quite easy but dont' know why he is laughing all the time and his jokes are stup
well..muffled voice..don't understand what he is talking, but gentle with marks.
easy marking , helpful but muffled talking
Peter is a very nice instructor. The good thing is that he is always laughing. Peter understands students' problems, and gives extra days for completing the assignment whenever he feels it is too long. Very friendly. Having him was great fun.
he always gives long and hard final exam , but easy assignment and tests.
He is very nice guy, very friendly. I took two courses from him, and I am very happy with my grades. Take the course, and u will see.
nice person, but bad teacher. have to study by yourself. exams are easy and cheat-sheets allowed!
a nice guy,easy going,always easy exams
Did not like hime at all.... Withdrew from the course because he was so unclear with the examples taught in class .... Parsi other hand much better teacher
nice guys, gentle with marks, but always laugh by himself with no student understand wut he said
Peter is a very nice guy and he is very helpful and approachable.Don't be afraid to ask him question coz he is very patient too.I took 2 courses with him and it is very comfortable to study in his class. So far,he is my favorite teacher in Langara!
He's a great teacher!! In his class, he's trying to give you some taste of maths instead of freaking you out by the complicated formula.
Awesome teacher - lets us have cheat sheets for the midterms and final, set up a study class during finals week so we could review, and he's always approachable. Really nice and funny guy!
he is nice, willing to help, gives weekly assignments which are very helpful in helping students understand the material...his voice is kinda funny n not so clear, but he explains clearly. his questions can be very tricky sometimes...
He has a lot of questions on his weekly assignment. If you do all his assignments, you will be ok. He looks stupid, but he is very smart! He is friendly and willing to help
OMG...I HATE ALL OF YOU PPL WITH YOUR USELESS COMMENTS...I took his class because ppl said good comments about him.I have a GPA of 3.7 with all science course and I'm barely getting a C!DONT take him.YOU WILL REGRET IT! Tests or SO DAMN HARD!!!
His exams are brutal and his lectures are rather slow, and sometimes, it's difficult to understand what he says. It's better to just read the text yourself, but his exams are PLAIN HARD!
too many questions in each assignment, hard exams, boring classes...
Good teacher, patient and helpful! lots of assignments, but if you have time to finish them, you will learn a lot and get good marks!
DONT TAKE HIM...I PROMISE U THAT YOU'LL REGRET THE DAY YOU SIGNED IN FOR THIS COURSE!!!
peter is not that bad. as long as you go through his notes, and review the questions he assigned.you'll be fine!! he is really approachable.
OOOOOH BOOOOOOY!
The course is not extremely difficult. However, he has extremely long exams! If you take his class, write fast during exams because you'll not have time to think! I believe I have the capability of scoring 5-10% higher if his exams were a bit shorter.
two words: NOT GOOD. he is a very nice guy buut lacks in teaChing.
terrible, avoid him
although he's nice.......................his lectures are rather slow, & he gives terribly long and difficult exams...........do try your best to understand the material on your own~ good luck, all!
he is very good teacher,, his notes helps a lot. good quizes and miterms. if U solve the book examples u will be OK. he help a lot also so I recommend him for any math LINEAR and DIFFRENTAL

well...i got A in midterms, but got B+ finally. maybe cuz i skip too much homeworks..it counts 10 marks.:( anyway, he is a good instructor, but hard final exam. i still recommend, nice one!
An okay teacher, approachable, dedicated, nice guy. Frequently failed to explain a concept after we didn't get it on his first attempt. His exams were deliberately too long in order to be self-scaling. This could be appropriate if you know what to expect, but poses a nasty handicap for students with any degree of math anxiety.
very friendly, nice person yet sadly terrible teacher. hard to understand what he says and the way he approaches concepts are kind of confusing, unclear. : (
the guy who said he had a gpa of 3.6 or something,,and did do well in calc I? what can i say.... i wonder what u can get in calc III or IV
he is very unclear,he cannot teach well.shame!!
Peter is ok... He has VERY long assignments (about 20 numbers)! His quizzes are based from the assignments so study from that. It is sometimes hard to understand what he is saying as he has this "muffled" voice. He tends to laugh by himself sometimes even if people didnt understand why. Once, he spelled hawaii as "hawi". Not good but will do.
What a horrible teacher... I couldn't understand what he's teaching, so unclear with the examples. I dropped the course...
I am absolutely in a terrible mess of Linear Algebra right now, really thanks to Peter, I love you!!!!!
Peter is not a very smart teacher, I believe a smart and fit teacher must make complicated materials easy to understand not make them even look harder by adding unnecessary details. His midterm especially, the second midterm was not any thing like the book or his notes;every thing was new to us.not a good teacher at all.
students, who took this course before, are benefiting just because they learned the materials before. He enjoys giving low marks and if he makes a mistake usually does not accept it.His questions for lab are unclear or his answer keys are not really answering the questions,so he will deduct marks.Overall,he is not good.We are going to complain.
he is sick and tired when students have questions, in quiz time, he will be happy and quite healthy!!!!
Confusing teacher. Makes mistakes frequently. Taught course poorly - spend too long on first half of the course so the second half was confusing and rushed.

he is not smart, very old for teaching this course, the final was hard, shame on him!!!
Peter is awesome! He will drop everything to help you... anytime. Always humble and helpful... knows his stuff very well... some find his voice a bit muffled, so sit up front then (I was fine at very back)
Had him for integral calculus back in Spring 2002. Don't know if he's changed much since then, but his notes were reasonably clear and concise, but he has a monotone voice due to a hearing impairment. He's pretty good at getting across how to do integral calculus, I found, compared to most SFU professors.
Peter knows his mathematics and attempts to simplify it as much as you can for non-math types like me. I was even shocked to get the highest class mark on my first midterm. He'll select some of the harder homework questions but that's to your benefit. I'll be signing up for Linear Algebra with Peter, even though there's a lot of work.
his notes are absolutely clear there is a test every week but they are super easy.assignments are very long but he marks them fairly.midterms are kind of difficult but still he marks them fairly.he is always available to help you.
The best teacher i have ever had. So fair and so helpful.
Peter is okay. Not too bad and not too good. Initially I also had aproblem with is muffled voice but it was not way too disturbing. His midterms and finals are not too hard . U can do well if u study his class notes . Quizzes are really easy and Getting a (B) is not difficult at all in his class. But if u wanna get an A then need to study a bit har
boring!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is alright...
very helpful teacher
baddddd
Peter is a good teacher relative to other teachers when it comes to explaining and teaching things. He likes it when students go to his office. On the contrary, his exams are difficult and often don't relate to what was taught during the class. If you have a hard-time self-learning math, this most likely isn't a good teacher for you. Get a tutor!
peter is a nice guy. he is willing to help if you put the effort in. exams were fair and he is a fair marker. overall good teacher and would take a class with him again
Peter is one of my favored professors at Langara.
long assignments, extremely generous marker, uses 100% of assignment Q's on tests, lectures not that great so be prepared to use his office hours; he has TONS, friendly, funny, great teacher
Most helpful guy in the world if you actually GO to his office hours. Did a fairly good job at explaining concepts. Homework and exams are long and fairly challenging though
Peter cares a lot about his students. You don't have to like math to like his class. He is complete genuine and hilarious at times. Hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. If you're lazy, you will fail his class.
you don't have to like math to like peter. he's a completely genuine and hilarious man who cares a lot about his students. from having 10 hrs of office hrs a week, sending encouraging emails, and setting up extra review sessions outside of class time. If you're a lazy person, don't take him because Peter deserves better students.
Nice guy. Teaching isn't that clear. Hard midterms and homework assignments. Have to try quite hard to do okay.
Very helpful!!! He is very generous in marks as well. He takes care of his students.
I find his muffling voice kinda hard to follow. I wasn't very satisfied about my first midterm because I couldn't stay awake in class. Most people dropped right after this. For the 2nd midterm, I decided to self study and did much better. He can be lazy on balancing out marks on tests. Ex. Questions are out of 6 no matter how easy and hard they are
Peter is an okay math teacher, he tries to make sure you understand concepts. Midterm questions are pretty fair in terms of difficulty, as are the weekly quizzes, but the homework assignments are a different story. For some reason his notes only help you complete (on average) about 25-50% of the homework questions, leaving you stuck with the rest.
He needs more sleep that's all I can say. His teaching is not clear, and I had to get a tutor for this course. Exams are hard
Peter isn't a hard teacher but the course is! He is passionate about what he teaches and he cares about his students. He tells you what will be on the midterms and final. Lots of long assignments but if you do them all you'll have no trouble doing well. He can be hard to follow at times but if you go over in class notes it'll be clear.
assignments are nearly impossible to do. Quizzes can range from fair to ridiculously difficult. If you arrive to an answer like tan(4)/8 on a quiz, don't erase it, he tends to ask weird questions. Midterms are always based on hw and is fair. The Final is another story...when he says his exams are "medium", don't take his word for it....trust me
Voice hard to follow. Seems to not have enough sleep 100% of the time, midterms/assignment very challenging. Must do extra reading/work by yourself and if you dont understand something go to his office hrs.
I had a hard time understanding him in the corse and had to study the corse material on my own. Don't take him
Very nice guy, but his teaching is very unclear. I don't understand half the things he teaches even though I have already took this course prior.
Have to do a lot of self study because I didn't understand half the things that he was teaching. The homework he assigns look nothing like the ones the class examples.
Peter gives us a lot works to do. That is what we need to do if we wanna be successful in Math. Don't like some instructors just explain the example of textbook. That is unuseful. Doing practise is the best to learn things and figure out whether you understand what you learned.
Really great guy. Very friendly, and more than open to helping you when you need it. Before you get to know him, he seems weird, but once you get past that, very helpful. Never gets enough sleep, always very tired. Exams are quite difficult, but I stress that he is extremely helpful, and lectures quite well.
He's a nice person but cannot teach well at all, very unclear in teaching everything, and his notes only cover 25% of the homework assignments, and his exams are difficult. He skips steps all the time, and she skips so many steps and just writes the solution on the board. You will be left extremely confused. Sometimes he is not clear at helping.
HE GAVE WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT, WHICH I FOUND QUITE TIME-CONSUMING. BUT THOSE ASSIGNMENTS ARE GOOD FOR THE FINAL REVIEW THO.
He is a very nice and helpful instructor. He sometimes tells his students what kind of questions he is gonna put in exams. Also, most exam questions are quite similar to assignment questions. It was a breeze for me to get full marks on his midterm. However, the final is a bit harder than midterms because it covers lots of materials.
Great guy, extremely helpful. If the lecturing or homework is unclear, use the office hours and he will make you understand. This is the first math class I ever got above a B+.
Take him best prof ever. always making everything clear, test are fair, do the assignments and study for quizzes and you will get a A
Friendly guy! Funny and very helpful. But please be warned. If you are coming from 1150 get ready to be bombarded with new material. It's such a big jump. This may have been the downfall and not Peter. Go to the math center everyday and DON'T fall behind
