Study the study guides that he provides,and take notes. I read only some of the required chapters; it was helpful. He kept the 3hour long classes interesting each evening.

Mr. B is a very interesting person. His lessons and they way he presents them makes me really think, even though it's early in the morning! I especially liked the World Religions class. A lot of what I learned in that class I still remember today.

I took many clases with prof. Bolland because hes awesome. The clases are easy but I felt like I did learn a lot and he is just such a laid back and humble guy and hes totally approachable and I dont know of anyone who has failed. Take any class you can with him!

PB is an austonishing individual with a great capacity to communicate wisdom to his students.Incites studets to develop an opinion and brings out the best of each student. Class discussions are awesome. The material used is beautifull. Great guy to talk in class or out of class. I recommend a lot!!!

Prof. Bolland was a really cook, kick back teacher. His class is easy - just take notes everyday and you'll ace all his exams!! he's easy and makes class fun, it's just sitting through 1 hour of a religion class that's boring, but he's really cool and fun! you should take him..easy A!!

Bolland is one of SWC's elite! A lot of idiots take his class because its easy...well do what you got to do, but the real headz know what's up. He uses vivid examples in his lectures that stick with you forever. I've taken 3 of his classes and all were dope as hell! BIGUP BOLLAND!

Excellent class! Dr. Bolland condensed 10,000 years of Asian philosophy into one slightly painful semester. Plus, he's a musician, which makes him a natural performer. Take his class and be enlightened!

Mr/ Bolland is one the best teachers i've ever had. I took his 106,107, and his 120 class and i don't think i have acquired so much insight in all my semesters as i did in his classes. There isn't much busy work. The grade is made up of usually three tests and a paper. Taking good notes and truly listening to this wise man does the job.

Mr Bolland is an excellent instructor. His tests are easy as long as the study guides are completed THOROUGHLY. try not to bunch them up a few days before the tests either because he has "popquiz" halfsheets to be done at the beginning of class on random days. You will enjoy the class and his ability to teach and get the point across is unmatched.

This guy is one of the bst teahers I've ever had. He loves what he does and it shows. His classes are usually full and with good reason. He is not easy, but he is not ridiculously hard either. There is something about his style of teaching that makes you take him for everything.

Best teacher ever! What other teacher allows you to practically score 'A's on your exams by allowing you to use book and lecure notes, no other. Besides his lectures are so fun not boring at all. His exams just a review of what he lectures and if you have notes, you won't be in class more than 20 min. He inspires you to open your mind to new things

Cool guy, cool class. Make sure you are ready for PHILOSOPHY, you talk a lot. Wander off subject somewhat but he is very knowledgable and interesting, and even humorous sometimes. The book is really what you need though.

Prof. Bolland is a pretty cool/laid back person. I'm not a morning person, so I was partially out of it, but I did take a lot from his asian philosophy class. Thankfully all his exams are open note. He provides a sheet each chapter with the keyterms, so look em up and do a lil' more research and you should be goodbut it also helps to actually understand the concepts/logic too. =) His group gathering, "The Circle" was pretty fun too. I met some cool people and I hope he continues it next semester. =)

Class is very interesting. Explains things well. On every test you can you your notes. Study guide questions are basically the same as on the test. Isn't that strict on attendance. Very pleasant and cool.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! i came into the class to clear one of the GE requirements but i ended up loving to wake up at 9am for his class (and i am NOT morning person). all the homework is reading, 3 tests that are open notes. he gives out study guides for the notes you need for the test. very insightful lectures.

Mr. Bolland teaches at a High School level. Not to offend the guy. But this class is very very very VERY easy! If you want an A just do all the study guides. OH and it's open notes on the exams. You'll be glad you took that A.

This is one of my favorite professors in southwestern! His lectures were deep and interesting. He is very passionate and it seems like he enjoys his job. The class is really easy, since you are allowed to use study guides on the exams. You'll only fail or get a bad grade if your extremely LAZY. He's really helpful and well organized, take him!

Sometimes in class the concepts he explains can be a little foggy; might sound like he's speaking in riddles, but if you read you'll get it. Highly recommend.

He will remind you of Stewie from Family Guy. ON HIS TESTS THE ANSWERS ARE ALL OF THE ABOVE. Easy A if you do the study guides. He gives you study guides for the tests and you can use them on the tests and the tests are also open notes.

Wonderful, wonderful teacher! I took his ethics class and he got me thinking about a lot of things in the world today. Pretty easy class to pass, there's about 5 tests (including the final, half sheets(pop quizzes) he tells you about, and one research paper. Makes the class laugh and is a pleasure to listen to in lecture! Take him!

Prof. Bolland? Only best teacher ever! I love this man, if you are looking for a philosophy related class this is the one you want to be teaching it. I've taken 2 classes with him and would continue taking more if he taught every subject. Definitely 5/5.

Certainly a great instructor. However, he is hardly academically demanding at all. Although he respects students' opinions, he does not question them to help them improve expressing ideas. Certainly an easy A, but remember that with his high schoolish grading method, 17.5% of the total grade is solely showing up on the right days (luck, mostly).

It was the BEST class I had at southwestern. It was during a time in my life where all his insights and his awesome teaching style made the class the most interesting thing of the week!! TAKE HIS CLASS they are always full so get there early on the first day.

Awesome professor!I took him for world religions and world mythology. 80% of the time his lectures are very captivating and thought provoking(which is what I LOVED),some were a slight boring but it all depends on what your're interested in. He grades pretty fair and gives a study guide for his tests which have almost all the answers

Had him for Philosophy 106 world relgions, HANDS DOWN BEST TEACHER I have ever had.This man really knows his stuff and describes things in the most vivid and luminous manner. I learned something valuable(not like other classes) every session, and after the sessions you feel somewhat enlightened. He has good humor and supremely good vibes.

For someone that is good at test taking, it is a fairly easy class. He only really teaches through lectures, but that doesn't mean they are boring. Always brought in some sort of current event or anecdote on the side to help us relate to the material at hand. Has a true passion for his subject, a quality not found in many professors.

Professor Bolland is a great teacher, Inspiring and knowledgable. To get an A in the class, read the chapters, follow the study guide and answer the questions, they're in chronological order. Open note exams. One final paper. Show up to class and take notes!

A real learning experience he is so passionate about his teachings that he really makes the class so enjoyable. Textbook definitely needed all quiz questions are in the study guide some of the study guides are long but he goes in order.

Hands down, Professor Bolland is the best professor I've had at Southwestern College. His lectures are always interesting and relatable. The tests are easy if you listen to the lectures and do the study guide. Professor Bolland is helpful and open to opinions. I would definitely take the course again.

Bolland is by far my favorite professor! All his tests are open note & study guide giving you an easy opportunity to get an A but making sure you know all the info based off the study guide. All his lectures are interesting and open for group discussions. I took him for both World Religions & World Myth.. & plan on taking his asian studies class!!!

Take him. You won't regret it. Such an easy class but at the same time, highly informative and even life changing. I learned so much. All you have to do is complete study guides that he gives you and the notes you take are exactly what the test is based on. On top of it all, he's a hilarious guy. Lectures were never boring. Best teacher ever. He was a great teacher, really inspiring. Makes you fall in love with philosophy. Lots of reading, but it's worth it.

Great professor. Only gives three exams, one research paper, and like ten half sheets. Attendance is required, but he is tolerable and allows 7 days of absences. His World Religions class is life changing. You get to meet many people and learn so much. Totally recommended!

Bolland is a great teacher, and really cares about philosophy. The whole class is basically a giant lecture, and all the answers are in the book. STUDY GUIDES ARE KEY.

Prof. Bolland is an absolute delight to have as a teacher. He is so chill and his lectures are super interesting. He does take attendance every day, so go to class! Definitely get the text books because he gives study guides which you can use for the open note tests, so write proper answers for them.

Bolland is an edgy, slightly funny, easy going professor. Tests are all open note. The most imp. thing is the study guides! The study guides are like a never ending war. I kid you not, once you finish a study guide he gives you another one. Other than that, his class was fairly easy if you're willing to keep up with the work.

Anything less than an A is you trying to fail. He really cares about what he teaches and you can see that through his lectures.

Professor B. Is an amazing teacher! Really passionate about philosophy, his lectures are clear and easy to understand concepts. He really does open your eyes to a lot of different things!!! He is really funny and smart. Encourages to share different perspectives and ideas openly. Would defiantly recommend to other students!!!!!!

Open note test, but lots of notes. This class is life changing. Meeting Professor Bolland, Hes inspirational, and his lectures are intriguing and mind blowing. Youre letting yourself down if you miss out on an opportunity to be in his class. Prepare to find your heros journey and have a whole new positive perspective on life.

He doesn't really give a lot of homework however the ones he does are very lengthy. The only good thing about the homework is that you get to use them on the tests and if you answered the questions correctly, you'll get an "A" on every test. The homework will be scary and first but you'll thank yourself that you did them. 1 essay but it wasn't hard

Professor Bolland is one of, if not, the greatest professor I've ever had. I enjoyed listening to his lectures and is truly an inspiration. He honestly made me consider changing my major to Philosophy. Even if you don't need the class, I highly recommend just taking it for the experience. It is truly eye opening.

He's more than a teacher, if you're having problems in your personal life his lectures are a relief from the rest of the world, just have to be willing to actually listen to him. He's laid-back, understanding, and caring 100%. He covers mainly Indian philosophy and a little bit of Buddhism. Take his class you need him and don't even know it yet.

I loved learning about the different world religions through a philosophical way with Professor Bolland! What an amazing person, his lectures are never boring. Very few HW assignments but the ones that he gives are SO important. As long as you do all the chapter questions he assigns you will get an A.

Peter Bolland is a great professor for World religions. your grade is based on a 5 page paper, 3 exams, and 7 half sheets. The study guides are long and I mean long like 3 study guides in total over 150 question so don't procrastinate. His lectures are very interesting and I recommend for this class. you won't be disappointed.

Professor Bolland is the best! He gives great feedback and cares for his students. He gives really long study guides but if you do them all you will get an A in his exams. We also do a 5 page essay which is really easy.

Peter Bolland is by far the best professor I've met. He is the perfect mix of academic, inspiring, real, understanding, and passionate about the knowledge he has to share. That being said, his tests are challenging! Read, pay attention, take notes, care about the class, and you will pass.

PLEASE TAKE HIS CLASS! Although you are not a Philosophy major, you will find his lectures very interesting. He is very inspirational,hilarious and very accessible. You can borrow textbook at the library, and must read to complete your study guides (exams are open notes). Amazing professor! Easy A :)

Professor Bolland is amazing! I was hesitant when I first took it but he was very respectful of everyone and all the religions and did a great job! His study guides are very helpful but long!! GET READY TO WRITE!! He is there to answer any question you may have. Make sure you do the guides cause exams are an open note.

Great professor! He's funny, makes grading criteria clear, do the study guides and you will pass with an A! Doesn't have canvas so you won't know your final grade until posted on web advisor but you can keep track of your points and know that way. Recommend taking this class and this professor!

Professor Bolland is in all honesty a great guy; he's friendly, extremely conscientious, and wants you to succeed. It's obvious that he has a genuine passion for the subject he teaches, and although my chosen curriculum is leading me on a different path, I wouldn't hesitate to take him again! I had him my last semester at SwC before graduating and he is one of the most kind teachers at Southwestern College. Also, if you do not show up to class you will miss a lot of lecture notes which are important for the exams.

I love professor Bolland. He's very inspirational and he knows a lot about the different religions. He has an amazing personality and is super charismatic. Tests are insanely easy. They are open HANDWRITTEN notes. He gives study guides for each chapter. There's one paper due towards the end but is very easy. Overall, just a very enjoyable class.

Awesome dude! I took his World Religions class in the Fall and he always made weekly discussions inclusive for all religious beliefs. Don't be intimidated by the final paper. It will NOT be a research paper. He only wants you to pick out your 5 favorite teachings from the class and describe their application in your life. Really cool lecturer too

I took Bolland's world religions class online and it was very easy, simple and organized. We had weekly discussions and quizzes on specific religions but his quizzes were easy and you get two attempts. His final is just a paper about the practices you learnt and he offers an extra credit assignment at the end of the semester. 100% recommend Bolland

Bolland is direct in his expectation of students and fair in his grading. He doesn't "micromanage" - if you don't complete the work, you don't get the credit. He was timely in his response to communication and provided feedback on assignments. He would jump into discussions as well. Overall, well structured course with a well educated professor.

Easy to understand lectures which he uploads on YouTube, & encourages you to dig deep. Quizzes are easy as long as you answer the study guide &Discussion prompts are insightful.

world mythology w/prof bolland is amazing! amazing captioned lectures on youtube where he drops a lot of knowledge & insight. some thought-provoking, fun db's. 8 quizzes, wkly db's & a final essay (easy bc it's not research-based). just make sure to read the book for the quiz study guides. i'm not only gonna miss his class, but him as a prof/person

He made videos that explained the topics we were focusing on every week and gave us study guides that had all the answers for the quiz. There is one big essay at the end which is the final. He is an easy grader and his discussions are easy.

he is the best professor, my family had him before and they really like him and also if you ever need extra time for a quiz if you are busy tell him through canvas and he will accept it and his learning leutures are amazing and really amazing. i would take him again.10 out of 10 fully recommand

I've had professors who are painfully unorganized when it comes to their online classes and act like students don't have jobs or other stuff happening besides school, but Prof.Bolland is super super organized, so you rarely get confused about his deadlines and what he wants to see in your work. Easy A, Most of the class is discussions and small quizzes, interesting topics, and a great professor.

Professor Bolland is the type of prof to go on tangents when something interesting comes up. I think because of this, he brings a lot of depth to what he teaches. Lecture only class with homework that's easy if you paid attention. Quizzes are based almost entirely on reading, so lots of reading to be done.
