for Calc2. Be prepared to do the work for the grade. Great teacher.
Cool teacher. Tells you what to know for tests and willing to help if you show effort. Lectures made it easy to pass. My friend took him for math 185 and he passed and I plan to take him for that class too.
Had him a year ago and passed because he tells you what to expect for each test. Just studied for the tests and did some homework. I didn't think he was hard but its Calculus. so its hard anyways. judge for yourself.
Tough class with lots of content but he explains and simplifies it. Tests are challenging but fair. He'll tell you what to expect for each test but you have to know how to work the problems.
Hard class but he's fair and undesrstandable. Goes a bit fast. Tests are tough but he'll tell you what's going to be on it.
The quizzes and tests are hard but the quizzes are not worth that many points and he pulls the hardest questions for the test from the quizzes. He is very fair and you know what to expect if you pay attention.
He's a good teacher and fair. Willing to help you if you show effort but don't expect hand-holding. Makes sure you're ready for each test and grades fairly. Homework was automatic credit as long as you do about 10 problems. I've heard he'll cut you some slack if you stick it out.
His notes are scattered, he makes LOTS of mistakes in lectures, and doesn't care about his students. Tests are also very hard (class average 60%) and he does not curve anything. Do the homework for the extra points because you will need them. Half the class dropped. Doesn't teach well enough for his tests. Hardest calc 2 prof at GWC by far. Avoid.
To be completely honest, there are better Calc professors. I took his class because he was the only one teaching it. He's not very good with time managing class time, and ends up cramming all the important info. in the last 5 minutes of class. If you want to enjoy it and pass, don' take him.
Goes really fast in lectures. Makes a lot of mistakes during lectures too. Quizzes are super easy if you can do hw without struggle. Tests, however, will MURDER your grade. I suggest doing ALL problems on each hw lesson instead of just the 10 he assigns. 3 tests about 10 quizzes 1 comp. final. Tells you exactly wat to expect on each exam. good luck
Good teacher. No claas quizzes. Grades fairly and helpful.
Great teacher. Would take again....
No quizzes. Enuf said!
Fair teacher that tries to make it as easy as possible but its CALCULUS, so ... You will have to do the work to pass, of course but he'll help you if you go to office hours.
Taking him over the summer and yeah, its hard but he teaches really well and is cool. The tests are challenging but lets you have some partner quizzes. No homework collected but if you don't do it, you're screwed. Good luck!
yep I finally couldn't put off the class dreaded by all business majors any longer so I took the 8 week long bus calc summer course w Pete. O K business calc isn't "easier" than calculus, it's just less in-depth. Pete is VERY clear though & I wouldn't have been able to pull off the A with anyone else! DO the hmwk & STUDY *Pete likes island jams*
seemed like a good person, hard teacher, harder to follow, and unrealistic expectations. he seems like he is burnt out on his job and students. his positive ratings are clearly written by him. dates of the positive ratings are too close together & they say the same things every teacher wants to be said about them "do your work and you will pass"
This class was such a huge disappointment. Tests are ridiculously and unnecessarily hard, with a usual average of high D's or low C's for every exam and under no circumstances will this man curve. You have to put in a lot of effort in order to pass, and unless you go to his office hours often, don't expect him to motivate or inspire you to do well.
Put it this way.. I have a B in microbiology and close to failing stats. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you think I am exaggerating, I'm not. This was your warning.
Bouzar was a good and fair teacher. No complaints. It was a good class.
Stats is hard and you are expected to do reading. He makes it easy but it's still hard to learn everything from his class alone. Online homework and quizzes are easy to complete.
This was the hardest class I've taken in my entire college career. He lectures very fast and you MUST come to class with the chapter already reviewed or you will be lost. I wouldn't recommend the class if you have poor math skills and don't enjoy endless word problems mysteriously worded...
it's pretty easy if you study well. don't over think alot of ppl did that and got confused
Though I may have gotten a C in his class, he is honestly one of the best professors at GWC. He is not difficult, you just gotta make sure you do your homework (including sections eventhough it is not required) and study consistently for weekly quizzes. If you need to take Calculus or Linear Algebra trust me, YOU WILL LEARN A LOT from Pete Bouzar.
Its a different kinds math class but he makes it uderstandable. It does require lots of out of class time. Drops the lowest test that helped. Online quizzes are easy.
This professor did a great job at explaining the procedures of statistic analysis and its applicability to the real world. Despite being a math course, he did find ways to be humorous in his approaches to teaching. He does his lectures pretty quickly so active listening and reading the chapter before the lecture is pretty important.
Awful
Tough class but he tries to make it as easy as possible. You have to read and be ready for his classes. Don't expect to learn everything in class. Seems intimidating but is helpful if you meet with him during office time.
Not like any algebra class and he makes it understandable but it's still hard. You can pass if you do all the online homework and quizzes. Tests are tough but so is the subject. Grading is fair though.
Long story short: Straight A student, and I failed this class. Makes tests unusually hard. Not approachable.
He cares about his students, but covers it up with a lot of attitude. A lot. But will try his best to answer questions. Think of a decent burger, but it only has a bun and patty. Read the chapter before class.
He goes over the lecture in class super fast. Don't expect to learn much in class, you have to self-study at home. There're 3 big tests in the course which are really tough and you have to spend almost a week to prep for it and It's impossible to get A. There were 50 students in his class at first but after the first test half of them dropped.
He's not going to lecture the whole time so you bettr go in prepared. Tests are hard but the cvlass overall is hard. Not like algebra which was a waste of time. Don't take him if you aren't ready to do the work.
His teaching style is clear and concise. Online quizzes and homework every week but you get multiple attempts on hw and two attempts on quizzes. Tests are difficult but if you do all the homework and quizzes and get average scores on tests, you can still get a decent grade. Attendance is mandatory and in-class assignments are good studying tools.
His expectations are very clear with this class. There are online homework assignments and online quizzes every week, but there are an unlimited tries available for homework and 2 tries for each quiz, so it is not difficult at all to do well. Besides that the tests are straightforward and aren't tricky. He covers all the material exceptionally well
I liked this class because your entire grade was based on quiz and test scores. If you read beforehand and do the homework on time, you should find the lectures very helpful. He also does a great job of explaining complex, abstract linear algebra topics in layman's terms which is important if you are coming from a calculus class.
Stats is really hard and this professor just made it more difficult
He is kind and very helpful if you come to his office hours. He goes through the lectures very fast. 12 quizzes and 1 extra credit quiz, 3 tests and 1 final. The quizzes are easy but the tests are usually hard. Keep practicing and coming to his office hours if you have question.
I took Bouzar in 2009. Granted, it was only a Math 10 class, but I thought he was fair. I received an A in Math 10. However, by Math 30, I'd noticed a shift in attitude.. He started to become less approachable and more inclined toward criticism instead of offering assistance on difficult to grasp concepts. My only C at GWC was in his Math 30 class.
Tough class to take during summer but I managed to get through. He drops the lowest test out of 4 and no homework. Tests are tough and you have to practice to pass them.
WORST prof. I have taken. Lectures, homework, and quizzes are easy. He makes exams WAY harder than they need to be, & he makes it unnecessarily difficult. HW/Quizzes arent even close to how hard the exams are. DOES NOT curve. He failed the most of the class. DO NOT TAKE. Exam class average was below a 50%. People like him should not be teachers.
He is AWFUL. Put it this way, most of the class did not pass. This guy should not be teaching, does not care about students or their success in class. If MOST of your students aren't passing, YOU need to change your teaching method. Was not open to suggestions from students to help them pass or learn. Does not prepare you for the exam at all.
I felt set up to fail. Class started out with like 30 students after the first exam, half dropped. Very few students did well. If you're trying to transfer do NOT take him, you will not earn the grade you wanted in his class. GW should let him go.
Bouzar seemed like a cool guy, but isn't really willing to work with his students. His tests were impossible. Even though I passed, most of my classmates didn't. I wouldn't recommend him, avoid as much as possible. He doesn't get you ready for the exam, so you're going to have to teach yourself and do the hardest problems from the book to prep.
His lectures are clear, concise, and answers questions well. He was flexible with homework and quizzes, but wasn't fair on exams. He tested us on the material, but it was not at the same level of difficulty that was taught in class or on mymathlab. Would not recommend him. Heard a lot of people failed and are retaking. I heard only 4 passed.
Much better than my current cal3 prof. Prof Bouzar doesn't explain much about the concepts, but he does lots of examples, which is good. I just wished that he could explain more about the concepts, as well as the proofs.
He is a good teacher, he is willing to explain and help if you ask him. His test isn't hard at much, all in what he teaches, no outside textbook. I love it. You should practice more homework by yourself if you want to get a high score on the test. Moreover, he also gives extra points for your participation in the class.

This professor is hard to understand. Not clear and lack of vibe to set up. Honestly, it is best not to take him.
Hard class but he gives lots of opportunities to do well. Drops the lowest test and a bunch of group quizzes.
I took professor Bouzar for Calc1 . Math is my strong point so I wasn't too worried about the class. His lectures are very helpful and you learn a lot, but when it came to anyone asking questions or for him to explain further he was rude about it or just said to reread the lecture in the book. Even at office hours he was not willing to be helpful.
Cal1 is not easy but prof. Bouzar made it less headache. All I can recommend are: - don't skip class, every class content offers important & progressive info for tests to the end of the class. - practice as many problems he recommends from his hand-out or textbook (which is PDF and FREE). - group study is highly recommended.
I took Calc 1, I knew it would be tough but I was prepared to put in the work. I worked almost every day for an hour on the practice problems he put on canvas, the textbook plus going over the lecture notes. But the test had a completely different material and he claimed that it was "critical thinking," but most students wouldn't pass the tests.
I had such a difficult class with this teacher. Most of the time I felt humiliated by him. Tried to ask questions and most of the answers were according to him common sense. I even tried tutoring but he grades hard. I dont think he understands that its material we are learning. Instead he treats the whole class as a review.
He should not teach. The material covered in class was way harder than the exam and he doesn't prepare you for the exams at all.
1. Zero textbook cost 2. Very friendly, ready to answer any math problems before class time, during break, or after class, or even when he is lecturing 3. Study group highly recommend 4. This class has embedded tutor 5. 10 Group quizzes (1 extra credit individulal quiz), 3 Exams, 1 Finals Caution: His quizzes are hard as the test level KhanhCavity
Study the practice stuff he posts and you can pass. Group quizzes and no homework.
Professor Bouzar is a caring and quick responsive professor. This is a VERY hard class, hardest class I have EVER taken, but that does NOT make him a bad professor. I studied night&day for a good grade in this class. It's simple. DO the work, PUT in the time, you will get the grade you desire. The time you put in determines the results you get.
Great Professor, work hard and you will do well. His tests are hard but manageable and are the majority of your grade. No homework but if you want a good grade you better be doing problems outside of class. Study group and tutoring should taken advantage of.
Stats was hard but I learned a lot. He made us understand it and not just calclate stuff. Lots of online homework and reading but you can get it done.
hardets class ive taken. we had to do lots of online reading and homework but was due on weekends. also a online quiz on weekends.
He delayed releasing my semester grade on my transcript. Everything else is perfect
He explain too fast, Math is a subject need to be patience and understood but he makes me no more patience with my favorite subject. If you very need a teacher to explain slowly and correctly might not choose him
Calc 2 is easily one of the hardest math classes I've ever taken. This class is very high paced and very strenuous itself. Be ready for 3 midterms and 1 final and quizzes. Pete's teaching style is very fast paced so be prepared to keep up. However, if you ever need help he's always willing to explain and help you if you speak up.
He is very rude when you have a question to ask him and he is not that helpful when you need help on homework or classwork. He is a very harsh teacher and this class has so much homework. So many people have dropped his class within the beginning weeks once they started to see how hard and tough him and his class were. DO NOT TAKE HIM PERIOD.
worst teacher I've ever had. on the first day he said "please don't bother me with questions that you can find the answers to" how do you call yourself a professor with that attitude. he made us get into groups and figure things out. very unsure of what I was being taught. he's not very approachable or helpful. DROP THIS CLASS IMMEDIATELY
I was quite nervous taking Pete's class after reading his reviews. However, now that I have had the chance to get to know him as a teacher, I realize that he is one of the best out there. He cares about the success of his students and is always willing to help you. Be warned, he expects a lot from you. Just put in the work and it will pay off!
The issues are his exams and his answers to your questions when you needed help. His exams covered on material he NEVER went over, and his excuse was for us to use critical thinking. He wont answer your questions unless they were good enough, thus people ultimately dropping his class. He treats you like you know the material already. AVOID HIM
HARDEST CLASS EVER. Tests are worth 50 percent of your grade on just TWO tests alone. An Insane amount of homework + no explanation on how to use calculator. If you have no clue about stats prior YOU WILL FAIL
I take his online statistics class and overall it is a pretty good class. It is very assignment and tests heavy since all of the assignments are worth 2-3 points each. His videos help a ton but you have to do your work or else you will not pass his online class. Also, study a ton before midterms and finals.
Great professor breaking down the math to steps. Still made us work for the grade but group quizzes helps.
All online. Lots of assignments and if you do all of them but only do ik on quizzes, you'll pass like me. I didnt like the discussions and barely did them.
He explains things as simple as can be but the problems are long and he wants you to show some work but you can use graphing calculator too. Group quizzes every week but tests are hard. It challenged me which I think is great. Not for everyone.
I took Cal 1, Cal 2 and Linear Algebra with him. His lecture is on point. He's always willing to clarify the confusion. Of course, not the silly questions. Math's always challenging. Test is heavy. Do homework for your own sake. Group quizzes are easy credits. Half of my 285 was online, it was hard but he was available online everyday to reach out.
The summer stats class was probably the easiest thing i've done. All i did was the homework and weekly quizzes. I did afew discussion posts too but pretty easy. If you don;t do your work, then you probably won't pass. otherwise it's pretty basic. do your work and you'll pass.
Unlike other professors, he didn't care about your performance. Don't be surprised if you don't have any credit on your quizzes though you work hard but wrong answer. His way of explanation is complicated. I have to take his class because this is my last semester, and I need his class to transfer. Quizzes and tests aren't anything like lectures.
Pete Bouzar is a good teacher, in person. This online is probably not the most ideal situation but it is what it is, he is extremely passive aggressive over the webcam and shades the students who chose to not have their camera on nor mic on. Its understandable that it is hard but to make side comments towards your students decisions is notright
This class is the most difficult I've had so far for mathematics. The biggest reason for this is that the quizzes and tests are different from the homework. So it is very hard to prepare.
very straightforward with what's on upcoming quizzes and exams and overall, cares a lot abt his students. Participation does matter a lot tho (stressed) so ask him questions bc he will rlly try his best to answer. online quizzes and exams are open notes for now during covid, but srsly STUDY UP and PRACTICE DAILY for at least an hour or two.
Yeah he made things more difficult. Claimed the test was easy but used the hardest problems. Which the time of the test wasn't enough to complete. Got pissed if no one talked. Is passive aggressive. Power trips when ever he can. Doesn't grade on a curve on the final. Lectures were bad didnt explain much. Leonard YT is your friend.
Extremely passive aggressive throughout the course complaining about lack of participation yet simply reads off his notes. Whenever someone is struggling, says students should have already been prepared by previous teachers and go learn the material on own free time. Also didn't curve final where average was 50%...
I took his calc 2 class and the quizzes will kill your grade. Your grade is based on 8 disc boards and 8 quizzes. Once you fail a quiz, it's hard to raise your grade. He'll give you info on what's on the quiz but it'll be hard compared to inclass examples. There're many quizzes where the entire class failed but he didnt curve or remove the grade.
Never had the desire to help if your questions werent good enough for him. Expects you to be a natural with math, hence why he treated every lecture like a brief review. Then exams covered stuff he never went over, concluding that we shouldve taught those materials ourselves. Maybe teach that to the class instead of leaving students in the dark?
Quizzes are hard
Tried taking his class a second time, left the before the drop w/out W due date. Gave a bad vibe. Does half a problem in lecture and makes students do the rest without getting a good grasp of the concept. No graded homework. Quiz and test on stuff he never went over. Not a person to ask questions on clarification or help on a math problem. Avoid.
His online summer class has to be the most stressful class I've ever taken. No lectures, no practice problems, just you teaching yourself. His class is graded by 8 quizzes, 10 questions, 1 hour, 1 try, no extra credit. Make sure to create a class discord to share your experiences with your fellow clueless classmates. I do not recommend his class.
Took his Precalc in summer & it was all online, with no meetings at all and you go at your own pace. Read ~1-2 chapters a week. Then do a discussion and quiz released on Friday but you can also wait until Sunday. Doesn't teach & you read from an online textbook, which most of the time is so boring, or you can watch other professors teach you.
Not an ideal classroom environment. Felt like I was going to traffic school instead of math class. He is the toughest grader I've ever had and he shows no mercy grading his discussion posts. One little part he doesn't agree with or is wrong and it's already down to a 6/10. Acts tough like he cares but only really trying to make a statement
He moves through this class very quickly be ready to need lots of extra help from classmates and outside help just to get by this class.
He made the class easy by only having 2 assignments per week, open note quizzes, no midterms or final exam.
Easier than any other stats class and no cost for any materials. no online homework, no midterms or finals, open notes quizzes and a discussion each week.
You can't pass this class, you don't belong in stats. No tests and lots of extra credit points. No homework or cost for online program that other teachers use.
extremely unprofessional.
No textbook or access code to buy. The class is FREE using posted notes, videos, and other resources. You will be doing most of the learning by reading reference textbooks and watching videos. Weekly quiz and discussion is all you have to do. No midterms, final exams, or projects.
For those who are student athletes Do Not take this class. He does not care if you play sports. Also isn't flexible with your schedule I do not recommend. He's hard to work with and almost feels like its impossible. I sent my schedule to him and he didn't even bother to look at it. His work is mostly doing essays instead of math. Hopes this helps .
Stats is a hard class to learn online and he doesn't give online lectures. The good thing is there's only 1 discussion and 1 quiz each week. You can use your notes but it doesn't help if you don't spend time learning the material. Don't take this class if you can't commit to reading and watching videos to learn anything. Good Luck.
Got an A in this class since all we had to do is 1 quiz and 1 discussion each week. No midterm and final exams worth 1000 points. Discussions were mostly activities and pretty much got full credit for doing them. I'm a psychology major and this class has prepared me for research methods class.
This class is impossible. The first mistake I found was that this professor teaches well. However, he makes the quizes so hard. The hardest quizes ever. 2 quizes per week no exams. However the quizes are really hard. example: Quiz on series would include part by integration, trig sub, u sub, trig identities. All of which are unrelated to parametri
Weekly quiz and discussion. No cost for book or access code and no respondus. Hard class but he explains things to make it easy. You still have to read and do the work.
I have a 4.0 gpa and had to withdraw from this class because the professor doesn't teach the course. There are no lecture videos, no extra credit and some of the questions on the quizzes aren't even in the textbook. I took stats with another professor and got an A in the class (96%). Stats isn't an easy subject but you need to be taught right?
The first hard college class ive taken and got a C. Professor only gives a quiz and a discussion every week and he teaches you the tricks but it was still hard to learn. Not like an algebra class and requires critical thinking. If you're not used to that, then you'll struggle. No access codes or homework to do either. Maybe there should be.
Tough class but only has a quiz and discussion each week. No homework. He explains things and shows you how to calculate the easiest ways.
Took this class online with no lectures. He uses his own fill-in notes and posted videos but you can also read the free textbook if you want. No homework is collected but just a quiz and discussion activity each week that is on canvas. I did go to his office a few times and he was helpful but i had to teach myself with the notes he has posted.
Not an easy class and only graded on a weekly quiz and discussion activity. No access codes or respondus for quizzes since you can use your notes. He does show you how to use the calculator so you don't have all the formulas to deal with. Still though, this was not a do-it-yourself class. Good luck!
I took the 8-week online class with this prof and got a B. He postes lecture notes and some videos that help you learn but you will be teaching yourself for the most part. I met with him a few times on zoom and he was very helpful but I did have to put in many hours to read, watch videos and work on the lecture notes. Good Luck.
This man gets it. Trig is hard, and a lot of us are not math majors. He explained things very simply, and did not give overwhelming tests to stress us out. He's always ready to help with any questions and if you feel you missed out on points then he will look over your work to give more credit. I wish I could take calc with him.
Took his class online during summer so I had to teach myself but he made it easy by only assigning an activity and a quiz each week due on canvas. Free textbook to read from and he posts lecture notes and helpful videos. Easy peasy.
He's an okay lecturer. I took his Calc 1 class over the summer and it wasn't too difficult. Practice problems are given but they're not collected for a grade, but you should do them. Grades were based only off of quizzes that we had every other day, no midterm or final or extra credit.
He just doesn't teach. Students have to figure it out and doesn't give good feedback. It becomes annoying later on because the entire job of a teacher is to teach.
Tough class, but manageable with the right tools. No lectures, just quizzes and discussions. The free textbook and unstuckstudy were a big help for me - would recommend using both to stay on top of the material.
Online class was tough but no access codes or homework. Just weekly quiz and activity assignment which took about an hour to do.
Professor doesn't teach, can't really call him a teacher. His class is generally easy in terms of workload, just a worksheet and a quiz each week. He does not give extra time no matter the situation you're in so if you miss a week, you're in danger of failing.
No homework system to sign up for. Only graded on weekly quiz and some activity questions. you can use AI and he's easy to understand. Online class was easy.
always give low score for no reason, just give score based on feeling. whether right or wrong
He is sarcastic and talks down to you. Sometimes he acts like he cares, but I think he doesn't really. I don't think he likes teaching or the subject he is teaching.
Very tough teacher but has a great curriculum.
There are two quizzes and two case studies every week, as one week typically includes two chapters. You only have one attempt for each quiz. I'm not sure how he grades your case studies, which consistently result in a C score. While asking him some questions, he doesn't respect students, and his teaching is not beneficial for your homework.
Not the best grader when it comes to case studies and sometimes you gotta pray that the case study given that week is easy or understandable. Also, quizzes every week. Going in person makes it a bit bearable. Also, half my class just disappeared halfway through the semester.
Has a vague rubric on what he expects on his case studies and his lectures don't seem to help at all. Your grade will be heavily impacted by your case studies and it is hard to raise your grade if you don't ace everything which was almost impossible for me.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I only took him because he had the most available class times (for a reason). The structure of his class is simple, 1 homework assignment and 1 online quiz per week, but that homework assignment will take HOURS. He is a harsh grader (+ rude). If you want to pass with an A, go to office hours. Over half the class dropped.
If you put effort and have good time management, then that would be an easy A within this course. He is a good professor, and you should come by his office hours to make sure you understand the concept. I saw there are a lot of "false" comments about this professor, since they are not putting in the effort and good time management.
