If you can get this course with Peter Dawson, DO IT! For every major test, he gives you the exact questions that are on the test, weeks in advance! AMAZING! I got 100% on my midterm and he is giving us the this questions this week for the final! He is good at getting the msg across in his lectures.

This Professor is great. He takes great care in making sure his students understand the material. If you are willing to learn and to make an effort you should have no problem doing well in his class!

One of the best T.A's I had in first year. Peter is a very fair marker and he takes it into consideration that your last paper should be that much better than the first one you wrote in the year. Cares equally about structure and content of papers.

great TA. explains his ideas clearly and is open to discussion. hes a decent marker and gives good feedback. takes into consideration improvements from previous essays, and is willing to discuss marks if ure not happy with them.

ok to get this clear... peter dawson is from osgoode he is an AACTUALLLL PROF. extremely smart, shouldve taught 1010 himself. Has helped me and encouraged me to better myself every time i see him although i took this course a year ago!

Amazing prof! He is super sweet, very helpful and seems to really take an interest in making sure students learn. At first I thought he was too good to be true, thinking he was insincere but by the end of class he proved this to be wrong.

He is awesome, i learned so much from him and he is very clear with each topic. His essays are very educational and i learned alot by writting them. P.s. He is a cutie =)

Great prof! Goes to great lengths to help out his students when they need it. You can tell he really cares, and he's just a very genuinely nice person. The best is when he constantly fights for women’s rights/minorities, when he’s a white male lol. But he’s great. Very reasonable, entertaining, and really just wants his students to do well.

AMAZING PROFF if you fail in his class or get a horrible mark that means there is osmething seriously wrong with you!! This man will help u to great extants and is a very easy marker you cant go wrong in his class... attend be there and ansewr some questions its usually all common sense..

Professor Dawson is amazing. He challenges students to think critically. His method of teaching the class is great. The combination of using both feelings and thoughts is great. He is very helpful. He puts his best effort forward in trying to help the students help themselves. His classes are very interesting. He is one of the best profs at York.

Very nice Prof, makes you communicate a lot in class and there is a lot of videos and guest speakers. He likes to incorporate a lot into the course. The only thing is, there is a lot that I don't necessarily agree with that he teaches. On the whole, he is a good Prof and easy. Definitely a humanitarian.

Amazing prof!!!! You will never regret taking one of his classes. I highly recommend any of his classes. Easy marker and very helpful. He's always there for his students!!!

His over reliance on group work is quite irritating but if you're lucky enough to not get stuck with a bunch of idiots, his expectations are manageable. Many seemed to have a problem with his South African accent, but I did not find it too "thick." He seems to want the best for his students.

Good Prof

easiness is ridiculous. THeres no reason to read a book (except for the chapter you are presenting) and if you dun mind collaborating with ppl and end up with good members this class is a breeze. Has a kind heart especially in reaching out to help those in need. not the best at teaching but easy grade

Everyone who has said something poor about Dawson clearly rather be listening to a teacher who reads off their power points & has no desire to know your name. He is the first professor ive had who actually teaches & speaks directly with students rather than at them.I did learn alot through his videos. Ill never drink star bucks again.

Best Professor I've known as of yet. If you care about human rights than you will love him and he will change your life, guranteed. Had 4 courses with him, learned more from him than any other professor and changed my life. Uses lots of documentaries and guests speakers. 2 tests/ sometimes 1 essay & one group project, easy marker,negotiable.LoveHim

Hands down the most amazing proffessor I have ever had. I have never met someone as passionate and caring as Peter. He's very approachable and cares for all his students. Taking future courses he is teaching.

Overall, not a bad class teaching and material wise. However he gets overly preachy, and forces students to attend symposiums with the threat of failing you, and then forces you to do charity work to earn marks. Im pretty sure all of this is against school policy, even though he is constantly complaining about policies not being enforced

Best Professor I have ever had. Amazing man!

He is engaging, passionate, funny, approachable & human. Course looks at rights through human stories. It's also very involved, weekly reading summary to be submitted, and partnership with a charity organization. Exams are not based on memorizing - we get a one page "cheat sheet" to write the essay with. Also tutorial leader Warren is great!

BEST prof there is! Wasn't boring. Very lenient! Hard copy summary of weekly readings needed to be handed in during class. Two tests, one group assignment! He'll take time to answer your questions. Shares personal things with the class! Funny and always has a smile on his face! Overall, he made it a great year for me!

This post is long overdue. I took a summer course with Prof. Dawson and had one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. He took the time to meet me after class, helped me get involved with the class and guide me in the right direction to max out my learning capabilities. We organized food banks and united communities in the York area. A+!!

People who are writing poorly about Dawson are people who only think book learning is important in life. Dawson teaches the importance of thinking with your emotions.He teaches a skill that no other Prof will ever show you. Those of you who say negative things don't know the importance of life and what it means to think of others before yourself.

Dawson is a great Prof and he opened my eyes to a great many things. He is not your everyday traditional prof and his teaching styles are a bit different then the average but I found them to be greatly effective. If you are someone who works better on things they are passionate about then this class and prof is for you.

The best in life class i've ever taken. He's a very insipring professor. We not only learn about current issues that needs to fix, but we get to act on it. If you're an active student you will succeed :)

Great and lovely teacher. Really cares about his students and is extremely passionate about the course he teaches. He may seem a bit rude at times, but ultimately he's just trying to push to students to their limits so that they are successful later on in the course.

Hands down the best prof at York! Changed my life. Very helpful and compassionate. He deeply cares about the issues he teaches. If you take a class with him, he will change your life. Lectures are fun and intriguing. Lots of group discussion. Will definitely take future classes with him.

I've had Peter twice throughout my undergrad and what can I say other than.. take a course with him! You won't regret it!

GREAT COURSE. Hands on and gives to chance to actually make a difference. The main part of this course is one big group project (undertaken throughout the course) where you tackle and address an issue so it's a great course if you're bubbly....I think there were like two tests and he allows cheat sheets which are nice.

Peter Dawson is one of the best professors that you will ever have. Besides being knowledgeable, he is a great person. His lectures are engaging, and they allow you to interact with your classmates. I would definitely recommend taking at least one class with this professor.

I would like to thank professor Peter Dawson for teaching Restorative Justice course at Humber College to the 4th year Criminal Justice graduates! Initially we were expecting a different prof, but then Peter Dawson became the substitute. From that moment on, I loved everything about this class. Thank you for opening my eyes professor! I cant say enough about Mr. Dawson. He was the best part of my undergrad experience and I wish I couldve learned more from him. His approach to life and humanity is comendable. He definitely set a standard for me as to what great teachers should do and because of him, I find it hard to settle for anything less.
