The teacher to take! I took him in my 1st semester in college, was a great start. He is fair, very interesting to sit through for a 3 hour class.

He covers the material, and does not expect more (from the students) then he put in. His tests are on the covered material. I always enjoyed his class. "The Costa Theory" is usually very funny, he is a fair grader too!

An interesting and fair professor who knows his stuff from both experience and knowledge. He is quite the "character," and I think he fits in great on Staten Island. He is very, very funny.

I had no idea what was going on and failed the midterm, but he gave me an A anyway. Lot's of little stuff to do to get your grade up. Don't buy the book, it's completely useless!!!

Dr. Costa is interesting, funny, interesting, and very entertaining. His Psychology 100 course is fast-paced, exciting, and very interesting. He is knowledgeable and is definately NOT your typical professor. He is very hyper, funny, and quite the charmer. A must see lecturer for any Psychology Major! I will be taking all his other Psy courses.

Excellent professor. He knows the material, is dedicated, funny, and doesn't make you stay to the end of class. The best is the "Costa Theory". He is so funny ans hyper, you can't help but love the guy. CSI should have more professors like him.... Class material is on point, the tests are fair, and class is fun... What a deal! Prof Costa is a diamond in the rough. At first i didn't know what to think, but after a few classes, i think he is wonderful. he is helpful and cares. Sure his personality is larger then life, but it's all fun.

I had Dr. Costa for forensic psy. I got an A in his class. He is awesome! One of the best professors I've had. He has a sarcastic personality but he's very humorous. He'll help in any way he can. The class was really interesting. Attendance and lateness are important.

Great teacher. He is thorough and a fun presence in the room. He provides several handouts before each chapter, and a bulk of this material is what is covered on the exams. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Prof. Costa is amazing! He is intelligent, competent, clear, and keeps the momentum going in class. He is highly knowledgeable about the subject material. All these comments about how he is a terrible professor and is unfair, truly annoy me! The people who are complaining most had him for psy 100, please grow up and learn to work hard!

(PSY 242) He is a great instructor, very knowledgable and with the right attitude. He is one of my favorite instructors. He knows that he is teaching to college students not HS...Overall GREAT!

THAT'S HOW GREAT HE IS. I PASSED ALL MY EXAMS IN A BREEZE. THEY WERE HARD!! BUT I UNDERSTOOD. BEST CLASS EVER!! YOU WONT REGRET IT OR HIS STERN WAYS. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

He is the best psychology teacher in the department hands down. He gives handouts, shows movies, explains everything, uses powerpoint. He's a hard grader when it comes to tests through. If you don't mind doing work like a college student should you'll have no problem. The PSY 100 people complaining about him....welcome to college people good luck.

good professor, gives hands out.. few papers .. nothing crazy. Makes you finish his sentences which is annoying. dont be late! he will pass remarks. Test are hard, buthe gives you what you need to study.

Great Professor! Funny as hell, an he keeps the class interesting. He knows subject matter well but u have to read the chapters for his exams. Theirs no quizzes but there's extra credit. Be On Time for class at all times he gets annoyed at that easily! Love his class. I am taking him again for personality theory.

He's now my favorite psychology professor of all time. He talks to everyone and doesnt favor any student. Prof Costa can also teach and his lectures are very interesting.Overall, hes the best. Had him for summer class. Prof Costa for president 2012 > : D

This prof. was the best. Hands down is the second best psychology prof. I've had throughout CSI. He only gave us two exams and a couple of easy papers to do and a small project which was also very easy. I really recommend him for any psych class. He makes it interesting and you will not fall asleep in his class at all.

I dont know why hes liked. Hes always picking on me. Hes a good guy but hes class exams arent straight forward and VERY confusing. I wouldnt recommend.

He's great because he can always assess who's a good student and who's not. He is very considerate. He will give you the grade you deserve. He is very repetitive, and if you read the textbook while focusing on what he points out, you'll do fine.

It was a great experience. The class was very interesting and was glad it wasn't your ordinary boring lecture. Prof Costa is very funny, interesting and understands that you should focus on having students understand the base of things instead of going into too much irrelevant detail. Class was easy going and not demanding at all. Learned a lot.

Not many people come out of his class with an A, but everyone who does what he asks passes. Ample opportunities to raise your grade. He's funny and a genuinely nice person. Some people may be offended by his humor and style of relating to students. His tests are hard; he only gives 2.

Professor Costa is amazing. So far I've taken 3 classes with him. I am usually an A student but he is a bit tough on tests and I would usually walk away with a B, but I don't even mind it because his classes are so intresting, his sense of humor is great and he knows who puts in effort and who doesent. Truly an amazing Professor, one of the best I have ever taken at CSI. I feel like I have learned more from him in one course than throughout most of my psychology career at CSI. Not an easy grader, makes you work for it but well worth it. This isn't a class you can mess around in, but you will take so much from. I am definitely taking him again!

Professor Costa is one of the most respectable professors at CSI. He tells you EXACTLY what he expects from you from the first day and says "if you don't get checked, imma put you on blast." Trust me, he will. He is very old fashioned, but the things he says during lectures are hilarious. You MUST read the textbook for tests.

Professor Costa is my favorite professor I have ever had. He is very helpful. In the middle of a semester I was in the hospital and wasn't able to attend school for a month, so I was going to withdraw, but he told me he not to and that he would help me out as much as he could. And he did! I'm really glad I didn't withdraw. He's the best!

Loved this class, great professor. Must also read text to get more information for exams. Go to class pay attention , participate, complete assignments ( 2 exams, 2 easy papers) easy pass.

Professor Costa was one of the best professors I've had. His class was fair, projects were simple, exams were relatively difficult, reading the textbook is HIGHLY recommended BUT he gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit which REALLY boost your grade. Besides that, Professor Costa is a kindhearted man and will help you if you approach him.

Had this professor for PSY100 and currently PSY226. Definitely, has the best lectures! For the tests keep up to date with the textbooks and participate in class. Participation counts! During lectures, uses experience and movies to give examples of the topic.

I thought this was a good class. It was just the final that killed my grade. The projects were easy just make sure to have the textbook for the information. You need to study for the test because theyre tricky. I would have had a A if it wasnt for the final, but i should have done the exra credit, so do that.

Dr. Costa knows his stuff, applies the curriculum to real life, makes himself available to his students outside class time. Very fair, and very funny!! If you HAVE to be late or absent do your best to notify him prior via email. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CELL PHONES OUT DURING CLASS!!!

My favorite professor at CSI. Always on time Information that you learn will help you in life. I'm taking him on Saturday 9 am and it's my favorite class so far Try to go to his office hours and do extra credit assignments He gives 2 exams 35 points each plus lifespan chart and interview 15 credits each.

Dr. Costa is a great professor! He uses life lessons and really knows his stuff. Hes funny and makes the class go by fast. Just show him respect, be on time and dont use your phone and you will have a good time. I recommend him.

very knowledgeable since hes been a psychologist for over 50 years. i suggest to not get on his bad side cus he'll make jokes & single you out. he's said some problematic things which i didnt like but if i were to speak up i was afraid it would affect my grade:/ its an easy class, no heavy work, just listen and dont use ur phone. he was funny tho

I found him particularly amusing and funny so it was easy to pay attention since the material could be a little boring at times. Read the textbook, take notes, and attend class and you'll do great.
