This guys pretty funny cracks many jokes in class. Class is not a breeze you do have to put some effort into it, but there no reason not to getn an a or b.

Excellent teacher! Gives a quiz begining each class which helps you to know the material better for the tests. Tests are the same format as the quizzes. Do your homework, attend all classes, be on time and you will pass with flying colors! TAKE HIM if you want to learn math.

A great teacher for Finite as well as Business Calculus. Very well organized! He does not teach from the book but you need it for HMWK problems. A quiz is given @ the begining of every class and is similar to the exams. Do well on the hmwks, quizzes and reviews, you'll pass the exams. TAKE HIM!

I took both Finite Math/Calculus over the summer w/him b/c he's a really good professor. Sort of crazy and *happy* but really anal when it comes to his class. He makes it easy to understand but if you don't, watch out, he'll make fun of your slowness. He went off twice... but I guess it was called 4. Rude @ times but it's worth it in the end.

I took Gomez for Finite and Calculus and was suprised at what he was able to make me comprehend. Most of the people who do poor in his class are lazy and do not attend class regularly. If you are a serious student wanting to learn then this is th eprof for you. Especially if you struggle in Math because he will make you understand.

Trigonometry was a blast in this prof's class. He may be rude and never open his eyes but he was hillarious. He would say random jokes in the middle of a problem. Despite all of this, he was an exceptional teacher. He knows what he is doing so you just have to put your part into it. It is college...so yes you have to study at times. Igot an easy

He was a great prof. I started out hating him, but as I worked harder, asked more questions, and got to know him, I had a gr8 time in his class. if you don't want to work hard, don't take his class. If you want to work hard. get a good grade, and LEARN your stuff, take him. You will be glad you did!

Wow! Dr. Gomez may be my best math teacher yet. If you're interested in learning, not afraid to do your work and prepare for class, seek him out. His performance was so good in Precal that I took him for CAL1 the very next term. I'm confident in the preparation he gave me for CAL2. Anyone upset over his reality based comments needs to man up.

With good attendance and work on my part I received an A in both Precal and CAL1 in his class. He's really good at teaching complicated concepts quickly. His explanations are so much better than the book. He is sometimes annoyed by people who don't prepare for class. His tests are very similar to the review and the problems on the quiz. 5 star

Probably the best math professor I have ever had! He made Pre- cal and Cal 1 so understandable I ended up with an A in both. LOTS of work though, homework and quizzes daily but you will definitely know your stuff!

Honestly, he has been the best math teacher i have taken at hcc. He will make you understand the material by giving you lots of practice. i made an A. Ask questions and he will help you! he may seem a little intimidating at first but he is cool. Just make sure your phone does not go off cause he will kick you out. If you want to learn take him!

Gives you plenty of practice. Exam reviews are harder than the actual tests. Try and make it to all exams because the comprehensive final is somewhat challenging. Will be taking him for Calculus with Apps if that further answers any questions.

Bad reviews come from those who miss class and expect to be spoon fed. He won't. Lets you decide whats important to you. I took his Finite and Business Calculus class. 40% of grade is IN CLASS QUIZES! so easy, go to class= pass class. Got A's on both of his classes. Gomez is brash, & comes off rude. His grading system was 1/3 of grade each on exams, wksheets, final. There are wksheets every class which help you prep. He does a good # of examples on the board and will work out a hw problem. He also puts up past grading keys on the web. Its a good class because he explains very well. Also, turn your cell off.

Gomez can be hard and challenging but after all this is college... anyone that is looking for an easy A do not need to be in this class. This class is for people who want to learn. Grading wise its a bit different because his quizzes are worth almost half the whole grade. Great teacher would definitely take him again.

This guy is da-man! He is old school and tells it like it is. Those who usually float by get smashed (though its easy). He is VERY organized and has the quiz handed out right on the minute every day.. I got my overall grade a few hours after the final!! OVERALL no BS, just pay attention and read. Leave your phone in the car BTW; you won't need it.

This Professor is absolutely superb! You don't need the textbook for finite math and you have homework online that is due before each test. The homeworks are super easy. Quizzes daily but easy. Very understanding explains so well. Tests are exactly like the reviews. I will be taking him again.

I absolutely love him. I've taken him twice and would have taken him for my next two classes if he was teaching the next one this semester. He is sarcastic so can seem rude but it's funny if you take a step back and understand he's joking. A quiz everyday helps keep info fresh and grade high. No need to buy the book unless you really want it.

Took him for Precal and Cal I during summer I and II. He was great, wish he taught the rest of the calculus classes because I would take him again. If you fail it's because you were lazy and didn't study/do the homework given/extra credit. So many chances to get an A!

I read some of his negative comments and have to say that people who find him rude are really misinterpreting his sarcasm. He has that old man humor, very sarcastic. I found it entertaining. He gives you extra credit on all tests. Daily quizzes which sound daunting but really help to keep the grade up. Do the work and you'll get a good grade!

Prof Pete is awesome! at first he didn't seem very approachable, but as I got used to him, he is the BEST! He makes his expectations very clear. Book wasn't needed, 4 tests which are similar to reviews, and LOTS of extra credit. Overall awesome prof. oh and he is Funny in a weird way

Took him for a mini. That might be why he made it easy. 3 exams, worksheets each class, MyMathLab, and a final - all 4 categories worth 25%. No assignments required from the book. All WS, HW, and exams had only a few questions so nothing took a long time. He's an easy going guy.

Gomez was a great professor. He is very predictable - class starts with a quiz over what you learned in the previous lecture and then lectures the rest of the time. If you take good notes (i.e. - what he writes on the board and then what he says verbally) and study them before class, you can pass!!

The first time I took MATH 1324, I had to drop it because I was failing. so this was technically my second time taking the course and honestly this is the easiest math class I have ever taken. I took this class in the June. This class is all about showing up and paying attention. I easily got over a 100 on every test. Study for maybe 20 minutes each night and you're guaranteed an A. Never skip class, people who do get so behind! I would definitely take another class from him. Basically if you're responsible and do your work it's an easyA

Calculus in itself is a tough subject, he did a good job of making it easier to understand. Make sure you don't skip a class! Quizzes every class (drops the lowest 4), 5 exams, and some class periods are spent doing worksheets. Lots of material to grade which is good, and he gives you the graded work the next class period. HW and textbook online.

Math usually isn't my strongest subject, but I performed well in his class. As others explained, he has a dark sense of humor, if you can't handle sarcasm or honesty, then he's not for you. This class is for business majors and I can see how the scenarios/word problems correlate to real life problems. Don't miss class, and take notes.

Professor Gomez is an excellent teacher , if you work hard and ask him questions there is no way you can't make an A in his class. The exams are open ended so even if you answer a question partially right he'll give you points for it. I took the winter mini session & loved it. He gives extra credit and work sheets daily to help you out!

He is a great professor. Probably one of the two best math teachers I've ever had! He has a very thick accent, so it takes some getting used to. But his lectures are clear and he drops the 4 lowest quiz grades. TONS of homework, but its super short and doable. His tests and reviews are very similar. Definitely do those. He offers exam extra credit.

If you do the work, show up, take your quizzes and study there's no reason for you not to get an "A." Make sure you arrive on time because he does give you a quiz everyday of what you learned the previous class. He gives reviews for the exam, they count for a grade, and he will also give you the answer key for the quizzes/reviews.

Overall, Prof Gomez is a good professor if you like having someone stand in front of the board and thoroughly explain each problem. However, he is a strict grader. There are quizzes every morning and if you miss more than three they start counting as zeros. I missed the last week and it dropped my overall grade to an 89.1. He also won't bump grades

Prof Gomez is very strict and to the point! Explains well, sometime he speaks too fast, but the good part he follows with examples written on the board. Do your homework, practice home if you are not a "natural" in math 4 more than passing grade, review your notes + book, be on time in class for the quizzes. He wants u to pass but u must want it!

I made an A when I took him for 'Trigonometry' last semester ,& made a B when I took him for 'Precalculus' this semester. He's a great professor because he explains clearly and covers all the sections in class. All his quizzes and exams are open ended questions. Just study for the quizzes and the semester will be a piece of cake.

Take him if U want an easy A or B! The course content itself was very easy. For the summer semester he gave a quiz each day, so make sure you never skip class. His quizzes & exams are VERY straightforward, what he lectures in class is what you'll find on the tests except w/ different numbers, no hidden or tricky questions. Homework is on MyMathlab

He makes the content clearly understandable and straight forward, which is how I like my math classes instructed. The only thing is you must be present for class because he gives a quiz at the beginning each time.

Great class, great professor. He is tough though. You'll have a quiz every single class. And he gives 5 major tests during the semester. Lots of homework. If you go to class, do the homework, and get decent grades you'll be REALLY fine in this class. But don't ever have your phone out or let it ring, he'll kick you out immediately.

Mr. Gomez is a phenomenal teacher. Not the nicest person, but an absolutely fantastic teacher. He is very methodical and every day plays out exactly the same way. You take a quiz over the material from two classes ago. He grades the quiz from last class. You go over the material on the next quiz. He then lectures on new material. Repeat.

He 's excellent at explaining complicated problems in a simple, understandable, way. This is the first time I've ever understood Algebra and I give him credit for that. You do have to work hard to make an A but if you're really trying to learn the subject, I recommend his class.

I liked Professor Gomez. He was clear on the course outline and stuck to it. If you miss class you will fail as there are quizzes each class. There is a lot of online homework for this class that you need a code for. He explains everything very clearly and wanted his students to pass. JUST KEEP YOUR PHONES OFF and you will be fine.

Let me begin by saying that math is not one of my strong subjects. However, Mr. Gomez is an awesome professor and now I actually enjoy working Trigonometry problems. Contrary to other professors that just hand you an A and move you on, Professor Gomez really makes sure that you understand the material so that you can succeed in advanced courses.

Professor Gomez is able to explain Trig. A little tempered but he is just doing his job. Just try to show up to every class and you will be fine. STUDY hard because there are quizzes every class period. Most of the chapters are easy but it gets a little tougher. I go to the math lab for extra help. No phones allowed or he will kick you out.

I took Gomez for Intermediate algebra. Clear speaker, good handwriting, answers questions, gives partial credit, gives good feedback. He came in everyday with a list of techniques to teach and some problems to run through, then we got out at least 20 min early every day. MyMathLab for homework. 4 tests and a final. Absolutely no phones aloud.

Really straight forward professor, very good teaching skills. Be careful with your phone don't let him catch you using it or you done for the day. But overall really good professor I 100% recommend him, very good teaching skills, I never knew that math was that easy with him.

If anyone takes his class &doesn't pass it means that u were never mean to learn math in ur life. This professor explains in a way that anyone can understand. He explains as if u are a child. To fail his class requires one to be extremely dense. He is not kind or caring but his job is to teach and he is great at that. I suck @math & still got an A.

His class is very easy if you show up and look over your notes at least once. He is a very good, straightforward teacher. He doesn't hand out A's, but it is not hard to get. We have quizzes every day in this class, but he drops the lowest 4. If you miss a class, you fall way too far behind to catch up without extra help. Perfect amount of homework.

Makes math super easy, you get a quiz at the start of every class so be prepared to review the last class' material, try not to skip class. He gives out exam reviews which is the same as the actual exam so easy A. It's like getting taught math by a mad man but he makes it extremely easy, NEVER use your phone during lectures, he's very sassy.

I admire his style of teaching. I was nervous about this class but he explains the content thoroughly. The workload is significant but it helps your average in the long run. There are quizzes & homework practically everyday. 6 exams. If you access his previous content through the learning web youll be fine. Final review was EXACTLY like final.

He made reviews, but not for every test and didn't post them online which he did for previous years. He is accessible outside of class and will help you. We started this class Face to Face. Attendance was mandatory. There is a quiz at the beginning of every class. 4 exams and 1 Final. If you follow his lectures and do the work you will succeed. I am one of those students that sucks at math but came to realize that if I practiced I could grasp the concepts better. I took this class over the summer and I only attended one lecture. Professor Gomez posted the recordings for later viewing. EASY A if you complete your mathlab hw, 4 tests and 1 final which was 40% of grade but only 12 questions.

I took Professor Gomez for Math 1324 and Math 1325. I got a 100 in both of those classes. His explanations make the problems super easy and the reviews and homework are similar to exams. He's a funny professor, and if you have the chance to take him, please don't hesitate. The class is very well structured and grading criteria is clear.

Took this course last semester and was one of the easiest courses I've taken. Professor Gomez helps you easily understand the concepts and explains homework problems if you have any concerns. 4 Exams and Final Exam are all easy if you take notes and study. I took this class online anytime and Professor Gomez was very responsive whenever I needed help with any problems. He posts lecture videos in the media gallery that great and step-by-step. He also provides notes that go along with the lecture videos and does examples that are found on the homework. Highly recommend! :)

Overall a good teacher but you won't pass if you don't put the work in. We had a daily lecture then homework every night but you have till sunday to submit it . He provides an outline for every lecture & all notes that you take can be used for every test (including the final). He responds fast to emails& your final grade replaces your lowest test

Professor Gomez's class is mostly notes and problems he does on the board. He doesn't post videos online if you miss class so make sure you are there for each class. His lectures are very easy to keep up with and he is quite funny so you won't fall asleep. He answers whatever questions you ask with no problem. Wish he was an option for my next prof

He is very specific and goes step by step through ALL his problems. I took him over the summer and he was very easy to access out of classroom. He answered to all my questions with a good examples. He is a real gem. I loved him. If you are already good at math that will help a TON in his class. I passed with a 97. Totally recommend him.

He is a great professor. Answers questions but can be seen as rude sometimes. His lectures are helpful. Only need to do homework and exams. The homework can be done using mathway. Super easy. For exam he says he will use webcam, but didn't for us. If no webcam then super easy. Just finish the homework and do review, similar to exam. You will get A.

He does quizzes every day of class so beware of that. Dude is really uncaring about his students, it got on my nerves very fast. Often cusses in class, I don't care much abt it but someone might.

I really like him, he gives good lectures and notes that will help you with the test and quizzes. he does make you take a small quiz to review for your test and he does let you use calculator and gives you formula sheets

Dont listen to the other comments. Yes he swears but he is a good teacher, I passed calculus because of him. You HAVE TO READ to pass the class. He also gives Quizzes every day so be prepared. No Extra credits. If you dont understand something go to his office. I got a B in his class but he was fair.

Attending his lectures and reviewing the lesson notes is very helpful. Homework is pretty easy. Online had no quizzes, 4 tests, and a final, plus extra credit. If you do well on the final, Professor Gomez will replace your lowest test score with your final's score. He really does care that you learn and quickly replies to emails. Would take again!

Online, set on a schedule. Great professor! He is so funny and he teaches exactly to what will be on hmk and test. ( 4 Test & one is replaced by the lowest grade) If, I could pass this class with an A, then anyone can! you just have to take your notes and listen. If you do then you will do great in his class. He cares about his studentsTake him!

Professor Gomez was overall easy and understandable, he would just move very fast and was honestly hard to keep up. He's good with giving you partial credit. Although he made unnecessary comments he's a chill professor.

Great professor! Great at giving explanations and giving you all of the notes and material, you need for the test.Tiny quiz for 10-15 minutes at the beginning of each class. No multiple-choice questions, does the whole review. Partial credit on test. DO NOT be on your phone during his lectures or he will ask you to leave. Try not to miss a class!!

Professor Gomez is a decent professor that teaches well enough for most to understand the lessons. He is a tough grader on the daily quizzes and exams. He's a good professor with somewhat profane language. Just study regularly and do the Homework, and you'll be fine. It's not a hard class!

This professor was by far the best one I've taken at HCC for math. Everyone saying he's bad clearly didn't ask him questions, use the resources from the textbook, or even form a study group. He's hilarious, but yes does curse a bit.. Overall, I absolutely loved his class. He goes through everything step by step! TAKE HIM!!!

This professor is absolutely fantastic. He goes step by step through every single problem so it's impossible to get lost, and even if you do get lost, he will stop and explain how he got what he did. He does sometimes misunderstand what question is being asked of him, but once you're on the same page, he helps you understand. Would take again

Absolutely amazing professor that goes through problems step by step and the daily quizzes are actually very helpful and he drops the lowest 4 quizzes and quizzes and exams weigh the same so if you do bad on exam you should still be fine if you have done good on the quizzes

Very clear during lectures, sometimes class ends a little early, I personally think he is fair and will give partial credit when grading.

Professor Gomez so far has been the best professor I ever had. He breaks down each formula step by step and answers any questions you may have. He is also hilarious as and has a great sense of humor, there was never a dull moment in his class. He is strict on phones however, unless its an emergency he will kick you out of class if your on it.

He's a good professor but if you're soft don't take him. He teaches good but sometimes i need to study outside of class to understand.

Right off the bat Mr.Gomez has a no "funny business" approach to how he conducts his students, given that (at the time of taking his class) he's 80 years old. If you're accountable to making it to class on time, diligent on your notes, and not using your phone/yawning, class will pass like a breeze. Graded-classwork every day so don't miss class.

He is one of the best math teachers I've ever taken. I was skeptical at first because of his manner, but Gomez is really good at explaining and teaching math. Don't take his class if you're soft. He curses and can come off a bit rude, but he's good at grading. Assignments are easy. Pay attention in class. The grades were always viewable in Canvas.

I absolutely loved taking his class. He does use profanity so if you don't like that then I wouldn't recommend him. He's great at teaching lectures but be ready to take a quiz before every class. His tests are EXACTLY like the notes you take. I will be taking him again.

We had three exams and a cumulative final that replaced our lowest exam grade. He is super helpful and gives partial credit for questions. Make sure u practice!

My favorite professor. I came in to his class fresh out of high school worried that i would struggle with college math, but Mr. Gomez explained in a way that was not only easy to understand but also entertaining. Just keep in mind that he will make you do classwork based on a prior day's lecture. But you can get help from classmates and him.

Decent guy, just learn to have some thick skin. 5-week summer class for Trig, no textbook, just notes and graded in-class assignments. The test looks like questions done in class. Pay attention and take good notes and youll get an A. Try not to do anything obnoxious in class like use your phone or yawn loudly, he will embarrass you or kick you out.

He's crazy, but he is great! If you miss a class, you will start failing, there are daily quizzes that are easy but important. He talks a lot about wild things but he really gets the subjects done and understood, and he is funny in a weird way. I would take again 100%, made math simple!

This professor is no nonsense and that's what I like about his class. His lessons are concise, and he's quick to move onto new topics, so you'd better take notes if you wanna pass. You don't want to skip his class either. This professor has a very dry sense of humor that may not appeal to everyone and some may find his use of profanity offensive.

I enjoyed this class. He made lessons easy to understand & provided tools to help you be prepared. Pop quizzes every class and homework given after lessons that are due before you walk out. I know many people might find that alarming however, it did really help me take in everything we learned. He's mean so be aware if you don't have tough skin.

Took him for an online mini session- he's a little wild but he explains the lecture very well. No surprises with this professor; everything is just as he said and he does replace your lowest grade with your final exam grade.

I really liked his teaching style, what he tells you is exactly what you need to know. He is very straight forward. Also wouldn't recommend taking his class if you're soft he has no filter.

Straightforward lectures. He's got big boomer energy with a lot of opinions so if you don't like that don't take him. He is always there if you have questions. Be nice he's a bit older. If you have your phone out he will call you out, yell at you, and kick you out. Totally understandable, it's good to be respectful lol when someone is talking.

Although he can sound harsh to some, he takes the time to go over exactly what is needed. Doesn't tolerate phones, but at least lets us use calculators. Just do the work on time, and the class shouldn't be too hard. He may sound annoyed sometimes when he needs to repeat himself on how a problem works, but otherwise will go over it properly

Pete is a strict man, no phones! He comes across as a nut job. College algebra is fairly simple to most and he does a good job of explaining topics, if needed. Weekly quizzes initially seemed crazy but turned out a good way to make sure his students were attending lectures or completing homework assignments. Total of 5 exams including the final.

Professor Gomez is a no BS professor and he's clear on what he wants. He doesn't allow phones in class not even in his sight and if he hears it ring, he kicks you out. Quizzes are given at the beginning of every class. He cusses a lot if you mind that don't take him. Overall, he's a cool professor and his lectures are easy to follow

Gomez was a great professor and I was able to pass with an A in the class. Think of a woman on her . every day, but in guy form. He always has something to say. Quizzes every class period and test reviews are like the test. Do the review and you will be fine. Learning the material in this class was easy, and he took it step by step.

This is my second time taking his class, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The homework and reviews are the same as the test, so as long as you studied them you could ace his class. If you can get over his use of curse words and somewhat grumpy attitude, you will enjoy the class. He's 82 so give him some slack. He doesn't allow phones.

This professor wants you to succeed and is always willing to help you out if you are having trouble in class. As long as you study outside of class and do your assignments, you should be able to pass.
