He is very helpful with ever essay that he gives!! (he gives many!!)

Extremely helpful and fair. Makes sure everybody understands the reading and essay topics. Grades fair. He uses critical thinking and logic to approach most of the material, which comes in very helpful once it's time to write an essay. He gives a lot, by the way. If you don't like to write essays(at least one every other weak) then don't take him.

Oddly enough the class was a lot of fun; however, it did leave you with a headache every once and a while (Too much thinking). The essays were not extremely difficult to write, but at the same time not supper easy either. His personality and teaching style make the class go by fast. Very good teacher, I would defiantly recommend him!

he is a great teacher understands students and is a motivator to keep going to school. it would be great if more teachers would be as clear, nice, smart, understanding as him.

It felt more of a philosophy class rather than an english class. i was regreting and felt dreadful at first in his class cuz i HAte Phil but its pretty easy and gets interesting. essays every once in a while based on what we read. pretty easy grader then i assumed to be and easy teacher. take him!

he is a nice guy and passinate when he teaches. He has a bad habit on going off topic and jokes alot. Other than that he is a good teacher.

i know the semester just began, but i already have thoughts on him. he's an awesome teacher. he's opinionated & keeps u engaged. he goes off subject a lot. a lot of what we read & discuss in class is philosophical. he assigns about 2 readings per week, but it's not a lot. girls: he's cute, but too bad he's getting married.

good prof. goes off topic a lot, but easy to follow along lectures. lots of reading and 2 in class essays, 2 outside class essays, and 1 research paper.

Very clear and helpful teacher. He is so fair. Listens to his students and actually cares what we say. At first he may seem intimidating but he just does that so you dont walk all over him, he is really cool and there is no reason for you not to get an A if you do all your work and actually try.

i took him for summer. i loved the fact that he offered workshops before essays were due. since i went to all of them i got a's on all of them. for this reason i recommend him to everyone and besides class was not boring even with shakespeare.

Professor Francev is extremely knowleagable in both English and Philosophy(Indeed, he has double Master's degree in English and Philosophy). He encourages students to actively participate in class discussion and makes challenging reading materials very interesting. Also, don't get mad at his sarcastic jokes. It is just his style of lecture.

Professor Francev is an awesome teacher! He really engages you in lecture and makes sure students understand. Makes english much easier more enjoyable. And you really learn useful things.

lol don't go on first impressions. He's super nice and really helpful. Just be prepared when you go to class and take notes..You should be pretty much set for an A! Peer editing is pretty helpful. Totally recommended. Should have taken him for IA. :(

awesome teacher. if you take advantage of the help he offers, you'll do amazing and learn so much. class was never boring and we were really only given in- class writing assignments when the class didnt participate in discussion. if you cant handle constructive criticism, dont take his class..but you should because he really is helpful.

I loved this class although I hated the books we read. It is easy to do well if you take the time to review your essay for formatting, grammar, and content before you turn it in. (just like any Engl class)He is really helpful and makes the class enjoyable. I love this professor!

He is one of the best professors that I've encountered at Mt. Sac. He makes class enjoyable and makes a lot of jokes. At the same time, he can get serious to reassure you that he means business. I remember once I forgot my book on an exam day and I got some attitude, but looking back, I deserved it. Oh, he is EASY on the eyes too; very attractive.

i love this prof. he is great, wish i would of known about him sooner. He can get a little mean at times but that does not last very long. Great guy. kinda cute, but married! hands off ladies.

he is a very good teacher and will help you out on any essay you have. He goes over every literary piece covered in class so if u dont get it when u read, it's really crystal clear once he explains it. He will get on top of you and make you think hard into the question.

Francev made me like english class. He's young, funny but at times can be a little rude (not too much) You must be willing to work in his class but it is not impossible to get a good grade. He is very very helpful. will look over your essay before you turn them in

Ha ha i took him when he was still talking about purposing to his girlfriend on new years..guess it happened. He is such a fun teacher and his class is not hard. He does go off topic a lot, but definetely would recommend him.

He makes shakespeare, poetry, and stories easy to understand. I usually hate that kind of stuff, but I like it a little more b/c of him. He is very funny, and sometimes goes off topic w/ his sarcasitic comments, but then goes back to teaching. He isn't a hard grader & if your essay is late he marks 10% of your grade. he's kinda cute too. I recomend him!

he is a great professor. i enjoyed his class. he is funny... but some people dont like his humor... he is a newly wed. to bad girls cuz he is cute! he he. but u will learn something in his class, and he won't be extrememly difficult. take him for english! he is a down to earth young teacher, who still wants you to actually learn something.

Prof. Francev does an amazing job. He teaches what he wants and when he's done you're free to leave. Not that you'll really want to with how entertaining he makes his class! He asks that you submit a rough draft for your essays so that he can clarify what he wants. Overall he is an outstanding professor and I'd definitely take him again :)

Great Prof. Actually teaches engish subjects like Hamlet and Oedipus Rex. I took him for English 1A, and I would like to take him for 1C. He helps you out when ever you need it. He will look at your work before you have to turn it in. If you make the corrections he suggests, then you will get an A.

He is honestly the best teacher Ive ever had. Hes great at explaining everything in class, I didnt read anything in the text book to pass the class. I highly recommend him. Hes a funny guy and understands his students and actually gets to know you.

Professor Francev is definitely one of the best professors at SAC. I took him for English 1A and am currently taking him for 1C-Honors. He is not an easy professor, but he is very helpful. He has days that he will look over your essays and tell you what to change for a better grade. He is an amazing professor and has helped my writing immensely!

Francev will forever remain to me as the most charming, ravishing professor I have ever had.He goes on tangents constantly. That's ok. His beauty radiates enough heat to keep a student seem focused. Funny and chill professor.. Can be difficult, but he does explain things well.

Took him a few semesters ago. He was a good teacher if you like to read things like Shakespeare so understanding some of the things can be difficult but he ends up explaining the readings after a while and helps you analyze whats going on. The cool thing was his research was I believe 50% of the grade. Not my 1st choice but for some he's an option.

I took professor Francev for both English 1A (in the summer) and 1C Honors. He is an amazing professor that truly cares about his students. His class is not easy, but he is more than willing to help every student that is willing to put in the work. He is definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. I would HIGHLY suggest him.

I never had an A in English before taking English 1A with Francev. His class is challenging, but when you accept the challenge and engage in class his teaching will greatly improve your analytical and writing skills.

Francev is a great teacher. Not an easy class but it is manegable. I ended up with a B. A lot of poem reading and also a book. He is very sarcastic. Take him if you are okay with a challenge.

One of the best professors in mtsac. I definitely wish I could take him again! VERY challenging, but I was up for it and boy did I enjoy his class! He is the BEST LECTURER ever. My hats of to him. Had him for the Winter Semester. He is very helpful prior to writing your essay. If you do not like writing, then taking the class during a 6-8 week semester will not make it easy for you. This class will go by very fast so try to keep up. Overall, he is a great teacher that will help you tremendously!

I had him for Winter session and the content we learned was not all that interesting BUT he made it interesting by having us due debates and group sessions. I have to say one of my best teachers thus far.

Professor Francev is my all time favorite professor. He seems to come off hard the first day but is very good. He explains all the material that you read in the book each week. At first I considered dropping his class. He comes off very strict, requires alot of reading and he is very philosophical- & Im not. However, he grew on me & I ended up admiring and respecting him alot. Sarcastic. May give pop quizzes. Slightly strict at grading- but then again, it was Eng1a, a college level class. I had him for fall 2010-- better late than never. He's pretty clear on what he wants in your essays. If you don't understand, he will help you as much as possible! I would stay for both workshops when he had them just so I could make sure that my writing was clear. My first essay was a B. I worked hard, asked questions and got myself A papers.

Good professor. He looks like he is a strict professor but he is actually very friendly if you know how to communicate with him politely. Although sometimes he acts sarcastic, he is willing to help if you show that you are serious about your work and your grade.

I am a athlete an professor francev made it clear from jump that i will work for my grade that I had a bulleye on my back. He gives very clear directions and is very hands on. Take use of the peer workshops he gives because that can be the difference of an A/B in the class. Highly recommended he treated me as a student use my critical think skills.

He'll poke fun at you, but he's an Awesome professor who will go out of his way to help you, granted that you put in your share of the work. Young(ish), chill, sarcastic, knows his stuff. As far as his sense of humor, he can take what he dishes out, so don't be offended when he seems to be "attacking" you. Because he will attack you. Hilariously.

If you are a lazy student, don't like to read, hate writing, you don't go to class often; DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You must read, write 16-23 page research paper, and attend class. Professor Francev, is brilliant, well versed in his subject of Camus studies and you will certainly learn a great deal from him. He is funny as hell and sarcastic.

I took Professor Francev Winter of 2014. His class was intense, but definitely worth the sweat. Professor Francev has the greatest personality! It's easy to mistake his sarcasm for being rude, so try not to and you'll enjoy his class. He is passionate about his career and is helpful to his students. Take his class serious and he'll take u serious.

Honestly the best teacher I have came across at Mt. Sac. I took him for both 1A and 1C. He makes you work for your grade but is very helpful and inspirational. English was not my favorite subject but after taking this class it became one of my favorite subjects. TAKE HIM.

Professor Francev is good professor. I took his class in Fall 2014. Lots of reading but interesting, absurd philosophy gives me different view of life. The essays are not hard, but you need to read to finish it. Take him. You will pass.

His assignments are clear lecture is complex. Pay attention in class and do all of the assigned reading. Never a boring day with him as long as you know that hes joking most of the time

Take good notes during lectures so you have a strong basis for your essays. Don't be scared by the syllabus! He offers peer workshop days for you to bring in rough drafts for him to revise and go over w you before he grades. Reasonable amount of reading, dont sweat it, camus novels are like 100 pages. You will get a good grade if you work for it !

took him spring '14, waited almost a full year to take him for 1c bc i value him that much as a professor. he has a good heart and is committed to your education. my time in his classes were the most fulfilling, enjoyable, & overall positive experiences ive had on this campus. do me a favor + pls make sure he doesnt drink too much soda :)

Turned out to be one of the best classes taken on campus. Eng as a 2nd language? no worries. He cares about his students and gives constructive feedback. Go to him whenever you have questions. Lecturediscussions really make you think and learn a lot. oh and - don't stress, just listen to him. If he says you're fine, YOU'LL BE FINE :) Just take.

All the assigned readings really prepare you for the essays. no need to be intimidated, just enjoy his lectures and great discussions, ask questions. he cares and sees students' effort. One of those rare classes that you really get to see your learning outcomes afterward. TAKE.

He's super easy if you just follow the MLA format and actually organized your essay, most people were shot because they didn't properly write their essays. His lectures are "shoot yourself in the face" boring even with his sarcastic humor but its clear and makes sense. He will definitely help you with your essay to get the best grade.

Francev is by far one of my favorite professors in this school. He is a harsh grader but there are peer workshops where he reads your essays and provides feedback!! Professor Francev comes to teach, what you put into this class is what you will get out. -He is willing to help you! - he has very helpful peer workshops where he gives you specific feedback - you will grow in really analyzing and critically thinking - the reading material was interesting He is funny and well respected take him!:)

Do not be discouraged when other students start thinking out loud and you you feel lost. Ask questions and he will clarify for you. Read all the assigned essays, they do help. Show up and take notes. Introduce your quotes on your papers and do not use contraction words. He cares about his students. Laugh at his jokes and he'll like you even more.

I had the pleasure of taking this class during winter, but I really wish I had taken this class during a full semester. Francev is amazing and really cares about his students. The assigned readings and essays were challenging, but he was willing to break everything down so we could understand. Bonus: he is funny and sarcastic so it makes class fun!

Prof. Francev made me work like no other Prof. has made me work. For the first time, I am confident about my writing skills. I looked forward to his lectures---he's funny, sarcastic and smart. I was completely impressed and grateful for the experience. He was also extremely helpful. Professors like him are rare.

By taking Professor Francevs class, I became more confident in my writing. Francev is helpful on peer review days. He offers the input that he expects and nothing more. The novels are challenging but after you here his lecture, you tend to grasp the concept. You will never be bored in his class. His sarcasm is through the roof but awesome. TAKE!!

I ended at Mr Francev class after dropping 1A twice. I didnt have much choice. He warned us about his class being tough but at that point I didnt have much choice. I loved his class so much that I came back for 1C. I wish I could take a different class only to learn more from him. Sleepless nights worth every second. Now a paper is no an issue.

I took Prof Francev for 2 English classes. He is a great professor that genuinely cares for his students. There were 3 novels we had to read but they were not too lengthy. He explains the novels very thoroughly and answers all questions. He cracks jokes, which make the class really fun and interesting. Please participate and you will have a blast!

After completing ENGL1A, 8-9 of us took him again for ENGL1C. He is that good. READ the books and you will be fine. He is wonderful at giving honest feedback. A 10 pg. paper and research---no longer scary for me, thanks to him. Every time I hear or read about Camus, I am grateful Prof. Francev introduced me to his work.

He is a cool teacher, I enjoyed going to the lectures. He made it pretty fun for it to be a class, some take that as a sign they dont have to do the work. Dont make that mistake, he is funny but not a pushover, do your work, put forth effort , ask questions if you are confused and you will definitely pass.

He helps break down the prompt for the essays, teaches writing mentality and gives sound advice towards organization in how one wants to approach their interpretation of the prompt. Completely over-analyzes the reading material to provide better understanding of the symbolic nuances. Take him because I said so. Or don't. Not like it matters.

All you have to do to get an A in this class is write like 3 essays, literally a free A; you don't even have to write that well. His class is completely based off of Albert Camus so getting sources from google scholar is mandatory.
