Ok..He's hot...He's Irish...He's an amazing prof...what more could you want!?!? Take one of his classes! You won't regret it!
If you are a **** man or a straight girl and you have always had a thing for men with Irish accents, take a class with Peter Flynn. Plus, you'll actually learn something. He's funny, cute, and enthusiastic when talking about topics.
Funny guy. Fun classes. Take a class with Petey.
not only hot and with a darling irish accent, but an amazing teacher. He's funny and really interacts with students during class. speaks his mind. He was really helpful and knows what's he's talking about.
The funniest professor EVER. He's hott, it's true, but what a sense of humor the guy has. He says whatever the hell he wants, and I've learned so much. He really knows his sh*t.

pretty much Bulls**ts his lectures. I did not learn very much at all. He is not very respectful of students' opinions. HE IS HORRIBLE AT COMMUNICATING!!! Seriously, don't even bother emailing him. He's so arrogant and obnoxious
Peter is an amazing film teacher. He also directs the Boston Irish Film Festival and is interested in what he teaches. Having him as a professor is the best thing that's happened to me at Emerson.
He's funny and all, but sometimes I feel as if he doesn't know all that much about what he's talking about. In my arrongance I believe I know more about Final Cut, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop than he does. His self deprecating humor has an air of truth to it; he really does **** lectures.
Peter is the best. He actually makes class fun and knows what he's talking about. I've had him 3 semesters in a row and he's one of the best professors I've ever had. He's very helpful and does not assign a lot of work. Great teacher and would recommend him to anyone.
Don't take Intro to Media Production with him. He didn't even give us sheets explaining the grading criteria for half the assignments. I didn't have him for lab, but for lectures, he was horrible. The lab assistant that I did have didn't seem to know what she was doing, either. I learned nothing.
Very entertaining and funny. I don't suggest getting a T.A. for the lab sections because the one I had was not helpful at all. Flynn is funny and informative and passionate about what he does, but the class is somewhat elementary.
He's not afraid to let the expletives fly. A cool dude, and he manages to turn a benign subject into something worth listening to.
Sense of humor aside, he really knows a lot about his subject. My only criticism is that he has to control rowdy kids in his classroom a bit more
Brilliant, wonderful, clever, witty, charming... and yes appealing in everyway possible ;-) maybe it's the accent? I don't know... but it's by far my favorite class to attend!
IRISH <- big one, Cocky, Very Funny, He hates the class as much as the students do so he understands that its boring and tries to project it like the coolest thing in the world. He is very new age and young in teaching. Frequently swearing and getting the students laughing, Very good professor *****
Everyone who talked bad about Flynn is a facist. I would drink a Guniess with that man. Take his class.
Pete Flynn is the funniest professor I've had so far at Emerson. He's constantly insulting himself and the lectures, but only to ease the students about the horrendous schedule that MA 202 has. Seriously, the T.A. stinks and you get no time to work on the projects. But Flynn makes it worth it.
Peter Flynn calls people on ****.I would not recommend this class if you are lazy and need an extra push. Don't let his fun attitude fool you into thinking you can get away with ANYTHING. He walks the line between **** and idiot so beautifully you fall in love with him. He swears a lot. YAY!!

Peter is a great guy and incredibly funny - which makes for the perfect teaching style. I unfortunately got stuck with a TA for the lab session, which made the class less fun. But I always looked forward to going to the lectures because Peter is the man.
I just love Peter. Minus that whole wearing the same clothes two days in a row. Otherwise, just prepare a lot for the exams, and it's all good.
OH MAN, SO GOOD! i love peter flynn so much it hurts. an extremely interesting irishman and it shows through his teaching. the class time is based writing notes from the projector and watching clips and sceenings. 100% of your grade is based on 4 multi-choice exams (each 25%). sucks if u r a bad test taker, but he'll work with u to do well.
I agree with everything everyone else said. He is so interested in what he's talking about that you become interested too. He is very energetic. If you do bad on a test, be prepared to be shunned in front of the entire class.
Interesting, funny, engaging. One of my favorite professors
Peter Flynn ruled. My god, the man played "F*ck the Police" on the first day. who else does that? is he still around? if not, he should be.
the man cusses so much, you can't help but pay attention. really though he's super entergetic so you can't help but be interested. great professor, really makes it interesting.
Flynn is just awesome. His class is based on projector notes - the key people and places from which make up the 4 tests that decide your grade. the screenings are ussually not half bad, the tests are multiple choice and he's a great, energetic, young guy. Very fun class.
Presents material in creative ways and encourages critical thinking and discussion, nothing out of this worls, though.
overall a really fun, energetic guy who really gets his material and covers it in a way that makes the class interesting and valuable. and his accent isn't bad to listen to either : )

i remember the last words he spoke to our class that fine day... "don't cheat, you motherf***ing americans." it was love.
THE MAN! Best professor ever. he doesn't have to explain****, just him being so cool pushes you to make great films. And most likely with him, you will.
Freaking awesome. Easy class, but still really funny. If you stay awake/copy down his powerpoints you're home free. He loves to rip on Americans and teenagers. He's one crazy Irish dude.
Flynn is an awsome teacher who has a great sense of humor. I've learned a lot while in his class. Just don't give him a reason to make fun of you!
Flynn is the man. Cheeky, great humored guy. Took Media Production during the summer and decided to stay at Emerson because I loved it so much. If you want to really learn, Peter may not know every single trick but he's more than happy to work with you to find that special effect you're looking for.
Flynn is a nice guy, but his class is a joke. If you want to take it easy (though you still are required to show up) take his class.
Really excited about the subject and therefore, the students get excited.
My favorite ****en Irishman here at Emerson, and that's saying something. A fairly easy class, providing you show up. Flynn is smart and funny, with a sense of humor about his subject, something too often in short supply here at Emerson.
Flynn-by far one of best. Workload in the class is light but his intelligent lecture style will get you the deepest meaning of the films in question, and a wonderful overview of thier history. He will help you not only in the class, but with personal projects were you to ask. Those who fear taking it easy, we take exams, each one 25% of the grade.

Flynn is a funny guy, he has a good sense of humor and he uses it and his excitement to make you interested. It could have been a painful class but I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend him.
Peter Flynn is amazing. Knows his stuff, funny guy, has a passion for film. The way to go for History of Media Arts. Just don't bring your laptop.
"Does that make sense?" .... seriously, I think that about says it all. The man is awesome.
My first class at emerson and my favorite. i've had him as a teacher at every opportunity i get (i hope to have him some more before i leave emerson). he just says it as it is. and encourages a relaxed atmosphere. great and easy lectures and a nice atmosphere: thats between fun and work...great guy..and a great teacher
Flynn is the man, of course. He knows his stuff, he's a riot, he makes the class fun (even if the material takes a turn for the boring), and everybody loves the guy. I had him for History of Media Arts I last year and I would have him again if I could. Just take note: if you are on your laptop all the time during class he will cut you down.
The best thing is that he encourages you to fail because you can learn the most from mistakes. Its a very good environment to be in and he really encourages personal growth.
Do not buy the textbook. It's a complete waste of money. The class is extremely well organized and very efficient. Essentially, Flynn gives you tutorials and then you self-teach. He can be arrogant and imposing, but his feedback is spot on and very helpful.
the projects are a lot of work and pretty hard if you think into it too much. if you just blow the course off and half ass everything you'll be fine
Best professor at Emerson. Swears alot and makes class enjoyable. Would take him again if I could
I highly recommend Flynn To anyone and everywinn.
Flynn is the best way to take production and history II. I loved both classes, and learned an incredible amount. He repeats nothing if you take both classes. He knows grades aren't the most important thing and that effort is, so he gives you a good grade if you put in what you should, and it's very hard not to get a ton out of it. Amazing teacher.
Unfortunately Fundamentals of VMA Prod. is a fast paced class. Peter is a really nice professor and wants you to learn by failing and learning from your mistakes. He is wicked funny and swears all the time with an Irish accent. The lab periods are once a week and too rushed, but if you ever need outside help he can make himself available.
I love this man! The class has less projects then some of the other classes. However it is set up in a really good way. It is definitely the best way to take Foundations of Production. He has the greatest Irish accent and he is really helpful and funny. You want to go to the class. It was my favorite class and I never wanted to miss it.
Fun, engaging and intelligent. The tests are pretty straight forward, just study the powerpoints. The class can be dull at some points but he's funny and knows how to make the material more accessible.
PETER FLYNN IS *THE MAN*. Enthusiastic, helpful, fair, and no bs. I learned a ton in this class but more importantly I gained a lot of confidence. Peter Flynn made me believe in myself and my abilities. Very fair grader. You will learn a lot, but bring time management skills with you to this class. No hand holding here but that's a very good thing.
My favorite professor by far! He's so enthusiastic and insightful with his teaching that everything will seem interesting. Our class with him is learning far more than students taking the course with another teacher. He's funny and he doesn't baby anyone or take bs, but he is never mean and will never yell at you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I really can't write any more glowing praise than the comments already here...you da man, Peter!
Pete Flynn is probably the best VM120 teacher you can find. He's funny, nice and his class is never dull. His class only has three projects and as long as you put in the effort, you'll do fine. And his only test is the final which is simple as long as you put in some study time.
Peter is the best. As long as you put effort into your work you'll do fine. He's very fun and his Irish accent doesn't hurt either. He's very passionate about film and art. I had a great time!
This man makes life worth living. I had him a few years ago for VM120 and I enjoyed his class so much that I registered for another class with him. You should DEFINITELY take a class with him if you have the opportunity.
Flynn is awesome! I loved taking his class. He was funny and down to earth, but he knows his stuff. Very helpful and easy grader. Only one online quiz and a final exam on all the notes, which he prints out and hands to you!
Flynn is the best! I look forward to his class every week. He is very helpful in class and he really knows his stuff. He makes class fun and keeps you interested the whole time. Take a class with him if you have the chance, he's a great guy! By far my favorite professor!
Flynn is hilarious. He curses at you through his Irish accent but is also one of the best teachers at Emerson. His lectures are interesting and very easy to understand and his examples are clear and well explained. If you can get him, you are in for an awesome semester!
Very cool professor. He knows what he's talking about and you could actually listen to him for hours without a problem. It's also easy to talk to him as just another person and filmmaker--not an intimidating authoritarian figure.
He gives you great help and a lot of fun. He is that kind of professor you wanna meet in school.
Amazing professor, compelling, funny. Doesn't use the book, and you get your money's worth for the class.
He's Irish and he's super cool.
He is honestly the greatest professor I will ever have. I've taken a few of his classes and I have never had a professor so passionate about the topic and gives smart feedback and allows you to hone in on your individual creative voice. He cares deeply for his students in and out of class. He has gone out of his way to help me without being asked
Peter is great. He's the most inspirational lecturer ever. He is clear about filmmaking and is genius during workshops. He really pushes you to make good art, and would penalize you if you try hard. He knows everything about film and has inspired me in more ways than I can count. Take a class with this irish man. You won't regret it. He's talent af
Best lectures I've ever had and best teacher I've ever met. Love this Irish man's passion and talent on film and media history. Definitely make you a better artist and even a better human being. I'll take every one of his class with no hesitation! In fact I'll take his Film 1 next semester!
Fantastic guy, great teacher. He really gets what the core of film is and describes it very simply. Also gives harsh but very true feedback on projects, in a respectful way.
Pretty good class, I know he hated me because I didn't always take his advice or follow the project rules but he still respected my efforts and was ultimately a really great professor
Peter is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's really great about talking to students individually about their specific needs. His classes are very engaging and he makes everything we do fun. If you ask him for advice about anything he's glad to give you feedback and steer you in the right direction. He 's so great!!
I truly did enjoy Peter's class, I think he is a great lecturer and a nice guy. However, he is a bit behind the times when it comes to technology and seems to refuses to adapt and learn.
Peter is the perfect person to be teaching Film I. He is talented, caring, and is realistic in his understanding about the limits of the technology. He never expects more than you can handle, and just wants you to learn and have fun. Gives amazing feedback, and hes the only professor Ive had yet at Emerson who has done so.
Peter is one of those professors that's more like your friend. First name basis only with him. His approach is to make you learn, but will not overload you by any means. Come to class, you pass. He's Irish, so everything he says is bound to be funny, and super realistic. He tells you when something you're learning is absolutely unnecessary.
Peter Flynn is the reason why I'm not upset about my thousands of dollars of debt Emerson has left me in. One class with him and it was all worth it. Highly HIGHLY recommend taking anything thing you can with the incredible and untouchable Peter Flynn. also I give him all the hotness peppers
Peter Flynn is one of the better teachers at Emerson, and I have taken a class with him every year. I WISH he taught a directing/producing/cine class! Instead, he tends to teach unimportant classes like Intro/Film 1. Great to talk to in class, but virtually unreachable outside of class (doesn't respond to emails, he's busy on shoots).
I've taken Peter's class for three semesters in a roll and I would keep doing it if he had more classes available! Truly the best professor I've ever had and he really cares about you! Knows a LOT about what he's talking about and he loves Chaplin so it's contagious!
Peter is great! Definitely take a class with him if you can! He is passionate about what he teaches. This class (Silent Hollywood Seminar) was not difficult at all! There were only three assignments, and they were really simple. One test, a 5 page paper, and a 10 page paper. It's not hard, and he is willing to help you work it out if you struggle!
If you're a film kid, you HAVE to take Peter's class before you graduate. Peter is amazing. He can be funnily abusive (he would say something like, I promise you that three of you will turn in absolute sh-t), but he is the most authentic and sincere person you'll meet at Emerson. He actually motivates and helps you.
Peter is probably the single best professor at Emerson College. He's very good at teaching the material and accommodating to a fault of any possible student issue. More than anything though, his pure passion and enthusiasm for filmmaking is infectious and makes every class a treat. Engage him in a conversation and you're guaranteed to learn.
Flynn is a very fun professor and gives a very easy course in Intro to Documentary. His philosophy is that everyone should get an A, so you don't have to worry about grades really. His feedback was generally good, but I felt discouraged at times by how harsh he was to me. I felt like I was getting singled out in front of the class.
I had Flynn last summer for a Intro to Media Production course as a freshman and he absolutely helped me to fall in love with film. He is extremely helpful, understanding, and so so passionate about film. Absolutely recommend taking his courses at some point because he really understands what its like to learn filmmaking as an art. Also Irish!
Peter was absolutely amazing for Introduction to Documentary Production. He gives everyone an A, so you don't stress about grades. But, you should still do the projects because him and the class provide valuable feedback. However, prepare for his feedback to be harsh, but helpful. Absolute kindest man, but he doesn't pull punches with criticism.
Peter is the most kind, caring, funny, and informed professor I've ever had. He clearly cares about what he does and his students. Such a great guy to talk to and an amazing professor overall.
He's just the best. Taking a Peter class is essential to the Emerson College experience. Do it!
Peter's "Film Style" class was awesome! Was unsure what to expect going in but took because of his great reputation. If you really really love film as an art form this class is a necessity. By far the most inspiring class I took at Emerson.
Excellent prof. There's nothing he doesn't know about film. Lectures are fun and his feedback is great. Take a class with Flynn!
Professor Flynn is a passionate and engaging teacher who makes every class a treat. His expertise and enthusiasm are infectious - you'll find yourself hooked on filmmaking. For study prep, Unstuck study and the free textbook really help solidify the material.
the best!!!
