Very NIce GENIUS of a man, but a little fastpaced and tests are random and DIFFICULT.
Dr. D is an exceptional biology professor. He inspires everyone in class to pursue their ambitions. The field trips are awesome too.
Dr. D is a very smart and nice teacher, but he tends to move at a fast pace; tests are difficult with no study guides.
Great teacher, very enthusiastic and helpful. Loves to see students learn
Dr. D is an amazing teacher. Very helpfull and caring. He explains things well, but his tests are confusing. Overall he is a great person.
Awesome teacher!! Very smart and very fast-paced. Dr.D is full of knowledge!! So take advantage and try to learn everything you can!!
Way too FAST! If you haven,t taken any prior ANAT class, you are doomed. Takes forever to give test & quizes back. Lots of extra credit(and U need it) No study guide offered! Gives almost no notes. Very smart man. Wouldn't take him again if U paid me!!
One of the greatest teachers I have ever had...! Dr.D is very kind and approachable. He is not a mind reader...If you ask, he will explain. Love his grading system... He is the wizard that wears his heart on his sleeve!...
Horrible, horrible, horrible! If you want to learn about his personal life and learn absolutely nothing about anatomy here is your guy. Unrealistically fast paced, and forget about getting any of your tests back remotely on time.
Great teacher who loves to teach. He likes to see his students learn. This was my first REAL college class I've taken. He doesn't give study guides but, you can still learn all the material. Be prepared for an intense semester in anatomy.
great teacher...it will be fun...he's there to help you and wants you to get a good great...fun class with a few field trips...just come to class and pay attention and you'll lear..test are not hard YOU MUST TAKE THIS CLASS
He is a nice teacher. He lectures too fast and seems to take more time to joke. We just don't know when we get our tests back... His test covers the lecture and all text book materials. His class is overall good.
Very nice teacher also very helpful. Kind of a****only if you're really cute. Always willing to help a student. Don't let his personality fool you he's a pretty hard teacher.
teacher is really nice. His first exam is killer.. i must say the hardest one.. but as you go along it gets easier and more interesting. he gives really easy extra credit and it really helps your grade out. we also had 3 or 4 field trips. lets you out of class early.. makes you study hard though but it helped me study for other classes. i recommend
Very good teacher, teaches with a passion.
Great Guy, very fun class. and very informative
He is a funny man which makes 3hrs lab and 1hr lecture pass by fass. But don't let this fool you though. His tests are extremely hard. His note is a guideline but you need to dedicate time to do lots of reading and learning outside classtime in order to pass his tests and quizzes. Test questions are detail oriented. The class is hard but interesting
this teacher is cool. an easy
Best biology teacher I've had yet!
Dr.D is a sweetart. I admire him for his intelligence and always makes his class interesting. He is a super professor!
best teacher, he's super intelligent, cool. His exams and quizzes are extremely hard, but I will recommend him to everyone who wants to take Anatomy or Biology. If u take his class, u get at least a C; noone fails his class before. However, spend ur time to study, use flashcards, follow his guideline, n u'll be glad that u'll take him.
He tells you exactly what to study, then it's not on the test. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and tells interesting stories. But he doesn't really "teach" so you have to read ahead to have any idea what he's talking about in class. He gives a lot of extra credit oppurtunities, and from what i've heard, he'll make sure everyone passes..
If he talks about it in class it will be on the exam (especially hand outs). Tests are hard but he's a pretty easy grader. Lecture is mostly stories but, if he knows your face, you need to be there (especially if you're on the fence between grades). Not prompt about returning tests and such. Many extra credit opportunities.
Doctor Deliscu is a very Great Special Professor. He is extremely intelligent but also very kind and informative. Tests cover both book and lecture. The test contents are broad, deep and smart. They are hard enough to challenge outstanding students, while the grading is generous enough to help weaker learners.
Great teacher! A must take if your the hands-on learner. His tests are very detail oriented so pay attention to everything. Has many field trips (SF Zoo..)and gives many (7+)extra credit opportunities. Grades fairly. Requires textbook reading to pass. If you cant afford one he'll lend you one. No formal lab reports and no homework ever due.
He's a pretty good teacher. he knows a lot of things, smart guy answer all questions. Makes class interesting and lots of funny stories. Downfall he is not that organized takes forever to give back quizes and exams. Does give opportunities for extra credit.
Dr.D. is very knowlegable and smart. He makes class fun to learn. He has a lot of interested bio stories. TAKE HIM.
Anatomy class is boring if not taught in the right way. Dr. D made anatomy class interesting and worth studying for. I will take a class from him anytime. He knows how to teach, but you need to attend his class, listen to his lectures to get the context of the subject and you NEED To read the book to do well.
Dr. D is an easy going professor and grades fairly easy. Class was hard to follow because it really had nothing to do with the text. Occassionally a few facts about the text were thrown into the "lecture," and it would be on the test. Just tape your lectures for the ittle facts and read the book religiously and you should do fine.
His class is non organized.
Dr D's Anatomy classes are never boring, he has loads of energy and is very fair in his grades. He has a good sense of humor which is keeps the lecs and lab very lively. If you want an A in this class make sure to note down the points when he teaches.
He is hard but it is all worth. He is kind, fun and caring. He is very knowledge in his subject. I took him both Antaomy andPhysio. He is cool. But HE IS WACKO SOMETIMES BECAREFUL. He test you randomly but if you pay attention to his lecture and read a little bit. You will be fine. Full time and work! DONT TAKE HIM., YOU WILL DIE AND GET FRUSTATED

Dr.D is an incredible teacher. I went into this class terrified and knowing nothing about the human body. His enthusiasm is infectious and although his class was probably the most intense and difficult class I have ever taken, it was well worth it. Definitely take this class if you have the chance!
Dr. D is a SJCC treasure. You won't find better instructor any where else. He's definitely one of a kind
I'll give him a score of 99 out of 100 if he hands back the midterms in a reasonable timeframe. Nevertheless, he is great. What impresses me the most is his extensive knowledge on the subject, kindness, generosity, and most importantly his geniune interst for his students. We should be all glad Dr.D decided to teach at SJCC and not somewhere else
gr8 teacher!!! a lOot of extra credit.a lOt of fun in lab, it was neva boring. highly recomend him....
Dr. D is a great teacher, though students are recommended to read the book. You can't follow him if you just come to class unprepared. He is very helpful though. It always amazes the students how he just stands in front of the class and talks about the topic with ease. He is not a fan of writing on the board, so you better have fast writing skills.
A nice guy; has a good sense of humor; very knowledgeable; but needs to speak a little louder during lecture. An intense course, you really need to study hard. Tape the lectures, because studying the text alone does not guarantee an A ? you must know how many miles of capillaries there are in the human body, and other asides he gives in lecture.
He makes Anatomy interesting. There is no study guide so u need to read book before each class. He is not organized so take notes. he has a young mind in an older body.
The class seems unorganized on surface, but under closer examination, it is well structured. We spent more time on the topics(body system) that might be useful once we become nurses. Take him if you are one of them. You'll learn a lot. I'll never forget one rainy day when he showed up 10 min. earlier than usual to open the door us. He cares!
He is one of the best, but if you wanna A in a class you need to work hard. Nothing is for free today. He gives a lot of extra points and drops the lowest test, which helps your grade quite a lot. But you need to be prepared for his class and read the chapters. He knows his subject very well and is always willing to answers any questions.
One of the best prof SJCC has to offer. This guy knows his stuff. Extremely approachable and answers every question about the body or anything else you can imagine. Dr D. motivates you to want to succeed in his class and in life. best ive ever had hands down
You can't go wrong w/ Dr. D!! He has absolute command of all the material, inside and out. He will never hesitate to help his students in their mission to learn.
He's just great. Best prof. @ SJC. He's very helpful, wants his students to do well. He's explains very clearly in class, keeps it exciting and has a few field trips. You'll love it. Just pay attantion in class, do you paper and study and he'll reward you for it. AWESOME
Dr. D really knows his stuff, but he worse at teaching than i had imagined. Dr. D must have been good back then, but now he is lacking what a professor needs in order to have his students succeed. He may have good intentions for us to succeed but, in a large lecture class, he cannot project his monotone voice, and he is unclear with biased info :(
Overall Dr. D is a really good instructor. he knows his stuff well & is very helpful. Subject matter wise the class itself is TOUGH & CHALLENGING. you must really have good studying habits & be dedicated. this class consumes a lot time from your hand. i suggest you take this class with one other class or itself. READ,READ,READ & u r safe. its HARD!
He's a really easy teacher as long as you do your reading for Marine Bio. He's chill and yea. I had the highest grade in his class; 100% before the final lol
Dr D, is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He does not teach the class, he goes over very briefly what chapters you need to know (which is always an outrageous amount) and then you have to read each chapter and memorize it and only half of the test is on the stuff you memorized, the other is stuff that is so random its ridiculous.
am really concerned for the quality of nurses that will come out of his class! This class is crucial for them since its teaching about the functions of human body! This teacher has alot of knowledge no question about that but during his lecture he speaks softly, fast, and low. When you ask him to clearify he will ansewr fast not really explaining.
There is no doubt that he knows the subject material, but often goes into segues and tells stories. He doesn't lecture, just imparts some points that often do not really show up on tests.Copies of previous exams will help a lot.Prefers T/F questions, which tests more of a student's ability to take tests, rather than comprehension of study material.
Dr.D anatomy, does talk way to fast w/voice recorder u can overcome that. he always has extra credit pratically almost lab/lecture exam even has random hw n bonus points for fun. if u do all his extra cr u can boost it to a letter grade. his lab is the easiest if ur good at memorzing. his lecture is hard cuz the t/f questions r so dam tricky.
I took him for Anatomy. He is one of the most wonderful professors I have ever had. He loves what he does and he is always there to help his students in any way he can. I was struggling in the beginning, but with his help, I passed the class. I will take him again for Physio.
Dr.D is AWESOME! I had him for summer session 11' Marine Bio, the class is easy if you study so Study Study! but it's not such a crazy amount you have to study..it really is manageable :D. Do your papers, go to class everyday, study and you'll get an A, I got a 97%. It's not HARD people, I HIGHLY recommend him for any class he teaches.Cheers.
Dislike: Talks fast, low, &mumbles. Hes arrogant. Not helpful. Doesnt lecture. Doesnt care much for what you have to say. Frequent quizzes &gives you a BROAD idea of whats on tests &quizzes. Like: Lots of extra credit. Good stories. Funny. KNOWS HIS STUFF. Doesnt take attendance, but I recommend going to every class. Tries his best to get you in.
Great teacher. Fun and exciting class. But make sure you spend ALOT of times and effort in studying for his exams. lots of XTRA credits to help boost up ur grade. Need to be in class everyday, not mandatory but should.
Awesome teacher. Difficult class but studying pays off. Get ur bands on previous exams :)
studying too much just stresses you out. listen in his class, take good notes and you'll get a good grade. if you're on top of things for lab, start acquainting yourself with the terms and dont let that scare you. lots of extra credit. you can always ask him questions after class if you dont understand stuff. helpful
Dr. D pretty much knows everything, he is extremely approachable, BUT it was always a mystery as to what was going to be on the test. There were MANY unexpected questions, and has very tricky and detailed t/f questions. I would not recommend him a a teacher, but he is a really nice person.
Dr. D is extremely hard if you don't study. You have to study every part of the chapter and the reviews. If you are looking for an easy teacher where you don't have to work hard, don't take Dr. D. You will fail. I got an "A" but I had to work very hard. The test are tricky, and some stuff in lecture is on the test. You have to know everything!
I got an "A" what I recommend. Attendance is a must and take DETAILED OCD notes in class, and I sat in the very front so I could hear him. I think the key is to get full points on the random little esay he assigns and then prepare for the quizzes like they are tests and if you dont do well find someone who did and learn how they study and take note
Took his class over the summer for GE requirement. Awesome teacher who is really relaxed and loves his subject! There is reasonable reading and studying but quiz's and homework not hard at all. Just pay attention and enjoy going on fun field trips.
The teacher is all over the place, you try to study but when the exam comes you have no clue where the material came from. The extra credit is a lot so I heard you can pass the class but it is a waste of time. I would recommend taking it at Evergreen instead me and 4 other people dropped the class because the teacher is all over the place.
Dr D is all over the place when he lectures. When it comes to exam you have no clue what will be on there. For the lecture exams you're gonna be spending the a lot of your time dedicated to reading the book and for the lab he's very helpful when it comes to asking him to narrow it down for you what will be on the test. Gives a lot of extra credits
The most extremely unclear and vague professor I've ever had. Tests are on the most trivial details that you will have to find in the book using a microscope, instead of main ideas/concepts. Everyone complained after each test. Quizzes are easier but tests are the chunk of the grade. Soft voice makes lectures muddled. Basically all self-study.
The study guides are pretty unorganized and the exams are difficult unless you have copies of past exams. He knows what he's talking about but sometimes we, as students, cannot grasp that. At least he gives out extra credit. Be prepared to record his lectures (though sometimes they are pretty useless compared to lab) and have study groups.
Dr. D is awesome. It is a hard subject and you need to study hard to pass it. Dr. D made it so possible for his students to pass. All the extra credit are very helpful for your grade, so do all of them!!! Read ahead of time. Do study group! Study his pass exams. This man if very fair on grading, he is willing to help you all the way.
No HW. Quizzes sometimes. 3 lecture midterms, 3 lab midterms. 1 NON-cummulative final. 1 paper. Many extra credit opportunities. Opt. cadaver project! It's anatomy, the tests are pretty hard! Lab exams are not too bad. MUST STUDY GRADUALLY, do not even attempt to cram last minute. Voice is very monotone & sometimes too lowunclear, hard to follow..
This class is pretty easy. No very clear about what is going to be on test. Says one thing and the test has something completely different. Give tons of extra credit. Easy class is you have some biology background
Dr.D is a great professor! He is fair grader, gives multiple opportunities to receive extra credit, and goes above and beyond to ensure your success in the classes he teaches! Attending his lectures are mandatory and make sure you take good notes! utilize his office hours- he is a great resource!
I ADORE Dr. D! I can't wait to take him again. 3 lecture exams, 3 lab exams, 1 cumulative final, TONS of 1 page extra credit papers, optional cadaver project, 1 page of 25 facts about the body, & 1 future human essay. Anatomy is HARD, but Dr. D made it enjoyable. He will do everything he can to help you. Attend review sessions. Study past exams.
Awesome teacher! Really there to help the students. He even personally hired a past student to tutor Friday mornings in lab to go over old exams and models
Dr. D is an awesome teacher, his exams can be hard but if you read and study the lecture notes than you will do fine, he offers ample amounts of extra credit and is really down to earth, yet very knowledgable about his subject, I only wish he taught Bio 72 Physiology as well.
Dr. D is awesome. Likes to have fun by telling jokes. Anatomy is hard but he makes it easy as possible. Buy the study guide $11, come to class, ask questions and you will be fine. Gives out tons of extra credit, he also grades fair. I really liked him as a professor and a person. If you fail his class you didn't try
He gives you a list of things to study and tests you on a quarter of that.
Dr. D is a very nice man, but that doesn't always make a great professor. He speaks very, very softly, as he is getting older, and there are many times he is literally mumbling during lecture and lab. While he offers many extra credits, they aren't worth much even if you do all of it. Gotta do well on the tests as there are no HW. Lots of reading!
Dr. D is an awesome teacher who makes learning fun. The course is very difficult and requires a lot of memorization and studying. The lecture exams were easier than the lab exams, which are extremely hard. Be prepared to know the little details of everything.
Really great teacher. He is a little soft spoken, so sit close to the front in Lab. He genuinely wants everyone to pass, as long as you try hard and don't cheat. He provides tutoring, has office hours and offers extra credit.
Nice professor, but his lectures are extremely unorganized. There are no lecture slides. His exams test you on fun facts and not anything conceptual that the book teaches you. I felt like studying was a waste of time, as was lab. There is no mandatory experience with the cadavers which is important for premed, prenursing students. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE
Definitely a nice old doctor, but be prepared to basically teach yourself though... I read up on the other dude anatomy teacher and apparently Dr.D is way better than Jonathan Hubbard. He gives you a list of things to study and tests you on a quarter of that.. Unorganized, soft spoken, likes to joke a bit, wants you to pass tho.
Human Anatomy isn't an easy A class. I've taken a professor before who was way harder. Anatomy requires you to remember the little details. Dr. D is a really nice, chill professor. He always offered extra credit, which really helped my grade. Honestly, I'm going to miss coming to his class. I wish I took Anatomy with him the first time.
Dr. D made this course interesting and fun. Anatomy is DIFFICULT, you gotta know that walking in. Go to class, READ THE BOOK, study, and take advantage of the extra credit. Have a study group too! That helped me a lot. Dr. D cares and wants you to succeed. It's up to you to put in the effort. Get ready to learn a lot. P.s. sit close to the front.
If you think Human Anatomy is supposed to be easy & that you can get by slacking off and cramming info before tests, think again. This class tests your ability to memorize LOTS of information. Physio & Micro are much harder classes compared to Anatomy. Dr. D can be hard to hear if you sit at the back. Do all the extra credit he assigns; it helps!
Dr. D is the BEST teacher in the entire B. Area. He knows how to entertain his students, and makes learning fun. Bio71 is not an easy class, you need to read the chapters before going to class. Exams make you think a lot. Cadaver project is a unique opportunity to study inside the body. You should take it seriously for a priceless knowledge!
