He is an excellent teacher. However, I would not recommend taking MAT101 or MAT102 in the summer because it is a lot of information. There is a lot of work, but if you do the homeword and study you shouldn't have a problem!:)

absolutely loved him!!!!!! most hilarious man i have ever met! he makes the material fun and interesting. just do the homework so you are prepared with questions the next class. if you show up and do the homework you'll be fine.

I hated math before i had this class. Now i have an A average. He is the first math teacher to really help me understand the concepts. He is funny,helpful, and really wants his students to do well. Definitly the best math teacher i have ever had! I highly recommend him.

I did well in this class, but had to study and do all my work..also gets mad when u miss class...tries to hard to be funny..overall not a bad teacher esp. for a subject like math..only thing is be prepared for tons of homework!!!

Not a bad teacher. Lots of HW and his tests are on the hard side. Lots of study time need for this class. He's a nice guy and likes to see people do well in his class, but didn't do much to help in that area for me. So I would say, good teacher, but hard class.

He was a nice guy. I worked hard in his class and got a B, but I'm not good at math.

Had Dr. Glidden as an undergrad. I was part of the first group of Elem Math Minors to go through WCU. Therefore, I had him at least 3 times while I was there. I found him to be one of the best Math teachers I've ever had. He is hard, but he is fair. Do the work and it will pay off. Thanks Dr. Glidden.

Great, fair, clear, thorough professor. Highest reccommendation. He know's his stuff and helps students learn and understand material. Great class.

I really liked Glidden! Yeah, he makes fun of students but he also makes fun of himself. I think he is a real funny guy. Math is my worst subject. I literally have struggled in it since elementary school. Study for the tests to do well and you'll be fine. I never ever used the book even though hw is assigned.

Glidden is a great teacher if you do your part in being a student and come to class prepaired. He really Helps you understand the material thoroughly. Like the class is supposed to do. If you cant do/understand basic math, you shouldn't be able to teach it to children. So he weeds those uncapable students out.

one of the best teachers and classes ive had at west chester yet, easy to understand, straight forward and tells it like it is..quick quizzes before most classes and the tests were really easy if you studied, wants to help you become a better teacher

What a great prof! Really keeps the class interesting, you need to be a part of the class, not just a fly on the wall. If you can't get an easy A in this class you probably shouldn't be a teacher.

Glidden is awesome. He keeps class interesting. He does "quick quizzes" every class and drops your 2 lowest grades. If you do the homework there is no reason to not get a 5/5 on them. The test are basically the quick quizzes with different numbers. The test are straight foward. I reccomend taking him for any math he teaches!

He's awesome. Keeps class interesting and cracks jokes at people so have a good sense of humor. He always has quick quizzes in the beginning of each class but they help you out so much and hes always willing to stop what he's doing to help anyone. definitely take him, you'll love him!

I truly love this guy. He's very helpful and really funny. I didn't do well in the class, because I'm horrible at math. Everyone else did pretty well. Take him !!

Math for teachers: Best teacher ever. Quick quizzes almost daily (They help!) When reviewing for test/exam - Just look over the quizzes!!! All the same info. He will always help! Work is on helpful powerpoint slides that you can print out. He can be pretty funny. And hes very good at helping people understand the information. TAKE HIM!

Best math professor i've had at wcu! All his notes are on powerpoints and he gives daily quick quizzes that are super helpful when preparing for tests. Even though the tests are a bit difficult, by the end of the year I was able to ace the final because he really covers the material well. He's funny and very helpful, take him if you can!

He is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He gives quick quizzes every day that help boost your grade and help when studying for his tests. He explains very well and has a great personality

Really Recommend. He wants you to succeed. Really clear and shows you great alternative ways to teach math. You use a lot of hands on activities. not much homework and what is for homework is so easy it takes like 5 minutes. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class and study the quick quizzes. He has a quick quiz everyday and they help a lot

I love this teacher! He is such a sweetheart! He loves when you asks questions and answers them very thoroughly. I feel that he really prepares you for elementary teaching for the future. Pretty easy if you understand the material when he is going over it, if not make sure you ask because you do not want to fall behind because it moves pretty fast.

Professor Glidden was very helpful and definitely wants you to do well. He does not always explain things clearly but will try various methods if you express misunderstanding. There is a quiz or a few everyday but if you do the homework and review you should be fine.

Honestly one of the better math professors at WCU. He's very helpful and really tries his best to get his students to understand. Has daily quizzes that are what we learned in the class before, and they're not that difficult. Tests are all multiple choice and not too difficult if you study his study guides. I recommend taking him.

Glidden is pretty clear when he teaches and gives decent notes to print out. He gives a 5 question quiz just about every class so it's a good idea to show up, but the quiz questions are pretty much what he puts on his exams. He tries to get everyone to participate in class to make sure every Overall the course isn't bad and he's a pretty nice guy.

Glidden is a nice guy. He gives quick quizzes basically every day so you can't skip this class. There are three 1hour exams and a final. If you use the quick quizzes to study for the tests and the tests to study for the final and show up to class you'll be set. If you have trouble, see him during his office hours. He's always there and will help u

A great guy! He can sometimes be a little flustered in class, but it's only because he wants to explain the subject as well as he possibly can. He's funny and definitely helpful. If you put the work in, you'll be fine. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK OR MYSTATLAB. You don't need them (even if he says you do). I never even opened mine and still did well.

Glidden is the man. He makes statistics fun. The material is easy to understand if you pay attention. He has quick quizzes every day to make sure you understand the material, which really helped on the tests.

Took this as my only summer class and spent LOTS of time on it. Loads of work. Be prepared to put in 20+ hours a week for one class.

Love, love, love this professor. His class is an act of violence that will absolutely make you a better educator, but you have to work for it. Most of your grade are tests, which is unfortunate for me (a poor test-taker). But with some extra hours of studying, you can pull it off. He's understanding, funny, and knowledgeable.

I LOVE Dr. Glidden! His tests are difficult, but with a few extra hours of studying, you can pull it off. I got all A's on the tests including the final when I am not great at math or test-taking. Print out the practice problems he posts and keep doing them until you master the material. Trust me, It will help you a lot.

I really enjoyed Dr. Glidden. He made class really enjoyable with his dry humor and taught the material well. There's an assignment due per class, but the assignments were all relevant and helped me with exams. Exams were challenging but manageable and reasonable. He prepares you for the exams, and he really helped me understand algebra. Great guy!

Love this guy, very corny, makes a lot of jokes and makes class fun. If you dont study for exams you are toast. But if you study like 2 days before the exam and do the hw you are chillin

3 tests and the final make up 90% of your grade. He does not provide a study guide, so the tests can be challenging. Love/hate relationship. He wasn't terrible but I think I got used to the new mission teachers that provide other opportunities to improve your grade.

Very funny guy. I have always struggled in math. I had began to fall behind I would recommend office hours which are very helpful. I was getting like c and ds and i improved a lot by asking clarifying questions. Dont be afraid to ask him questions

Professor Glidden is great! He is very funny and also upfront with his students. He seems very passionate about math. He is great at teaching and explaining concepts. I did not have any trouble with the tests because they are directly from the homework that he gives you. He wants all of his students to succeed and do well. I would recommend him!

Professor Glidden is great! He jokes a lot in class and I really enjoyed his teaching methods. He loves the classes feedback and makes sure everyone understands a topic before moving on. His test questions were harder than the examples we did in class, but he taught concepts so well that I was able to work through the test and preform well on them.

Dr. Glidden is great, the class is lecture heavy but it is a math class so understandably. He's very understanding with grading and is always willing to help his students who are struggling, although he doesn't post grades online. He often jokes in class and is very personable. Pay attention to his lectures, take notes, review, and you'll be fine.

He moves fast through topics but tests contain everything he gives in study guides. Most of the time he will tell you if certain questions are on the test or not. I'd recommend going to every class or you'll fall behind, and push yourself with doing the online home works and asking him questions about them.

This man is my absolute idol, but many people say they do not like his teaching style. He's super sweet and makes a lot of grandpa jokes, but if you don't understand his own teaching style, good luck. He cares about his students a lot though and wants them to succeed. He curved the final grade. Take him though he's my king.
