Very understandable, helpful, and made the class unique in order for students to comprehend the concepts that dealt with global marketing.
Boring teacher, doesn't fully explain everything, and isnt very clear.

lectures were very boring.
He is very boring. I am one of the few students who attend class. Abour 1/3 of the class usually shows up. If you study the powerpoint slides and your notes, then you should be able to do alright. If you really want an A, then read the book too.
Pretty easy. Took him during a night class and would let us out with at 7:30 almost all the time. Read your slides and you should do fine.
he's a nice person outside class. but the class is real boring, and he can't explain everything fully. next thing u know things he won't go over appear as essay questions. recommend him??not really
An egomaniac. Poor teaching style. Does not care about the intellectual growh of students. Must agree w/ him to get an A. One of the worst profs in the school.
Nice, easy-going professor. Makes class interesting with lots of rambling antecdotes and stories (that don't necessarily have anything to do with the course topic). Rarely made us stay the entire 3 hours. Took another course with him later (MKT 555).
boring, but pretty easy.the multiple choice is easy(only mid and final), essay ques. are from the book- but c'mon, the book and its 16 chapters is 1000 pgs...too much info! you learn more from book than him!night classes are 1HR1/2.
He is a great teacher! Your grade is based on 2 tests and a summary of 2 readings. The test are 1/2 Multiple Choice and 1/2 Essay. His essay consist of about 5-6 questions which require only a basic knowledge of Marketing and 3-5 sentences to answer.
boringggggggggg, sucksssss, wouldn't recommend if u want to learn something from the class,
Excellent teacher. After reading comments, I was dreading the class but was very pleasantly surprised. He makes the subject come alive with relevant examples rather than just lecturing about concepts.
Easy guy. 5 assignments and 1 midterm, 1 final. He is a very knowledged prof. recommend! the night class is 1 1/2 hour.
great class, great guy. I learned a lot. Tests are essay. You have to go to lecture and read the book, but if you do that, tests are easy.
Good teacher, makes class interesting and let you out early evertime (night-class). His tests are okay, as long as you listen, and skim the text. Expect and A or B if you put any effort into his class.
The guy is good and teaches class the way many students like, you do have to learn a lot on your own because he only goes over the big topics in class, mid term and final only and show up when you want, this would be my professor in the perfect world.
Easy class and I learned alot! Midterm and Final questions come out of the book....make sure to read every page!
This is probably the easiest teacher at DePaul. I didn't even have the book and got an A. As long as you show up and listen once in a while, you shouldn't have any problems.

He doesn't care about wheather students' learn the material or not. He just wants to leave early. I didn't learn enything from him. If you want to learn, don't take him.
Does not cover all the material in class. Basically you are on your own. Expects us to read the every single page of the book. Mid term and final are from the book.
I shouldn't have believed all of positive rates about him. If you take him, you'd be in trouble. He doesn't cover much, but you have to read every single pages for your mid-term and final. And multiple choices are tricky. In short, stay away from him!!!
You basically teach yourself because he gives you 2 test one mid-term & final with 34 multiple choice questions worth 2points each and a 36 point worth essay. I got a C- on the Midterm and I think I did really horrible on the Final, but he ended up giving me C- as a Final Grade.
Very ignorant and narrow minded. He does not teach he gives you his opinions presented as facts. Grades very tough for what is supposed to be an easy class. Do not beleive all the positives this fool has !
Easy Class but Eassy porting carries a lot of numbers. Multiple Questions are stright from book but Eassy kills you.
You must work your @ss off in this class. I got a C- on the mid-term and a B for my final grade, whic is pretty good considering the only 2 grades for the class were mid-term/final. He definitely has favorites.
2 tests, each with 4 questions - all essay, based on handouts and chapters. He is very opinionated, and doesn't hide it. Write down what he talks about, since this is what he will test you on and read the handouts! You must be engaged in the class, if you don't, your grade will show it. Warning he's not specific with what's on test! Very vague!
I thought he was cool, but this guy grades you on two tests with a random essay ques. The class average was a C- for the midterm and he didn't curve. I got a B, but I think the class avg was a C- Don't be surprised.
This Professor is like others have said very opionated which is good because it takes disscussions to a higher level. He doesnt hold your opinion against you like other professors sometimes do. There are two tests 4 essay questions each straight from hmk articles and the notes. I would certainly suggest taking him if you can.
I appreciated the fact that the guy let me pass, but i learned very little in his class. Did not know what he was going to test us on. Read the chpts and he will ask you 4 essay questions on all the chapters. Don't know what to expect. did not like his class
This guy's a complete ass. His exams are ambiguous,he does nothing to prepare us for them and gets pissed if you disagree with him. I thought this was Marketing, not Politics... Dick !
He rarely covered any of the powerpoint slides and discussed about 20% of the text material that was required for the class. There was no guidance on the midterm/final. The final consisted of 3 essay questions, only 1 came from 13 chapters in the book. Glad I wasted all my time reading the book. Try earning your paycheck next time.
Rec'd 87 on 1st test, 90 on final, both counted for 80% of grade. Class participation was 20% of grade. Never missed class, VERY involved in every lecture, completed all papers with extensive detail, should have gotten an A for participation. Rec'd a final grade of B, complained, and he bumped it up to a B+, should have gotten a A- at the least. I disagreed with his opinions, thats why he low balled my grade.
Essays seem really hard but got a an 89 on first test. Not sure I am learning all that much, but class does not require that much work/time oustide of class. Classes are pretty entertaining, he cracks jokes and they typically dont run the whole time.
If you think your brave, still dont do it. He sums up what you have learned in a final and a midterm that contain three specific questions each. How can one prove what s/he learned in three questions? Lazy professor! I leanrned a lot, as I would have from any professor, however the only thing I
Both 11/12/07 and 11/9/07 are liars, he way more difficult than they portray him. %50 of class received D's on midterm, who knows what happened on final? This guy should be fired.
Ive been at DePaul awhile and this "guy" is the worst! I attended all lectures, participated in the lectures, and spent countless hours studying with another class mate. We both got C's, I am going to bite the bullet on this one but I do not recommend this guy, ever!
I would not recommend this professor. Midterm and Final are senseless, its like a roll of the dice, a complete chance you will know the answers no matter how hard you study.
Ok professor. Class will always end early. Midterm and Final can be tough b/c he only asks 3 or 4 essays.
Here is the scoop on this guy... Decent professor, knowledgeable and mildly entertaining. Do NOT miss class or show up late. Take notes on everything he says or writes on the board. Read and study the cases closely. His exams are on the lecture and cases only. If you know that material well, you will get an A, if not you are in trouble.
let me warn you. In my opinion, he is a raging psychopath. He is not above verbally harassing students and berating them. STAY AWAY!
Not happy with class or method
Lazy professor. Teaching method and grading are lousy. He is more interested in politics than teaching. Don't take him unless he is only option.
Basically if you do well on essay exams - take him. If not, don't. Participation is required but 1 or 2 comments a class get you a good mark. Many ppl do poorly because they are not prepared for essay exams. Friendly guy, you just have to play up to his teaching style & personality. Expect to work and learn, and not have your grade handed to you.
Class was easy. Just read his slides and make a couple side notes and you should be fine. EASY GRADER. He doesn't really teach much though. Class was let out early in the summer. Funny guy from Czech Republic. Take him to get an easy A or B. Don't take him if you want to be challenged.
He is a very knowledgeable professor and has a lot of significant experiences to share. His thoughts and opinions are interesting that makes a student listen to what he has to say. His exams are always in essay format but no worries, if you've been taking down notes, you'll get an A.
Teaching method is not in synch with DePaul phil. of embracing participation and helping understand the material. This prof has an ego problem and does not care what you learn all the while providing dificult exams and no homework or extra credit. Participation is limited to those with excessive experience similar to that of the prof's.
He's a nice European man. He explains concepts well and provides examples. Some of his examples are a bit outdated but still relevant. Prepare to read the chapter before class, take notes and study them for the exams. I wish we would've had more group work or group interactions.
Lazy professor. This was a subject I was excited to learn about, I was very dissapointed with this class. Our final was a paper on a subject that had absolutely nothing to do with marketing. He just wanted us to read some article he had published twenty years ago. Don't take this guy.
Everyone was SHOCKED: people freaked out after the first exam because the majority of the class got C's and D's. His essay q's were not something he discussed in class. Some q's on the exam were hard for him to comprehend when we were reviewing them. 3 q's out of 30 were given back to class because he thought they were not objective. HATED HIM
Make sure you recalculate your grade after the class ends - mine was miscalculated. Good thing I caught it, and make him change it
This is officially my worst class at DePaul. It was as boring as it was usless. Professor is quite useless too.
The class was not very valuable, but is easy and the professor is nice. Most nights we got out early
If youre going to spend this type of money on education you will not get your dollars worth. He is lazy and does not conduct a decent assesment of what one has learned
Completely agree with the comments regarding his stereotypes and ancient examples. However, I would recommend writing down the stereotypical and ancient examples because that's what he tests (all essay midterm and final) on eventhough the class notes (directly from the book) may say something completely different.
no interest to get content across, no preparation, just reads from slides which are copied from the book!dead boring
I personally felt that Dr. Chadraba was a great teacher. However, some students like him while others do not. Bottom line, to get an A in his class, attend every lecture and pay attention to his "real-life" examples because they will almost always be on the exam. Finally, ask questions in class because his answers outside of class are pretty vag
After reading all comments I hesitated to take his class but after I did, I think he is a great professor with good knowledge. I did learn a lot from him especially from his own experience. The companies' visit are all interesting and fun. You can pick your own paper topic to write about. It is an easy and enjoyable class I have ever take.
EXCELLENT TEACHER! Dr. Chadraba has real world knowledge, and I loved taking IB 750 with him. Assignments were reasonable, and he is a very fair grader. I totally recommend him!
HE'S A GOOD PROFESSOR. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS, TAKE GOOD NOTES. TEXTBOOK IS NOT NEEDED.
Foreign accent makes him a little difficult to understand, but overall he is very intelligent. He gives good real world examples and cracks a decent joke now and then. He tests straight from his lectures so go to class and you will do well. Book not really needed, but can be helpful for studying.
This professor is likeable, a bit hard to understand through thick accent. His examples are dated and only revolve around cars. Butif you pay attention, and act likeable, you can get through it. He tests on examples given in class. The paper was NOT on marketing which is hilarious because I thought this was a marketing class. The paper was difficu
Lectures were interesting and quick. We were never there longer than two hours. Grades are strictly based on test scores and "participation." I never spoke up, but I did well on the tests, showed up, and got an A. If you enjoy essay tests and pay attention, you will do well.
Class itself is interesting. Gives us life examples all day and we always gets out early. Your grade is only the midterm and final. Doesn't tell you anything about it and weighs the essays too much and grades very subjectively. I felt I aced the final & don't know why I got a C in the class. AVOID.
Grade was based off of two tests. 35% of each exam was written and graded subjectively. Class let out early every class, to then not go over material covered on exams. Power points were straight from the text we had just read. Examples made zero sense. This guys accent is the least of his problems as an educator. One of the worst at DePaul. Avoid!
Laziest professor at DePaul. Plays favorites (any student of eastern european descent), writes horrible exams. Don't test youself thinking your brave. I did that and it cost me. Studied countless hours, he doesnt say whats going to be covered on any exam. DePaul should fire him.
Class is 30% teaching & 70% stories filled with his personal opinions. That said, the class is bearable. If you've got to take him for MKT555 my advice is to take detailed notes on the few clear concepts he actually teaches each class. Copy his examples then use them on the take home final. Did this & got an A.
I got an A. I spent about 4 hours each week reading the chapters and taking thorough notes BEFORE class. I studied unbelievably hard and went to every class and wrote down every word he said. He does not care about his students nor does he make it easy. 2 exams (30% of grade) 1 final (35% of grade). multiple choice and essay. GOOD LUCK its not fun.
Does a great job of keeping the class interesting and applies real life examples to drive the point home. Great sense of humor and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best classes I have taken at DePaul. Exams and readings are easy. You are pretty much guaranteed an A.
Tests are hard. There's 3 of them so make sure you study. But he curved every test because it was unclear what to really study. But overall, he's funny, easy, gives real life examples. I would recommend him!
Horrible instructor avoid if you can. Don't chance it.
Among the worst at DePaul. Sad excuse of an educator.
He has an accent but you can understand him. His powerpoints came straight from the textbook & just spends class reading them BUT adds really good life examples. No need for the textbook in my opinion, its common sense. posts power points. gets distracted during lecture. Havn't actually learned anything, easy class though.
HIS LECTURE IS EXTREMELY BORING AND GRADE POORLY!!!!! DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS.
Dr. Chadraba was my study abroad professor and I absolutely LOVED him. While he can be very sarcastic, blunt, and unclear at times, if you are professional and willing to work hard, he is very helpful and easy going. Great stories and good sense of humor. The accent makes it better! Would recommend.
Full of good real life examples. Keeps you interested with his humor and examples. Read the assignments and study your notes and you shouldn't have a problem getting an A on his tests.
This is the only class i have never dreaded coming to. We were never there longer than an hour and 45 minutes but still got through the material. He didn't waste time with busy work and gave great examples in lectures that helped you remember the concepts. I wish he taught more classes I needed.
This is Worst Professor Ever I have ever had. Irresponsible Professor! The class grade is Attendance, Midterm and Final. He does not give up clear concept on the lectures, nor guideline for you to study. After midterm he left the country for three weeks. . This is the class that you paid money to study your butt off by your own.
AVOID based everything on the midterm and final 50% each. completely unhelpful, offered no curve, and when i got a low grade on the midterm he literally told me "everyone else had no trouble, and if you want a good grade you should drop the class" that was literally what he said when i asked him what i did wrong. Also canceled class for 3 weeks wtf
He was awesome with me. I did not do too well on his midterm but i did better on the final. He gave me a decent grade. Just show up to class and participate and he will like you! I thought his stories were interesting.
Professor Chadraba doesn't know how to teach, he needs to go to teaching school or needs to get an idea of how to teach. He is awful at making tests (questions have nothing to do with anything he taught), making lectures (not on test), and making use of his 3 hour class (only 1 hour for him). I'd rather eat poo than have him again.
He is honestly not as bad as people are saying he is. He's from the Czech Republic and has a lot of knowledge about other countries. The only grades in this class are the midterm and final, so you MUST go to class because he bases his essays off his lectures. You should also get the book since the multiple choice is based off the chapters its over
Useless professor who drones on case studies that are well established in the field of marketing. When he gets called out for lying to the whole class, he tells the students to shut up and picks favorites. Lectures are long and the whole class is just one midterm and final with no way of knowing what he will test.
Straight forward class. He tells you exactly what he wants. READ THE BOOK!!!!!
The class consisted of a midterm, final and two writing assignments. The writing assignments were an easy A as long as you do them. However, the exams were difficult. The tests were multiple choice with 3 essay questions. He heavily grades the essay portion. You really need to read the book and pay close attention to his lectures in order to pass.
Traveled to CZ and DE with Prof. Chadraba. He can be intimidating and he doesn't tolerate foolishness, so everyone was afraid of him, but once you get past that he's hilarious and full of really interesting stories. The class itself was easy: show up to three lectures and take good notes on the places you visit. You get a year to turn in your work.
Confused as to why DePaul would hire him. He reads off of powerpoint slides that he did not even make. Grades are based on two easy papers and a Midterm and Final with multiple choice and essays (which are difficult). There was no study guide so you do not know what the tests consist of. For the essays he chooses random things he said in class.
Great lecturer. I took the class during winter intersession. It was a tough 2 weeks and he helped us get through it. He did not stay until 9 pm - cudos to him! There were 2 exams, multiple choice and essay questions. Pay attention whatever he puts on the board!!!
Prof Chadraba told interesting stories, but his tests were next to impossible. Midterm weighed at 40%, final at 50%. Gives you absolutely no direction for either test. Essay questions on the test are very specific, no bullshi**ing. He tells you the test comes from the 10 chapters you covered in class.
Prof. Chadraba spelled his first name wrong on his syllabus and it reflects the organization in his lectures. The midterm is 40%, the final is 50%, and 10% participation of your final grade. He goes on tangent in class and loses everyone's attention 2 minutes into his tangent stories. Buy the book because you'll need it. Best of luck
Avoid this professor as much as possible. Buy the book because you'll end up teaching yourself all the chapters. Tests are wild cards and he does not tell you whats on it. His lectures are just him telling stories that have no relation to the topic.
Fun teacher, he has a classic sense of humor. Write down everything he rights on the board. I got a B and I did the usual study the night before midterms and finals. Pretty easy imo
Mkt 310 is pretty straightforward in general but with Chadraba-- you had to use outside resources to understand and know what you're learning. His lectures are of him asking where you're from, Czech Republic, or commenting on things that make the class feel uncomfortable. Just avoid him.
I get why some people wrote such negative things, because we live in a day and age where everyone gets offended by everything. However, Prof. Chadraba just says it how it is, and people are "uncomfortable" with it. One writing assignment, easy A. Midterm & final, WRITE DOWN what he writes on the board, those are his essay questions on the tests.
This class was very stressful. If you're great at self-study then go for it but otherwise you will be very lost in class. The real-life examples he gives in class doesn't make sense and are very confusing. There's no guideline to what's going to be on the test which leaves you to guess. Doesn't curve grades.
Professor Chadraba has an old-school style and brings in a lot of his personal experience (and opinion) into his lectures. This class is not difficult to get an A in. Show up and take notes on everything he says and study those notes.
I dont know why the department hire him as a professor. I had classmates teaching better than him.
It is simple: show up, pay attention, take good notes, get a good grade. It is the quintessential " You get out of it what you put into it" class. If you do not want to put in the work, you will not do very well. I found the midterm, papers, and final exam to be straightforward. I found him to be very knowledgeable about the field of marketing.
Shame on everyone rating him as a bad teacher. He is great! tells you exactly how to study for the exams. STUDY the vocab from each chapter and write &study everything that he writes on the board (essay questions on exam) you will do just fine. Attendence is not mandatory but youll need those FEW notes that he writes on the board.
He is an AMAZING PROFESSOR. HILARIOUS TOO.
He's the best. You'll have a good time.
I don't get why his average is so low? He's amazing. Take him!!!!
Good luck. Most horrific professor I ever had at DePaul. If you don't read the entire book and pay attention to every little detail, you will not pass. The only grades are the midterm and the final. I don't understand why a class that should be so easy is made so difficult.
Don't bother with what's in the textbook, if he doesn't cover it in his lecture you'll never see it again. The grading of his midterm is an enigma wrapped in a riddle, my only suggestion is study lists and memorize terms - descriptions & definitions won't matter. Very combative with students during lecture. Will never admit to being wrong.
Do not take this teacher. He has a midterm and a final for grades and that is it. He does not say what is on the test whatsoever, even when students ask, all he says is "read the book." This class does not need to be as hard as he makes it.
He is a really good and cool guy. Uses stories that relate to the context. He is very nice and funny but will admit that this class is hard. Midterm and final are only grade and both are hard. Need to read book.
He's not terrible. This class only has two grades, the midterm and the final. You have to read the book to even do decently well in the class. Definitely a very difficult class.
Not as difficult as other reviews would have you believe. Just make flash cards with the vocab from the book and study them little by little throughout the quarter. Dont wait last minute. Didnt even have to actually read the chapters. Got an A by doing this. I will admit that hes pretty monotone and just reads off slides he didnt make though.
Not a fan. The weekly homework assignments were a page-long summary of each chapter, complete busywork, and a time-eater. Tests are multiple choice from the book and short answer questions from segments of his incredibly dry lectures. Short answers are tricky, hard to find the 2 min segment of his 45-min lecture videos that discusses the topic
The only assignments are one-page chapter summaries, midterm, and final. The chapter summaries are easy but the midterm and final... Tests are MC and 2 essays. MC is based on the book. The essays are only on his lecture. You won't be able to find the info in the book and its hard to find the information he's talking about in his slides/videos
The class is easy because there's one-page chapter summaries and weekly recorded lectures. You have to take good notes. The bad thing I don't like about this class is there are very few things in the grade book. Midterm and final can ruin your grade if you miss the 2 short answer responses. The answers are in his lectures and he's very picky
there are weekly summaries of the chapters due every sunday. You will need the textbook!! there are two exams which make up a good chunk of your final grade. Most of the exams are multiple choice but the essay questions are very important. He is very vague and doesn't give feedback. As long as you pay attention to his lectures you should be fine.
Your entire grade is determined by 4 short answer questions on the midterm/final. There's no rubric for them, so your grade is entirely up to the professor's say so. When I asked to put a rubric on the final, he said "some people did well so I don't see the need for a rubric". Overall incredibly rude and unhelpful.
he makes it harder than it needs to be. grade is basically determined by the midterm and final.
Lectures are boring and outdated, but necessary to pass. Seriously watch them all and take notes. Midterm is 35% of your grade and the final is 45% of your grade. Each test is only 4 questions. It is open book/note, but you're only given an hour, which goes by fast when you're trying to find the specific thing he's asking for.
Had very slow paced and boring lectures with little to no relevance to real world used. only graded things on midterm and final. horrible at responding to emails and definitely holds grudges if you messed up the first few assignments. the class could have been amazing but he doesn't care about his student one bit and is extremely dated.
I was very excited to take this class because it was one of details best classes however Professor Chadraba made it a horrible experience. I hate when professor don't care about their students and only are there to make money. his lectures are so boring OMG never take him. DePaul you guys are better than this.
The only homework is 1-page summaries for each chapter. The midterm and final were fine, but your grade really depends on the written sections, where he's very specific. There is no extra credit. Info wasn't always in lectures or the textbook, so practice with quizlets or take extra notes. Ace the midterm and final to get a good grade!
I can see why he has bad reviews. Exams can reck you. MUST pay attention to his lectures to answer the essay questions on exams (worth 2/3 of the exam grade). Weekly chapter summaries (1 page double-spaced, easy points). Exams are worth the majority of the grade but they are open note. I liked him, but I also went to class and paid attention.
I dont understand why he as a bad score. He sets his rubric from the start of class. For hw: weekly 1 page summary on 1-3 chapters (depends) double spaced. Yes, the exam is essay question heavy, which he is picky on, but is it open book. And if you attend the lectures, the essay questions are made clear. Plus, he always ends class really early.
When you see a professor as bad as Chadabara on rate my professor it should be your sign to not take this class THE OTHERS ARE NOT LYING. He is the absolute worst professor I have ever had at DePaul it is a shame he is still considered staff. No accommodations, only boring lectures, every assignment is detrimental. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS :).
As long as you attend class, you will get an A. Just go to class and do not be lazy, and you will get an A. He reviews what will be on the exam. Yes, your grade is exam-heavy, just focus in class. And he always ends class early. Only homework is a 1 page summary from each chaper.
Professor Chadraba's lectures can be tedious, but the course structure is straightforward - weekly chapter summaries, a midterm, and a final. Lean on the textbook and use tools like Unstuckstudy to prep for the tricky short answer questions. Overall, manageable if you stay engaged.
