Peter is truly phenomenal. His background in business and law make him one of the most interesting professors at UML. Take whatever class you can with him. You will not regret it. Peter wants to see his students succeed and will give helpful career advice. Do you work on time, go to class, and you will pass. Best professor ever!!
Peter is one of the best Professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and goes out of his way to see them succeed. The discussions are very interesting and he always gave real world examples from his years of experience in business and law. I highly encourage anyone to take one of his courses, you will be happy you did.
He seriously cares about all students. He wants everybody to succeed in the class. No text book, but we used only case studies which we're roughly $3-$5 per case. Spent roughly $40 on case studies for the whole semester. Participating in class is the key to a good grade. 2 papers, 1 midterm, no final. Highly recommend this class!
Such an interesting man. Professor Adler is an amazing teacher who actually worked in the field. Many interesting stories about business law that actually keep the class intrigued. Instead of a textbook we used engaging case studies that help understand specific aspects of international law. He teaches law classes that you won't dread.
I took International Business with Peter and it was an amazing class. He is a good guy with the experience needed to teach the course. The course itself is not too difficult if you pay attention to the in class discussions.
Peter is a great teacher, he truly wants his students to succeed. His background and experience are relevant to international business. His motivation to teach is based on the fact that he is in his self actualization period of life. This guy isn't some failed accountant who couldn't get a real job, he teaches because he wants to give back.
Peter is a great guy with an awesome attitude. Peter creates a friendly atmosphere and encourages you to ask questions, and is not shy to admit he doesn't know the answer to a question. The class is mostly discussion based around the articles you will read. If you read the articles, show up to class, and engage in the conversation you will succeed.
Great guy ! He works with people to teach the way they learn and is very excited by students who truly enjoy the class. He's had some real world experience, so it's refreshing to hear from a real genius everyone enjoyed him. He understands the concept that students are the customers.
Peter is one of the best professors I've ever had. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed inside and outside of his class. The work load is very manageable/interesting and there's no text book. His experience in both law and business really improve the class. Wish I could take another class with him.
Peter is a great professor and mentor and will help you get internships and jobs. He also brings in a guest from around the world to share their expertise. He also wants you to succeed as a student. He cares about being a good teacher and will take feedback on how to improve. Overall Pete is a great person but also a great professor.
Peter is an amazing professor! He truly cares about his students. Topics in class are interesting and fun to learn. He gives examples through his own life experience, has guest speakers, and assignments are not overloaded so this class is not stressful. Show up, do the readings, and participate and you are sure to get an A. Glad I took this class!
Peter was inspirational. Has a passion for teaching. International Business was VERY interesting to take. I would recommend this to anyone that needs an elective! Attend class, study the chapters, participate and do the work and you will get a good grade. The only downside, his tests are VERY challenging, so study hard! I would take him again.
I took international Law with Peter Adler and what I like most was that the content was relavent to what was actually going on in the world. He was very insightful and has lived a long amazing life that is far from boring to listen to him talk about his many careers.
Inspirational teacher, one of the best I've ever taken. Allows you to select topics based upon interest and rewards those who discuss during class. Not only a great professor but a genuinely great person!
Awesome Professor. Has a very interesting background and you can benefit from hearing his experiences. Participation makes the class much more enjoyable so be ready to share stories, opinions, and ideas.
He clearly cares about his students, he shows that through the thoughtful discussions he sponsors in his class. I had him in international law and his interesting background in business added another dimensions to the class discussions.
Professor Adler makes a solid effort to help students. He really wants students to succeed and will make time in and out of class to help.
Great class! Professor Adler is a great guy and I loved taking both international business and international law with him.
I enjoyed the class and can appreciate the combination of informational lectures and the overall classroom atmosphere. I really liked Professor Adler's teaching style. He was very friendly and answered emails outside of class. I appreciate his knowledge and work experience. We had interesting speakers, some of which were outside of the country.
YOU WONT regret taking his class !!
Ive taken both MGMT4400 and LGST3660 with Professor Adler and he is one of the best professors I've had at UML. Everything is very straightforward and as long as you participate and pay attention you will do well. His extensive experience in both fields is very interesting and informative during class discussions
Such a great class. Some topics may be a little slow but others are very current. Loved the teacher, he was very understanding and wanted everyone to do well. Take the class!!
The majority of his class assignments are reading through case studies that are then to be discussed in class, followed by a write up to be passed in at the end. The write-ups are no problem, provided you actually do them. He's also very negotiable in regards to... just about anything in the class, really.
Over all this was a great class. Peter is very flexible. He cares about the students comprehension of the. material and is willing to make accommodations in order to ensure that everyone reaches proficiency in the subject matter, while not going crazy with their busy schedules.
Great Professor! One of the best I have ever had. Aside from being a great professor, he is also and amazing person. Really cares for his students. He does not only teach off the book or slides but also shares personal experiences and relates them with the topic that we are learning. I found that to be more helpful and meaningful. Great Experience!
Great teacher, learned a lot about international business. Few assignments, 2 written case studies, one paper, midterm and final
I truly enjoyed my classes with Peter. He's extremely knowledgeable about his subjects and earned his learning from the best schools in the world. He genuinely cares about his students learning and that's RARE on this campus. Make sure to attend his lectures and do well on essays because they play a big part in grading. Really an amazing professor!
Peter Adler is one of the single best professors I have had. It is tragically rare to find an educator with a passion to teach as well as an incredibly in depth knowledge of so many subject matters. The format of the class allowed for great discussion; not having to buy a book either was a big bonus. I can not recommend Professor Adler enough.
Peter is an amazing professor at UML, he has a better understanding of his students what students like or dislike. He has an extraordinary background in law and his resume is phenomenal. He has lot of connections all around the world. In class he takes attendance, likes everyone to participate, there is no text book but case studies and 1 final pap
I had Peter for a study abroad trip to Denmark this Summer, and I got to know him rather well. I can say without a doubt that Peter is one of the most caring professors I have met. He truly loves to teach. While he may not always be the most specific teacher, he is fair, honest and wants to see you succeed. Overall, not tough but participate!
I really enjoyed Professor Adler's class. He was a great professor who was able to keep class interesting and teach us a lot, without us feeling overwhelmed with work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone interested in his class.
We love peter, our whole International Business Class in Copenhagen was a success because of him. He is not only a great professor but a good mentor. He will give you feedback on your work, he is an easy grader but all the assignments he gives us in class, there is lot to learn from him. And please don't make any bloopers in his class!! Best Profes
Peter is a great caring professor, he will do everything in his ability to set the students for success in class and even after the course. Highly knowledge about the field with great integration of real life experiences .
Lectures were very engaging and interesting. Highly recommend
Great professor who really cares about his students and what we learn. Great background in international business and has many friends who he uses to bring a fresh and diverse perspective on international business. Really interesting class.
Easy class, Go to class and you will be all set, best prof in UML
Absolutely amazing professor. If you try in his class you will do great. I learned a lot both from him and also some amazing guest lecturers he brought. All business majors and legal studies minors should take his class.
Professor Peter is a real Internatonal businessman. If you are not only interested in learing on books but you want to learn from the personal experience of someone who was working at Wall Street and run one of the first e-commerce comapnies this is the class you should choose.
The best professor i've had until now. Very experienced and has amazing knowledge in what he teaches and shares in class. His classes are filled with guest lectures and cases. exams are completely based from class discussions, cases and guest lectures. Very helpful and can reach him out at any point of time.
Varied and interesting cases. General overview over several topics related to international law. Perfect as an introduction to law.
I took International Law with Professor Adler, the cases we studied provided a good foundation about the general issues of Int. Law. He is very committed with the success of his students inside and outside the classroom.
Professor Adler took a role of advisor/mentor this past Spring, where he was very willing to help me plan and pave my future into the field of international Business Law. Because of him I was invited for an interview with a law firm in Boston to which I may secure a job and or an internship. I am looking forward to taking his class in the future!
One of the best professors at UML. Your class participation does matter at the same time. Keep participating - Grades are curved - Two case studies might seem a bit time consuming, but worth it !
This was an easy class. There was about 10 case studies and you are supposed to choose two of your preference and do a writeup. Two exams; one midterm and one final, you get to do the exam on your laptop/phone in class. Everything is posted on BB and the professor is very helpful and willing to meet with you at any time. ALL GRADES ARE CURVED.
Professor Adler cares about his students and it shows in his teaching. He lectures a lot, but highly encourages participation from the class. It leads to an open environment where students get to know each other better. He also has a lot of personal experience with the subject, so you're able to learn from his personal life. Overall, great prof!!
Great professor!! Easy class. Knows a lot about International Business!! One Midterm, two papers, one Final. No presentation. Would retake it!
Best Professor at Umass Lowell! I would highly recommend taking any of his courses. Professor Adler is very knowledgeable and is very excellent at relating the class to his real-world experiences. You can tell he cares about the education of all his students. Fun class enjoyed how students are encouraged to participate.
Every class you would have to prepare by reading either a chapter or a piece from the Harvard business school about a specific issue. As long as you read the material and participate in class you will be fine. The cases are interesting and the professor has good insight from his years in the field. I highly recommend the class as wells Adler.
Professor Adler is interesting and knowledgeable. Take him if: You are comfortable with participating a little every class (self-graded as participated or not). You actually read assigned reading, most importantly, reviewing the cases before case days. You want to learn about how he sold sunglasses online.
Prof. Peter is a AWESOME professor. I would take countless classes with him. He has an awesome way of teaching that makes you really understand the subject. The subject is not supper easy but the way he teaches it makes you really get it. He is supper helpful and answers emails quickly. Class consists of 2 exams, cases and 2 papers. Amazing class.
The professor is a great guy, Id love to take classes with him again. The tests are hard though. Just go to class and participate, youll earn an easy A or B. Overall, great class.
By far the best teacher I have ever had at UMass Lowell. He helped me learn the material and also helped me get comfortable in the class. I spoke more in his class than any class before. I wish he taught more than 2 classes Ive taken him twice and wish to take him again if possible
amazing pro I've never met before. he is so nice and pizza for last class.
Take a class with Prof. A if you can! In his class' calm and focused atmosphere, you can use and deepen prior knowledge and will get uniquely detailed feedback. You'll learn through a)great lectures incl. personal experiences, b)(productive!) group work, and c)the best guest lectures. You have to read, prepare, and participate, but it's so worth it!
Very successful individual with real world experience. He constantly incorporates his real life experiences into his teachings and does so very nicely. Inspirational individual whom you can learn a lot from if you take the time to do so. Make sure you always participate and read the cases and you will do well. Best of luck to all!
great professor. loved his class and would take any class he is teaching again. highly recommend
Professor Adler is the best and most caring professor I have ever had at UML! He really cares about his students and if you have problems in class he is always there to help you out. Case studies were fun to learn and some of them weren't easy but Professor Adler made it easy for us to understand. Reading case studies before class is recommend.
Amazing professor with a passion for teaching, living and breathing law. Take Professor Adler just for the opportunity to meet him.
Great professor with no real surprises when it comes to class execution. Be prepared to purchase Harvard Business Review articles as they are a large part of the course.
Overall, great Professor. Very clear/organized with his teaching and how he structures his class. Explains material very thoroughly and gives a lot of real life experiences and relates them to the material. This makes it so much easier to learn. Provides excellent feedback/guidance. If you actually want to learn I highly recommend Professor Adler.
Took him for int. business. Great professor, caring, understanding, and passionate about teaching. All you have to do is participate, two one-page case briefs, and two exams. Would definitely take again!
One of the best professors at UML.
I took Professor Adler for International Business and he is a good professor. He often incorporates his personal experiences relating to the material in lectures making the concepts easy to grasp. Grade is based on 2 exams and 2 case write ups. Attend class, read the case studies and participate in the class discussions and you will do well
Hands down the best teacher at UML. He is 1 of the only prof. to go above/beyond when it comes to students. He will give career advice, and inspiration to all. He is very well respected, and if you take this class you'll see why. Make sure to read the case studies and come to class prepared to talk! This is a professor you definitely have to have!
Alright class. Really nice guy, but kind of boring in his lecture style. His life stories and experiences are interesting.
Professor is a very nice person. His lectures a very helpful and the homework is not heavy and help you to prepare for class.
Professor Adler has tons of experience and a fascinating background that really bring a lot of life to his lectures. This was his first time teaching Intro to Business Law, so there was a learning curve, but he did a good job and corrected himself if he did something wrong. Very honest and full of integrity.
Great professor, one of the best I've had at UML
Professor Adler is one of the best at UML. He truly cares about student performance and wants you to succeed. He is very knowledgeable in his subject field, which creates for interesting lectures. Performance evaluation is very clear, and he offers a wide variety of evaluation types (I.e. tests, essays, case studies). I definitely recommend!
Interesting discussions! Be prepared to read the materials, so you can involve in the class discussions. He gives useful feedbacks and not too hard exams.
Awesome teacher. Knows the material very well and seems to care deeply that students actually learn it instead of just memorizing it to regurgitate for tests.
Easy going teacher that wants you to succeed, as long as you do the homework and study for tests you should be fine. He tends to scale grades.
Great real world knowledge applied to class, brought in interesting guest speakers
Professor Adler brought a lot of first-hand knowledge and guest speakers with real world experience to the class. The workload was very manageable but assignments were interesting, and most classes had a discussion portion that was interesting and a good break from lecture.
I took professor Adler for both international law and intro to business law and really enjoyed both classes. The material is interesting, and the professor is very knowledgeable on both subjects from personal experience. guest speakers were great. Prof cares about his students and will help you as long as you participate
Peter is a great professor and person, I would recommend getting to know him as he is full of knowledge and experience. I would take every class he offers, he truly enriches the learning that is in the curriculum.
Professor Adler was my favorite professor Ive had so far! Hes a great teacher and extremely helpful. He values his students and really cares about what he is teaching.
I was in his first class for Business Law, but he knew what he was talking about. His voice is very quiet and monotone, but occasionally he tells interesting, funny stories. My only complaint is that his assignments are a bit spontaneous and are sent over email. Participation is recorded by an online poll program. Attendance mandatory.
One of the best professors I've ever had in Umass Lowell! If you are interested in study abroad, you should definitely take International Business in Denmark. Really worth the experience, and the course itself is very interesting. He's incredibly nice and considers everyones ideas during group discussions! Come prepared and you'll do great!!
Professor Adler is one of the nicest professors at the university. He makes sure the assignments are clear and is always willing to help out other student. He is also a very funny guy if you pay attention in class.
Professor Adler does a great job about making sure you know what you are supposed to do in class. If you read the cases and take some kind of notes in the class you should do alright. Overall, very funny and nice guy, who is always willing to help others and the class is pretty interesting.
he is one of the best profs in the UML school he is an awesome guy. no presentation, a couple of papers which must be submitted online, and 2 exams which is online ( Blackboard), and must be taken during class time.
Professor Adler is a caring person and truly wants everyone to succeed. All the materials that you need are provided to you minus a few articles you need to buy offline for $5. There are 1-2 papers a week (no longer than 2 pages double spaced). Super interesting material and he puts his own experiences into the text. I would love to have him again!
Literally the best professor EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peter Adler, I STAN you!!!!
Professor Adler is a great teacher, and give you plenty of chances to participate in class and to succeed. There are weekly assignments and case studies, but they're not difficult at all. You may stumble upon a few cases as well that are worth the read, and also make sure to be prepared for class. His lectures don't last long either.
I went with Professor Adler abroad on a three week trip to Denmark and he was the best professor to travel with. He did a great job blending classes and sightseeing throughout the trip. We learned a lot inside and outside of the classroom. If you ever have the chance to travel or just take a class with Professor Adler, don't miss the opportunity!
Professor Adler is by far the best professor I have ever had, not only he teaches the course, but also he makes sure to make a personal connection with everyone and help on a personal level. The class is chill, but is an assignment for each class and participation is very important and graded every class.
I took two courses with him and would take more if there was any .. very nice and experienced professor!
I recommend any student to take Professor Adler. He does not ask for much but for you to be ready and participate in class. His class is rewarding because he brings in guest speakers to speak to you about their experience working international. This is a great class to take if you are looking for a management elective to fill in. Great Professor.
He is a great professor. There were two exams and two case briefs assignments. Easy A if you read, do the assignments, and participate in class.
International Business with Prof. Adler was great! Peter has a lot of international background and cares for his students. I learned a lot, and the material was very interesting. Not too difficult - reading the textbook helps to reinforce the material. Exams are scaled. Overall, great course material and great professor!
Peter is the best professor in UML I ever have. He curved if you show care for the class and respect. Mid Term and Final, two short paper, and regular homework. EASY A and helpful professor.
Professor Adler has been one of my favorites at UML. He is super sweet, and is super accommodating to any issues or questions you may have regarding the class or life . I had him for International Business in the fall and will be taking him again online in the spring because I liked him so much. 10/10, show up and read the ppts and you'll be set
Take International Business with Professor Adler (Peter) - you won't regret it! Peter is very accommodating to students' needs. He brings in 3-4 guest speakers every semester which really adds value to the course. Peter has many many personal experiences and stories to tell and that's what makes his class so relatable and interesting.
Professor Adler is a really genuine guy who clearly cares about student success. Come to class prepared by doing the readings and you'll have no problem. A lot of the class tends to be driven by student participation over a traditional lecture, so be ready to discuss. Great incorporation of guest lecturers too.
Peter is a great professor. He expects you to do your work but he isnt out to get you. You will pass his class. He gives a lot of informative stories that are both entertaining but also teach you something. Exams are tough but again, the last thing he wants is for you to fail. Points given daily for attendance, short assignments, and participation
Peter is a great professor, I have taken him for two courses. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed moving forward with their career. His classes are very interesting and he has really good connections that he will offer you to help his students get a job or an internship.
Professor Adler is a very kind and caring professor. He has great career experiences he connects to the lectures and even brings in a few guest lecturers (also great). The class is mostly case studies, two short papers and a midterm/final. If you show up and listen + participate you'll do fine.
I have taken international law and international business with professor Adler. It was a wonderful time being in those classes. Learned a lot of material and real-life experiences from the professor. The professor has also recommended me to the Ceo of a Danish Company for a full-time job which was very helpful.
Highly recommend this course!! The professor is very passionate about this course. He is very inspirational and loves to tell his class about his interesting travels abroad. The case studies required in the course are very interesting which lead to interesting discussions. He also brings in many guest speakers which provide valuable information.
Great professor, take any class have. Show up participate and do the assignments and you'll get an A. H'es very understanding that you have a life outside of school.
Great professor! He really cares about making his class better and more interesting so don't be afraid to express how you feel.
Professor Adler is an individual very devoted to his craft. He does not ask for much but he gives back tenfold. He exposes students to notable guest speakers within different areas of law, and even has a pizza party at the end of the semester and gives the opportunity to go to Copenhagen for an abroad atmosphere.
Prof. Peter is one of the best professors I've ever had. His grating criteria is clear, show up to the class, do the assigned hw (not much), participate in class and you will definitely get a A. He brings important topics to be discussed in class and he cares what about our feedback. I wish I could take him again. You Rock Professor!
Very interesting class consisting of articles, guest lectures, two one-page papers, and two exams. You learn more in-class than from the text as he discusses the chapters and related articles further, plus there are always class discussions. Would take a class with Professor Adler again if I wasn't in my last semester!
Professor Adler is one of the special professors that truly cares about your success as a student. He is more than willing to help his students with career choices and is always happy to talk. I recommend him to any student who wants to do well and cares about his or her studies. Participate in class and write many drafts of any submitted writings!
Amazing professor! Knows what he is talking about. Lectures can seem a little boring but everything he says or every slide is easily understandable. A bit controversial in terms of politics, he will let you know about his dislike for President Trump numerous times during class. Other then that, would take it again if I could!
Professor Peter Adler, he is the most awesome guy I have ever seen. he is very nice, with a big heart. He is truly knowledgable. the class is pretty easy, two online exams, no presentation, some HW which is online and so easy to be done. during class, we can talk about all problem, issue and so forth freely without any concern. He is just amazing
He rocks!
Professor Adler is one of the most respectful professors at Umass Lowell. He is very supportive, helpful. I was in needs of a letter of recommendation for graduate school in Canada and did it for me perfectly. Also, Professor Alder gives students real feedback and helps students to improve themselves.
Professor Adler is the best professors! I took both International Business and International Law class. Both are easy, all you need is participate in the class, read the cases (it's short), two online exams. Peter is very supportive and helpful when I need recommendations for my graduate school and future careers suggestion! Great Guy! Easy A!
Professor Adler is one of the greatest and respectful professors that I know at UML. I took his International Law (online class) this semester and honestly it was my favorite class out of all. Although, it is a 300+ level course, Prof. Adler would still try to break things down for us to understand and he also made his class fun/enjoyable.
A really great Professor, one of the best! He is extremely accomplished and has great lecture material despite the fact that the class is only online. Some online courses feel 'non-interactive' and highly monotonous. His material was very interesting and he gives great feedback. He is a particularly good professor if you want to improve writing.
Incredibly nice guy! Really cares about his students, especially international ones. Lectures are well prepared and always very interesting.
Peter is one of the greatest guys I have ever met. He is super genuine and cares a lot about his craft, no matter what it is. I took him multiple times and he is one of my favorite professors.
good prof
Professor Adler is a very friendly and interesting man and I suggest this class to anyone who enjoys traveling and wants to know more about the laws in different countries. The course starts with historical background and then leads into a handful of fascinating but controversial topics! There is no textbook but reading of cases is required.
This professor is the kind of professor that really wants you to get something out of the course. Hes great at communicating and has a positive attitude towards his students! Highly recommend you to take his course!
Professor Adler is awesome and always wants to help his students. I was able to take one of his classes in person (international business) and one class online (international law). He was great for both classes (in person was a little easier). Definitely recommend him to any student. Show up and put a little effort in and you'll do well.
Overall a great teacher, I took his International Business class and learned a good amount by reading each case and coming to class prepared. I didn't read the textbook every time, but I recommend skimming it/lightly reading, and allocating more time to case studies. I recommend taking Prof. Adler!
Professor Adler is amazing. He invites many guest speakers that will blow your mind. He and his life story is also very inspirational. He will bring in real world people who have done admirable and inspirational things within their career and he will tell you about his life and give some real world advice. The homework are not hard but frequent.
Extremely nice guy, probably one of the nicest professors I ever had. Easy to get a good grade, just participate and submit the assignments. Highly recommend
Peter Adler was an amazing International Law professor. I enjoyed the class immensely because the instruction was clear and the feedback was constructive. I reached out to Professor Adler nearly a year after taking his class for a letter of recommendation for my masters program and he went above and beyond to help me out.
Professor Adler was an amazing Professor. I learner a lot about international business from the course. Professor was easy to talk to at all times. We did many case studies and all were easy. Great teacher easy class
Great professor with a great personality. Courses are easy to understand and he really cares about what he is teaching. (I suggest the study abroad trip to Copenhagen that he teaches)
I took International Law from Professor Adler online this semester. He is a brilliant teacher who has a deep knowledge of the subject. He emphasizes the benefits of writing clean academic essays, and he provides constructive and helpful criticism on writing techniques of legal documents and how to improve on them. Highly recommend!
Professor Adler was great. Took an online accelerated course with him, and he was very upfront with his expectations. Short answer midterm and final. Accepts late work, and wants to see all his students succeed! He keeps you interested in the subject through interesting cases. His feedback on all papers is super informative. Would take again
He was awesome! Class attendance is mandatory and participation matters. Effort is needed but like not a ridiculous amount. Just try and youll be fine. He isnt a hardo and he is very friendly and helpful.
Professor Adler is one of the most caring professors I've ever had at UML. He gives homework assignments for every class but they're not very hard and they are always very relevant to the lectures. You have a few papers and a couple exams but if you go to class and pay attention you should have no trouble with them. Overall a great professor.
This professor is great!!! I would definitely take him again if I have the chance. But get ready to write between 1 and 2 one page paper every week which includes doing research about the topic.
I took Professor Adler's International Law course online recently. While it was a brief course, it was certainly an informative and enjoyable one. The amount of reading was appropriate and not too demanding. Many of the case files studied are really interesting as well. As long as you put in the effort and time, you will do well.
(intl' business) he is a great professor, he takes the time to set up his materials and he does put in a few anecdotes from his life into the course content which makes the topic a bit easier to remember, participate 1x a class, do your homework
Some people just do not know when to retire. Professor Adler loves to share his personal stories and then make them a part of the exam questions. He doesn't know how to make use of blackboard grading or quizzes, so all exams are done over a polling website. He means well and wants everyone to succeed but he is out of touch.
He gives homework and has a discussion every class he wants everyone to participate (heavy focus on this). Three exams (all open end) no prep and some of the questions are from his personal stories in the lectures questions are vague and opinionated . He shares a lot about his personal life very boring. poll to track attendance, partici, and ?'s
He is a good professor. He cares about the students learning. Class can be slow paced at times, but he does his best to relate it to real life with stories from his past. Assignments are clear. Participation is a big part of his class, which can be difficult.
Good guy, hes very understanding. At first it seems like he gives a lot of homework but its pretty easy stuff, and really you can choose how much work you put into it cause he mostly grades on weather you tried or not. Exams are kind of difficult but he curves all of them so their actually pretty fair
there is an assignment once a week and he really cares about class participation. As long as you do the assignments each week participation is a breeze. SUPER nice guy and tells a lot of stories about his experiences which help make the class not so dense. He is very understanding when it comes to missed or late work, dont take advantage of it tho
I enjoyed Professor Adler's class very much and it was a class I always looked forward to attending. I am happy I chose this class as an elective, I feel like I took a lot away from it. I appreciate how much time and effort he put into the class, he is definitely one of my favorite professors I have had during my four years at UML. Such a nice guy!
Professor Peter is an awesome and unique character, he is very understanding, caring, accessible any time, great work ethic, great lectures, great grading system and a worth of knowledge. I certainly would recommend you take his class especially if youre interested in going to law school.
Great Professor and really cares about you if you introduce yourself and participate in class. Really nice guy and super knowledgeable. Easy transition to online content, and kept up the quality of the class even when it was not face to face.
Professor Adler is a great man, he is full of knowledge and real life experience. However, if you are not a law student you will have a hard time in this class. Unless you spend all of your free time studying his notes, understanding concepts can be extremely difficult. If youre not comfortable participating, too bad hell call on you anyway.
if you participate in class, he'll try his best to give you bonus points as he can. Great professor, you'll learn a lot from him
I was privileged to work with Professor Adler as a mentor for my honors thesis this spring. Professor Adler provided consistent guidance, detailed feedback, and valuable support. His expertise vastly improved the quality of my project. Professor Adler was truly invested in my learning and success; I urge others to seek his help in the future.
International Law was one of the best classes I have taken at UML. Professor Adlers remarkable credentials and extensive work experience contribute to an impressive intellect, valuable insight, and practical wisdom. He is an enthusiastic instructor who encourages participation and vibrant discussion. I highly recommend this course to other students
Peter is a wonderful Professor - full of knowledge and real world experience. The course syllabus is laid out well, and all the assignments are in-place to help you learn & understand the world of International Business. Peter is also a very kind, wise and supportive individual, which I am grateful for. Highly recommend!
mandatory participation for points, poll attendance, quizzes are based on everything (book, power point, himself, classmates participation, etc), talks a lot, homework and new (very long) chapter reading due each class, just a lot of work in general. requires having camera on or he'll call you out.
I have not learned anything from his lectures yet, and this is halfway through the semester. Forces participation down your throat. Having your camera on is mandatory, will say your name if not on. Has trouble relating his previous work experience to the course content. Grade is primarily based on 4 "quizzes" through the semester.. more like exams
Nice guy, but unless you are a law junky, he is not for you. I had him when we switched. No camera, you are called out. He is monotone and lectures are slow/boring. You have to read a lot from the book or you will be lost by the end. This should have been a 3000/4000 level course.
Awesome class! Really caring professor, you will do good if you put in the work!
Professor Peter Adler has a positive and nurturing demeanor when teaching. He possesses empathy and advance emotional intelligence that go well with his knowledgeable approach as an educator. He will not patronize his students, so the difficulty of his teaching can be significant, but he does provide the tools and resources needed to succeed.
Prof. Adler really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He is willing to work with you as long as you do the work. Lots of reading and writing in this class, but everything was super interesting and he gives you good feedback, which I appreciate because it helps me improve my writing skills. Not an easy A, but awesome educator/human!
I took Professor Adler's business law and international law classes and absolutely loved them. He is such a caring teacher and wants to see you succeed. As an international business major I felt I learned a good understanding of international law. This professor is great!!
He has a very easy and simple method to his class. Show up and participate because he loves when his students do. Quizzes every few sections and homework from the book/google scholar. He cares about each and every one of us and is very understanding of individuals circumstances. Has many great connections and information for his student's futures.
He is a fantastic professor. The knowledge he has on the subject is immense along with his experience in the field. Participation is strongly encouraged because he appreciates it and your grade will heavily depend on it. Easy to talk to and easy to do well in his class. He wants to see everyone succeed.
Prof Adler is probably one of the nicest professors Ive had so far. His class heavily relies on the book for homework and quizzes so I definitely recommend actually reading it because the lecture slides wont be enough. He also really likes when students participate and attendance is mandatory so I woldnt recommend skipping. Overall great guy.
Homeworks every class that are pretty easy and the textbook is free. Four exams and no finals and as long as you put a little time into studying youll get an A. I highly recommend taking this professor and he was a real gem.
Great Professor! There is no final exam just 4 quizzes and the homework is easy. Professor is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. As long as you participate, do the assignments and try youll do well in his class. I highly recommend you take this professor.
Professor Adler is an amazing teacher. He is passionate, kind, and patient. Participation in this class matters . Homework was assigned every class but was very easy. The class also required a textbook that was free. I highly recommend this class and would take it again if I could.
Prof Adler is very experienced and this field and will often relate class topics to those experiences. Make sure you note them down as they sometimes appear on the exam. Hes also very straightforward and will always encourage participation, grading is transparent, and always does his best to make class less boring that it can be.
Professor Adler is a great teacher and his class Intro to Business Law is an easy A if u do everything ur asked to do (HW, show up to class, and participate every now and then). Took his virtual class due to COVID-19, pretty easy just gotta show your face and do the work needed. Exams are not hard (questions taken and based on his posted slides).
It's extremely clear he cares deeply about student success. Overall kind guy, great just to talk to and get to know. A lot of reading but he explains a lot of it in class and if you have a question he's more than happy to answer it. Had a great semester with him.
This class was great to take and participate in. Professor Adler is a very caring teacher that listens to you and also takes some time out of class to share things and get to know eachother. Loves to do polls which are easy to manage. Overall a great class and teacher would take again!
Peter is an awesome professor who really cares about his students. Most classes have an assigned reading which can sometimes be long, but he cares more about his student's effort and willingness to learn. Classes are participation based and though I may have felt unsure about my response, I never felt uncomfortable sharing my thoughts in his class.
Professor Adlers International Law class was very well structured and grading was very fair. His experience in the field makes the class more enjoyable because he actually has been around the world and is culturally sensitive. Attendance is mandatory but he grants you permission to skip as long as you request it on the blackboard portal.
Professor is great. Always ready to help and listen to you. Instructions are very clear and if you dont understand just ask him. He is the sweetest. Few assignments and a couple of two exams. Do the work and you will do great.
I had him for my International Law class at UML and it was a great experience. He is a fair grader, and very quick to respond to all my questions over email. He has a great virtual/online class format, that has been greatly beneficial for me over the covid-19 pandemic.
I can say with absolute certainty that Professor Adler is the reason I wish to pursue Law as a career later in life. I asked him if he would consider writing me a recommendation and he responded immediately and without question wrote me a phenomenal letter of support like no other. I suggest that anyone and everyone take a course with him!
Professor Alder does a good job of making an online class engaging. I took this class as a gen ed and found it to be very interesting. You have to be willing to read all of his handouts if you want to grow from this class, but it is worth the effort. You can tell he's a great guy through his teachings, definitely recommend taking one of his courses
Amazing professor! Makes sure to show up to class and complete assignments on time. Professor Adler has the class participate together, so no one is left out; Do not worry about being nervous. You can do it!
This was the first Law class I've taken, and because of it I will continue to take more. Professor Adler incorporated very interesting and thought provoking material to the class and I would definitely recommend taking this class with him.
Professor Adler is great, caring, and funny. It was a pleasure and opportunity to be in his class
Overall great professor. He really knows the material and cares about his students. I would take him again if I could.
Professor Adler cares about you and your grade. He has vast knowledge in international business, so it isn't just boring textbook lessons. If you take international business select his class you won't regret it.
Professor Adler has a lot of experience in his career, so he is able to tie those in with the course work to give us an interesting and engaging class. I would definitely recommend everyone to take his class.
Great professor, would recommend to international law students.
One of the best instructors I've had throughout my academic career at Umass Lowell. Very knowledgeable with a unique teaching method. Would highly recommend taking a class with Professor Adler.
Professor Adler is a great professor who cares about his students and it shows. His lectures are interesting and relevant with lots of real life examples. There's a small weekly assignment, 2 case studies, and 2 exams but if you do the work and try there's no reason why you shouldn't do well. Participation matters. Would definitely take him again
Professor Adler is on the best professors at UML. Excellent professor and really cares for his students. Professor Adler was readily accessible outside of class and in fact wrote me an excellent letter of recommendation for graduate school. 10/10!
Prof. Adler is incredibly knowledgeable and has a lot of experience in international business. Hes very patient and explains everything in class that will be on the exam
The single best prof I've ever had. The rare professor who has a detailed background of the subject he is studying and who connects his personal law experiences into class. Participation is heavily encouraged and rewarded with 20% weighting. By taking this class you're not signing up for an easy A. You're signing up for a great learning experience.
Really good professor, definitely a lecture heavy course. Leaves about 15 min at the end of class to go over students hw but if you answer a question beforehand you'll still get participation points, you'll also get it if you offer but don't speak. Be sure to study for the test! He said it was multiple choice but it was short answer so be prepared.
Professor Adler is a very knowledgable and respectable professor. He was understanding when I had emergency surgery and accommodating to my recovery schedule. His assignments aren't heavy at all, just a few short papers that you can easily complete within a week's time.
Great professor! Exams are very fair and covers only things talked about in class. Lots of reading and writing- but as long as you put in effort you will be fine! He even gave me the amazing opportunity to edit a book he is publishing! Great experience with the class! I highly recommend him, you will learn a lot!
Professor Adler is very knowledgeable and provides great feedback to improve writing skills. He cares about his students and I would take him again!
Peter Adler is an amazing professor where we, students, and the university, are lucky to have him. He has a unique teaching method, honor of a great learning experience. Prof Adler took the time from his busy schedule to write me a strong letter of recommendation for Law School and assisted me with my personal essay. Truly cares about his students!
I really enjoyed this class as it expanded upon my already existing interest in International Law. I am attending law school next year, so I will certainly use what I learned in this class in my future classes. I highly recommend Professor Adler!
Professor Adler's international law class was one of the most beneficial for my undergraduate studies even without synchronous meetings. There were a good amount of assignments, but all of the assignments were beneficial and sometimes required outside research that was very interesting to read. Professor Adler is easy to contact and always helps!
By far the best prof I have ever had. However, he isn't for everyone. If your goal is to try for an easy A and glide through a crucial aspect of the pathway he is sadly not for you. If your goal is to gain a complete understanding of law, directly from a real lawyer with a rich history, and finish the course a well-educated student, he is the one.
Professor Adler really wants his students to learn new things about international law and enjoy doing so. He is accessible outside of class time if you ask him and flexible with dates if you talk to him. As long as you read the case study's, do the assignments on Packback, and participate in class, you will do great!
A great Intro to Business Law class that covers many important topics in a short time span. The professor is extremely caring, explains material well and makes otherwise boring material interesting. You need to do weekly readings/discussion posts (good part grade) and there are 4 quizzes (no midterm or final). Attend class and you'll do great.
I love Professor Adler, I have taken him twice and he has been one of the best teachers/professors I have ever had
I am sad to say I did not have the best interaction with Professor Adlers Class, -He is VERY soft spoken and does not speak up when asked. -He uses a LOT of personal stories on his tests and if you dont catch these tales you instantly lose five points per question. -He doesnt not use blackboard very well -He gives Bs like candy to student
He's a great professor and very personable. Participation is heavily encouraged. He cold-called a couple of times to get the conversation going, but once you speak once, he's less likely to call on you again. From what I can remember, the exams are largely based on discussions in class. So if you attend and participate, you're sure to ace the exam
Prof. Adler is by far one of the most caring & understanding professors at UML, both in & outside of the classroom. His assignments do not waste your time & allow you to truly grasp the material. He also took the time to not only write me a letter of recommendation for law school but also gave suggestions to improve my personal statement & resume.
there's 4 quizzes where your expected to memorize 200 + terms per quiz there majority short answer with 5 separate questions in each question he also tests you on personal stories that half the time he forgets to tell you about. its impossible to study for this class dont take him you will fail.
The topics were presented clearly in an interesting way, the assignments straightforward, and the tests unique in how they were open book, but still required creative thinking. Prof. Adler is also quick to respond to emails, and very accommodating in regards to external circumstances and complications.
Professor Adler would often speak of travel and studying abroad, which as a future law student, I never thought a possibility would be available to me. However, after hearing of his amazing adventure while abroad and seeing all his photos. Professor Adler encouraged this dream and has been nothing but amazing while I explore this journey.
Professor Adler is a very motivated and inspired professor, and it shows through his lectures. His lectures are a perfect model as to how a class should be run and maximizes engagement and interest from students. You might have to take him for credits, but it truly is a valuable class.
Great Professor attendance mandatory but nothings in the couse was a surprise all was well prepared for especially for the quizzes
Professor Adler has been the best professor I have had throughout my time in UML. He is very caring and makes the class enjoyable. Homework due every class but is a short 1/2 page discussion based on the chapter read. Participate in class and he will bump up your grade.
Lectures were detailed and well explained. The professor used a lot of examples from his own experience to explain concepts, which was helpful. He did a great job covering a lot of dense material in an understandable way. Grades depend heavily on 4 quizzes, but there are no exams. The textbook for this class was useful.
He truly cares about his students and is always asking for feedback. Sometimes he goes a bit too fast through the PowerPoints, but is receptive to slow down when asked. The class is never boring. You'll read a chapter for each class and do an assignment. You should participate in class because if you are on the cusp between two grades.
Professor Adler made everything super understandable and was very reasonable with grading and scaling. Overall he made a class I wasn't looking forward to end up being pretty enjoyable. Plus he's really nice!
4 quizzes 20% of the grade each very hard for no reason. Other 20% is participation and homework but he lowers participation even if it's excused absence. on quizzes every student googles every question and has notes up and he does nothing I even witnessed a student talk to another student during the quiz about the quiz and he did nothing.
Professor Adler is a very caring and understanding professor. His class was very enjoyable and funny. As long as you read the textbook, do the homework and participate you'll do very well in the class! I will miss this class, and the fun stories that he would tell of his experiences with his lectures.
I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Adler's class. Nice mix of lectures and open class discussion so it never gets too stale. The topics are interesting and relevant make sure you read the material before coming to class so you can properly participate.Taking thorough notes and following instructions is important to doing well on exams and assignments.
Professor Adler is a GREAT professor. He truly cares about his students and wants them to do well in his class. Overall his class was pretty easy, just show up to class and participate (you legit only have to talk once and you'll get credit) and do the readings and homework and you'll get an A.
I loved Prof.Adler, he's so sweet and caring. He's also very understandable incase you miss class. Attending class matters and make sure to take notes.
This class is difficult. However, this professor is by far the most qualified to teach it. I learned so much through his real-life application of how the law affected his business. He wants all his students to do well and encourages participation, and we started doing group discussions which really helped. Excellent course just study and particpate
Professor Adler is an amazing professor. He really cares about his student's inside and outside of the classroom. The subjects we discussed for international law were very interesting as well. Professor Adler invited guest speakers on more than one occasion. Highly recommend International Law with this professor!
Professor Adler is a very approachable, inside and outside of the classroom. He gives interesting lectures and invited guest speakers on multiple occasions. Professor Adler really cares about you as a person and helps you get the highest grade possible with feedback. When you participate in his class the professor will like you.
Great professor who teaches students at the pace the class goes. As long as you take notes during class discussions, exams should be very manageable and they are taken in class on blackboard. I found him to be very polite and respectful about students own personal beliefs and never once felt uncomfortable.
Professor Adler's class was fantastic! I learned a lot throughout the semester and he is there to support you through the class and beyond. The assignments were pretty straight forward, but would recommend that you read the textbook to grasp and fully understand all the topics. Great class and highly recommend!
I really enjoyed taking this course with Prof. Adler. The workload is very manageable as long as you stay on top of it week to week. Personally speaking a lot of the areas of focus we hit on were very interesting which made the assignments easier to complete. His grading is very fair and he gave great feedback on written assignments.
Great teacher. He had a lot of interesting personal stories and kept the class content pretty interesting. He gives amazing feedback on papers and the packback site he uses for discussions is cool, but it does cost extra so keep that in mind. Class felt harder at times than it actually was, so set aside some time to really grasp the material.
On top of being a plain interesting guy with lots of experience with, and stories about, international law, Professor Adler was excellent in teaching this course. What was most impressive was, despite the class being completely online, his ability to communicate with his students made it seem like we were convening as a group every day. A+ job.
He's awesome! He's thorough, understanding, and only wants you to succeed. I highly recommend!
Professor Adler was very lenient and understanding when it came to grading assignments. The assignments required some basic research, and took some time, but it wasn't anything super complex. I appreciate him as a professor and recommend this course, you learn some pretty interesting things!
loved the class!!
I really enjoyed this class. The class was pretty straightforward and was a combination of lecture at the beginning of class, and participation at the end. Professor Adler was very approachable and always got back to emails quickly. If you want to learn a lot about international business I recommend this course!
Great professor who gives straightforward lectures and encourages class participation.
Prof. Adler was great, he has plenty of legal experience under his belt so the stories in his lecture we're great and fascinating - making the lectures more digestible. Participation was key in the course and really required to get a good grade. He does sometimes put test questions for stories he tells so def take notes on them.
Professor Adler is a professional and caring professor who will do the best for his students. I never had any trouble talking to him after class, and his stories are excellent. I looked forward to his classes every day. International law is a confusing subject, but he covers a lot of the history and treaties in a short amount of time.
I was enrolled in Prof.Adler's IntLaw course(Vermont Law and Graduate School)-He is knowledgable, inspirational, kind and personable- throughout his course he shared many stories from firsthand experiences and invited several guest speakers, offering his students the unique opportunity to directly engage with a variety professionals from the field.
Amazing study abroad experience in Copenhagen, Denmark. Very immersive, did lots of field studies, and learned a lot about international business
He's an excellent professor. Aside from teaching us class material, he offered wonderful insight into running a business, as well as his own experiences to give us perspective. His teaching style was such that a 1 hour, 30 minute class seemed like 20 minutes. I took this class for Study Abroad, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
I took this course as an elective, and we studied abroad in Denmark; Professor Adler was very attentive to our needs, especially regarding explaining the culture and his international experiences. Adler was very engaged with our group in every way. I would recommend him and look forward to taking another class with him.
Professor Adler is truly just amazing. He was more than helpful when I was confused on certain topics. He is a fair grader and always when teaching relates the lectures back to his own personal experiences. It helps a lot with understanding the course and preparing for the quizzes. Over all, take this course!!!!!
Peter was the best professor I have had at UML. I attended his study abroad International Business class in Copenhagen and felt as though his material and lectures were very informative and helpful. We only had three weeks for this class and it was extremely manageable. He was very personable and loved hanging out with us. Totally recommend!!
Peter is a very chill professor who likes to get to know people. I attended his study abroad program in Copenhagen. If you don't get any scholarships or Financial Aid, it can be a really expensive program because the flights and the program itself are expensive, and the food is also really expensive.
Professor Adler is exceptional. He empowers his students by allowing them to have a voice. He is extremely fair. The course content is contextualized in real life experiences and narratives. Additionally, he uses instructional practices that develop important critical thinking skills and writing skills. I highly recommend Professor Adler.
You are in good hands with Professor Adler! He curates online courses to feel engaging and thought-provoking, and provides a breadth of interesting resources to study from. He genuinely wants each student to grasp the material and succeed, and provides ample opportunity to recover from a struggling grade. He makes the field of law feel accessible.
Professor Adler is exceptional. Be prepared to dive in and enjoy the journey! His lecture notes include many personal experiences that bring the material to life. For someone so brilliant and accomplished, he is very approachable and accommodating. I would recommend Professor Adler any time for any of his classes. Incredible experience!
Professor Adler is very knowledgable in International Business. He brought a lot of real life examples from his own experience. I was stressed when I learned I had to participate a lot, but now I am grateful for it. My confidence in public speaking/class discussions has grew immensely from being in this class.
Great class. Be ready to participate and read! Lectures and speakers were enjoyable and add good material to the class. Professor Adler really cares about learning and making material digestible. Appreciate the effort put into each class, thank you Professor!
One of the best professors I have had at UML. Had a teaching style that made class fun and not overwhelming. Very caring about student success and is very lenient with grading. I would 100% take him for another class. Thank you professor Adler!
Peter is a supportive professor. The material was mostly engaging and the grading was fair with great feedback being provided for future improvements to be made. He is very approachable due to possible chats that took place before and after class.
Prof. Adler has a wealth of experience working abroad. In class we analyzed HBR case studies (sold separately) on IB related problems, much more relevant and engaging than a lecture. There is some lecture, but majority is discussion and even some guest speakers. Not the youngest teacher but still on top of his game.
Professor Adler's class was engaging and manageable. The material was relevant, and he encouraged participation, which helped build my confidence. unstuckstudy ai was a great study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a rewarding experience.
This was a 100% online class but Peter's knowledge, personality and real world experience were evident in the course notes and contributed to a great learning experience. Assignments each week included writing short papers and I very much appreciated the flexibility to choose topics of interest that were relevant to the course material.
Prof. Adler was a great instructor for my International Law course online, by sharing his experience and knowledge he helped me understand more about certain topics, inspired me to work hard, and learn more about international law. The weekly lectures were very informative and helpful, and made it easier to study for exams.
Professor Peter Adler is an exceptional professor who taught International Business during the 2023 Study Abroad program in Copenhagen. He joined us for outings, stayed in touch after the program, and provided career advice, including suggesting a job at Novo Nordisk and guidance on a New Zealand visa. Highly recommended!
Prof.Adler's course provided valuable insights and lessons. The course was well-structured, and the feedback was very helpful and constructive, I highly recommend this course, and any other course with Prof. Adler, whom also wrote a great recommendation letter for my Master's application. He ensures his students are successful in and out of class!
I was Professor Adler's student a few years ago. His class is definitely worth taking. You will get a lot out of it. Professor Adler recently wrote me a strong letter of recommendation that helped me get into graduate school. He cares about his students and wants everyone to be successful.
I had Prof. Adler as a German student during my semester abroad at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in International Law. He was by far the best professor during my time there. Adler helped me get into UC Berkeley Law School with a fantastic letter of recommendation, where I am now doing a Master of Laws. Thanks again, that was extraordinary!
