he goes by the book u read it take note try to put in the little thing on the review on the test you'll pass 3 test 1 paper
Very intelligent, progressive and learned man. Basically reads the book to you, but if you show up you'll learn twice the material than if you just read the text. He is easily approachable and eager to help students understand course material, offering his office hours to speak one-on-one with students.
Very interesting class! Be prepared to read a lot, but you are given enough time to complete the readings. The class is very student-friendly, in that you may work at your own pace. Attendence is not mandatory which is nice if you understand the material. Han is easy going and easy to work with. Highly recommended
Mr.Han is a great teacher. He speaks very well and will help you anytime you have any questions. When he taught philosophy he explained the subject very well with contemporary examples. This man knows exactly what hes talking about and tries his best to keep you engaged. If I could I would definitely take another class with him again.
Do NOT take Burke. Peter Han is an awesome prof. Attendance not mandatory- but his lectures are so interesting you'll go anyway. Its not hard either.
Lectures weren't mandatory, but they were interesting and helpful for test questions. Loved the textbooks & am keeping them forever! He's very unbiased as well, which I liked.
I had no interest in Ethics until I took his class. This Prof. knows his stuff and never takes a side or gives his opinion. It's really up to you if you pass or fail...do your assignments and read and you will be ok. He is very cool!
I don't think it was the prof. fault but I just did not understand the material. He's a cool guy tho. He lectures the entire time and you can't even really take notes, which gets boring. But you really have to read and the makeup assignments he offers saved me.
I thought that Han was a cool guy, but he does not give any breaks in a three hour class, which I think is completely unfair. And this also makes him seem like he doesn't care if you're even listening..after all our brains can only concentrate fully for like an hour right? So..I dont get it.
Good teacher, alot of reading but it helps, lectures are kind of boring, a LOT of work to do but if you ask for help after class he is happy to sit and talk to you about the things you dont understand. i recomend him, but be ready to do work.
Syllabus is confusing.Tons of papers to do.Excessive emails like disaster. He never post the grade on D2L at all.
I took him for Philosophy & then ethics. Peter is an good teacher & cool person. I think some complaints on here were written because many community college students aren't accustomed to taking legitimate college level courses. Sure, classes are challenging-however this guy couldn't cater to his students more. Great teacher. I highly recommend him.
Only 3 tests and one paper = the whole grade. Our first exam was two months into the course. Hard to take notes on lectures. Was always late, every time. Syllabus is confusing and changed halfway through the class. Very, VERY, loose structure. Treat as an independent study class and take responsibility for learning the material and you'll be okay.
Great professor and very helpful. If you don't understand material he will stay after class or schedule time with you for personal help. He stayed two hours after class with me discussing the philosophical ideals of Kant beyond class material.I still email him for reference material for papers in other classes.Great guy and very unbiased.
He's a good teacher. The material is tough and you can't b.s. it. At all. You have to work for it, but if you show interest and initiative, this instructor is going to help you succeed. He's funny and blatantly honest. He's a trip. Really a unique classroom experience. Take Peter Han's class.
Book is extremely helpful, however lectures can clear up confusion from the difficult reads. Email responses are usually prompt he is very helpful and smart. You have to work for a good grade but it is defiantly possible. Quite a bit of work and effort needed.
This class was so easy. You have 3 test worth 20 points, 2 case studies worth 40 points. Up to 2 optional papers that replace 2 test scores. Even if you fail all three test, you can still get an A in the class. Highly recommend him. Easy A and that's not B.S
Be prepared to read a lot and write extensively for the online course. Despite the extra workload it would highly recommend this class and this instructor. Peter takes the time to meet with you and explain the material if you have any questions. You must do the work to receive a good grade. You're given ample time to finish assignments.
Kinda wish washy about how he taught and the subject was hard to understand if no prior knowledge. I personally would not take him again.
Professor Han is great! He is very helpful, and he constructed this class in a way so that everyone can pass it. If you'd complete all of the assignments, your final grade won't be lower than a B. At first, I found this class difficult, but thanks to the professor's help, this subject became understandable and interesting. Highly recommended.
Great professor! You can tell he is very passionate about teaching. Explains subjects/topics with excellent detail. Very clear on what is expected of you and gives you plenty of time to finish work. I wish more professors were like him.
I actually didn't have a problem with him until mid semester. I forgot to cite a quote in my paper(my fault entirely), but his email informing me was really rude. When I tried to speak with him about it he didn't reply to emails. It really annoyed me because I had the highest quiz grades, and attended class so it's not like I was blowing off class
Excellent instructor. Makes class interesting. Definitely worth taking.
Dr. Han is a quality teacher. He has a very well-rounded teaching approach and is great at explaining difficult material to make it understandable. He takes pride in his teaching abilities and is consistent with responding to emails quickly if one has a question about the course or their grade. Overall, he made the course enjoyable and doable.
Philosophy is difficult as is, however professor Han explains the material in an understandable way. He is also approachable & will provide further assistance if needed. I was not a fan of his grading system though. Only gives 100 points for the whole course which is unfair in my opinion. Be prepared to work for your grade & for difficult readings
I will definitely recommend this instructor. He is really good at what he does, and he gives really great feedback. Take his class! You will be glad you did.
Professor Peter Han is an awesome Ethics/Philosophy teacher. You have to work hard to earn a good grade in his class. As long you follow the material you will do fine. He gives you optional papers I recommend you used them if you want to pass his class. Exams are difficult. Read the books and go to class you will pass. Plus he is a hot teacher!!
Peter was earning his Master's while teaching my Ethics course, so often he would arrive to class late. He has a congenial personality and was very excited about the material, but was not particularly organized in his presentation of the class. Attendance was optional, there were few papers, and he graded them quite easily.
Dr. Han was a great professor. Took him for a summer ethics class and made learning enjoyable. He's younger, so he's relatable and has a passion for his teachings. Bases his class on a 100 point system. 2 tests, 25 pts each. 6 quizzes and 6 case studies but only counts the best 5, each 5 pts. Buy the book, and take really good notes of the readings
This guy's a boss.
The material for this class is extremely complex and very hard to understand because it is straight from the philosopher. Peter is pretty lenient with grading as long as you truly demonstrate you are trying. Discussion posts due weekly as well as a reflection on two readings OR a case study reflection. Also there are two tests which are essays.
Very funny. Has long lectures but they are very informative and fun to be involved with. Very caring and patient. Overall the best teacher i have had at this school.
At first I thought I would dislike ethics but Peter made the class something to look forward to. He is a really entertaining guy and very inspirational.
Ethics is a complex course, and having him teach it was the best decision. He gets you interested in the subject and makes it fun to learn. If you decide not to go to class you will be given the option for other harder things to do. Best bet is to show up, participate and take notes. If you have questions ASK! He's young, cute , and funny!
Great class, great reading selections. I never really felt a draw towards philosophy, but the assignments were interesting and engaging. Definitely a little challenging to understand, but its worth the work. Dr. Han provides great feedback and model papers to help keep you on track if you need it.
Definitely the best professor I've had at ECC! He makes all of his lectures very entertaining and he knows his stuff. I always look forward to going to class and he makes sure that his students understand all of the content.
I took his mythology class. This was the first time he taught it. Majority of the course was people giving presentations with a reading based quiz every three classes (HARD). At the end we watched a cool tv series. Class drags a little. He's nice but acts more like another student than a teacher. Grade based off 100pts which makes the class harder.
Very nice guy, the course is a lot of reading. great lectures, just make sure you put in the work and you will pass
One of the best professors I've ever had at ECC. He makes class so interesting and I definitely have grown to love philosophy because of him. You do have to read a short passage from the book before each class but they are easy to read. He gives out a ton of extra credit opportunities. Mid term and final are a piece of take cake. Would take again!!
Professor Han knows a lot, and wants to share all of his knowledge. The readings are pretty difficult and the next class you have a 3 point quiz on the reading you had for homework. It's only after the quiz where he then explains the reading so if you didn't understand the reading before he explains it, you probably won't get the full 3 points.
Peter Han is a great professor that I would reccomend. I took him for a summer class for an ethics requirement, and although it was a lot of work (Mostly writting papers), I think the assignements were fair and not terribly hard. If you follow the requirements and make an effort you should do fine in the class.
Mr. Han is a great professor and makes Philosophy an enjoyable class. The class itself is a little hard, but overall not super hard material. There aren't too many assignments for the class. The lectures/readings are interesting. Overall just a fun class that I enjoyed.
His bark is worse than his bite. In the beginning youll feel as if youre dealing with a very intimidating conservative but, as you progress in the semester youll realize hes really a nice guy. Hes understanding but wont let you take advantage of this. Overall, Professor Han was a sweet individual.
He is a great professor. He grades out of a 100pts. 60pts are from group discussion which is what you need to focus on. There are 3 papers, 10pts each, and he only counts the midterm or the final. You need to show you are think deep in the posts. He also gives out a lot of extra credit. So long as you try and put in the effort, you'll get an A.
One of the more consistent classes i've taken. There's stuff due every week and they are crucial to your grade. If you aren't independent or a critical thinker you probably won't want to take this class. He is also a name caller if that's something you hate. He's very particular but still a good guy with a great class setup. He knows his ish.
Mr. Han is a really nice and intelligent guy, although he can come off as a bit aloof and intellectually arrogant. Every week there is a quiz on an assigned reading and a group discussion on the next day so attendance is mandatory. Focuses a bit too much on making the course challenging so it's very hard to get an A. Good lectures and funny though.
Dr. Han is the professor who you will likely remember long after the course. He is very inspirational and will grow your thought processes exponentially throughout the course. He effectively develops everyone in the class as students and is absolutely necessary to maximize the quality of your education.
This was my second semester having Dr. Han as my professor, the first time being Philosophy and this semester Asian Philosophy. Dr. Han is a great Professor overall. He gives great lectures that really make you think about the material at hand. Some of the readings may be difficult but the lectures really clear up any confusion.
Hans lectures breaks down philosophy, so its very easy to understand. He is also very funny, and makes class discussions fun. I had a very tough semester, but he was very understanding and caring. Hes a great teacher.
Peter is incredibly smart. He is very knowledgeable. The class usually starts off with a quiz then is a long discussion. It is not a lecture, everyone has the option of pitching in their own ideas which were really interesting. I recommend HUM110 to anyone even if it won't count for their degree. I highly recommend this class.
I would recommend taking him but just beware, the class only have a total of 100 points possible. So if you miss class frequently itll be hard for you to get a good grade. There is a quiz almost everyday on the readings that is used as attendance points. Also your reflections are graded by other students in class which I didnt like.
I took this class as a one day a week class. I think it may have been easier if I had been in class twice a week, but I was not. Attending wasnt taken for a grade, but was needed if wanting to pass. He lectured the whole class, and involved the students talking little to none. A lot of his assignments were vague. Would never consider taking again.
10/10 recommend Han's ethics class. He's been by far been my favorite prof at ECC. His lectures are interesting, he is caring, cool, and professional. You can tell he likes his job &wants his students to understand & succeed. I can go on about how amazing Han is!! You do have to work like any class, but if you show up&do your work you'll be fine.
Best prof at ECC. be prepared to do group work, so choose wisely. if you do your homework and go to class, chances are you'll get a good grade. Han is smart and will help you understand (if you ask for help). The class consists of lectures, quiz every class based on the homework, and watching videos. I would take it again if I could!
Dr. Han is one of the best Professors I have had. His lectures are really interesting and go by really fast. The class is an easy A as long as you put in the effort. It is all points based so you get to choose which assignments you want to do based off of the grade you want. Some of the texts are difficult but overall very interesting.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR his class is extremely hard for no reason. He gives out very minimal points for such a heavy workload.. I BEG YOU TAKE SOMEONE ELSE
After reading all these reviews I was not only looking forward to this class, but along with the professor. I was highly disappointed, he gives very minimal points for very large assignments and papers. One of the world's toughest graders along with expecting so much in so little time for huge projects.
Has good intentions at first but as the class goes on it gets very difficult. Gives the bare minimum for points when it comes to papers. The way he wants certain papers is a waste of time. Wants his papers to be so long. Super nit-picky with his grading. When doing video discussions with your group good luck because it's impossible to get 100.
This semester I took both Comparative Religions and Intro to Philosophy with Dr. Han. He kept the semester interesting and is definitely invested in the work his students do. If you ever have questions about the course, the emails back are almost instant. Also, it's possible to finish the class a little early if you like to work ahead.
I really enjoyed taking this class with Professor Han, I feel like Professor Han was the first teacher of mine that thought on a deeper level. You can tell that his teachings were genuine and he wasn't just teaching to get a pay check. I found Professor Han very relatable which I can't say for most teachers.
Professor Han is a great teacher. The best part of this course is that he is not biased about a certain thing like many teachers. I wouldn't change anything about any of the courses he teaches considering I've taken almost all of them. Grade's fair, as long as you put in effort on your end. Very understanding as well! 10/10 reccommend.
Professor Han is an amazing professor. I really liked the interactive nature of his lectures. The way he structured the class allowed every student to succeed regardless, of their schedules (essentially you choose the assignments you want to turn in).
Loved the class & the setup-- the only thing I didn't like were announcements in audio format. Prof is nice, fair, & considerate. Although all the assignments are optional, one would have to do a solid most/all of them to get a good grade. Content was varied. You'll get a good grade as long as you put in the effort. Online & asynchronous course
Prof Han has a great way of grading the course, giving you options to fit homework to the style that works best for you. The homework is not busy work just to prove that you're participating. His lectures are fun and really explain the theories. I would highly recommend Dr. Han.
Dr. Han clearly laid out what was needed in order to get the grade that you wanted. I liked that it was all at your own pace. The lectures and videos linked to the assignments were thoughtful and I learned a lot from them. I would recommend this class.
One of the few gen ed classes I've taken that inspired me to read outside of the course. (Han made me a real fan of Kurzgesagt!) Appreciated the different grading style: being able to pick and choose which assignments to do in order to rack up points for an A made the class really easy to integrate into my summer with my busy schedule. Great class!
I took an online class with Professor Han & really liked him! The class was self-paced & a super convenient setup for busy schedules. Only thing I didn't like was that class announcements were posted as audio messages instead of readable text. Bit difficult for visual learners. Other than that, great Prof & interesting content! Would recommend!
This class was structured for student success. If you put in the work, you will succeed and learn at a pace that is good for you. He was always quick to answer, insightful, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. His passion for learning was immediately evident and the support he gives to his students was outstanding. I learned so much about myself too.
Professor Han is nice but he gives you barely any points, I just found out if I get a 100% on everything I'm only getting a 75% in the class. You don't have to do the assignments but to even get a good grade you have to. This class should be an easy A but it really isn't. The way he grades/teaches sucks.
As this has been my first year at ECC, I have only had a few professors but professor Han was by far the best. His class was never boring and actually made you think. I do not read in my free time, but the books he used (instead of a textbook) were interesting and got me to enjoy reading the material. I can not say enough about prof. Han!
His Comparative Religions course was one of my most interesting classes. He not only explains everything thoroughly, but he makes class fun. Definitely would recommend.
Grades by points, as long as you do the work you will pass. Gives intresting books so it wont feel boring. :)
Very great professor, gives you great and detailed feedback on your reflections. You have to stay on top of things in order to understand his lectures, and will let/try to let everyone participate in each one. He respects everyone's opinions and let's everyone express them.
Dr Han is one of the best professors at Elgin Community College. I took his Intro to Philosophy course and it was by far my favorite class that semester. The topics and and readings are super interesting and really make you think. 10/10 would take again. Yes this class is writing heavy but if you put in the work, it should not be a problem.
I've had Dr Han for two different courses and they were both a great time. His grading system is nice because you can pick/choose which assignments to do in order to accumulate the points for your desired grade, I find his method less stressful and encourages students to be responsible. Overall a fair and reasonable guy. Interesting topics as well.
Professor Han was awesome. His philosophy course is awesome, his reflection assignments actually allow you the chance to creatively elaborate and use your own mind. He doesn't demand certain criteria in your writing which allows for open reflection. You are expected to read the books but luckily they're really interesting ones.
Dr. Han is a great guy. Weve had several, long conversations in his office hours about all topics philosophy. Hes knowledgeable and his lectures are great. The overall class atmosphere is incredibly laid back, and essentially, you do pick your grade. Hes a great professor, and I highly recommend taking this course with him.
I really enjoyed taking this class, there is a lot of reading but its really great content to read.
His lectures are very interesting and current to events. He brings up several perspectives on topics so you'll never truly know what he believes in. No assignment is mandatory and you do whatever assignment you want to do. The course books he chooses are varied, some short with pictures, some not. I enjoyed his class a lot and would take him again.
Expect a few chapters of reading and a 4 question quiz a week. If you read the chapters, the quizzes are an easy A. There is one paper on each book (4) and one term paper. All were fairly quick and easy. He is also super nice. Highly recommended!
I'm genuinely shocked and bothered that there are people giving low ratings. One has to be a special case to not be able to earn as low as a C. For his classes, an A is not hard to get at all, as long as you are motivated enough to getting work done. Brilliant professor with truly amazing lectures, funny moments, and damn near perfect classes.
He does a great job explaining material. I felt engaged in his class, however for comp relig he does grill and question your beliefs. Not a bad thing but be prepared. Hw: Weekly paper and quiz + 4 to 6 videos on material(in place of tb). Class is on a point based system, I didn't take the final but you are basically given a B.
Prof Han is a great pleasure. Han is quite heavy on participation, but if you know your material and study what is given each week, it is an easy class to get an A in. It is a point-based class, so you can do as much or as little work as you can until you get the grade that you want. Quizzes and tests are easy if you participate and complete work.
Han is amazing! Be prepared to write papers that are worth less than 10 points but so worth it. I truly enjoyed coming to his class. If you participate and come to class he will work with you, if needed. He will call on you to participate. He knows students can be shy but his goal is to make sure everyone comes out of their shell!
Professor Han is absolutely my favorite professor. His classes are dynamic and very interesting. He makes us analyze and think deeply about everyday life topics and our own preconceptions, also challenging that He gives students endless opportunities to succeed in the course with extra credit and a flexible grading method. Extremely recommended
Professor Hans class was very interesting and super fun to learn in. He tells you from the start what you need to score in points in order to receive your grade at the end of the semester. Give lots of extra credit and if you carefully read your books there is no reason why you shouldn't pass. He's also very fair on his grading.
I have taken all the class that Han has to offer his a great teacher. Be ready to be challenged and think critically about anything and everything. If you don't like reading or writing I would not recommend taking his classes. Be ready to have your opinions challenged !!!!
All classes should be set up the way Dr. Han sets his up. You start at 0/150 pts and work towards your goal rather than 0/0 and maintaining all 16 weeks. Very interesting discussions and reflections that challenge your thinking. Not hard per se, but you must be a critical thinker to succeed. You'll miss out by taking another professor, guaranteed.
Professor Han is a very well-spoken and knowledgeable professor. His lectures consist of discussion and active participation from the students. He has the best grading scale in ECC! As long as you participate, do the active readings, and write the reflections, you're going to get that A. Han also has some of the most entertaining lectures at ECC.
He's the best professor at ECC. I took every course he taught and it was always an enlightening experience. He will make time outside class hours to help students better understand the material. I was shocked reading the negative reviews, but hey, not everyone can handle using that many brain cells all at once and every popular person has haters ;)
His class has so much built in extra credit that if you fail, it's on you. Encourages students to think beyond the obvious to boost their critical thinking skills. He even stays after class when he has time for students that need extra help. I tell all my friends at ECC to take his class and they always love him. 100% would take again.
amazing professor. a little intimidating at first, but his lectures are very fun. he makes learning about philosophical concepts interesting and he's really memorable. his assignments are easy and his grading policy is very flexible. would take him again 100000%
Took as summer course. Rent/buy textbook for cheap(only pages 20-60 some are used), but they are absolutely necessary. Very lecture heavy, he cold calls a lot too and often times the answer he desires is not clear or difficult to specify; you have to find the middle ground between too broad and not broad enough. Very funny. Topics can be heavy.
Professor Han was by far the funniest professor ever. He talks about real issues in his class while still talking about philosophy. However if you do not like reading do not take this class. I would also say be ready to participate he likes when students participate but he does not like vague answers Such a good professor overall.
Professor Han is a must-take! His point system for grading is so smart and allows you to work for the grade you want. You only take a 4-question quiz once a week; however, you read a chapter and watch a few videos for each lesson. Always such interesting material and he gives both sides of the argument. Truly loved his class & great guy all in all
Professor Han is one of the best professors I have had. He is very well-spoken and knowledgeable. His lectures are a bit intimidating for some because he calls on people for participation in discussions. The grading scale is very easy to understand and has a ton of bult in extra credit. If you put in some effort, you should pass.
There's a couple group projects like case studies but it is mostly quizzes. It is super easy to get a good grade in his class as long as you do the readings and show up to his lectures.
Professor Han is by far the best professor I've ever had. Lectures were never boring, he does cold call which may be a con for some, but it made the class more entertaining and understandable. There were a variety of assignments to choose from and the prompts were clear. He is a very understanding and caring professor, I would retake him.
I really enjoyed Dr. Han's class. He doesn't take attendance so if you're not able to go some days he wont hold you accountable for it. Just make sure not to leave homework until the very end because there are no due dates on the assignments.
Prof. Han does a great job of introducing a number of philosophical concepts. His lectures are long but not mandatory. I would recommend going to them if you can though because they are definitely worth the time. He manages to make 2+ hour lectures engaging and thought provoking. As long as you meet the word count, he is a very reasonable grader.
TAKE HIS CLASSES! This is my third class with him, I enjoy every minute. "A la carte" grading style ensures that you will actually be engaged in learning the material, rather than worrying about what grade you get; be engaged and you will easily get an 'A.'. Truly a world class professor that ECC is privileged of having. Exceptionally smart.
Mr. Han is a straightforward professor and gives very good feedback. He isn't a tough grader and gives great advice during his office hours. Meeting him a few times really helped with thorough analysis of my assignments. He replies to emails within a few hours. Highly recommend and as long as you don't slack off, you will enjoy the class.
His class is pretty fun and his movie nights get a lot to talk about. Sometime you get student that doesn't have him still attend his movie night.
I really enjoyed this class. The readings are super interesting and he gives a lot of videos to follow up the readings as well. The grading system is different and is point based. As long as you get the amount of points you want for the grade you want it works out really well.
Prof. Han runs an engaging class with thought-provoking discussions. His flexible grading system and optional attendance make it manageable. I'd recommend using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook to stay on top of the material.
Get ready to get out of you comfort-zone, as this professor will “cold call” during lectures but honestly, such a tactic really helped me get out of my own little bubble and kept me engaged with the content of the class! Though the writing can be a bit excessive, it is nothing really “academic” and more relaxed.
Professor Han will tell it to you how it is, but he's there to help you out and there are a couple books to read. Tough grader though, but really funny and chill. Be ready to get called on and have an answer for him, and he seems intimidating at first, but he's not. You will pass this class by doing the assignments, and he's good with emailing.
Han was a funny and thought-provoking professor. Be ready to read a lot! There are discussion posts, quizzes, papers, and participation matters! This class will open your mind and push you out of your comfort zone—in a good way!
I took Asian Philosophy and Philosophy 101 with Professor Han, and it was a great experience. Professor Han has a great personality, which truly added to the course experience. The assignments always made you think, typically, they were written papers and quizzes. Overall, I do recommend him, and I would take him again
He is a great professor and provides lots of videos for extra understanding. His quizzes can get you though...
Professor Han is the best professor I have ever had! I'm serious. His class set me up for success as a student, at work, and even in my personal endeavors. He will help you organize your thoughts, articulate them and then challenge them so you can learn to handle many different perspectives. I wish I could have a class with him every semester.
This professor is gem. class is not strictly reading and memorizing or wiring long essay. Very organized, engaging and functional class. Class work and assignment are not very heavy. Weekly quiz are on the easier side. All he ask is participation and evolving our ideas around theories he teach.gain extra credit watch partying with our classmates.
Professor Han's Ethics course is honestly probably my favorite course I took at ECC. I'm genuinely going to miss this class. Han's lectures are not only engaging, but I don't think I have ever laughed harder in a college class setting. He really encourages you to use your critical thinking skills and dig deeper. The work load is not terribly heavy.
Professor Han is incredibly knowledgeable and really knows his stuff. The material he shared in class was always engaging and thought-provoking. He's very straightforward with his expectations, which makes it easy to understand what's required to succeed. It was always a pleasure to listen to him.
Prof. Han is nice. I took online classes. He is caring for his students I sent emails and responded quickly. This semester we read 3 books. Only his tests are tough..
His grading system made my finals week so much easier. The class was very stress free and only had a couple of assignments that were annoying. Overall, free class with 2-4 assignments you have to take seriously. If you do good on the quizzes and the first few group studies. Then a B on both midterm and finals guarantees an A in the class.
