Talks over everyone's head, yet knows his subject. Tries hard to help you learn. If you can't read a graph, don't take the course.

People who say he is hard don't enjoy to learn. If you plan to learn this subject take this teacher and you will remember more from him then any other ECON teacher on campus.

Great prof; sharp guy; doesn't mind tardiness if you talk in class; he uses big words though, and his tests are exactly a walk in the park; if you interested in global issues (int'l study majors) you'll love him;

He is a great teacher...he will call on you though, so be prepared! Tests are somewhat hard, study and you will be fine. His one and only rule is, "Answer."

Makes a dull subject interesting with his quick wit and humor. Obviously, he has strong points of view but doesn't impose them on his students. Very interactive and will call you out if you aren't paying attention. Still this is hard to do because it is an interesting class.

Good professor who cares about your opinion on all matters. Keeps class interesting and you get your moneys worth.

this guy is cool as hell. all you gotta do is know the material. his teast aren't that bad i thought they were kinda easy just include a graph he likes that.

He is an awesome Professor, he actually cares about your opinion and what you think, and if you dont know something in class he will explain it a different way until you understand it. I highly reccommend him for any Econ. if you have to take it. He is such an awesome professor

He is a great professor. Keeps class interesting. He's cool in class, a dick outside of class. He doesn't specify what is going to be on the exam, so you end up cramming everything (instead of only the important stuff). Doing this you forget the material two days after the test. He's very helpful

This is by far the best economics professor!! He's funny and interesting. His exams are tough, but he curves them. Pay attention and answer his questions and you'll be fine! I'll def. take him again!!

Dr. Cashel-Cordo is one of the most interesting, intelligent and helpful professors that I have ever had. He takes complex ideas and makes them understandable and he will help you with any questions you have. This class is one of THE most interesting I have ever taken.

I took him for an intro economics class, I worked hard but it really paid off. My next two economics classes were cake because he really taught well and I retained all the information. Great professor, nice person.

If you are a slacker taht just wants to get through, you should take him so he will kick your ass. However, if you are a serious sudent that wants to have actually learned something for school, he's your man. He is inspiring and brilliant. He is my favorite professor and the closest thing to a "mentor" (I don't use the word lightly) that I have.

Here is a professor that really cares about his students-no matter what he says. This is the hardest choice for Micro, but it will make the rest of your Econ/Fin classes so much easier for having stuck it out here. Yeah, he can be a butt, but he knows it and he really does care. Hard to find another prof that ranks up as high as he does. -Bob

If you're tired of boring lectures, take Cordo. He is the best teacher I've had so far! Some say his tests are hard, but if you study, you should have no problem. He is also very willing to help his students-he wants his students to learn!

His tests are relatively hard because the multiple choice can be tricky, but the essays usually prove to be pretty easy. He is good about giving partial credit if you display some understanding of the topic. He really does know the material.

Doctor Cordo is an intelligent professor who cares wheter his students are learning the material or not. If you study the material and take good notes in class, then you should be able to earn a good grade.

Dr. Cordo really cares about the students, and will do anything he can to assist his students. Beware, if you are a slacker, he will kick your ass, you better care about your education if you take him. He is a true mentor to his students, if you accept his help.

HARD!!!!

Cordo is a nice guy but is a very tough prof. If you are not able to read each and every chapter he will cover than do not take the class. He doesn't use the book but if you don't read it you will be so lost. You have a quiz every Friday over the material covered and also the chapters covered. 10 pt. quizes every Friday can add up!

Great guy, loves to teach the subject. as long as you take notes and studie a litte you'll do fine.

He does an amazing job teaching. I wasn't interested in econ at all before I took his class, but he made it very interesting!

This material is not the easiest, but Cordo is awesome! He makes every class interesting and will do anything to help out if you need it. Yes, the class is hard but he is the best to take it with.

One must take very good notes and read the text to expect a high grade. By just showing up and sitting through class nothing will be achieved.

This is a hard class. Reading the book and taking extremely good notes will help. You also need to speak up in this class, he really likes people who participate. He also curves every grade which makes it easier.

He's great. He's got a good sense of humor. The class is tough, but there are a lot worse teachers for this stuff. He knows what he is talking about and wants you to understand it. just go to class and do the homework, if any, and you'll do fine.

Cashel-Cordo is an amazing! His class is tough but he doesn't just teach you the material he makes you actually understand it. He is really helpful if you need to see him outside of class. He also got us involved in the class which actually helped you to pay attention. I would def recommend him.

Took his macro econ online class and it was very easy. one assignment, one quiz, and sometimes a discussion board question per week. gives powerpoints that go right along with the assignment. 3 chances to take the quizes and best score is taken of the 3. never really got to know him personally, but the online class itself was simple enough.

For the college of business -more importantly the economics department- Dr. Cashel-Cordo is one of USI's prized professors. He is not easy, but the manner in which he expounds is rarely seen outside of America's elite universities. Being an ultra liberal and neokeynesian, i was often shocked to see him present the material with such objectivity.

Class was great, for an econ class. He expects people to speak up and answer the questions he askes. Tougher subject but he is extremely helpful.

Even though he is a blood-sucking liberal I still love the guy. Great teacher- really takes the time to make sure everyone is on the same page and is not opossed to taking time out of class to slowly go over more difficult concepts. I wish all of my teachers cared as much as he does.

Cashel-Cordo is a very good professor. He is very enthusiastic and keeps the class interesting. He is a little crazy and very liberal, but is a good professor where you will learn if you apply. Study, read, and study some more and you will be fine.

Cashel is an awesome professor! He is funny and makes class interesting. I took him for Econ265 and Econ209 in the same semester and I was fine. If you read the material and attend class & take notes you will do fine! Great professor!! Take if at all possible!

Cashel-Cardo is one of the Best! (Noted after earning two degrees and experiencing many different colleges.) Truly cares. Extraordinary communicator. I recommend you read ahead, master all class & H.W. problems/ graphs. You'll do great and have fun too.

Not a very easy class, but Cashel-Cordo really wants to see you succeed if you work hard. An online quiz every week and homework on blackboard most weeks but both help you grasp the material and prepare for exams. You have 3 chances to take every quiz with no time limit and the best score is recorded of the 3. Grading scale is based on the curve.

Cares alot about his students and there success in the class. Very easy to talk to and get help from overall. If you try in his course, he will recognize and appreciate that. Very sweet guy! Definitely take his course!!

One of my favorite professors at USI. I had him twice and enjoyed both classes. interesting stories. relates content. worldly and experienced. very fair grader and wants to help you succeed. highly recommend!

I took a couple of his classes. He is a great guy. However, you are expected to participate. He will call you out if you're not paying attention. Most people say he is mean and unhelpful, but he will help you as much as necessary outside of class. As long as you are willing to put in the effort, he will help as much as possible.

I took this as a five week summer online course. It was probably the most work I've put into any college class. He quickly replied to emails and was more than willing to meet with me to explain material. I would recommend if you're going to take his class, to take it during a 16 week semester. There was no cutting corners in this class.

Cordo is a wonderful teacher. He is very knowledgeable, does not require a textbook, and as long as you take notes you will be fine. Very enthusiastic about Economics, lovely sense of humor. Lots of class participation. I definitely recommend him.

Very good professor. Loves his job and explains well. Quizzes every Thursday, but they are easy. Tests are not hard. You can ask questions before and during test and he will answer. Overall, very pleased, except a 9 am class was hard to attend! PLUS- no textbook!

Econ is not an easy class but if you have to take it I would recommend taking it with him. There is a quiz every week online and you get 3 chances to take it and a set of homework questions almost every week and he gives you a lot of credit for trying to work out the problems. His tests were hard but he curved them. Overall a good professor.

I took this professor for ECON209 and liked him so much i took him again for 241. Usually always in a good mood, extremely smart, and a very interesting person in general. Takes the time to learn everyones name and really wants you to learn. as long as you try you will pass

He is impressed by voluntary class participation. He likes to see that you are trying whether you have the right answer or not. Reading the textbook is essential to passing the class.

This was a very interesting class as Cashel-Cordo is an intelligent professor, with a passion for economics. You will have to follow along and stay on top of things, but he is willing to help you out. Also, you do not have to buy a textbook. Learned a lot in this course

This course can be challenging for many people but he is super helpful and wants to help you understand the material. Grades will vary depending on how much effort you put in!

This class was quite interesting and not the normal class. I really enjoy him as a professor and is super helpful. I would take him again!

Cordo has to be the best Econ professor at USI. His class can be difficult but he overall is passionate and knows what he is teaching. Weekly quizzes but as long as you attend class and read the weekly readings you will pass them easy. Test can be alittle difficult, sadly that's what is the killer for my grade but he does give generous curves.

Although not mandatory, attendance is a must since there is no textbook and most of the test/quiz material comes from his lectures. I struggled in this class but Dr. Cordo met with me countless times outside of class to address any questions I had. You will have to do a good amount of reading and hard work if you really want an A.

He's tough but a great teacher

Great lectures and fairly easy class. Although, he did get kind of preachy at times and definitely gives political commentary. Not really a big fan of that in the classroom. Overall good teacher!

This class is much easier if you've taken micro or macro econ or are a business major. The teacher does his best to make class interesting and is pretty funny and be ready to be called on at any time because he does tend to pick on people. If you pay attention in class and take notes an A is attainable. There is also a decent amount of homework.

A great professor - really funny and nice. However, his tests are pretty difficult. He is always willing to meet outside of class to help you, though, which was very nice. Respects his students and all around great guy. Just a tough course.

Good teacher for economics but you have to pay attention to succeed

Dr. Cordo is passionate about what he does, he learns everyones name and is very reasonable. He is a very nice guy and always wants the best for his students. He puts all of the "textbook" material online so you absolutely DO NOT need a book for this course. He makes the material as easy as he can to learn is always accessible for help after class.

Professor Cordo is a great professor, who truly has a passion for his work. He provides a thorough syllabus with his expectations and schedule for when all work is due and when tests will be. He provides power points on BB and lectures in order of it. He provides study guides, but his test are still tough. Make sure to ask questions!

Be prepared to study and pay serious attention. Dr. Cordo has a way of speaking that really sticks with you. I learned a ton in this course, which made macro and micro A LOT easier. For me, this is course from which all others were judged. Do not be afraid show up during his office hours. The tests are no joke! Make sure you study, "bigly!"

Took this guy multiple times in different courses, and I enjoyed all of them. If you do not like economics you may not like how much he likes economics. Genuinely my favorite professor at USI. Super nice and understanding and a great professor.

Great professor. Best to be in class, lectures are super helpful. Nice guy, extremely accessible. Encourages questions. Grades pretty easy, but questions are tough. ASK QUESTIONS. Always willing to help. I am taking him again next semester. Didnt really use textbook though for ECON 308 intermediate microeconomics.

Dr. Cordo is a great! He lectures most of the time without a powerpoint which helped a lot more. He makes sure everyone is understanding the content and creates an enjoyable environment to learn in. Tests are all long answer but generally common sense as long as you have a general idea of economics or what he has taught. 10/10 recommend

This guy loves having answers shouted out, and I'm a rather quiet person. He gets under the impression that we don't want to participate. Other than that, he's really funny, explains the material well, and gives many easy opportunities for credit. Overall, great guy.

Cordo is a great ECON professor whose classroom environment is learning-centric rather than focusing on rushing through the material.

Good professor but kept on talking about a "steal trap" and I had no idea what he was talking about. And hates Elon Musk :(

Professor Cashel-Cordo was an amazing Economic professor to have. He explained things in ways that could be digested. Sometimes I needed a couple times to understand the topic at hand, but he seems to like questions rather than none. Our class was quiet most of the time and he made of fun of that so try and chip in and answer questions. Great Prof.

Professor Cashel-Cordo was part of an international study program in germany and held my favourite lectures to this day. The teaching styles in our two countries vary drastically, but he clearly has a passion for his studies and cares for his students. It breaks my heart that a lot of my peers failed to adjust to his style and blamed it on him.

Professor Cordo is an engaging lecturer who makes economics surprisingly interesting. Assignments prepare you well, but the exams are no joke - study hard using resources like Unstuck study. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding class with a fair and knowledgeable professor.
