Expects the work to get done. He will go over the material as many times as needed to ensure you understand. Do not take him if your a Math Major, otherwise he was alot of fun, and puts math in its proper place for the rest of us.

I don't know what the rest of you are smoking, but this guy sucks in my class. He does not teach. He gives you a problem and expects you to know what to do without any help. The homework is a nightmare. I am usually awesome at math, but even I can't get an A in his class.

HE is easay as hell. HE is very interesting and he nows what he is doing all of the time. I real love taking is class.

This was my second class taken with Mr. Hovanec. He is a wonderful and knowledgable teacher. If you don't do well in this class, it's simply because you didn't go to class or do any work.

He is a great math teacher. I have taken him for two different classes. He is always willing to work with you after class if you don't get something. As long as you are really trying he will help you. His comments really are funny.

Get this instructor! The homework is designed to give you practice, not to hammer you down. He gives you a good foundation in math, which means he's great for those who have rudimentary skills too! Very willing to help you. It's very difficult to fail with this instructor.

I would take nay math course this instructor teaches. He's that good. He teaches the concept of a strong foundation in math. The HW is designed to give you repetition, but in a boring way. A very interesting individual to talk too. If you try hard and are punctual w/ your papers, you should have no problems. A rare find in OWC!

Hovanec is EASY! If you want to learn Algebra, Avoid! Unfortunately, by taking this professor, you get stuck with every dunderhead in the joint making some sessions slow and painful. They will have him (and he will) explain the most basic concepts over and over.

Best math instructor I've ever had. Does get you to think with the homework, but will answer any qustions in class. If you don't do the homework, the computer work, or come to class...sucks to be you...SLACKERS!!!!!!!

We had Mr. Hovanec f/the 1st 2 mnths of the sem, then he became ill that took him out for the remainder. However, f/the time that we had Pete, I would definitely take another class with him when he returns to OWC. His methods, while a bit unusual, were clear and concise. (I can't say that same f/his sub-he was terrible!) Karl Jones.Very arrogant.

Took him for intermediate, and he made college algebra a breeze! he was awesome! he taught everything i needed and prepared me for chemistry~~his conversions will help u later! he is awesome!

Mr H was extremely laid back. He offers an exempt from final exam if you go into it with 96% or better. How cool is that? Has a tendency to go off topic often- and I was not always sure of what he was talking about or how it related to material being covered. Overall-it was straight. If you study the practice test you will rock all exams.

I had him for Stats; first A I ever got in Math. He makes Stats fun.

I took Mr. Hovanec's college algebra class and struggled, but still passed. I passed his stats class with flying colors. He has a style of teaching math (my worst subject) and making it easy to learn. OWC needs to bring him onto full-time faculty. His quirky sense of humor keeps you awake in those night classes. I highly recommend him.

I took Mr.H for Statistics, and this was the EASIEST math class I have ever taken. He made this class so easy. I would highly recommend Mr. H for any math class. He is awesome!

Mr.H was one of the best professors I have had yet! He is awesome in class, makes class interesting and leaves you wanting more. His exams are definitely well prepared for and no one should leave his class without at least a B. I would recommend him to ANYONE!!!!

I took Mr. Hovanec for STA2023 and MAC1105 in the same semester. He was a VERY helpful teacher. Pretty funny and likes to have an easy going time in class. He spells everything out and as long as you PROVE you are putting all you effort into the work he is very forgiving when it comes to grading. Highly recommended!

I love the way that even though you might not totally understand what he's teaching, he takes the time to go over it and help you. I totally wish he could teach my next math class. OWC needs all teachers to be like him.

I took Statistics with Mr. Ethridge last semester, but I had a horrible time with it, and ended up failing and haveing to retake it. Mr Hovenac Was the BEST math teacher I have ever had. He really makes sure you know how to do it. I highly recommend him. And instead of online homework, its the good old fashion book. I love that. :)

Mr H was a great teacher. I hate math, I hate statistics, and I put this class off for soo long. He made it easy to understand and teaches it just how I needed it. He knows you are not there to be a statistician, so he doesn't make you learn all the crud a stats major would learn.

Mr. H is the best math teacher by far.OW made a big mistake by not hiring him full time.

If you need to take stats, i would severely suggest mr hovanec for quite a few reasons! 1. He doesnt act like everyone in the class has PHd's in Stats. 2. He is extremely fair, Understanding and Laid Back. 3. His Reviews for the test are almost identical to review so you know what will be on test and you will be able to ask questions before hand.

This man is by far the best math teacher i have ever had. I have never before taken any form of statistics and i passed his class with a 99%. His test reviews are practically identical to the tests so you will never be suprised when the test comes, and he makes statistics relevant to real life. TAKE STATS WITH HIM!!

The best teacher I have had period. I had failed statistics once and took it again with him, it is amazing how simple he made it. I understood it so well that I began tutoring other statistic students with different teachers. He is the best teacher ever. TAKE HIM! :)

Mr. Hovenac is the most impressive teacher I have EVER had. I dont say that lightly. I have had such a difficult time with Algebra until now. When people say that its all about the teacher with math, it is so true. Not just anyone can teach this with success. He really cares, and enjoys his profession. Mr. H is awesome!!! I had him for math a few semesters back and I keep looking him up but he's not there. Anyways he is great. I would recommend this class to anybody. He gives you study guides and there basically the same as the test and he makes sure you know everything. Homework is not really graded. He just checks them off as done. Def recommen

The absolute best math teacher ever, hands down! Uses several methods to teach lessons and very helpful. Always had a great attitude! A nice person who is actually good at teaching math, you don't get this every day, if you "need to pass" take him!

Mr. H is wonderful! Doesn't mind staying after and helping. Attendence isn't mandatory but if you miss a class with a worksheet you'll be sorry.

I took both Intermediete and Algebra with Mr. H and enjoyed every second of it. Not only is he an awesome instructor, but he's funny and entertaining as well. Both were fast-track courses and he did an awesome job at squeezing everything in to only 6 weeks. For me, he only needed to show me something once to understand it. 6 out of 5 stars!

I was lucky enough to have Mr.H as a teacher for MAT1033 and MAC1105. He is a great instructor and helped me understand Algebra. He is enthusiastic about the subject, funny and kept my attention. Above all, he cares about his students and does not mind going the extra mile to help. I would definitely recommend him.

Awesome teacher. I hated algebra and failed the semester before. With Mr. H I managed to get an A in a fast track class and now enjoy algebra! He gets off track but is funny and explains in a manor that ANYONE can understand. If you are not a math whiz, this is the teacher for you.

MAT 1033A-I took two classes with him, he is absolutely the best math professor. He will teach you and help you if you need it! Makes math seem like second nature to everyone. You must go to class but its a math class and that is expected! Overall HIGHLY recommend him!

AMAZING! Had MR. H for intermediate AND college algebra- for once in my life i was not intimidated by math, and i actually enjoyed learning it! Mr. H is an awesome guy and great professor. I'm not a strong math student, but was able to understand what was being taught. If you do your homework and study some, you should make a good grade. Reviews are very similar to the test, and he doesn't test on material that he hasn't gone over in class. Wish I could take him for Calculus next semester.

Fantastic professor. He works with this students if you show that you are trying he will work with you. Attend all classes and do all the homework. Exams are very similar to reviews so make sure you attend reviews and study.

I think I took this class just to peek my interest. It was easy because I'm smart but Mr. Hovanec made the course fun. If math isn't your thing, he will make it fun enough for you to pass or get an A. You have to really try to fail this class, lol.

Professor Havonec was a great instructor. Class lectures often just consisted of going over the homework and learning new material. I took this class 10 yrs after leaving high school with no math since, and he was very helpful. Often stayed after for help if needed. Gives credit for partial work, Would Take again.

I had took Mr. H for Prep Math II, and he was very helpful and nice. He would stay after class was over if you needed help. I had fun in his class. I would recommend him first for math.

Hovanec is awesome and a really easy grader. Everyone who tries in his class passes. He makes you want to be in class because he's so interesting. Homework is graded by participation and you get 3 or 4 questions per lesson. Tests are easy and he gives reviews that look like the test.

Mr. H is THE BEST Math teacher of NWFSC!! I took him for College Algebra and made an "A". His class consist of 3 Test & 1 Final. HW from text book & Aleks (Easy) and classwork which you can work with a group of friends. I took his class during the 2015 Fall semester. He is freakin hilarious & he'll make you smile. Trust me. Just take his class.

A great professor all semester and this is the first time I've ever been sad a class has ended. His tests actually are on material we covered, I'm not sure why this is rare nowadays! Im definitely going to see if I can get in another one of his classes

Super chill there is an online component but it is only 5% of your grade so if you don't have a textbook don't worry too much he is super chill and a good teacher.

I had to retake College Algebra because I previously got a D, I made an A in Mr. H's class! He is very laid back and takes an interest in his students. He takes time to make sure everyone understands. His review for tests are so helpful and he doesn't give an overwhelming amount of homework. I will be taking him again if I get a chance.

Literally the absolute best teacher ever. The only professor who ive had that actually takes the time to learn his students names and help them with anything no matter what. If you simply show up and pay attention, you will pass. Very little homework, very easy tests (exactly like the study guide and super simple questions) Highly highly recommend!

Mr. Hovanec is great. He cares about if a student is understanding the material hes teaching and always makes it a priority to ask if anyone has questions after each new thing you learn in lecture. We go over everything we learn so many times that if you really take the time to pay attention, you will totally understand. And hes also funny!

While taking him online he would load a video each week have you do a couple of HW and Quizzes. We had about 4 test including final. Of you take notes even if its an online class you will pass. His examples are so close to the problems he gives. He always responds in a timely manner. You have 2 chances to to quizez and unlimited attempts for hw.

Prof Hovanec can answer any question a student may ask and is extremely passionate about the material and teaching it to his students. The course was well taught and organized and Prof H was always very responsive. He always ask if you have question and would go over everything if needed. HW, Quizzes and Tests what he teaches in class.

He's an amazing teacher and I would take him all the way up through differential equations if I could. Show up, pay attention, ask questions, and you'll be fine.

I took college algebra and pre cal with Mr. H. And he's awesome. He make math understandable so you don't see just a bunch of letters and numbers. He also explains how to use the calculator which has helped tremendously for those of us who haven't been in school for over 20 years and have only had to use the basic calculator.

Mr. H was awesome! I took his Trig class and his Math in Society. Both classes were great. Show up to his lectures!!! He will work out the modules with you and go over any questions. If you are ever confused, just go over the modules that are online. The math becomes much easier if you study and go over the resources he gives you. Great teacher.

Homework is super easy. He's a chill dude. Just show up to class because he grades attendance. I just suck at math tbh lol

I took College Algebra with Mr. H several years ago. His lectures were very informative. Math has always been hard for me but I didn't think I would be able to get the grade that I did without him helping me. Aside from that, he's very personable and witty, I would love to take another of his classes someday if I get the chance.

mr h is a super chill older guy. notes were easy to understand. goes over study guide before test and they're always identical. really easy to get a good grade. uses aleks but he's leniant about not doing the homework for it. wish I could take him for pre calc
