Dude seems like a great person and would be a great professor for higher level calculus classes but he sucks at teaching begginer calculus. Most of his example problems in class served only to confuse the class more and the homework was impossible for our skill level. If you have to take his class free Youtube lectures will be your best friend.

He is incredibly passionate about math which makes this class a little extra challenging - he REALLY wants you to understand the complex topics. Homeworks are often quite challenging but give you a good grade buffer (nearly 50% was homework). Test questions came from the homework/in class problems. Sometimes a tough grader regarding partial credit.

Seeing all the Peter slander on this site makes me physically sick to my stomach. Not only is Peter one of the most caring and funny professors I've had the pleasure of getting taught by, but the class is simply not as hard as people say (the grade scale is very lenient). It will be very easy to pass if you just work hard and keep a good attitude.

Peter is such a kind man, and incredibly good at math, however I would not recommend him for any lower division math class, and I would not take him again for calculus 2. He is terrible at explaining, and many of his homeworks are significantly more difficult than our class material and don't prepare us for the tests. There's only hw's and tests.

The professor did not properly grade the midterms in Canvas until AFTER the final exam was completed, everyone in the class had their grade dropped by at least 10%. He never takes long to grade the exams or work (usually a day or two), but they were incorrectly graded for over HALF the semester and he offered no help once the grade was changed.

Peter was a very sweet and funny guy, but often gave confusing lectures. Office hours with him saved me and were super helpful. His homework is difficult and often long, but if you can get through it you'll be fine on tests. Don't procrastinate homeworks, and do it with others if you can. One on one is where Peter helped me the most.

Peter is nice/reasonable, but has an apparent lack of passion for teaching. He speaks in "theorems", and doesn't really break anything down. I attended lecture all semester, but that was worthless. Homework sets are sickeningly difficult, but he's willing to solve problems during office hours. He gives generous partial credit on exams for effort.

This is my favourite professor by far. For starters i'm not a math person but he is so accomodating and made me like calc. Calc 2 is hard but he takes it slower initially so that we can all get the bases covered. if we were to miss exams there is always lots of buffer and retakes. hes sweet, understanding and smart. High recommend

The homeworks sometimes take a long time but if you go to office hours he will help you. The tests are made up of homework and class problems so it is easy to study for them and they are always fair. He is pretty funny and engaging during lectures. There are opportunities for bonus points in the class if you find mistakes he has made.

Peter is an excellent professor. He is genuinely concerned in the success of his students. The homework takes a lot of time but is worth a good chunk of your grade and worth completing. The midterms were difficult but Peter gave us immense grace on them. My only gripe is that the final wasn't anything like the midterms

The math department seems to be lagging behind in pedagogy and the ability to teach. Peter seems like he cares about his students, but is not a great lecturer and is very difficult to follow during lectures. Homeworks seem excessively difficult in comparison to the material covered in the lecture.

He messes up a lot of times on his own questions, to the point where he can't even solve it. His lectures are boring, so it's very hard to pay attention. The questions on both the tests and homework, nobody knows how to begin to solve. He does however record his lectures which are very helpful, and he has lots of office hours and study sessions.

I took MATH 1220 with Professor Peter during the fall semester. He is an extremely good professor. During his lecture he always use many vivid physics examples to help us understand the abstract mathematics formulas and concepts. Likewise, his exam is easy if you seriously finish your assignments and relevant problems in lecture.

There is a lot of homework, and while the exams are okay, you need to work hard to pass the class. You might consider taking the class, but keep in mind that the final exam contributes 28% to the overall grade, which can be challenging.

He has a fixed curve, so a 90% overall is an A. The weekly homework is very time consuming and difficult, but allows unlimited attempts. He also spends a lot of time on hard problems that won't be on the exam during lecture. All exam questions are from homework or in-class problems. I stopped going in so I could watch the lectures online.

This professor was very entertaining and was very clear about the content covered. During his office hours, he would guide students through homework problems they were struggling with.
