He's a great teacher, always willing to help when you need it. He makes class fun and not a bore. Great teacher and I would forsure say take his class. Doesnt take attendence either. So were actually treated like adults in his class. By the way he makes math clear to understand.... Good Teacher!

Mr. Gits is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very easy-going, funny, and encouraging. He doesn't have a super ego like many mathematicians do. He saw that I was really working hard and helped me out at the end of the semester, and I will forever be grateful to him for that. He is an awesome professor.

I can't do math to save my life and I got into Gits' class on accident...I am extremely glad. He's super nice, extremely helpful, funny, friendly, patient...I could go on with compliments. He makes math understandable! Take him if you can!

Gits is GREAT! He is really understanding and helpful! He doesn't expect you to be exact in answers.He is pretty lenient with grading. As long as you have the idea to a problem, he'll give you a few points. One BAD thing is you are only graded on your tests. If you are a good test taker..this is good.. no extra credit, no homework, no attendance.

Peter is an awesome instructor. He's clear in his instructions and descriptions. He is easy to talk to and is always willing to help and answer questions. If you have the availability, you should definetly take this class with Peter.

Easy class if you know the basics of math. boring if you do since everyone asks stupid homework questions that are way to easy. do not really need the book if you know what your doing. Homework isn't collected so there is no point in doing it! i recommend taking class with him if you want an easy A

Lectures are as lively as they can be for math topics - interesting, clear, thorough, almost fun. Super cute guy - lots of personality. Apparently others agree, because he's got a hot pepper next to his rating. Seriously, though, he's a very helpful teacher. And, while there's tons of homework, tests are fair.

He has a dry sense of humor and he knows statistics. I liked that he's more interested in testing our ability to apply what we've learned vs. testing our ability to memorize things. Gave background theory which I found interesting and informative. Not always receptive to homework questions in class.

Very good teacher. Go to class and take notes, he tells you exactly what you need to know to do well on the only 4 exams you will have. 95% and up for an A. You pretty much have to be perfect, but rightfully so in medical dosages, if your wrong you could kill a person.

Cool Professor! Lectures are presented in a relaxed athmosphere. Memorizing formulas is kept to a minimum and understanding the concepts behind those formulas are clearly taught. Tests asks two questions: do you know the materials or do you not, no trick questions. Grading of tests is reasonable. Teaches from the Students' perspective.

Lectures are nice and clear, and the tests? are fair. When it came to tests? its based solely on lectures. There are no trick question on tests, either, like some other teachers be pulling off. I would definitely take him again. Cool dude.

This teacher is very open minded. He works with your schedule but only goes by test scores, so if your not there, you best know your homework for the test!

We did a lot of example problems in class, so that was good practice for the tests. The homework was all optional, so the only grade was from tests. He is easy to understand. Sometimes, it felt like the class was going too slowly, but in retrospect I think it helped me to learn the material better this way.

He is a thorough math teacher. The only reason I didn't get an A in this class is because I never did my homework and I would not listen to his lectures if I attended his class. If you listen in class and do your homework, I'm almost postive you'll get an A. Just deal with the fact you have to take math and get it over with. Good luck. :)

Very good instructor. Is very helpful, and will take the time to help out of class if need be. I took the class for review and he noted for me to stop thinking college algebra and think more intermediate algebra because i would get the easy questions wrong, the hard questions right. Highly recommend.

He's a great teacher, and very funny! Attendance not required, but it's on you if you miss and don't understand. Homework assigned every night, which is optional to do, but if you don't, you'll struggle. He kinda makes it like, the grade you get only reflects what you put into it. He is a very funny teacher and he knows how to teach the class well. The tests are not very hard and with his teaching skills I was able to learn a lot and easily keep up with everything. I highly suggest taking this teacher. If you love funny teachers that can teach, he is your man.

One of my favorite teacher at Century. Homeworks aren't mandatory nor is attendance. Every week I miss at least 2 days class and still pass with a B. I miss 50% of class lectures but overall anyone can ace it if they attend everyday or just do the homework. Doesn't have the greatest sense of humor but still the coolest teacher! =)

Retired engineer teaching for fun. Very easy, awesome humor. Grades on 4 exams. Given a cheat sheet for each exam; you can type all the notes on it. No homework, don't buy the book. Records all lectures and puts them online, don't really need to attend class.

He's very outgoing and makes class fun. His teaching is very clear and is easy to understand. I took a hybrid class w/ lectures online and it was great! I wish all classes were like this.

Peter Gits is one of the best overall instructors I have had so far. I'm an adult student that took his hybrid class, a format I highly recommend. His online lectures are superb and he was extremely helpful in class; can really help you nail down the basics. Excellent sense of humor. If you're crabbing about this guy you seriously need to grow up.

Mr. Gits is probably the greatest professor that has ever been kind enough to grace Century with his presence! One a serious note he is able to break down complex topics and express them in a simple, clear way. He tends to elaborate on far more advanced topics but as an engineer he definitely made the class more enticing than just math. Great man!

All of his lectures are posted on his blog for you to review when you have time. The are very well done and he teaches by doing examples.

Took the hybrid course of MATH30. He was very helpful and flexible. Class times were for asking questions and he had his lectures online. You learn by examples. Best teacher I have ever had for math. I struggle with math but was able to get it with his way of teaching. He is funny too. Very knowledgable.

I took him for a math boot camp thing so I could get another ticket for the accuplacer. I improved into the next level of math after taking his bootcamp. Great guy outspoken tells story its not all cut and dry in his courses. Loved to go over stuff and answer questions. He's a character the type of man that doesn't exist today a real Dinosaur.

I showed up to class maybe once a week because I didnt have a relaible ride out to Century. He was completely understanding and helpful and I wish I could have him as a Professor again, he's a great guy overall!

from the beginning, I didn't have any interest in math and wasn't good at math either but taking Mr. Gits changed my perspective about math. There are times he tend to joke around to make the class more fun, and he may slightly get off topic but his teaching is... GREAT! I would recommend him to students.

His tests are handwritten by him and you move at a good pace for each section. If you have a question he makes sure that you understand the answer! I loved his personality. Very laid back and easy to talk to. Goes over problems in class but also has lectures with video available online that help you walk through problems outside of class. Very fair grader. If you have questions about the homework, he will walk through them in class with you. I hope to take more classes with him.

He puts all of his lectures online and they are very helpful. You have to be self-motivated because his Calculus I class grade is based off of solely tests. Peter is a great instructor, I recommend him.

His lectures are all online, and he goes over his lectures in class. There are no quizzes and his exams are very direct. Pay attention to lectures and study from the study guide and you'll pass.

I took a partially online version with him. I found the online lectures to be very informative, well laid-out, and easy to understand. His in-class teaching style is engaging, effective, and fun. He is very approachable. He teaches in a way that makes the subject easy to grasp. I would even hold out to take the class with him when available.

I highly suggest this professor! Especially if math isn't your best (or you just straight up hate it). He will take questions from the homework (that isn't handed in or graded) and walk through them to make sure you get it. Attendance isn't taken but show up, he'll tell you exactly what's on tests and helpful tips. He's super cool and a genius!

Peter Gits is probably the most chill math teacher ever. Although all his lectures were online, he also goes over it during class time (sometimes) When we met it is usually homework questions. Also I didn't attend class much, but I did all the homework. DO THE HOMEWORK!HELPS ALOT. I only went to class on the sections I was confused on. RECOMMEND!

I always enjoyed showing up to his class, I was an early morning student and his class was enjoyable even though I was tired. He's a nice guy and he's very willing to help, but (at least if you're taking MATH 1081) he grades the entire class based on 4 tests and nothing else, and he's picky about your answers. Don't forget your units!

He was really nice and doesn't judge or get annoyed if you ask questions. Even though it was a beginner math class, I enjoyed it. To me, he kind of talked a lot but he cared if people understood it or not. His practice tests were literally the actual test but with diff #'s. I took him online and he graded you solely on six tests. I did really good on some and not so hot on others and ultimately walked away from his class with a C. He's really good about feedback and if you really think you deserve it just email or talk to him and he's more then willing to discuss returning you a few points. Just don't be commutative!

I took 1082 as a hybrid class. His lectures are all online, so you don't really need to go to class other than for exams, but I'd recommend showing up because he's HILARIOUS. He's a really good guy and is willing to help if you're struggling. No assignments, your grade is completely dependent on exams. He tells you what to expect on them, though.

He is chill, gives easy tests, and is really good at explaining the course material.

He is great at explaining confusing topics and I thought his tests were pretty easy. The grade is made up of 6 non-cumulative tests which can be a little stressful but you have three hours to complete each one. Meetings are asynchronous.

I had a great experience taking this class online. He was always available to answer my questions, and if not he would give me a time for him as to how soon he could get back to me. His lectures were pre-recorded and were extremely helpful. He always gives plenty of examples, which proved helpful to me after a 10-year gap between math courses.
