Dr. Francia is a really nice guy. If you go to your classes he notices and respects it plus it makes the class much easier. Look over your key terms in book for tests and do his study guide and you will do fine. He really loves what he does and knows what hes talking about

A good teacher who likes his job, and it shows in how he teaches the class. His tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class and rad the book. There is no attendence policy, but if you go to class, some days youll; get extra credit.

He is a really nice professor who seems to care about his students. He doesn't take attendence but it is really helpful to go to class. Plus on some days he gives you extra credit points for being there. I would recommend taking a class with this professor!

The class was interesting and Dr. Francia did a great job being nonpartisan. Took it during the election season, so we had lots of good talks and discussions. A nice guy with a good personality, combined with good teaching skills. Enjoyed the class. No attendance policy!

Helpful guy. Allows you to show him a paper before and tells you what he thinks. I really enjoyed the class. Can't tell where he stands politically, that's a great thing. If you have the chance take one of this classes, you won't be sorry.

Some people say he is boring because he does not the little, partisan hacks flap their gums on every discussion point. However, it is nice to see a professor who invokes an unbiased classroom for a change. Francia knows his stuff well and you can speak to him without condescension. For his tests, be sure to write thoroughly on the essay portion.

I love Dr. Francia. I would take his classes over and over again. He showed a lot of movies, but they were good movies. Tests were essay, but I got A's on all the tests and on the paper. I would recommend him to anyone. Not an easy A, but the material in class was so interesting, I had no trouble remembering it.

wonderful, wonderful man....best teacher in the dept. you learn on such an easy level but you take away more than you would with harder teachers in the dept. I def. think he is a democrat but you would never know for sure because he is the only poli sci teacher who doesnt' scream it from the roof tops.

The class was very interesting in itself, and his methods of teaching - meeting lectures with in-class documentary watching and discussions - made it quite simple. I'd recommend this to anyone in the Political Science Department as well as anyone interested in American History in general.

Dr. Francia is a pretty good prof. He does a good job of giving both sides of politics. Pretty understanding, very easy class if you pay attention and review notes before the test.

Dr. Francia is a wonderful professor! His lectures are interesting and his testing method fair. He doesnt show partisan toward one party or another.. but he'll tell you who he favors if you go to his office at the end of the semester.

This is my second class with Dr. Francia and I'm not even a Political Science major. I took this class bc it got great reviews. The class is really informative and I feel more educated on our country's past social movements now. He does a great job showing both sides of the political specturm. I would def take him again!

Dr. Francia is a wonderful professor he knows his material and expects you to know yours..you he doesn't show one side or the other on polical views either. his test are not easy but there not hard if you study either. go to class it helps your grade in the end..I deff thought I was gonna do bad in the class and pulled out with a B..awesome guy!!

Francia is a wonderful prof. I recommend him to anyone considering taking Political Science classes. I took him for Political Protest Movements (3050) and it was an amazing class. Not only was it easy to attend class, but it was enjoyable. He has a knack for teaching and it can be seen with the way he taught this class.

By far the best professor in the poly sci dpmt. I have had classes with Dr. Francia for the last two years and enjoyed every one of them. Though people tend to complain he is liberal I think he tries very hard to represent and teach from a neutral standpoint, I am conservative and enjoy his teaching. Read his ratings from upper level classes.

Awesome Professor. Enjoyed his class and learned a lot. Made an A, but had to work my ass off. He assigns a 15 page paper due at the end of the semester, but generally gives two pages of slack.

Protest & Social Movements class. By far my favorite professor. You do have to come to class, but we mostly watched videos & discussed them at the end. The only con of taking his class is he requires a lot of writing.5 pg essays on test & 15 pg research paper. But he doesnt grade too harshly & will help you.Great professor TAKE HIS CLASS.

Dr. Francia is the best, if took him for The American Executive and he was awesome. If you need a break from the teachers that to care, then take him, he truly loves his job and poly sci. Take him, go to class, you will do fine.

Dr. Francia is a great instructor. What he teaches he tests on, and though his exams can be challenging he offers ample time and materials to prepare. Expects much but offers much and wants to see students succeed. Helpful professor.

He knows what he is talking about and he keeps class interesting - not just full of lectures. He offers extra credit questions on his tests and even though material can be a little difficult, he provides a lot of resources. He won't test you on anything he didn't go over in class.

Most organized teacher ever! grades are usually back pretty quickly and he goes over them in class. Just come to class, take notes, do the study guide and you'll be fine.

Fantastic teacher who shows a lot of enthusiasm for the subject. His lessons are meticulously planned and organized. Tests are rather difficult but the material comes directly from the notes and the in-class discussion. A bit late on returning graded assignments and seems to have a very busy life outside of being a professor.

He is a GREAT professor. He loves teaching and loves what he teaches. He is very knowledgeable in government. His test can be VERY hard, but if you ask him for help and study you can easily pass his class. He is by far one of the best professors I have had at ECU.

Great professor. 4 Grades total: Midterm, Final, Paper and Attendance. He gives you a choice on two papers you can do the first or the second, or both and take the higher grade. Such a great professor and I enjoyed the class. You definitely need textbook though and study for exams!! Watched movies in class, easy A if you put in effort for papers.

Awesome professor! I have taken him multiple times! Make sure you go to class- participation grade will hurt you in the end if you don't go. Attendance is mandatory! Don't need to take notes- he puts all his powerpoints online and gives you a study guide! I recommend him for any class!

Dr. Francis has been one of my favorite professors. Politics through film is a very easy to understand class. All classes with Dr. Francia are structured to be easily understood and are very well taught. His class discussion style is very insightful and I would highly recommend his class.

Dr. Francia is my favorite professor! He will try his hardest to make the lectures as fun as possible. He'll make you laugh and be engaged in what he's saying. If you are taking this class as just an elective and have no interest in political science, I would not recommend this class for you. Francia is a nice guy but you really have to work for your grade. The only grades in the class are 4 tests and attendance. So if you are not a good test taker, I would not recommend this class for you either.

Attendance is 20% of the grade, as much as an exam. GO TO CLASS. An A for an attendance grade will really boost your grade. Francia is the best professor I've had so far at ECU. Dr. Francia is passionate about what he teaches and you can see it throughout his lectures. He loves incorporating videos in his lectures. There's always to types of exams on full multiple choice and one half multiple choice and then an essay, but its up to you which on you take. Will definitely take him again.

Dr. Francia and 1010 Intro to National Government was such an awesome class that I became a POLS major. He is truly insightful, interesting lecturer and will make you earn your grade (it's a good thing). One of the bright spots on my ECU experience was the multiple classes I was able to take with Dr. Francia.

I'm so glad I was able to have Francia as a professor! His class is lecture heavy and attendance is mandatory. Your attendance grade could possibly make or break you. If you study the notes and do the study guides you will do just fine. His tests are cumulative so that helps and we only get 3-4 a semester. Francia didn't give us homework.

I LOVED Dr Francia. He's taught the class for 10+ years but he's still super energetic & cares. We had the 4 cumulative exams + attendance for our overall grade so if you show up & take notes & review before the tests, you should be good to go! It felt like a lot of vocab but Francia makes sure to connect the terms with stories to remember easier.

Great teacher, he really knows the course. Show up to class and listen and you will do well. Attendance counts and you will get a 100% as a test grade if you have attended every class, I did and it really brought up my grade at the end of the semester. Attendance is 20% of your final grade.

Awesome professor; genuinely cares about his students and their success. Final grade was only based on attendance and in-class tests, so scoring well on these difficult tests is essential.

Francia was one of my first and favourite professors at ECU. He was very passionate with his teachings and took time to help me during office hours. His lectures were very interactive and his semester outline was very clear and manageable. Overall a great guy and good class.

All you really need to do to pass is to show up to class and pay attention to his lectures. It's pretty easy to pay attention too; he makes the lectures pretty interesting and easy to understand. And study for the tests. Easy material that you need to review.

By far the best professor I have had thus far in college. I'm not a political science major, but this man taught me so much. Attendance is mandatory, and if you show up it's an easy A. He expects you to read the chapters and take notes during class, and if you do that you'll be just fine. He's more than willing to work with students.

I loved Francias class and the only grades we had were 3 tests, the final, and attendance. The first two tests I made a 100 & 104 simply by rewriting my notes and reading the powerpoints (i never needed my book) by the end i got lazy and stopped showing up and didnt study for the final so thats why i ended up with a B. But loved his class.

Hard test. Only grades are test and attendance quiz. Must go every class. Loves talking to students in his office and is very willing to help students and do anything he can for his students to succeed.

Also he allows you to go to his office and look over your test I highly recommend since his test are cumulative each time

literally no homework, just 4 tests that are exactly the study guide. do the study guides and GO TO CLASS, and you'll get an A. He makes the class very bearable because he really cares about what he's teaching. he's very loud and attendance counts as another test grade at the end of the semester.

Only grades are test and attendance, his lectures are amazing and he loves particpation. All powerpoints are online, and he works really hard to make his class interesting. Had this class a late time so I ended up missing a lot of class but still did well. You can also replace the lowest test with a paper. Great teacher, wants you to pass.

Dr. Francia truly wants his students to succeed and is one of those professors that genuinely make you want to learn. He is always extremely enthusiastic and I have never met a professor that appears to truly love what they do as much as he does. This class is sooo easy. He recommends that you get this huge collection of readings but don't, it's expensive and unnecessary. You don't have to read Rules for Radicals either. He's super passionate so as long as you do your homework and show up to class, you 'll get an A. Take this instead of Intro to Political Theory for an easy POLS pre-req.

Dr. Francia is phenomenal at his job. He's an engaging professor and is passionate about what his subject (and he uses a powerpoint!)! Tests are not hard if you pay attention in class and review your notes. You can replace your lowest test grade if you write an optional paper. Show up to class to get a good attendance grade. Dr. Peter Francia is the physical embodiment of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. His lectures are superb and he does a great job at keeping the entire class engaged. Every question on his tests can be answered from his PowerPoint slides so I highly recommend attending class. He even gives you th option of replacing your lowest test score. TAKE IT!

While I have positively reviewed profs before, if theres a single prof that deserves the title of a real gem, its Francia. Ive taken 6 classes with him for a reason, 3050 my fave. He is the most enthusiastic prof that Ive ever met & clearly loves what he does. He is not only ECUs best prof, but one of the best people I have ever come across.

I respect Professor Francia. He had solid choices on his quizzes. I would recommend him to anyone to take his political courses. He have insights on what should be on the test and make sure to look at the films to know what descriptions are telling you. Subtitles work if its in a different language.

I loved everything about this class and learned a lot! Francia provides great lectures and lecture notes which made it super easy to study. You will have quizzes, tests and then weekly Packbacks. Make sure you do the Packbacks.. they're actually fairly interesting and will help on tests!

Works well with students who communicate. credit is granted sometimes for showing up to class and through the textbook on sage vantag. grading is based on tests extra credit is points added onto the test. He goes back and edits the PowerPoints after class to keep them updated, gives really good lectures to help you understand the material in class.

Dr. Francia is a great professor in the POLI SCI department at ECU. His class is lecture based, but he isn't a typical, boring lecturer. He can go on for a long time sometimes, but ultimately he keeps the lectures interesting. He engages the class in questions and discussions occasionally as well. The class is exam based so show up to lectures!

He was the best professor Ive had so far and Im a polisci major. I was sick for half on the semester and he genuinely cares about his students. His lectures are very important, but he does upload everything to canvas. We had about 3-4 tests and those were the only grades + attendance so definitely study for this class and show up!

Great professor for LDSP 1000. If you attend his lectures you'll do fine. The textbook assignments are optional but he'll give you extra credit at the end of the semester if you complete them.

During my time at ECU, I heard many positive things about Dr. Francia. None of these reviews come close to describing how great I found him to be. Very accessible, very knowledgeable, very energetic, and always fascinated by his students, Dr. Francia is a professor worth taking!

I took this class because I was interested in Congress and I'm glad I did. Francia is awesome and he cares about his students. He is so easy to get along with and ENJOYS talking to us. Only 4 tests and attendance but lecture comes straight from the textbook. If you go to class and take notes you should be fine. All around cool dude. Take him!

Francia is truly the best professor I have ever had. He is so passionate, and his passion makes his class incredibly engaging. A 1.25-hour class feels like 30 minutes. He is very reasonable with grading and offers opportunities for extra credit points on exams.
