Peterson was a great instructor! I took him for 2 of my psychology courses. He's one of those guys that really enjoys his work, and you look forward to seeing in class each day. I recommend taking him for your psyhology classes.

easiest class i've taken at jccc, he tests are easy, most of mine were take home which was nice but i dont think its like that with every class. very interesting if your gonna take hum dev take him!

Dr. Peterson was very organized, interesting, and helpful. He made it very clear what was on the tests. He did give us quite a few writing assignments and essay questions on tests, but, overall, his demands were not unreasonable.

Peterson is an engaging and energetic teacher. He states each point clearly and is very organized. The class is extremely easy and just as interesting. I definitely learned a lot. If you have to take any Psych classes, take Peterson.

Dr.Peterson is an outstanding teacher. He is great at making things clear. His tests can be hard(essay), but he gave us all of the questions beforehand to study. He is also understanding of legitimate trials that you may have during the semester, which is rare. I really recommend him. If you take him you'll love the class!

I am taking him right now and I think he is my favorite teacher I have ever had. He makes the material so interesting and has a lot of life experience. He makes me want to attend all his lectures.

Pete is by far the best instructor on campus. He has been my mentor and friend, and I have taken three classes and two honors contracts from him. My only disappointment is that he doesn't teach any more classes for me to take.

i loved this class, it was really good. hes a good professor and was very helpful. tests aren't that hard but you do have to study for them. REVIEW for the final!!!! those are my best words of advice..the final sucks if you dont study for it!!!

Pete is by far one of the best instructors that I've ever had. Tests are mostly essay but there are only about 7 questions each and you get a week or more to study for tests with the helpful study guides. I once turned in a paper late but Pete gave me full credit on it, and on one test I got more points than I think I deserved. Pete's the best!!

This teacher is great! He is so helpful and nice and willing to do anything for you. His tests are easy if you study the study guide and show up to class. I would def. recommend this teacher!!

This teacher is awesome! He is clear and actually wants you to learn. He makes the class fun and throws in some funny jokes too. He loves his family, he talks about them a lot. Study for the tests and you'll be fine. He gives out helpful study guides. Very helpful and understanding. TAKE HIM...you'll actually learn something instead of being bored.

Beautiful human. G-d knew what he was doing when he chose this guy to teach! He cares about his students -hes 100%. His study guides are great and if you study you will do well. I was so scared to go back to school and after taking his class I felt like I could do anything. He will teach you how to study as well.Awesome go Pete!

Great teacher, Great guy. Made the subject very interesting. Obviously loves to teach. I'd love to meet his family after hearing all the stories! But the stories all pertain to the subject. Very interesting, fun class. I wish I need another psych class just so I could have him as a teacher again.

Phenominal Professor. He has a gift for caring for others and wanting you TO SUCCEED something not all Professors possess. He teaches you what you need to know,pertains it to real life and you will remember it. Study guides are great. Great himan being other Professors should look up to.

This is one of the best instructors I've ever had. The questions on the test are given to you and all you need to due is review and memorize them. The papers are really easy and he doesn't even grade that hard. As long as you put in effort and try, you'll be fine.

My favorite teacher yet, u can tell he has alot of expirence in his field, alot of notes but test and papers are easy, he does hand out alot of A's.....he tells storys but is fun and very flexible with late assignments and missed tests...his class fills up quick

Awesome instructor.

I should have had a low grade in this class, but he is very lenient with late assignments and I ended up with an A. He tells you what questions will be on the test and then gives the answers so all you have to do is memorize them. Its kind of like in gym class where all you have to do is show up and you get an A.

Excellent teacher & speaker. Truly a gift to the college & students. Wish I needed another of his classes. Several papers required. No excuse for not getting a good grade in his class because he does such a good job preparing you for the content and you know what is expected of you. Because he's interesting, you will retain it. Good Person.

Do not take as a summer class. Can be overwhelming at first but he's a good guy. Expect to put a lot of effort in this class. He's big on essay type questions, papers, and reading assignments that require you to answer questions that are long & very descriptive and must be typed. He does give test questions in advance. You will work for that A.

Dr. Peterson knows his stuff. One of the best teachers i ever had. I took both Psychology, and Human Development. Very understanding. Attend all the classes because he explains everything in class. If you dont attend class and just copy notes from someone else you wont have as much to go by when the tests come around.

I didn't feel like I learned a lot but he does cover the material. He's not hard at all and is very relaxed as far as due dates go. I'd recommend him just because he's friendly and is not a hard teacher at all.

Dr Pete is great! He is funny and nice. He will take late papers and grades easy on the papers, just make a good effort and make sure that you FOLLOW all directions like having a APA Style citation. When he gives you the essay questions for the test, write out your answers and then just practice writing them over and over and you will get an A!

Peterson is a wonderful professor. I can't say enough good about him. I wish he taught more classes so I could take him again. Make sure to come to class, his tests are from the notes. You miss class you will not do good on his tests.

The way he presented material was always interesting. He used a nice combination of lecture, notes, and other visual aids to really clarify ideas. However, this class is a LOT of work. Be prepared to write several lengthy papers as well as at least five short essays per test. Taking complete notes is vital for doing well on his tests.

He's a tiny bit scatter brained but overall hes a very good teacher, he actually enjoys what he does which makes it so much easer to learn. He grades very easily & if you study for the tests there no way you cant get an A. i got 100% on EVERY test :)

go to class! everything that he lectures about is on the test! he has an outline for you to copy as he's lecturing...copy it! tests are really easy and he has occassional reading assignments that are really easy cause the answers are in the book. i really loved this teacher! and he's funny too! i'd definitely take from him again!

This class is a piece of cake! Just do the assignments and turn them in on time, but even if you don't get them in on time he'll still give you full credit. Pete is such an easy grader, it's pretty much completion credit. He always gives test essay q's ahead of time too! Human Devlp't is an interesting course and Pete is extremely knowledgable!

I enjoyed and learned a lot from his lectures and assignments. His illustrations and personal experiences were certainly great tools to learn from. Due to the work load from other classes, the assignments were sometimes overwhelming but i certainly learned a lot researching /doing them, so no complains. Great instructor and person. Highly recommen

Great teacher-very passionate-relates material to real life-makes expectations very clear-knows his stuff-papers to write but they flow with material being taught and help you grasp concepts-go to class,take notes, and use his study guide you will do great! I loved the teacher and the class.

I loved this class. Pete made it very easy to relate too the information, and a lot of real life examples. He is very willing to help if you ask him for it. He literally shows you the exact test questions before the test so you have no reason to not be prepared. There is so work involved but if you go and pay attentioon it is an easy A.

He is extremely knowledgeable about the topics and relates them to real life examples. Great advice and info for the future. It's not necessarily an easy class, but you will learn a ton and he will keep your interest well.

Just loved this class and prof. He has notes on the overhead so it is easy to take notes. He makes his expectations clear, and loves his subject! What you learn in this class will probably be more useful to you in real life than any other class you take.

WONDERFUL teacher. Organized, direct and informantive. Makes real life connections to subject matter....And changed my life in many ways. I am an older student and his class was like therapy for me. he use self life-span to be examples on teachin. There are six papers a semester. exam will contain 2-4 essay question. Besides that, everything is interestin. Plz attend to class cuz' he will show some video for essay Q without schedule. He is a excellent teacher. I'm glad he lets me be interested in PSYC. Recommend!

I took his class over the summer and loved it (and it was in the morning!) He had great stories and easily related to current life... it wasn't just a class taught from the textbook. He's also really funny. Not a lot of projects or big things to worry about, and the exams weren't too hard. Take a class from him!!!!

Peterson is a terrific professor. He tells really good stories to illustrate information being taught. Do not think this will be a knock-off class; it is a lot of work. You will have several summaries to write and a large writing project (mine was 20 pages). He tells you what you need to know for the tests. Study and you will do fine.

He is an amazing teacher, he tells a lot of stories about his life through out the class and they are great stories. He is a fair grader and doesn't put a lot of weight on attendance, of course you don't want to miss the class. I looked forward to it everyday. The tests and final were fairly easy, So were the assignments.

Awesome teacher! Can lecture his butt off and keep you entertained the whole way through. He does require a bit of writing though. Close to 3 pages a week. Although he grades very fair and exams and the final are a sinch. He makes himself very approachable and is always willing to talk to help in any way he can. I would recommend him highly!

Pete is awesome! He is an easy grader and will work with you if you talk to him ahead of time about missing class. He doesn't use ANGEL so keep all of your work. I originally had a B as my final grade. He said he was missing a test and a couple of major assignments so I had to take them into him and he changed it to an A. Kind of unorganized.

Mr. Peterson makes coming to class fun. His lectures are interesting and helps you to learn the material. He gives A LOT of busy work but if you make an effort and do it you will get a good grade. Highly recommend.

Peter is a great professor with LOTS of stories that relate to everything you learn. He loves to talk, so sit down, take notes, and the hour passes by so quickly with his colorful stories. Take note, take notes, take notes (even side notes from what he puts up). He requires a lot of writting and test have lots of short essays on them.

Great professor!!! You have to take a lot of notes and his lectures are long but very interesting! There is a LOT of busy work/homework but he grades super easy on it all; I have gotten 100% literally on every assignment I have turned in (on time). He is super nice, but no slacking off! I would definitely take him again for a psychology class!

Easy 'A'... Class went like this: 50 min of note copying - He puts his notes on the overhead and student copies them down. He tells personal stories to each Psyc topic. No book needed for his class; it was a waist of money since he never uses it. 5 or so long to really long papers due throughout semester. Tests are 95% Essay.

Dr. Peterson is an excellent instructor! His lectures are really interesting and he gives real life examples, which is very helpful. He provides students a visual for notes, he uses a typed document. I am a visual learner, so I appreciated the visual. He is hilarious and an expert at knowledge of this subject. He is there for his students. support.

he changed the syllabus this semester and we had to write 15 papers instead of 5. some of the study guides are 5 times longer than the tests, which is frustrating. if you email him, he will be there for you. a lot of busy work. it was a struggle for me, but I made it out alive. would take with him again. you just have to put in effort.

Loved him! This class is an easy A if you put in the effort to pay attention, study, and do the assignments. There are 4 short papers and 1 big one. If you follow his directions you should get 100% on all of them. He tells you what the essay questions on the test will be in advance. Study and memorize those answers in detail. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Peterson has a vast knowledge of psychology and it shows in his teaching style and lecture style. He gives great feedback on papers for his course and uses a typed note template in his lectures, which is helpful in being able to follow along. His real life examples help to provide further background of the class. Take him and you WILL succeed!

Nice man, bad teacher. Get ready to read the whole textbook, and take a lot of notes; If you don't you wont pass. His tests are ridiculously hard, if you aren't a good test taker I wouldn't take him. He gives lots of short answers and expects you to be able to regurgitate them from the notes verbatim. I didn't learn a thing, just how to memorize.

Amazing teacher and amazing person, cannot stress this enough. Lectures are both entertaining and informative, so it's easy to remember content during the tests-- even so, tests can be a little difficult (read: studying is 100% necessary). There's one very big essay as well as a few other small written assignments, but they're not too taxing.

Dr. Peterson was amazing. I could sit and listen to him lecture all day. Great stories that are applicable to the course. There are homework assignments due throughout the course, but they do not take long to complete. Tests are mostly essay questions that are not hard if you take notes during the lectures. Pete is great! Very compassionate professor. He shares stories from his years of research and work in the field, and they are relevant to the class. Tests are easy if you study. A few writing assignments that are pretty easy as well. He gives clear directions, and wants students to succeed. One minor complaint is that he talks about autism a LOT.

Pete Peterson is awesome!! His lectures are very interesting and relevant because he works as a psychologist and has experiences that he shares. Tests are based off of lecture notes, NO BOOK AT ALL. You can miss class but make sure you get notes from someone for the tests. There are 4 tests, and 5 writing assignments along with the final. Easy A!!

I really enjoy his class. He is older man type attractive. :) He gives great real life examples during lectures which help me to understand. He has a great attitude. 5 essays and 5 or so tests all semester. No text book, so notes are helpful. Study guides given before tests with two essay questions.

Amazing professor! Would 100% recommend him. He gives a lot of examples to help better understand the material which include really interesting stories. There are a lot of papers, but they are interesting and not too difficult. Tests are not terrible, mostly multiple choice besides a few essay questions.

He's an amazing professor and gives really good lectures with examples that are easy to understand. He doesn't post his notes online you MUST show up to class or at least have someone give you the notes because without them you will fail. His Test reviews are very helpful, everything on them will be on the test.

Hes an amazing professor! But he lectures every class except two and doesnt really involve the class unless someone has a question. He also didnt really learn anyones names at all which made it seem like he didnt really care much about us but he does love his job and he is good at helping relate to certain situations he teaches with stories!

Peterson is like a breath of fresh air. Hes so energetic and exciting. I never wanted to miss one of his classes because I always wanted to see what he would talk about next or what stories hed tell. He was absolutely amazing. The tests and the five papers are the only assignments in the class so you have to pay attention and show up to pass.

This professor is hilarious and very entertaining. There are five involved papers that are work-intensive. The last paper is my favorite! He tells the craziest stories in class and we often get off topic! I was expecting this class to be very hard, but it was not. There is no textbook needed for this class anymore, which is nice!

He is the best professor I have had so far and he is so understanding and give extensions on assignments when absolutely needed. He doesnt believe in textbooks anymore so u dont need to buy/rent. Professor Peterson is a very good professor. You can tell he really enjoys math and enjoys teaching. He will answer any questions and he also uploads his slides from the lectures which help. If you do the homework and listen in class it is not a hard class. The tests take exact problems from the homework, no surprises.

His class consists of writing papers over lectures he's typed for the class. SUPER EASY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS CLASS! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I took his Human development class during covid, so it was online. To make sure we don't cheat on tests he made us do essays. Every week we had to do one easy. Most students would average around 4-5 pages when mine was around 7-10. If you are bad at writing essays, DO NOT take this class. I am good at essays so I ended with 100%. I would recommend.

Peterson is the professor you want for this class. I took his class online during covid and ended up only missing 2 points the whole semester. All the points come from papers. They aren't hard, but they can be lengthy. Its an easy class, but you learn a lot and his lectures are very funny and insightful. Highly recommend.

This professor knows what hes talking about and is super kind and funny. There are a lot of papers in his class but you get lots of time to write them. He mainly uses PowerPoints to lecture and sometimes videos and movies. He engages the class and is easy to talk to. What a great man!

Very kind professor! His lectures are very fun to listen to and notes are easy to follow. The assignments given are quite long and we had essay-question heavy exams, but he walks through the answers the day before in class. If you put effort into your work and know what you're talking about then the A is quite easy. I really felt like I learned!

Let me start by staying that Peterson is a great professor that only wants you to succeed. Not only is he teaching human development, he uses this knowledge everyday working in the community as a psychologist. Homework does take forever but if you just put forth effort and show him you care about your work you will get an A in the class.

Professor Peterson has been my favorite professor this semester. I wish he taught more classes! He has interesting lectures with interesting assignments. There were only 10 assignments total and all of them are typed papers, a couple of them included videos to watch. If you put in the effort you'll get an A.

Professor Peterson is amazing at giving lectures and grasping his students attention. Moreover, he always finds a way to connect the topics discussed in class to his life. As long as you take good notes and pay attention in class, it should be an easy A.

EVERYTHING you take notes over will be on test. Lectures are not boring. Nothing is online, all paper. Goes over test questions before test and always provides a study guide.

Prof. Peterson presented the course materials in a way that was easy to follow, graded assignments quickly, left thoughtful feedback, helped students when they reached out, and actually cared if his students succeeded or not. Rather than completing quizzes and tests, he had his students write essays, which made understanding the topics much easier.

Overall, Peterson was an 11/10 professor!! He responds extremely fast to emails and is always there if you have questions. Basically, if you complete the work on time, you will get a grade of 100% in this class. However, there is a lot of reading and writing involved---mainly just busy work.

Amazing professor!! Actually cares about his students and replies very fast as well as grading. Lectures are never boring, and easy to follow. Whatever you are taught in class is what will be in the test so there is no surprises. I took Dr. Peterson's winter session class and am so glad I did. His lecture notes are engaging and he doesn't give homework or tests. Your grade is based on a series of essays, which are more time-consuming than challenging. If you put in a real effort, you will do well. I would take another course with him in a heartbeat.

A teacher who has in-depth research on human development courses, is patient, treats students very well, does not make things difficult for students, and graduates easily.

Dr. Peterson was one of the most flexible teachers I have ever had, and his class was enjoyable and informative. His exams were written exams, and if I ever felt I needed a few more hours to write more or do more he was very understanding. His goal is comprehension and effort. He gives wonderful feedback and truly cares about his students.

Prof. Peterson runs a great class - engaging lectures, thoughtful feedback, and a focus on learning over busy work. The essays can be time-consuming, but using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook makes exam prep a breeze. Highly recommend this course!

Dr. Peterson's class was amazing. He is an amazing professor who makes the class come to life and turns a somewhat boring topic into one that is fun. I would HIGHLY recommend taking him for Psych 218. However, be ready for lectures and writing papers.

I took this class on super short notice, and professor peterson was more than willing to accommodate me. This class used prior knowledge from the previous psychology classes, and it was really fun to write the assignments, as they were all mostly based on your personal life experiences. There is really no reason you should not walk out with a 100%

Dr. Peterson is truly amazing, I loved having him as a prof. He's one of the weirdest, most unhinged people I've ever met, in the best way possible. Be prepared to hear the most insane stuff and craziest stories completely out of the blue. He is super funny and radiates intelligence. LOTS of writing, but if you enjoy science/psych, you'll enjoy it.

He's very flexible and understanding with assignment due dates. It was a very easy class, just submit the assignments and you'll do well.

One of the best educators I've ever had. Peterson exudes intelligence and passion for his work. He is very personable and is open about his life experiences, his story is so inspiring. For the class itself, grades are based solely on writing papers and take home exams. Assignments are time consuming but with proper preparation it's easy to get an A

Pete Peterson has been the best professor I have ever had. I 100% recommend him! I ended the class with 100%, he is very easy grader as long as you participate. Little homework, and he loves getting to know the students!

Very easy class. at the beginning of the semester he had asked us about ourselves and each week we would have questions of the week as homework he would email us back with something on the lines of "Nice 25/25" although one time I wasn't to specific so he told me I should add more but still gave me a 25/25 on the assignment. I definitely recommend!

He is a great professor. Super easy class. Just do the assignments. There aren't many. This was a stress-free class. I am taking as many of this man's classes as I can. He is pretty nice also.
