I took him for PACE Econ 1 & 2 and I enjoyed the class. Its not an easy subject but he trys to help the students as much as possible. He even holds voluntary meetings for those ppl who want to study again, he encourages studing in groups. you grades are based of the examinations. I would recomment him hes a great professor.

Although he is a nice teacher, he doesn't know how to teach. I learned better from the book which is kinda bad. I don't recommend his class if you really want to learn about economics. He literally takes everything from the book, so many times there is no point of going to class.

He is a very nice person and tries to help you if you ask him, but honestly going to the class did not help me. Professor De Luca I felt was not clear with the material and the class lectures were at rapid pace, classes are usually for him an hour. The only tip to pass the class is read the book alot and the powerpoints on moodle, cause the lecture is basically that. If you want to do well in his class, you have to read the chapter before his class, do the practice quizzes and then the graded quiz which is ALL OPEN BOOK!. 85% of the grade is open book, and he drops your lowest 3 quiz grades if you need him to. If you don't do well, then it's because you are not putting in the work.

If ECON is not your thing you will struggle in this class. Most of your grade is based on the online test you can take at home, but even they are tricky. The final is closed book which makes you feel like the online open book set you up for failure. The professor has difficulty adjusting his personality to various learning types.

Have to agree with everything from the posting prior to mine. If Econ is not your thing, you will fail or at least get a D like me. He reads his power-points word for word, then asks if you have any questions. Doesn't do test prep study sessions. If you took away the power points and textbook, he couldn;t teach a thing. Took 2 classes with him and Id take more if I could. His lectures are pretty interesting and as long as you pay attention and take notes the book isnt really necessary. Grades by one online quiz per week (and weekly practice quiz), the midterm, and the final. Quizzes and exams are from lectures and book. One of the best econ professors out there.

Professor De Luca is one of my favorites at Pierce College. Take him, you will not regret it. His lectures are very interesting, however, you should study hard to get an A. There is one quiz every week and four tests throughout the semester. Study hard for your quizzes and tests, watch his lectures, read the chapters and you will succeed.

This has been one of my favorite college classes so far. Due to Covid, the class was moved to online, and he still managed to make it an enjoyable class. If you are looking for a class where you are willing to put in the time to study, this class is for you.

Shame this class is only offered every other year at Pierce! Should be every semester! If you're in the slightest interested in economics and have the chance, take this class. Gives great insight into how things in our country work. Peter did a great job teaching online. He offers extra credit and often lets you take quizzes twice.

All I can say is that Professor De Luca is amazing. He is a truly caring professor willing to answer any and all questions. He replies quick and is always willing to start a Zoom call if need be. He has video lectures for each week with both a practice and testing quiz. Tests are not hard as long as you study and do the practice quizzes. TAKE HIM!

I've already taken two classes with Professor Luca. From my experience, you can learn a lot, and get an A easily if you just listen to the lectures and study. The lectures are all recorded so his class is really convenient for people with tight schedules. Also, I recommend getting the book because it helps a ton with the test. Overall great teacher

I took Econ 1, 2, and 10 with Professor De Luca. I started with Econ 2 in person but that moved online because of the pandemic. The class was very similar in-person and online. He made these classes enjoyable. He lectures a lot but it prepares you for the tests. There wasn't any homework so the grade was based on tests and quizzes, which I liked.

Professor Peter De Luca made this class so interesting. It was quite fun to listen to him because you will learn so much. The class has quizzed every chapter. Test after 3 to 4 chapters. He has live classes and all the lectures are posted on canvas.

Professor De Luca's class History of Economics in the United States was my favorite class in my first semester in college, though not my major I elected to take the class to challenge myself, and indeed it was challenging but I learned so much; learning microeconomics alongside our U.S history is quite the mix, and very educational, he's great!

I enjoyed Prof. Luca class. He does a great job tying econ history to what is happening today. The way he structure his online class is extremly easy to follow and well throught out. You can tell he spends alot of time planning his curriculum. And it shows in his lectures.

Professor Peter De Luca was an amazing professor. He had amazing lectures and always explained more. What do I mean by more? He made the class relevant by pointing out the economic topics he taught happening in current events. He was extremely responsive to any help I needed. It was a pleasure to take his class. Thank you, Professor!

Professor Luca warned on his first day that fifty-percent of students fail his class. After taking his course I see why. His lectures never correlate with the online tests he creates on Canvas. His questions are worded poorly with many typos. His tests are worth about 3 points and exams 12 with no other homework so you must do well on these to pass

Hello overall if you do well on tests take this class. . The midterm and final are worth the most. You also can not use your notes on the midterm and final but you can on your chapter quizzes. His lectures online are sometimes better than his in-person lectures. He is very rough around the edges and he will try to scare you out of the class.

Felt very belittled as a college student I haven't been treated like that since I was in elementary. Lectures are some of the worst I've seen and I've taken 2 years of online as a high school and college student. Strict on surveillance on the one thing you are graded on per week. Overall, bad he will punish the whole class over something some do.

Not the very best experience I have had with this person, as he requires his students to download a Yuja app that monitors your screen and audio. I found it really weird to make a student go through all this unnecessary drama. If you are planning to take an online class with him, Beware of being watched the whole time during your quizzes and exams

Do not be fooled, Peter De Luca was THE WORST professor I ever had the displeasure of meeting. What he spoke of in class never had anything to do with what was on assignments/quizzes. In-between his incoherent rambling about the political state of the world he would sometimes blurt out a piece of economic info, was it ever useful?? NO! BEWARE

This guy may be the worst professor of all time, he just rambles on and on about world politics trying his best to connect the concepts and failing every time. Getting helpful info out of him is a nightmare, he is rude, unhelpful, and insulting most of the time. Also, notice how all the good reviews stop after 2022ish, weird huh! Maybe he gave up.
