I had tried taking this class before but i couldn't understand the other professor then this semester i took finley and just loved the class! he made it so easy to understand & even made everyone actually want to learn.i just wish all my professors were like him.there is no way that you can't learn and get a good grade.

He is great and by far the best math teacher I have had at NEIU. Took him for 108 during summer II after dropping the horible Gleyzer in summer I. Also had him for 102 after dropping the idiot Pouladdege last fall. He should be teaching other math professors how to teach. He gives extra credit and really tries to help everyone in his class pass.

He is helpful and gives edxtra credit problems to increase your grade. If you love math, you should take him. It is easy to pass his class. He is very helpful and shows everything what is coming on the test.

He only gives you 4 tests throughout the semester and your final grade depends on 3 of them. He goes directly from the book. He grades on every detail. You have to show all the work even if you already can solve the problem without.

Busines Calculus is HARD. Finley, is one of the best professors I have encountered at the university. Goods notes,extra credit to add to test scores, uses attendance as another grade booster, and gives you cofidence that you can learn the material. Take him if you are comfortable with Math or are unsure about other professors, he's the best choice!

I dreaded math before I had him, he is an excellent teacher and makes you believe that you can accomplish anything. I have gotten A's in ever math class ever since taking his class.

Took Business Calculus with him and he is the best teach in the math department. He explains all the material in detail and give you many chances to get a good grade even if you dont do good in exams. Go to class, take notes, and ask questions if you dont understand.

This man is the best and kindest teacher not just in the math department but in the whole university. He should teach a course on teaching to some of those incompetent professors.

mr.finley is the most helpful professor i've ever had.i never thought that math can be this easy and clear.he gives 3 exams and drops the lowest one.goes over what the exam will look like. basically he tells us what problems will be on the exam;only 10 questions. very easy highly reccommednded!! and helpful at ALL times.

OH MY GOD!!! HE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. I HATED MATH, I THOUGHT MATH WAS SO HARD BUT WHEN I STARTED TAKING HIM EVERYTHING CHANGED. HE'S VERY VERY CLEAR, GOES OVER THE MATERIAL UNTIL YOU REALLY GET IT AND HE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT EACH WEEK. LOVED HIM!!!!!!!

Pre-Calc. He is very helpful during class and during tests. His grading is very fair, gives points for work even if answer is wrong. He is very nice and helpful. Better than other dry math teachers I've had. Grade based on avg. of 3 tests consisting of 10Q's, with 1 extra credit on each test worth 10 points! Its possible to catch up a poor grade

Math has never been my strongest subject, but attending class and listening to his lectures truly helped me understand math. He is a thorough professor. Unlike many other math profs i've had, Finley explains math very well, and works the problems through. Highly recommended.

Tests were straight forward. He gives an outline before each test and lets you know what type of problems he will ask. You grade is out of 4 tests and drops your lowest score. He's a nice guy. Will stop and go over something if you have any questions.

Professor Finley is the best math professor that I've had at NEIU. He truly cares about his students. I would highly recommend him to anyone. If you show up to class and do the homework, you should have no problem getting an A for the course.

The Best Math Teacher, I wanted him for 167, but there was a scheduling mix up. Will always help you out if you have questions. Wants you to learn, but will not force you, but will always help if you ask. Even on the tests. Take him for your math if he is available.

So Mr. Finley gave me a D and I still think he is the best math professor that NEIU has to offer. He speaks english... which basically makes you an allstar at NEIU. Good, honest guy. Will always go out of his way to help you.

Prof. Finley is willing to help you at any point of the day. He classes are not mandetory but you will just fall behind if you do not go to class. He goes over problems everyday and has no suprises for his quizes. He explains what will be on the test and he will give you all the formulas. He will grade on test & gives out extra credit on quizes.

Prof Finley is straight forward. His 3 tests were very reasonable, lot of chances 4 extra credits. He is very helpful during class and tests; willing to go back and explain everything we dont understand; just take notes and study from there. He is there to teach and helps students pass the class. I'd strongly recommend him to everyone.

I had him for Both 185 and 187. He is AWESOME! He will explain you the problems no matter how many times you want! He is a very kind man, very easy but please DONOT take advantage if his kindness, you will not achieve anything in life that way. His study guides are very useful! He is very generous and modest! Precalculus!!! Professor Finley is a very approachable teacher willing to help his student. He can be a bit tough and boring though. Also he seems to reuse test from the previous semester. So as a heads up get what you can because he only has 3 test for the semester.

Nicest teacher ever! This is probably the sweetest and most kind professor I have come across. Every math class of his is based on 3 tests, and even though I averaged B's on all 3 of them, he gave me an "A". I highly recommend him!

If you are looking for the definitive learning experience in PreCalc, Professor Finley wins hands down. His lectures are extremely clear and straightforward, he allows you to use cheat sheets on exams, and he's very helpful. I would have never survived Calc 1 without the help of Finley.

Professor Finley is very professional and extremely respectful. His lectures are super helpful,if you can't afford the book, they are almost a substitute for the book. Anyone can get an A in this class because the expectations are crystal clear and there are opportunities to improve your grade. I highly recommend Prof. Finley's class.

Professor Finley is very clear and fair. Your grade is the average of 3 exams. That's it, no homework, no quizzes, no attendance or participation. His explanations are very detailed. I wish he went over more example problems in class. Not super engaging, but a very nice guy an not overly hard.

Dr. Finley is extremely thorough. Not incredibly interesting, but he definitely takes the time to explain everything. He was always willing to do problems that people had issues with. I will absolutely take him for Calc. Grade is based on 3 exams andn nothing else.

By far the best Math Teacher I have ever taken. I took his class in 2010 and I am planning to take him again. He explains everything in great detail. He gave 3 exams but I had confidence that I would do well because his teaching methods were superb.

Finley is amazing. he really wants his students to do well. He makes the subject easy, and he definitely knows how to explain so that everyone gets it. He also gives a lot of extra credit so if you aren't a good test taker it makes the class a lot easier on you. i'd recommend him for sure.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. attendance not mandatory, does not collect homework, doesn't rush through the work, patient, answers everyone's questions, assigns a lot of extra credit, 3 exams given. HE'S AMAZING & STRAIGHT FORWARD.

Finley was helpful; he gave extra credit assignments for extra points to be tacked on to the exams. The exams were a bit tough, but if you studied and did the extra credit assignments then you were able to pass easily with a really good grade. I definitely recommend him because he gave a lot of extra credit that can help your grade.

Wonderful teacher. Very clear in what he expects of you, explains everything in a clear, concise, most important---UNDERSTANDABLE manner. Many extra credit assignments, extra credit problem on every test. Highly recommended! Especially for those of us who aren't very interested in Math.

This is the BEST professor i have had in my college career!he is the most nicest and sweetest man, and has the clearest way of teaching. i got an a on first test waiting for finals. i haven't took math in four years and he makes it so simple, gives e.c. Yes i got an A and it was through paying attention to him and doing e.c,its easy but work &LEARN

Great teacher. There are three exams including the final. No Homework. Gives you lots of extra credit. Really good review so you can prepare for your exams, no surprises. Math is my worst subject spent a lot of time at the Math learning center that the school offers which also HELPS tremendously. Definitely recommend him.

Wonderful Instructor! Your grade is an average of three tests. Homework is not mandatory. Extra credit is offered. He understands that Calculus can be difficult for those with weak Algebra/Trig skills and will spend reviewing and pointing out the minutia that can make a the content difficult. Highly recommended!

Great teacher! Very straightforward with lectures and is super compassionate. He really wants you to succeed. Only problem is his lectures are kinda boring since he speaks pretty monotone.

Peter Finley is a great professor. He makes concepts clear and makes himself available if anyone needs help. This was an easy class for me. I went to all classes and paid attention, and did all practice problems that he would say to look at before a test and got an A+. He is a great guy, but seems nervous sometimes for no apparent reason.

I would say that Dr. Finley is the best professor I've ever taken. He's very helpful and respectful. 3 exams, doesn't collect HW, and answers any question asked by students. I definitely recommend this professor.

I love Mr. Finley!!! I had a sucky professor for pre calc and algebra wtrig and so going into calculus with Finley was really scary for me and there was a lot that I didn't know. This wonderful man spent every day of his office hours the WHOLE time just teaching me how to do calculus, I LOVE Mr. Finley! He is extremely caring & a total sweetheart.

One of the best math teacher at Northeastern and quite laid back. Had him for Math 165 on Saturday mornings, not the most fun thing to do on a Saturday morning but this professor is great and teaches the material well.

Best teacher I have ever had. He is one of those "Hallmark" teachers, meaning he leaves an imprint on you both academically and as a person. He has an old school style where he writes out every math step in words what he did! This style of teaching is amazing and helps you have great notes. He also helped in office hours every day before class.

Hey guys so I took Statistics class with this professor. He gave 3 exams and he dropped one and count the highest test twice. Also take good notes because his tests are based on lectures. Do practice problems and if you have any questions go during his office hours. He will give you study guide like similar problems that will be on the exam.

Professor Finely did a greay job teaching all the dense class material in a 6 week summer course. exam questions are from your assigned homework, so do your homework.

The grade was based off of 3 exams during the semester. He wasn't one to share about his personal life or anything, he came to class, lectured and answered any questions from the students and left. If you take notes on the material that he goes over in class and you study from the, you're good for the exam. It's basically just modified from notes.

Best math professor. He really teaches you how to manage your own and when you put in the bit of work that is compiled in the homework and his study guides, there is no way you can't get an A. I received all extra credit so far and in order to keep my A, I have to get a 49 on the final, yes I said it, a 49% to keep my A.

Professor Finley goes over the material clearly and at a moderate pace. You will probably not pass the class or do well if you dont do the homework. Homework is not hard at all. Only a few problems per section which are practically the same problems that show up on the test

Prof. Finley is a remarkable teacher, and I passed his PreCalc course with flying colors. No homework, so it's up to you to make sure you're on top of your stuff and going over the review for the exams. He allows cheat sheets on exams, so take advantage of this however you will. Overall, wonderful teacher.

Math173. You need to have a very good understanding of basic algebra to be successful, he is not for everyone. Do the homework even though it's not required, it's what he tests on. He weighs his test VERY heavy. This man is absolutely brilliant. He will go into a lot of detail about why math is the way it is. Be ready for lecture, he goes very fast

Professor Finley is a great professor and really passionate about what he teaches. There is only 3 test throughout the whole semester, but he does let you use a cheat sheet. His exams are based on the textbook questions so make sure you look over the questions and you'll be solid. He allows a formula sheet and extra credit.
