He is a wealth of knowledge...it's a lot of work, but do it and you'll do fine.

Very smart but a little intimidating and cocky
No Comments
He comes off hard he grades on a big curve. Be sure to answer the exam review.
Show up, do your work, and pay attention and you will be fine. If you don't want to learn, choose another professor.
Definitely has little-man's complex. Asks you to speak in front of class and counts how many times you say 'um.' I've never hated a teacher until I had his class.
Excellent teacher. If you say um a lot, better drop the annoying habit and learn to take criticism. Teaches you how to speak professionally in front of people. Not a half ass teacher. Authentically, wants to improve you as a person.
This guy needs to check his attitude problem. he is the most difficult professor to take this class with.
Do not take him. His opening speech on the first day of class reminded me of the Drill Instructor welcome from the movie "Full Metal Jacket". You will then watch films on why America is going to fail that were probably produced by the Iraqi Info
He is arrogant. He should take a class on how students learn best class. He thinks most students don't work hard, so he should push them beyond scope of the class. Unsympathetic character. Avoid him if possible.
tons of work for only a 2 unit class. tests were hard but there was enough other busy work (papers due every class meeting) to make up for getting a not so good grade on his test
tHE HARDEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN, BUT THE MOST INTUITIVE TEACHER. GREAT CLASS, AND IF YOU LEARN THE MATERIAL YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN BUSINESS!!! GUARANTEED!
Great class, people say it is really hard...it is not, just study and actually read the assigments! He is a great teacher, a little intimidating in the beginning, but very helpful!!
He sucks really bad. I dont usually drop classes, but for this fool I made an exception...I would recommend taking someone else...NOT Anderson, she is about as bad, if not worse.
Extremely difficult and very rude. Belittles students for asking questions about difficult concepts. Not clear on assignments and requirements for class. Extremely hard grader and does not give ANY feedback.
this teacher is hard. There are times when he'll juist tell you what you want to hear just so you can go on, but then when you turn in the assignment, he'll give you a bad grade. he'll just tell you "yeah so! what about it!", so what you got a b
Difficult Teacher. However, I have never learned more from any other professor before. It is the only class where I have applied everything I learned to real-world business both in US and abroad. Don't say "um" in speeches!!
Very arrogant, a ****, and not helpful at all, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY!
Genuine horrible, souless person. Anal about everything, even his bright white cuffs and collars. Rude in speeches. DO NOT TAKE. If you have to: listen to lectures, study ALL review questions, no "ums" in speeches, he hates everyone, not jus
He is one of the hardest professors I have ever taken, but I have never learned so much in my entire 7 1/2 years that I went to college. He will work you hard, but you will learn tons.
I just hope I never get to be in one of his classes ever again or I will probably cry.
If you want to learn, take Antinou. He will push you the hardest of any professor, but it is he who you will remember and thank at the end. He forces you to grow both intellectually and personally. A+ man with a wicked sense humor.
This is the teacher to take for Bus 444. It is very difficult, though he grades very fairly. He wants people to understand business, not theoretical garbage like the other business teachers. Put in the effort and you will be happy with your grade.
Simon Cowell of the College of Business. You may think he is a jerk, but what he says is true. As hard on people as the real world will be after grad. My hardest class that term and it was only 2 units, but I would take him again. You'll learn a lot.
After reading his ratings, I have decided that the people that scored him poorly, probably did bad in his class. You cannot expect to slide through a class like this.Just wait and see what happens in the real world. It is tough, but he is a great teacher.
It seems very hard the first few weeks. But later it gets easier, he is very good in grading. Different way of teaching, but he is good. We need this kind of proffesors to open our minds and to make us ready for the real world.
I like his accent and facial/hand expressions!
If you want to learn something you should take this class. It appears like a waste of time on the begining but if you can filter the information and STUDY as he says, you will learn more then you think. Overall fair, don't forget you have to do your part to do good in this class.
He was extremely hard and the class was a bit of a pain in the ass, but i learned A LOT from him and would gladly take his class over the other professors for BUS 444
Interesting stories
This class is a joke. Lucky for those that don't have to take this when SE is revised. He is fun to listen too and is open to talking and trying to make a dull class fun. 492 is a joke however, I'll just be glad when SE is over.
He is a great teacher. If you want to learn real stuff that you may actually use in the future, take this class. If you want to try to drift through to graduation this is not the class for you. If you want to learn and be challenged sign up.
You are a passenger in a FERRARI Enzo, he is the driver, buckle up ! Fast and thrilling, but rough and bumpy ridh through fog, but hey, you really learn alot about performing under preassure, no sugar coating, just like real life. Funny at times, and has alot of experience.
This guy is great! He's got an accent like Triumph the Insult Comic dog and the insults to go along with it. He's quick, witty, and does his job. He teaches. It's not that he's hard, he excercises common sense and doesn't let retards slip through the class without working. Not the easiest though.
DO NOT, i repeat... DO NOT take this class w/ Antonio. if you don't ask millions of questions about homework, projects... etc, he won't tell you. TRUST ME, you'll think you did something CORRECTLY and you end up getting a crappy grade. he is very unclear about everything.. 2 THUMBS DOWN!
Do NOT take Antoniou's class! He's a horrible professor! Hard to understand, rude, disrespectful and is very strict on attendance. His assignments are not clear and if you ask him to clarify something, be prepared!! Worst professor I've had at CSUSM.
If you like doing 6-8 hours of homework for a two unit class per week then this class is for you. Strick grader, only put down exactly what he wants on your weekly papers or you'll get docked and good luck figuring out what he wants. Very Vague on all assignments!
This professor is hard but if you study and go to the lectures all the time you will LEARN. If you don't like to do work, don't take his class. Lots of work for two units but definitely worth it. I am looking forward to taking BUS 444 from him.
For my first time at CSUSM I felt like I was in a nightmare with all the work we had to do!!! Very unclear and makes YOU figure out how to get a good grade on anything by doing horrible the first few times. If you like tough, you'll like him...I didn't!
He is not the worst teacher you could take but he is very confusing on what he want out of you. He also didn't let us know our grade on the final paper and test so at the end of the semester 40% of your grade is up in the air.
Antoniou is a tough teacher. There is enough work for a 5 unit class but I learned quite a bit from him. People complain about his vagueness because he doesn't give us exact direct guidelines but if you go to his office hours and ask him questions he will CLARIFY! If you dont like work dont take him.
Dr. A does not clarify well what he expects from students, but the class is very informative.
He is very ambiguous on what he expects on his assignments, but if you are willing to go into his office hours, he is very helpful, and a lot nicer than in class. He is willing to help you, but he can be very intimidating. Keep up with the work. Be prepared to teach yourself.
I had Prof. Antoniou for 3 different classes at CSUSM. I got A's in 444 and Sr. Experience. I respect him a lot. He's the toughest instructor in the Business School, but his classes are passable and I learned _a_lot_. His experience outside the classroom contributes to inside. He's very demanding and not very forgiving, just like the real world.
This class is time consuming. Do not take if you work a signifigant amount of hours. I would not recommend this class to ESL students because you will be making several oral presentations. I feel like a SWOTT analysis master after taking this class. Overall, I think Antiniou is a great professor. I have learned a lot in this class.
Great professor!!!It was very interesting to be in his class. He is very smart and witty man! It is a lot work, so it is not an easy class for a lazy student. I am an ESL student, but I’ve got an “A” in his class (I worked hard though). If you want to learn something, take his class. It is a lot of talking every class, written case assignments, and
Highly recommended! Pete is a good guy and very smart. You will learn a alot in this useful class if you take him. Pete gets a bad rep because he doesn't hand out free grades. Here are some guides: TAKE:want to learn, like challenges, want to be a smart person DO NOT TAKE if you:slide by in classes, want an easy A because you will hate him.
This teacher is amazing. He is full of real life experience and he makes class interesting. His confidence might come off as arrogance but he still gets my approval
He is a brilliant business man and a huge asset to the credibility of the CSUSM business department. Be prepared for EVER class, he will expect you to participate. He is HOT, with his accent and the way that he says “Focus,” swoon!
He is a brilliant business man and a huge asset to the credibility of the CSUSM business department. Be prepared for EVER class, he will expect you to participate. He is HOT, with his accent and the way that he says ?Focus,? swoon!
He is a great professor. But very hard. He has very high expectations without being clear.
At first he comes off like a prick, but by the end of the semester, I had learned more in this class than any of my other business classes.
Extremely unhelpful. Very rude. The only reason why people claim they learned anything in this class was that they were forced to read BussinessWeek (for the first time in their life, probably). This guy should stick with online instruction.
The best professor I had at CSUSM. Very demanding, doesn't have patience or pity for slackers. Won't hold your hand or treat you like a high school student like most professors. Very difficult. I didn't get the best grades in his class but learned the most.

He is a difficult teacher who offers little explanation. Make sure when taking him you follow the guidelines exactly or it could end in disaster. Case Studies require several elements; dont leave out anything that he asks for and don't be skimpy. Tests are difficult; make sure you know the material not just the glossary terms. He changes up the questions in order to make sure you understand the material. There will be m/c, t/f, and essays. Final project is tough, start early and get it done.Don't Wait
Not an easy class and Antoniou does not try to win any popularity contests. Seems harder than it really is but should be worth more units. Lecutres are entertaining. Take him if you want to learn. If your looking for a free ride you might want to look else where. I think it was one of the better classes I have taken at CSUSM.
EXTREMELY VAGUE!!!! It's like pulling teeth to try and figure out what you need to study for testing or what this guy is looking for. And Im sorry but whats up with the ASCOT? Spare me please...
This class is gnar gnar. He made a girl cry. But you learn a TON. He scares people into studying. He throws out ppls homework in front of the class if he thinks someone is turning in a friends' work.He stares at italian women with big hooters. He LOVES women. Typical European sterotypes...bad accent and an assgrabber. Take him if you want to learn.
Antoniou is very difficult dont get my wrong but I know I will never forget anything I learned in his class. When someone asks a dumb question in class he will tell them its a dumb question, its the funniest thing I have ever seen! Take him if you want a heavey work load but want to remember the class into your next semester and apply the material
Won't give you the answers if you don't ask the question. Not going to lie, the class is a lot of work, but it's worth it at the end. Some people like him, some don't I just happen to like him, he's funny (to some) and comes up with some wisecracks all the time. Be prepared to do your work as this is necessary and make sure you are a teamwork guy!
This professor doesn't want to help his students learn. He doesn't tell his students what to study for or what he expects. He doesn't care if you are learning anything, just keeps right on talking. UGH! This guy is extremely vague and a frustrating experience to take him...
This guy is definitely vague, but he will answer any question that you have. He knows his stuff, and he will force you to work hard. He has very high expectations of students. I will probably retain more from this class than any other I have taken.
If anyone else is teaching the course, take them. This guy is VERY mean when it comes time to do your SBA presentation. Unfortunately, sometimes he's the only one teaching it. He is really bad at giving feedback. Don't forget to bring a DIVX tape to your presentation.
Excellent teacher. Class is demanding but is "real world". You will learn and Antoniou really knows his onion. Keep up the pace, this class is worth it.
Tough class but you will learn (and NEVER EVER forget it). If you have the ahems... take him.
This teacher DOES NOT want to teach his students. He expects his students to figure it out for themselves and then ask questions. He does not go over any tests, or papers or assignments, or content. How are we supposed to learn when we don't even know what he expects???
I found this class difficult because you dont know what to do. He is not helpful when it comes to the directions of the business arts. and the case analysis. Good luck with the industry analysis. and the exams are hard. READ everything he tells you to read and KNOW the material too. thats what is on the exams.
Presentations are hard to grasp because he doesn’t really go into too much detail about the material. He simply gives you the gist of the topic and then you have to figure out the rest. Business Weeks and Case Analysis are not that hard as long as you know the three models. As long as you know those models inside and out you should do fine.
Dr. Antoniou was a great professor! His tests are hard, but what test isn't? The Business Week and Case Analysis assignments are EASY! You need to attend every class for the points. He is VERY nice and helpful if you talk to him outside of class. He comes across as a jerk, but it's all an act to scare you! He's the nicer BUS302 professor! Trust me
Not a very effective teacher, he expects the students to ask questions but he does not take the time to go over any tests or papers. How are we as students supposed to learn the correct answers when we don't know what they are?
He is a nice man, but the class is 2 units not 4 like he teaches it. The tests are not so bad if you really do the study guides and take good notes during the videos. Make sure you keep up with the assigned case studies and START YOUR PROJECT EARLY! Don't bother purchasing the business weeks you can read them free online.
Tough class........taught at the level of a graduate student - although it is an introductory class for Business......Take it from another instructor if you can.
He presents a lot of information. The tests are all very difficult, but he curves generously. My advice, study everything and stick with the class. You'll learn a lot. Not an easy A. I had to work hard and study, but it's worth it for those taking the class to learn.
Antoniou is not as hard as everyone says he is, a lot of work for a 2 unit class but even that is easy. Tests are difficult but dont necessariily have to do good to get a good grade. Get examples of in class from friends and base your homework off of that. people say he is helpful in office hours except the 5 times I went he was not there
Go to every class, take good notes, and know the models and exams should be easy. Project is hard and time consuming. Sarcastic sense of humor-thought he was funny. Practice presentations!!!
work your schedule around this instructor, if you cant be prepared to ask questions cause he wont tell what you need to do for assignments unless you ask
Not an easy class...work isnt amount and exams not at intro level class
He has a lot experiese, but did not prepare the class very well, his letecture not clear enough.
ALLLLOTTT of work for a 2 unit course. Most tests are essay based and there is a lot of useless memorization that must be done. The only good thing is that he doesn't really base your grade on your points because if he did over half the class would fail.
Not sure about Bus302, but for Bus444 this guy is money.
Huge amount of work for 2 units class, rude and not a helpful teacher. Won’t recommend him for any student. Hope either he retired or get fired ASAP.
Does not explain homework. You have to figure EVERYTHING out for yourself. I wish i would have taken someone else!
If you want to experience and learn real world strategic business management Antoniou is your choice. Be prepared to work! He gives you the tools and will not hold your hand. Read the material! Don't miss class, pay attention and be prepared to spend 8-10 hours a week on it. No crybabies or whine bags need apply!
This professor makes a hell out iof this class he doesnt explain anything his test are hard but if you really read and pay attention and I MEAN PAY ATTENTION you'll do fine
He is an extremely rude and arrogant person. If you ask questions he makes you feel stupid. He does not teach at all. He doesn't explain how to do anything so be prepared to teach yourself. He is the worst teacher I have ever had and does not care about his students at all. His exams are completely irrelevant to what is "taught" in class. DON'T TAK
Yes, he's tough, but if you really are there to learn, you'll do well. This class is basically a preview of the real world so if you aren't ready for that then antiniou isnt for you. TAs grade the bus. weeks so if oyu have problems he won't be the one to ask. he did make me feel stupid a few times for asking for clarification so i learned to shutup
Awesome professor for 444. I think he gives the 302 class a hard time just to weed out the weak. Alot of real-world experience and a lot of laughs. It turned out to be my favorite class.
Very good teacher, but you have to put your hours in to obtain a good grade. Test are based on lecture and text + understanding of concepts). His class will prepare you for real life experience and his knowledge of Strategic BUS MNGT will blow you away. If your in it to learn he is a MUST TAKE professor. Your in a different league when you pass.
I have been learning a lot in this class. The teacher's vagueness forces me to try as hard as I can on the material until I get it. I think I'm going to pull an A. He is very helpful when you see him in his office. It probably has the workload of two classes, but if you're determined, you'll do good. It's my favorite business class so far.
too cruel
It seems like Dr. Antoniou could be a cool person outside of the classroom--but in the classroom he is reminscent of the soup nazi. Given that everybody pretty much has to take 302 with him everybody has their own opinion. Tests are ridiculously long and he's not a very helpful or nice person but go to class and you should pass. Project is fun.
SHOW UP TO CLASS, pay attention to lectures/movies, skim the reading, DO ALL THE WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS, and you'll pass - easy.
You might be lost but do your work and pass
I had Antoniou for both BUS 302 and BUS 444. For 444, he is amazingly good, you will learn alot. For 302, he is not very patience with newbie students. Tip: learn the business models well.
I have no idea what he wants from us. He expects us to know how to do things without explaining beforehand. I am not a bad student, but I would avoid him if I could...
Tough class, tough professor. He seems very impatient. It seemed like he expected everyone to know all the material before the class even started.
Very difficult course!! Do not take it if possible!! Im taking 4 unit courses that do not compare to this 2 unit course. The material is interesting and not boring whatsoever but the professor makes you dread coming to his class once a week...He does not clarify anything when yoy need help!!!
Professor is LE HOT!! got to love the greekness. grrr. but like people said it's really difficult for a 2 unit class, and the midterm i felt was harder than the final. pay attention in class and take notes on everything he says. it's all important. he's a really intelligent professor and knows his material but sometimes the class gets confusing.
This class is interesting but very hard!! The biggest suggestion I can give you is choose your group partners wisely and start your project as soon as you receive and understand what you're doing. The project is time consuming and hard. The multiple choice part of the tests are random. Okay class overall. Lot of work!!
Pretty interesting class overall. YOU MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES if you want to make sure you'll get a good grade since he deducts 2% of the grade per absence. You'll never know where the multiple choice Qs are from so just focus the essays. If you have problems or questions make sure to talk to him ASAP and get a good group.Do this and you'll do well.
Really smart guy; go to class; don't do final project at last minute; tests aren't worth too much of grade; cases aren't hard; he'll give you the guidance you need to pass, but won't "baby" you. Best class/professor that I have had so far--learned a lot and am now seriously ready for Senior Experience. Antoniou is seriously awesome and a pleasure.
Antoniou is a good teacher - He isn't intimidating at all. If you come to class and study for the tests (does that seem radical or what? coming to class???!!!??) you'll do fine. People should stop whining like little p*@#!&$
Good Man! He knows the subject well and expects students to learn for themselves. Lacks some direction, but he will answer questions and emails if you need help. Assignments and attendence mean a lot to overall grade. One major product worth A LOT too. Focus on the essay questions. Tough multiple choice.
Prof. Antoniou is a smart man. He knows the subject well, so it is up to you to pick his brain. His directions are vague, because he wants you to use your brain and ask questions. His class is amusing, yet very interesting. memorize the review questions, read the book, participate in class, and start on the project early, incase you have questions!
He knows his material. He is too vague. Leaves mainly the new students from the community colleges, who attend his class almost by themselves. Projet is time-consuming, and the instructions are unclear. You have to ask him to explain the guidelines, as you otherwise may complete the project incorrectly. He only will give advice when asked.
This professor is so incredibly pompous! It is actually difficult to sit in a classroom with an ego that large! I studied as much as any other student, and did a superb job on the Group Project, and still did not pass. I questioned him on the grading, and he said I did not deserve a D, but would not change the grade!! Why? His enormous ego...
come to class, try to learn, don't complain, and don't rely on him for individual help. But it is important to note: you will learn a lot if you try. Don't be an idiot and complain just because something is hard
His course is difficult, and his teaching style is a perplexing at times, but he knows his material. Follow the syllabus like it was written in stone, do all readings and assignments, and you will do well in his class, once you get past the initial learning curve.
Antoniou's 302 is not th e easiest of classes. Call him pompous, but the man knows what he is talking about. Find his business bio and you will understand. Everything covered in class is relevant for tests. Many say he is difficult, but it is merely his way of weeding out weaker students. Do the reading, go to class, and learn the models.
Very Difficult class, make sure you pay attention. Project is very vague, he will only explain things if you ask, he's been known to walk out of class for "unprepared" students. Tests are very hard- no study guide or any indication given about what will be covered. For final- know answers to review questions Know models- don't need to buy Bus Week.
Prof. Antoniou is an intelligent teacher that knows the material. However, his directions are vague in everything. He has a big ego but is funny. The group project was time consuming and hard, begin early with a dedicated group. The Midterm is harder than the final and you will see questions you've never seen before even after studying.
I would definitely recommend taking Antoniou. I learned a great deal from him. My advice would be to do all of the reading, don't miss ANY classes, and ask a lot of questions regarding the final project because, like it has been said before, his instructions are vague.
Great class! I took his 302 too, but his 444 is wonderful and very interesting. Read the textbook for the exams, and start working on the project early, careful about the selection of the teammates. Dr. Antoniou is a great professor.
This professor needs an attitude adjustment. He is very rude when students raise their hands. He proceeds by saying "well, what do you think". I didn't learn a darn thing in this class. He is extremely vague about the project & tests. I wish I could have gotten more out this class but I couldn't because I was always to scared to raise my hand.
Professor Antoniou makes his class unnecessarily difficult. The material is easy enough, but he chooses to be vague in his directions and isn't very helpful. I dont understand when students say "well he knows his material." I would hope he does, he's been teaching it for years. The issue is can he convey what he knows to his students? No, he can't.
Not in his fault that this course is too broad, but is his fault that the exams are very detailed. Impossible to know what to study for the exams.
Antoniou is a difficult teacher but he just seems likes he trying to weed out those that don't really belong in business. Don't miss any classes, don't be late, and don't bring a laptop or play with your phone in class. He has eyes in the back of his head. Everything sounds really hard and confusing but in the end it wasn't.
Tough professor, but you will learn a lot from him. He seems intimidating in class, but if you ask him for help in his office hours he is willing to help. Only take him if your willing to work hard and learn.
One of the worst teacher!! its only a 2 unit class but he makes it harder than what it would be. Test are very hard not relevant with his lectures. He will not take homework or project after 5 mint from class. He is not helpful at all if you don't agree with something on you paper he will just blow you off and be rude.. Highest grade there was a B-
This professor is terrible. I would rather shoot myself in the foot than take this professor. Instead, take Bruce. He is much better, and he teaches you everything you need to know and more in a fun and entertaining way.
Any student who gave Antoniou good ratings in any area is obviously high! Worst, meanest, rudest, most unclear professor/teacher Ive ever had in my entire life! Have you ever seen a professor turn another groups power point presentation off because they went 1 minute over the given time? Well I did last week, twice!
Puts a lot of value on attendance. Grades use partial points, like 7.1 out of 10. Pick a good group the 1st or 2nd day of class and start project asap. He can be a little intimidating, even rude on occasion, but he answers email promptly, and picks up phone calls. He called me back once when he was at the airport! He cares if you do.
Okay, I took him for 302 which was pretty bad, but for 444, he's cool. I love him and how he explains things. He makes the class super interesting and fun. He hates slackers and student with no interests. Typical corp top management. Do your work with your best and you'll do fine.
Had for Bus 302, 444. Learned a LOT from him, but be prepared to work. If you're serious about going into business, stick with him. He'll teach you what you need to know.
Dr. Antoniou wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be. BUT I would suggest that you are well prepared and do not miss class. Very strict with his rules and policies. If you try then you will pass. 2 exams, 3 business analysis cases, 1 group project& presentation, and 1 SOR case= 100%
This class was horrible! Meanest worst most unclear teacher I have ever had. I would rather take any teacher but him. I went to class every day and still got a C! Ridiculous
Like most other students, I heard about Prof. Antoniou being a tough teacher. If you go in remembering he is going to push you then you will do fine. Pay attention in class, do the readings, study what he tells you to study and work hard on the group project and you will do well. Some say he's rude, I actually found his humor entertaining.
This is by far the worst professor I've ever taken a class with at San Marcos. He's rude, and unhelpful. He fails to motivate and engage the class and his negative attitude makes you not want to be there. Take someone else. ANYONE else.
I had him for 302 and 444, way better in 444. He is tough, but just do good on the assignments and come to class, especially ON TIME! I did horrible on all his exams and still ended up with a B, when I was expecting to get a C- or worse! Talk loud and clear, he made a girl scream because she talked to quiet and soft. He'll make you think too.
Attendance is crucial, he will disrupt the class to call you out, yet its ok if hes late 3 classes in a row. 2% dock every time your absent. Do the reading or your considered absent. Take Bruce as others say.
One of the BEST Professors at CSUSM. Antoniou will make you think outside the box for your own good. In BUS 302 you gotta do 3 article analyses(EASY), Midterm(study for it),SOR charts(for attenance and understanding of topic) group project and final. At the end he'll give few extra points. If you want to LEARN take HIM. Great Guy
Antoniou was one of the best Professors at CSUSM. I finely felt like I learned something through-out the whole class. He was comes off tough, but it is just because he cares that you learn what he is teaching. I felt like he was well prepared for every class and had real world examples to relate to every topic. Amazing...
THE Best Professor! For all those who complain, you should change your major from BUS. to something else. Prof. Antoniou is here to teach, not deal with lazy asses who just wanna get an A for being there. Come to class, do the HW and you will LEARN. EASY CLASS(just submit the work)
Extremely strict, for example, he does NOT accept papers if you arrive class 5 minutes late; never smiles.
Professor Antoniou is an outstanding educator! If you listen and do your part, he teaches you concepts with a lifelong value!
Way too much work for a 2-unit class! It's all doable, but shouldve counted for 4-units considering there were 2 exams, a big final group project that included a paper and presentation, and homework as well. He is very strict! Would only recommend if you can stay on top of your work and follow his directions.
Antoniou's lower division mgmt courses concern information that is constantly repeated throughout your upper 300-400 level courses. Putting effort into these course will make a much easier next couple semesters. I highly recommend Antoniou to make your future courses seem almost silly at how repetitive they are.
This's worst professor i have had, losses grades for what have been completed, so make sure u save EVERYTHING u do, couse he will ask u to show it to him at the end! And make sure u r on time…
Different teaching style for sure, but an awesome teacher. I should have got a c but because I participated, he gave me a B. Everything he does will make sense at the end of the semester. Awesome teacher, one of my favorite!
Be prepared to do alot of work, make sure you save everything, i'll repeat, everything, he tends to loose wsj's, specially the ones you got 5's on. he lost two of mine, and when i offered to give them to him, he said they have to be with his writting on it. however, you will learn alot from him. so good luck, you will need it, if possible avoid him
He doesn't like to explain assignments. For almost every question the answer is "I don't know" because you have to figure it out by yourself. He picks teams for you to be in for the entire semester. Case studies. Team paper. Individual Paper. Team Presentations. He brings in real life examples and he isn't completely unapproachable.
Not a difficult class. He is a little vague though in what he expects from you. Study your notes and show up to class and you'll be fine. Didn't use the book either.
I know there's a ton of bad reviews of this professor on here, but honestly, he's not that bad. He makes you think and wants you to be a better you. There's case analyses every week, but they're not difficult to do. Don't wait to do your project! Do it sooner so you don't have to stress about it minute. Don't be lazy and you'll like this course!
Avoid if possible. If you're out of luck, then be prepared every class for all the readings and assignments. Your grade will suffer if you miss class too.
The whole course is all common sense. Two Exams and weekly group presentations (not that scary). Study the slides for the exams and prepare for 4 essay questions per exam. Grade is based on if you participate and try your best. Grade will suffer if you are absent.
Class was very hard and very demanding. You can tell that the professor is extremely vague because he wants you to work for your grade. Do all assignments, don't procrastinate, keep your head down and do your work because he will call you out in class. Too much more for a 2 unit class but it is what it is. Did everything a best as I could, got a B
BEWARE!IF U CAN TAKE ANYONE ELSE, AVOID THIS PROF AT ALL COSTS.I did not learn anything from this class, except to make sure I stayed under his radar so he wouldn't unjustly grade me. This guy is too much,HUGE EGO.If you try and ask him questions he sees it as a threat and will purposefully embarrass you. HW is confusing and he doesn't care
ABNOXIOUS, ARROGANT, HUMILIATING. DO NOT TAKE if you have an option. If you do take him, DON'T ASK QUESTIONS. He will give you a silly answer or make you feel stupid because he expects you to know it all. He does not teach. It is expected that you will teach yourself. HIDE YOUR PHONE AND DON'T USE IT. He will stop the class 2 call you out.
Professor Antoniou is a hard professor I'm not going to lie. The class is hard. But all these people saying not to take him obviously don't get his teaching method. Ya this class isn't fun and there's a lot of work, but he says he wants you to ask questions when you leave. Not to answer them. If you expect to be spoon fed then don't take him.
I had him for BUS 302 & MGMT 305 and just know he teaches the classes COMPLETELY different...for a reason. As you are taking the class, you will be frustrated & annoyed with him because he wants YOU to figure it out. I was annoyed with him all semester but at the end I understood why he taught this way & I learned a lot about myself & my mgmt style
10 YEARS LATER: STILL A GREAT TEACHER. I posted a negative review 12 years ago. Like negative reviews, I wanted to pass and do nothing in or out of class. He's not a bad guy. He is helpful if you want him to be. 444 changed my mind about him because I had to pass the class over summer. You learn practical info from him. Gained a lot from office hr
Not clear at all, can be extremely rude. Will help if you need it but is extremely unapproachable bc of ego and constant intimidation of students. Will call on you if no one answers his questions, thank GOD the class had 120 ppl. If you are very lazy, you absolutely will not pass so don't bother. -2% off final grade every time you're not there.
Studied for the class and ended up failing. If you take him make sure your other classes are easy because he wants everything to be perfect; otherwise, he will remove lots of points. This is what I hate about business classes. It's too subjective unlike accounting or other concentrations. This guy is too unclear on what he wants. Do not Take EVER!!
It's a tough a class and Peter is a different type of a professor. I found the class challenging in some respects and easy in other areas. Over all I would recommend him only if you plan to learn. It's a really good class I learned a lot about myself and how other students view me.
The class was so vague, it was awful. He is not very helpful, at all. When you are giving your presentation, do not read off your note cards. He will walk up in the middle of your presentation and rip the note cards out of your hand. Horrible, horrible class
This is a difficult class, but I thought it was really interesting. If you work hard and put in full effort you will do fine in the class. Peter Antoniou makes the class interesting and teaches you how a college course should be taught.
Im an honor student so listen. This guy is a HORRIBLE. First, his instructions are confusing. Your going to be frustrated! His little pet that grades HW assignments hardly gives out A's. Mostly gives out d or f's. Also, "MOST" of the questions on the exam especially the finals has nothing to do with lecture. First exam:150 students only 1 B+ really
Very unclear about assignmentstests. My advice: write a lot for the WSJ assignments, get started early on the group project, don't skip class (HUGE part of your grade), multiple choice test questions come from power points so study them, ask ?'s and ignore his rudeness. Work had and you will pass. A lot more work than I expect for a 2 unit class.
There is a method to his madness. It is only revealed at the end though. His teaching style is "do whatever you want to do". Do not ask for clarification, there is none. Try to pass the first time is best. You would not want to have to retake this class. Also, the four hour Monday night lecture is not ideal. It is very hard to focus.
I really did not mind his class. He is a tough teacher. He is sarcastic but funny. He is a little unclear at times, but if you just go and ask him and show that you are really trying he will help you. Test are tough, but I highly suggest you review the power points. A lot of the multiple choice are from there.
The only thing I learned from this class is to refer to RATE MY PROFESSOR before enrolling in any class. Trust me-DO NOT take any class with this guy. You will regret it! His lectures are worthless and assignments are confusing at best.
If you are looking for an easy grade I recommend you take someone else. If you want to learn take him Prof. Antoniou is extremely intelligent and knows his craft. He has his own business and learning from him was extremely important for me.I would only recommend him if you are serious about becoming a business professional.
He is not bad at all. I got an A- in his class coming from a BC student. What you learned in the beginning of class will be used for the rest of the semester no new materials. He does make you work for your grade but as long as you understand the material it's really easy & repetitive. He's only intimidating bcause he doesn't like cellphones.
Great professor, but you have to work for your grade. Initiative and perseverance is important in this class. If you are the type of student that expects or needs everything handed to you in order to succeed then this professor will not be ideal for you. He is really helpful if you visit him during office hours.
He's actually not so bad. Just don't be lazy. Tests are tough but just make sure to study his lectures. He's a great professor and knows what he's talking about. Don't necessarily agree with how he grades because there's no chance to redeem yourself.
Not a bad professor, course material is fair, exams are curved and group project isn't bad. The professor is rude however and will interrupt you during your presentation. It totally messes the presenter up. Also, hide all technology or else he will take it from you- I felt like I was in 5th grade.
In my honest experience this is the least caring professor in the business department of CSUSM. Class consists of a boring lecture with the same powerpoint slides he's been using for years where he will pepper in a few incorrect "facts" which are difficult to fact check because of his strict no phone/laptop policy. Must be tenured. Terrible teacher
Really wants his students to learn, honestly one of the best professors at CSUSM. I learned a lot; however, if you are looking for an easy A, you are not going to get it with him. You have to work for it! The group project is not hard but there is a lot of research.
He is a VERY good teacher. You have to put in the work though. He is a tough grader and tests are hard. You HAVE to review the material. He is helpful in office hours, but nobody really ever goes. This is not a class that you can skip and get away with. If you put in the work you will pass. I got an A and im a B/C student. You will learn a lot.
Class is very vague & easy, he but doesn't explain anything. If your final PP doesn't look good, he'll call your group to present. Midterm consists of the entire book, WS analysis & everything Porter. Final is PP and memorization of articles for SOR on the test. My ACCT classes are no where near as stressful. U teach yourself for this class, it sux
I dropped this class after two weeks. This teacher is rude and treats students as if they are children. I am an A student and I usually give teachers a chance, but I didn't want to even try with this one which is a first for me. Assignments are unclear, lectures don't make any sense. I could not see myself ever taking this teacher again. Stay away.
Don't take him, if possible.
Loved this class! However, the first month... I couldn't stand him. He is tough & expects participation. Group projects are EVERYTHING in this class so give them 100% effort and show it. Read, study, PARTICIPATE & you will get a good grade. Just because you have to work for it doesn't mean its a bad class. You will learn SO much from him!
The best professor I ever had!!!!!!!
He is a great teacher. he holds you accountable for learning the material. if you like to be on your computer, cellphones or not pay attention in class then dont take him because he doesnt play that. he wants you to take your education seriously. nothing wrong with that. i had no problem with that. he was not mean. if you pay attention he is cool.
He is more appreciative and helpful in 444, but he's still the toughest grader in CoBA. He makes you speak in front of the class every class. It can be scary at first but it actually helps. The test are challenging but do-able. Asssinmenys are tough, sure. But you will be much better off as a business person if can survive this course.
go to every class, read all articles and watch videos but all applies to class. He curves the class A LOT!!! try your best a CB/B+ .. He is VERY SMART! like VERY VERY SMART. photographic memory smart. raise your hand ask smart questions.. people say there are never stupid q's.. In this class there is lol. He says hes a mean but he just scares.
Class is horrible, professor is broad and doesn't care about his students passing, do not take
I usually don't complain about professors, but Antoniou has to be the worst professor I've had in my time in college. He doesn't respect his students and doesn't do well in explaining anything. He doesn't read or grade the WSJ articles and is very rude when someone answers a question incorrectly. Avoid at all costs.
very intimidating teacher. If you ask any stupid questions, he will berate you in front of the class. He expects you to learn the material by yourself. If you expect to be spoon fed, this class isn't for you. It will be very difficult if you do not attend class. Your grade: 2 exams, 3 wsj articles, 1 sor chart, field project, attendance.
He's not mean, he is strict and can come off as intimidating. He's a nice professor who has a lot of knowledge outside of class and hes helpful. As long as you participate and do your work and respect him class. there should be no problem. But get to ready to really work the grade.
Everyone gives him a bad rap. these are 120 people classes he needs to put his foot down. Do your Wallstreet Journal articles and your SOR right and you've passed the class even with failing both tests. Show up to EVERY class you can loose a letter grade by not showing up 5 days.. Hes incredibly smart, and Ive learned a lot. Plus read the WSJ now.
This professor is difficult, not to mention hard to understand when he lectures. (accent wise) Didn't really learn much because I was too focused on not getting called on in class. In order to pass this class take your time on the wall street journals and SOR and do them right, and if you get D's on the tests you'll pass.
Overall not a hard class to pass even if you do poorly on the exams and assignments. Grade is based on 2 curved exams (35%), 3 WSJ assignments (15%), 1 SOR assignment (15%), participation (15%) and a group project (20% - consists of a paper and possible presentation). You may be able to find WSJ articles on the school library website for free.
This class required a lot of work and he is a little intimidating, but I learned so much! Do all the required readings, watch the movies, and come to class prepared. He calls on random people to answer questions which can be kind of nerve-racking, but you will be fine if you read. I actually thought he was funny and he really knows the subject!
I was nervous to take his class, but it wasn't bad at all. I feel most students just don't like being called on and put under pressure to state the correct answer, but he does it to the majority of students and I never took it personally. He is a challenger and a funny guy, and he taught BUS 302 very well/ assignments were reasonable!
Wow, This professor was quite difficult if I do say so myself. However, if you do the work and actually study for the exam it shouldn't be too difficult. Also, keep in mind that this professor is great at detecting bullcorn on WSJ articles/Analysis so keep is short and concise.
Plays the hard nosed professor who's there to make sure we all dont slide through school starring at our phones or laptops. Rightly so. Just DONT BE LATE, stay off your phone, don't checkout or get lost online or else he'll call you out like a 5yo. Head up, participate and know the basics of wth the class is discussing, and you'll be fine.
I understand why this class is as labor intensive and scary as it seems. If his teaching style wasn't the way it is, I probably wouldn't have learned or cared about anything in this class. However, I've had many difficult professors, so I'm used to it. Have a group you can study with all semester, read all material, and attend class.
This professor is very unclear and hardly gives any instruction on assignments. He's not receptive to student questions or emails, or anything in general. If you are put on the spot and don't know an answer he will humiliate you in front of the 125 person lecture. Make sure you have a seat behind the desk or he will kick you out. 100% DO NOT TAKE!!
He isn't welcoming to questions or anything not directly from the syllabus. He makes it hard to find material and questions your own questions. He expects you to be fluent in your reading material and gets annoyed by anyone he calls on who "doesn't understand". If you aren't prepared be ready to have a professor stare at you until come up with one.
Avoid at all costs! He is the rudest professor and is very unclear about assignments and when you do ask questions, he doesn't even answer them! On the midterm, make sure to know each model clearly. Make sure to be short and clear on the Wall Street Journals, just use quotes. 2 tests, 3 WSJ, 1 SOR, 15 page group paper, attendance.
This professor was the worst teacher I have ever had. There's no textbook for his class, but his tests are nearly impossible. Tough grader on written assignments and expects you to be completely prepared before each class to answer questions on the spot.
Saying class is difficult is an understatement. On the first day of school, he tells people to get out if you don't have a seat and a desk in front of you. He does this for a couple of weeks so don't be late. Lecture is terrifying, tests are hard and assignments are confusing. Attend class, read everything, pick a good group and good luck!
Honestly, the ppl who can't handle his class are usually the same ppl who are unprepared & lazy. Don't get me wrong, he's a jerk, but he has a lot of reality intense lectures & if you go into this class w/ the right perspective, you'll enjoy it. Just always come prepared & do all your assignments. 2 Tests, 3 WSJ, 1 SOR, 1 Group Proj
Honestly hes not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He is tough on his students but he wants them to succeed. His tests are nearly impossible but do the homework and show up to class and try to understand and you will pass. If your one of those students who want an easy A this is not the professor for you but i learned a lot from him.
for a class of 120 students I understand why he's not liked but he wants everyone to pay attention. Don't come to class with your laptop tryna web surf. If you do all the assignments and still bomb the tests, you could still pass. 3 wsj articles, 1 SOR chart and 2 tests. don't miss any homework, go to class and you'll be alright.
He is old school, be prepared for class know what to expect and you could pass with an A. Grade consists of WSJ Analysis, 2 exams, 1 group project, SOR chart and attendance. He can be intimidating but means no harm and is extremely knowledgeable. By far one of my favorite professors at CSUSM. I would recommend it!
Tough professor. Online material links often broken. Find someone whos taken the class before for guidance on assignments. Midterm you need to know the models inside and out, final you need to know everything covered in lectures, study the PowerPoints. Pick a competent team for the project, it and the final can boost you a whole letter grade.
I was misled by reviews arguing that all it takes is effort. your grade doesnt at all reflect your understanding of the material, but rather your understanding of what he is looking for in the assignments. golden tip: find someone who had succeeded in his class before and follow their assignment format because the prof will lead you the wrong way!
I have never rated a professor before but after taking him I felt that I need to share my experience with those who are thinking of taking him. First and foremost he doesn't respect his students if he picks on you and you answer wrong he will laugh at you. He is also not very clear on what he wants you to do for the assignments. Take someone else.
I tried to take BUS 302 for my Business Minor and tried to sit in the class to crash it. I realized after 30 minutes that this professor degraded his students and picked on them to deliberately make them feel bad. Maybe this was his way of inspiring the students to work harder but its not how I learn. Seems like he did a good job of lecturing tho.
One of the most savvy business profs; strategy consultant to HUGE co's. If you REALLY want to know how to run a solid business, he's the guy. BUT if you want a fluff class look elsewhere. In 302 he's strict on things to weed-out those who don't have the stomach for Bus. Be on time, PUT UR PHONE AWAY, know what u're supposed to know and u'll be good
He can come off quite intimidating, I dreaded going to this class. But just stay keep up with the work load, make sure you get 4's or 5's (even better) on the WSJ's, know how to do your SOR chart, study for the test, and show up EVERYDAY and you will get a decent grade. Side note, come early to class to get a chair and don't be on your phone.
A great teacher with a lot of expertise with great stories. Very inspirational, clear, and knows a lot about appearance and presentation style.
He can be a bit intimidating and even scary but it doesnt mean that hes not a good professor. And hes actually nice outside the classroom. Hes very knowledgeable and knows the material. Ive learned a lot from his lectures and the assignments. Make sure that youre not on your phone in his class because hes gonna call you out.
The people that he "picked on" are bad students. He is also an easy grader. For the WSJ get the model right and you should get full credit, it's easy. SOR chart is easy too with the study guide he gives. Exams are very hard but it's only 15% for the midterm 20% for the final. Make sure you get a good group for the project.
For a hard class, I learned a lot. He needs to update his syllabus and fix the links on CC, because most of them are broken. 2 tests, 1 project, 3 WSJ, and 1 SOR. Make sure you know how to do the last two assignment formats just mentioned and study them for the two tests! Know someone who already took his class for correct formatting.
Attendance is a crucial. Although incredibly arrogant, he is a brilliant man. Pay attention because you will benefit from the information in other business classes. Ask questions if you need explanations and stay off of your electronic devices or you will be sorry. You probably think you'll fail the class. Deep breath, tests are curved.
He doesn't explain the assignments. You have to be connected to students who have taken his class in the past in order to understand how to do the work. Very few of his required reading links work. There are four written assignments and a group paper and presentation to do. Plus two exams. Not much to be graded on.
A trend in his 302 class: those who negatively about him have a hard time spelling the word "initiative". Yes, he is tough on students, but for good reason. If you go to his office hours, ASK QUESTIONS, stay on top of your work and care about the class, you'll be fine. Otherwise, he won't hesitate to give you the grade you DESERVE.
Antoniou isnt as bad as everyone makes him seem. He can be tough on his students, but it's for a good cause. Hes really big on professionalism and punctuality. Lectures can be a little dry sometimes but I learned a lot. Tests are pretty dense to where it seems impossible to pass. That said,if you do the WSJ and SOR analysis correct, you'll pass.
Good guy. Accent isn't too bad. WSJ's are easy. SOR Charts are not bad. Don't even have to study for exams as nothing you study will be on them for the most part. They are passable. Final was 80% common sense questions. The required reading book is used 3-4 times.
This was the hardest class I've taken yet within the school of business, but I feel like I learned the most from it. A lot of the information doesn't seem relevant but you will see a lot of it in other classes. Wonderful person outside of class as well. Just make sure you read the syllabus a couple times over.
He spends his time creating difficult and unclear tests rather than providing students with study guides and clear instructions to learn. Likes to challenge the class on a personal level. Wording is very vague. Miss one class that is 2% off your total grade. First test. He was half an hour late. But don't ever be late to his class.
A couple of comments below mention how people who do not like his class are lazy. Completely untrue. I have always been a hard worker and a great student. Impossible to meet his high expectations. Is an extremely harsh grader. Ifeel like a failure every time I got a paper back with comments. Expectations about work unclear. I would avoid his class.
Don't buy the book. Used it once. None of it is on his exams. Gotta love the guy though. He drills people who are late to class and it's hilarious. Failed the first exam, probably the final as well, got a D on the term paper and passed with a C+. Don't know many classes where this is possible. Do the WSJs and SORs, you'll be just fine.
Worst professor I've ever had in my educational career. You lose 2% with every absent, no questions asked. His lectures are boring and dry. He's not very welcoming when it comes to questions or debates. The atmosphere in the class is tense, boarder line scary. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
This professor is a bully. At the end of the semester we have group presentations. People who would have trouble and need to look at note cards/the power point would get the notecards ripped out of their hands while they were speaking or the powerpoint shut off. He doesn't give clear instruction on assignments. He billittles people constantly.
I was really anxious showing up to every single class. He can be extremely intimidating. In fact, I hated going to class. Why does he get a 5? I think he is a necessary experience for many students. Life is not easy. Life is not fair. Give it your all. Pay attention to what he wants(He is the boss). You will succeed. He is a very intelligent man.
This semester I did better then I expected.. It's honestly quite easy if you do EXACTLY what he tells you. Do all the readings before class. Don't skip one class. Figure out the WSJ/SOR. Come prepared to your presentation. For the test they are exactly the power-points... Goodluck(:
Skip class - 2% off your grade, each time. Links online? They purposely don't work so you have to "search for them." His handwriting is horrid. He publicly shames those who don't sit in a seat at a desk. He will make you raise your hand if you prepared for class, and individually count those people. Bad teacher, ambiguous, poor communication.
Lecture notes are available online, but he does add on during lecture. At the end of the semester, everything is out of 100. There's a group project/ presentation at the end of the semester. Must study before exams! That is a big must. Exams are rough. He will answer questions, but it must not be something that is already explained in the syllabus.
He barks loud, but the class isn't that hard. Few assignments, all of which are listed in the somewhat confusing syllabus. Most of my stuff was graded on grammar rather than content. His lectures are interesting. If you're a slacker, always late, or try to sneak on your phone, he's going to single you out. Expect to behave professionally.
Holds students to standards higher than they hold themselves to. One of the few professors within COBA that holds a DBA. If you can't hack it in a safe setting such as this, consider majoring in another field. You are expected to be on time, make it to class, and do the requisite prep beforehand. Welcome to the real world. Fantastic professor.
Working on your final project there will be tons of ambiguity, but only one right product. I think he's very intentional about this. Giving minimal, hard to follow instructions forces you to ask the right questions. In a semester he'll expose you to internal and external environment factors through the environment of the class sessions and project
Professor Antoniou is a hard grader and very strict professor. But also, he is very knowledgeable and experienced on his subject. He expects students to be professionals and behave well in the classroom. If you are taking his course is because one day you expect to be a business professional, so this is class is a good place to start.
Avoid if possible. Worst class environment I have experienced while in college. He shames students for arriving late, and is constantly on the prowl for students looking at their laptops too often. His grading is very tough, so you are not sure of his expectations until he marks all over your homework.
one of the worst teachers. extremely rude and does anything to embarrass students. does not explain
This class is unnecessarily hard for no reason other than to just be a hard class. The professor will grade you on what he wants on that specific day.
Professor Antoniou is an interesting professor. He is very strict on people arriving on time or doing things to the book in his class but his lectures are very interesting. Overall the class is pretty stressful through the whole semester because of his tough grading, and grades arent published until finals so you dont really know how you're doing.
Dr. Antoniou has good intentions, but the workload is beyond a 2-unit course. There is lots of reading, and in-class work. Also, be ready to discuss the reading because he will call you out. He also tends to belittle his students. His course is basically pass or fail. As long as you do EXACTLY what he wants you to do, then you should be fine.
Everyone who rates this professor low is a wimp. Just show up pay attention do the work and dont ask stupid questions. This energy he carries is a desire to get his students to use critical thinking and independence. Hes like a drill instructor serious and unforgiving but big heart for his students. Class was easy even though I slacked big time.
Great professor who has clear expectations laid out. Show up, do the readings and review the slides for the lecture BEFORE CLASS!! Do the WSJs and SORs, which arent hard at all. Tough exams, so study the ppts. One field project towards the end of the semester. He will call you out if you show up late to class. Put in the effort and you will pass.
Antoniou gets a lot of hate, but honestly if you just do the work thats required and turn things in on time you'll do just fine. Don't expect things to be handed to you and go to him with excuses. Ask him questions if you need help or clarifications, he's actually really easy to approach or email.
Really exhausting to be lectured on business strategy and innovation by someone who could be easily replaced by a YouTube playlist.
Horrible communication, never teaches anything and expects everyone to know the material before he talks about it. very rude in class and doesn't take anyone emotions into account and calls everyone out. Never take this professor, he is not nice, friendly or a good professor at all. Seems like he is here for a paycheck and that is it.
He does not communicate or put any effort. His site is full of dead links, the textbook is missing large topics of the class, and he's tremendously rude. The work is simple enough, real easy, but don't expect him to teach you anything, it's all found via Google. Not a hard class by any means but it's one I dread more than most other things. Skip it
Very old fashioned; does not use online grade platform, and course page is disorganized as all hell. Very belligerent and tempermental toward students in online setting. Expects you to think like he does, and struggles to see from any other perspective. Deadlines are confusing and not easily found on Cougar Courses.
Professor Antoniou is definitely a difficult teacher. If you put in the effort for the for class you will pass. Attendance is mandatory and he will mark 5% of you final grade for not being there. However, if you ask him for help during his office hours he will help and give you the answers. I took him for both 302 and 444 and he isn't that bad.
The most confusing class I have ever taken. Cougar courses is super confusing and unorganized, hard to understand where we are in the week. His lecture slides are VERY vague, do not give information and I am a visual learner so they do not help. He is very rude and yells at students for not having their camera on. The whole semester I was lost.
I would avoid this class at all cost. Take other professors. If you are taking this class online, it will be confusing. The links he has on the syllabus don't work. Does not upload grades so you'll have to figure it out yourselves. Always looking at students and calls them out during zoom. I suggest taking this class with another prof. take my advi
worst professor ever. doesn't help when you ask for it. He doesn't care for his students. Why is he still a professor? Does the college not notice that he is the worst..
Antoniou isn't as bad as everyone says. Do your readings, watch the videos, follow the assignment instructions, and study heavily for the exams. This is the class where you'll need to learn how to articulate and speak in a public setting, you can't sit quietly in the corner and succeed. He will call you out. Group presentations are randomly picked.
Unnecessarily a harsh grader. Doesn't really care for students success in the class and will assume you know what to do for assignments and the project of you don't ask specific questions. Will call you out if you're on your phone, talking to someone off screen, or if camera isn't on. Topics on exams aren't covered in class. Good luck :/
The class wasnt necessarily the hardest, however the way it was instructed made it the most difficult course in my collegiate experience, and thus producing my lowest grade. Subpar communication, confusing exams, unfulfilling lectures.
Unusually harsh, most questions asked will be returned with "Check the syllabus" and then the syllabus has one sentence on your question. Super confusing for a 2 unit class. Not the hardest, but the most dreadful class in my collegiate experience. Group project is randomly assigned. My sincerest regards to those who take it. You'll need it.
Mean guy from start to finish of class. Don't bother asking questions, he will belittle you. Definitely not a mentor in any way, shape or form. He rationalizes by saying he is preparing people for the "real world", when in fact he is just being rude. I feel sorry for anyone who still has to take his class. He needs to be evaluated by the college.
This is the worst class and prof I've ever had. Prof is not clear at all and will look for any reason to call students out. Literally had an attitude every day. Like others said, he's not very helpful. The work itself isn't too bad but he just makes the class a mess. Not a good learning envirionment. Do yourself a favor and look for another class.
It's only the first day and I already know he's gonna be a handful. Considering about dropping him. Extremely rude and demanding. Says he doesn't care about our opinions. Demands everyone to have their camera on or her will remove you from the class. Never had a class where attendance was such a big deal. Will remove 2 points each time absent.
I have this prof. for both BUS 302 and MGMT 302 and can already tell this class is going to be hell. His course page makes no sense, he has no links to assignment aside from where you need submit them. He is not co-operable and very inconsiderate of the life outside of the student. Seriously, this school needs to re-evaluate this teacher.
So I had this professor for one week and that is all it took for me to drop his course. First day of class he demanded everyone to turn on cameras, He called out people who didnt have a webcam and called them all LAZY. Hes extremely rude, not clear on topics, the cougar courses assignments are hard to find. Probably the worst professor I had AVOID
Run as far away from this professor as possible. He doesnt care about you or the class.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR, doesn't look out for the students had to drop this class due to him being terrible, and such a critical grader yet being so vague on our material that we are demanded to learn. if I could give this professor a 0 I would. but it doesn't let me If you guys ever take him run. . . not worth the amount of money we are spending ...
Cookie cutter power points from textbook. Cares mostly about camera being on, and making sure no one is wearing a hat. No constructive feedback on any assignments. No clear written expectations of assignments, then graded harshly on not meeting his expectations. No grades recorded on Cougar courses. Outdated ancient written"exercises". AVOID!
If you read this I beg you to find another professor or wait till next semester for a better teacher. He is terrible at giving instructions and doesn't grade a single paper that you turn. If you look at the average he's received on ratings it's plain to see he's not a good professor. Probably just another one of those ten year types.
Good luck.
I wish I was lying but Peter is legitimately the worst professor I have ever had. Gives the most confusing instructions and wait till you see how he "organized" the cougar courses. SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT I PROBABLY LOST 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE DUE TO STRESS!
Tough and can be short or rude but his lectures are good and overall the class is pretty easy. Graded on 3 cases, 2 exams, and 1 paper/presentation. Overall this class is not difficult at all and if you pay attention in class you'll pass. I had this prof for 302 and he was very rude but he was much chiller in this class. He has good experiences.
Not the best teacher, not the worst. Not the most difficult class either. Most people shy away from taking his courses because they dont want to deal with him, but they are walking away from an easy course load. Whether you like him a lot, his classes arent difficult. 3 assignments, 2 tests, 1 project.
To start, I usually prove people wrong about bad teachers and professors, but this guy was the first instance of me being wrong about him being a bad prof. To say he's bad is a complete understatement, he was downright horrible. He is extremely rude and takes it out on you for no reason and is a lazy grader and overall lazy professor. Stay clear!!!
Does not care for students!
Professor Antoniou will probably teach you the most in college. He is very intimidating but he will make you learn and come to class prepared. Also, he was never rude to me, but I also acted appropriately during class. A lot of students who had a difficult time with him never paid attention to his rules.
Very Unclear, Doesn't really Explain Material, Very Unorganized, Very Strict Grader
He does not explain anything and it will be the most confusing and weird class of your life. Very big on group projects but the group projects make no sense. He lectures about literally nothing. Stay away from this professor if possible
If you are reading this, I beg you to not take any of this professor's classes! There were no instructions for our first group presentation and when we asked for guidelines, he told the class "figure it out, do what you think is best". When the presentation was due, he graded everyone harshly and told us that we should have submitted a paper for it!
Antoniou is by far the worst professor I have ever had. He does not provide any instructions for the group assignments and did not answer any questions about what he expected to be turned in. He provides very little if any feedback on assignments and does not enter grades until the end of the semester. Trust me do not take any class with him.
Class ends in a week and I still have no clue what my grade is as he has not graded anything. He always has a permanent frowny face constantly searching for prey. He can read a 8 page paper and his only comment will be "1/5 more depth needed". I submitted the bee movie script and he replied "1/5 more depth needed" what more does he want?
I think Professor Antoniou believes the only way he can get students to work together is by being withholding. I am someone who does not need much direction. He reminds me of Simon Cowell. Very judgmental, non-helpful, a little abusive. Ignore his weirdness. He is a fair grader. Don't take him personally. You will learn how to work in groups.
Professor Antoniou is always right about everything. Everyone else is always wrong. He sets up students to maintain his superior position. You will never please him, he does not value you. He does not care about your learning. He cares about maintaining a superior position while everyone around him jumps around looking like idiots. Know this.
was assigned to peter as our faulty advisor for the senior experience, he did not make sense at all, did not help us or guide us through out the project and forced his opinion on the project, please do not take him unless you constant stress and frustration. we did everything that was asked for and still got a B.
There are a lot of bad things said about Antoniou, but the only advice I have for those who are new to him is you do you. He's going to come off very harsh but at the end of the day he's just someone who has no filter whether you like it or not. I would just do my work and try to get it done with to the best of my ability.
Quite the workload for a 2 unit course, He is unclear frequently and at times does not answer emails in a proper way. Rude remarks throughout class if a student had a backpack on the table, or even a phone on the table. Easy to not be interested in his class.
this professor was so annoying and everyone failed the exams bc he did not teach and was never clear with instructions and when someone asked questions he would rudely tell them to look in the syllabus
I did not learn a single thing in both of his classes this semester. He is an awful professor.
Towards the end of the semester he is starting to become very nice. Honestly he just doesn't give clear instruction. if you ask him something you will get embarrassed. Anytime you have a question look at the syllabus and save yourself some trouble. The only thing i actually learned was how to do an Industry report.
He is ver vague in his instructions but wanted specific things in assignments. Make sure to read the customized readings. The textbook on the CSUSM bookstore is not necessary, don't both renting it.
I have never seen a professor interrupt and actively discourage questions in an online session. How. Does. He. Still. Have. A. Job.
The class shouldn't be difficult but he makes it that way. He is rude and doesn't explain the assignments. Everyone failed the midterm and the group project went on the entire semester without clear instructions, rubric, or examples. I didn't know my grade until I saw my transcript and never knew what I received on my final and the final project.
Horrible. He interrupted people during presentations and yelled SPEAK UP. I heard from fellow classmates who sat near him while groups were presenting, he was talking sh*t about their outfits. Insanely unprofessional. Crazy this guy is still teaching. He also forced everyone to buy his textbook which we did not use ONCE the entire semester.
He essentially does this "tough love" kind of teaching style and it didn't work for me. Attendance is mandatory. You do not necessarily have to participate but don't even think about going on your phone or he will call you out. Groups are chosen by him for the entire semester, but you can "fire" members. Exams are HARD. This class gave me anxiety.
Dont buy his textbook, it's only 96 pages and we never touched it. Read over all the slides b4 exams. Pick a group that wants to work, not friends. Hes not awful outside of the exams. Make good connections with other students to do HW properly. Attendance mandatory. The class is an experience to help you learn for yourself. Not too bad overall.
Little to no transparency with final grading. Refuses to post final project grade as well as final exam grade. Recommend staying out of this class.
Very rude and shows very little respect for his students, I would avoid taking any of his classes unless you have no other choice.
I knew what I was getting myself into when signing up for his class, so I was somewhat prepared. The best advice is to stay on top of your weekly assignments, the SORs and WSJs are such a huge portion of your grade so definitely make sure to complete them. Make sure you pick a good team for your presentation/ project.
Took Antoniou for 302 in Fall 2018 - got an A, but wasn't enjoyable. Useful class Took Antoniou for 444 in Fall 2019 - got an A-; FANTASTIC experience. He was supportive, engaging, and challenging. 302 is a gateway course; he is going to weed out people who aren't serious. HIGHLY recommend taking him in 444 if you get the opportunity.
Unprofessional from the beginning until the end, Everyone can agree his system is old and needs to be updated, never listens to students. The worst professor in San Marcos, no idea how he got hired to be honest. Pete if you are reading this, please take time to evaluate yourself instead of trying to make fun of students to make yourself look good.
