Greatest teacher I have ever had. Always very into the material, always cracking jokes, ALWAYS there to help you with ANY question you may have. Easy reading homework, understandable writing prompts, and simple quizzes. Pete is an awesome guy! Everybody should take him at one point or another. GREAT class. He makes it all understandable.

BEST TEACHER EVERR! He's hilarious and makes learning really fun and interesting. Cracks jokes all the time, tests are really straight forward, power points during class with notes (90% of the notes on powerpoint will be on exams). If you go to every class, do well on his easy tests, and read you'll get an A. COD is lucky to have Pete!!

Pete was a fun interesting teacher! He obviously loves his topic, and really likes class discussions. Not afraid to call anyone out but not a harsh teacher. Definitely need the book, the discussions and the weekly quizzes are based on it. If you did the reading the tests and quizzes are a no brainer. I highly recommend!

I LOVED my World Religions class with Mr. Kinetis. He's a funny guy and knows how to make learning enjoyable. He's a well-educated guy, he taught us things that can help us in our future classes. He is a great professor. One of the greatest I've ever had! Super knowledgeable, funny and personable. No homework except reading the book and the paper. The paper's easy too! It's on what your claim, your arguments and your conclusion. He does weekly quizzes which include only 10 questions. The class is awesome!

Funny teacher, overall made class fun. Daily quizzes were annoying, MUST read/study notes to do well on quizzes. Few papers to write, picky on format however topics weren't bad. Watches over everyone during quizzes so cheating isnt an option

awesome teacher, awesome person. funny (corny funny sometimes too) points for attendance, tests are pretty much from notes but you really should read too. strict but nice. don't mess up the format on your papers. don't text. he will meet you in his "office" (Starbucks) anytime you want for further help. awesome guy, super nice.

Really nice guy, but based on many of these reviews I expected more. Hes funny, keeps class interesting, helpful, and a pretty easy grader. What I disliked was he kinda treats his students like how a HS teacher would. No texting, mandatory attendance, group work, and to be honest- I really didn't learn much despite the good grade I received.

Took his 8am Ethics class, and I'm not a morning person, but class is so fun & interesting that coming to class woke me up. He's a super easy grader & for the tests, the powerpoint is your study guide. Everything on the powerpoint is on the test. Just come to class, and you'll do fine! I highly recommend him!

This was by far the best teacher i've at at COD. He is hilarious, and doesn't make you feel stressed out about school. I thoroughly enjoyed his class, and actually wanted to go. He clarifies everything very well and really makes sure everyone understand. And if you have questions, it doesn't matter what they are, he will never make you feel stupid.

I never use RateMyProfessor. But let me tell you, homework and going to class has NEVER been so enjoyable. He makes jokes ALL the time. If you like Steven Carrel(sp) with a guy that looks like harry potter, this is your guy! If you ever have a chance to take him, DO NOT HESITATE! He is such a fun teacher! He knows some of his material can be a bit dry, that's when he becomes quite entertaining. A lot of class discussion, you really get to know others. Easy tests as long as you study. Book is a must. Great class with a great teacher!

Mr. Kanetis could arugably be the best professor at COD. He has a very welcoming personality, which makes it easy to ask for help. Peter is a great teacher. He was my first professor coming into COD. He was awesome. His class was great and was very interesting to be in. The material he taught was good. He connects with his students on a personal level and is very understanding.

Peter was extremely nice and makes the class comfortable from day 1. No real homework assigned other than about a 10 page reading in order to do in class quizzes and response papers. Very helpful and passionate about the subject. Enjoyed this class very much and I hope taking him in the future for other courses.

Peter Kanetis is AWESOME. He's super understanding and a great teacher. I'd taken a different philosophy class a few years back, but Peter made the subject so much easier to understand. You learn a lot without being overly busy. Because of this, the exams are super easy. I would definitely recommend you take one of his classes if you can.

My favorite class & professor I've taken. The class is super interesting because there's a lot of discussion & he's totally welcoming of all opinions & makes them all feel valid & heard. You can tell he puts a lot of work into classes. Very engaging. It WAS challenging but if you work hard you will succeed!

Peter was one of my favorite teachers in my time at COD. He's very passionate about what he teaches, and he for sure knows his stuff. The course material isn't the most difficult to begin with, but he does an awesome job covering all you need to know in class. Be sure to show up to class, as you have daily response papers and those grades add up.

LOVE this guy. You have easy quizzes every week (he sends emails saying EXACTLY what you need to know for the quiz. questions on the quizzes include "What is the title of the article" & such so if you read and pay attention, you're good. never any homework is given. lets you have a cheat sheet for a mid termfinal. & he makes the class interesting!

My first ever class at COD was Mr. Kanetis' World Religions class in the Summer of 2015! It was so easy and made me comfortable for the upcoming fall semester. Quizzes every class but you can use your notes on the quiz! You could miss classes and the lowest 2 scores of classwork would be dropped from your grade! Don't miss out, take Mr. Kanetis!

One of the first classes I took at CoD and a year later I can say that was by far my favorite class. I took Intro to Philosophy with a friend and Peter made our experience amazing.

I LOVED Mr. Kanetis!! Great teacher. would recommend him to others. Very funny and understanding. Would not recommned skipping a lot it will hurt your grade. This was my favorite class of the day and I learned a lot. Lots of debating and talking to others which is good for meeting people. I think everyone should take this course and professor!!

I took him for Religion 1100 and I must say WOW! I makes everyone very comfortable to share. He's very funny, and really cares about the topic at hand. He's so nice and wants everyone to understand, which is why he only assigns 3-4 pages of reading at a time. His book only costs $20 so that's a plus!

Pete is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He knows how to make the class interesting. The only downside is that it was a 50 minute class, which isn't nearly enough time to discuss everything. Overall, he's a very inspirational professor and an awesome guy! Go CHAPARRALS! Lol.

Ah yeah, Mr. Kanetis makes the class so interesting and has a lot of knowledge of what he teaches in Philosophy 1100. Grades easily and should be a piece of cake if you show up to class and do response papers.

Had him for ethics phiolosphy and I loved the class. Before every class you have 4-5 pages out of the textbook to read, if you don't read you won't know what anyone is talking about. Classes are just big class discussions. On the quizzes you get to use a note sheet and on the midterm. Class is super easy, he is also a good professor and is funny.

Prof. Kanetis is probably one of the best teachers I've taken in college. His lectures are always thought provoking and he always relates everything we learn back to our lives. 3-5 page readings for homework and you get to use a cheat sheet on every quiz, even the midterm and final.

Kanetis is the best professor to teach Philosophy-Ethics! He lets you have a cheat sheet for every test, he is HILARIOUS, and he doesn't give a lot of homework. But, you must read the book and attend every class in order to succeed.

Kanetis is the BEST teacher I've had at COD. Highly recommend. You definitely would not regret it. Points are taken off if you don't show, but class is so much fun it's easy to go every day. His lectures are never boring and he loves it when students get involved. If you do the easy reading and show up you'll pass the class easily. He's he best.

A majority of what you had to do is read the assigned passage in the textbook and write down what it said and that was the homework. He also made you write down your opinions on a sheet during each class. That was another bit of the homework. Very easy to get through.

Very very friendly, always witty and helpful. Willing to meet outside of class to discuss anything. If you show up and fill out the worksheet you'll pass. Participation matters to an extent. He makes the class a friendly environment, so participating isn't as hard as it might be in other classes. Quizzes almost every week but very easy if read book

Took him for Intro to the Old Testament. its definitely a class where you need to read and come to class. but its not bad at all. the readings he assigns are, for the most part, pretty short and he allows a notecard for every quiz. The class is discussion based so be prepared for him to call on you if there is any silence after he asks a question.

Professor Kanetis is hands-down one of the best professors I have ever had. He was very caring, knowledgeable, and hilarious. When I first came into this class I knew absolutely nothing about philosophy, but at the end of it all I gained much more knowledge on philosophy, and life in general. If you have the opportunity, take him!

He has the class structured very reasonably. Come to class &participate in class discussions for points. No homework just reading a few pages. Weekly 5 q's quiz. Let's you have a notecard for them &exams. However he was very big on attendance. Took off points just for being 1 min late as if in high school. Easily one the best teachers overall.

Honestly, Kanetis is one of the best professors I've had at COD. I had to take philo as an elective to in order to transfer. (had no idea what philosophy was.) Kanetis makes the class so enjoyable! Participation and showing up to class REALLY matters. Theres no right or wrong answers just give your opinion and boom theres your A! TAKE HIM!!

KANETIS IS THE MAN!! Loved every second of his class! Work just consisted of readings and weekly quizzes. But honestly, the only thing I can remember from his class is all the funny jokes we cracked and just his overall spirit and charisma for coming into class every week. TAKE HIM!!

Almost a blow off class, just have to read three or four pages every weekend for a multiple choice quiz on Mondays. They are SO easy. Also, three get dropped from your grade. However, he does take a lot of points for participation and attendance. So you won't do well if you do not attend. Overall, great class and great teacher.

BEST professor ever! Kanetis is so funny and really cares about his students. His class is really easy and as long as you read every week and talk in class, you will do fine. You get to use a note card on the quizzes every week and discussions are very non biased. He never judges what you say, even if its stupid. I would 100% take him again.

He is one of the best teachers cod has to offer. I've learned a lot in his class and he is very inspirational. Not to mention but he is also hilarious. He gives a quiz almost every week but they are very easy. His give six assessments but they're only 15 questions a piece and they are also very easy. I definitely recommend him.

He is an absolutely wonderful professor and the way the class was set up was all discussion based which really helped me learn how to be an ethical thinker. His goal as a professor is to not just have you get credits toward your degree but to help make you a better person by instilling ethical principles in you. GREAT CLASS!!

I've got nearly 70 credit hours under my belt and have taken many different professors at COD. None compare to Mr kanetis. He is simply the best. Not only is he a great teacher but he is a great man. Show up and participate in his class and you will have no problem passing. He deserves to be a full time faculty member. Excellent teacher!

One of the most easiest class I've ever taken. If they felt that it was the hardest already, I don't think they'll even pass the other courses, lol. The lecture was very interesting. I was even thinking to attend a philosophy class every week even after the end of course. It was really inspiring. I even still remember the story of onemug.

I think Peter is by far my favorite teacher I've ever had. Took a 4 1/2 hour Saturday morning class that I thoroughly looked forward to every single week. Definitely need to show up & participate to pass but other than that there isn't a ton of other work. I hope I can take another one of his classes soon. The concepts actually stuck & applicable!

This man is a legend. Actually looked forward to going to class because of him. He is very understanding and approachable and is always willing to help. He focuses on trying to make the class the most relatable and impactful as possible. Grade is comprised of participation, three short papers, and some weekly 3 question quizzes.

The class is such an easy A. The largest grade is participation and attendance. He is super nice and hilarious and makes each class enjoyable even if the topic is very morbid. All you have to do is raise your hand, state and justify for opinion and you'll pass. He also is an amazing conversationalist during office hours. Go there for fun!

One of the best professors at COD. Im currently taking his Intro to Religions class. Its an easy A class. Attendance is mandatory, Very funny and friendly professor. And he really cares about his students. He assigns us like 10-20 pages to read every week from the textbook. Then, we are supposed to write a one page summary. Not hard at all.

Would 10 out of 10 reccomend professor Pete to anyone and everyone, regardless of your degree or interests. My Intro to Philosophy class is by far my favorite class I've taken at COD. BE ON TIME. Every minute you are late you lose participation points which is huge in the class. Like losing test points. Don't do it. And participate even if you don't feel as confident, it's about just having the courage to say something. Do that and you'll get your A.

Kanetis is the best professor I've had yet. Extremely accessible, funny, and caring towards his class (e.g. memorized everyone's name by the second week). Public speaking is difficult for me, but he makes talking in class enjoyable. Definitely plan on taking more of his classes. Only class I've had that starts with dancing stuffed animals.

Peter is a great professor. You must participate in his discussions to receive full points. No tests and quizzes for 1150 which was a plus! Really great guy and makes an average gen ed really fun and interesting. I actually learned more than I expected to which I liked. Attendance is MANDATORY. Most anyone can get an A in his class.

You won't regret taking any of his classes! He's really funny and he cares about all his students. It's discussion based so you get the majority of your points from talking, but he's respectful and never makes anyone feel dumb and really values everyones opinion. It's only been 2 weeks into the summer semester, I was already able to tell that Peter is really passionate about what he teaches. He is very enthusiastic, the class is set up very clearly. If you want to learn something, Peter is the professor to take! You will not regret it.

Best professor ever. For ethics summer semester we only had to write 15, 350-word essays. He sends video updates and is really personable. He provided feedback to every essay and articles were easy reads. He really cares about you growing as a person and not only as a student. So sad the semester is over:( take him!!! You will not be disappointed.

He is an amazing professor, I took his Ethics 1110 class over the summer online and there were 15 papers to write. Trust me they weren't difficult. He gave you an article to read and all you had to do was relate it to you and write what you thought. If you have any questions, he'll answer them. Definitely would take him again.

Professor Kanetis was an amazing teacher, I took his online class for Philo1110, Ethics. If you have any questions he is always trying to help answer them. The assignments were super easy and interesting, you would read an article and then write a essay about how you felt/connected to it. Would take him again!

11/10 prof! Class optional, very caring about you're understanding of the material. Weekly 500 word papers but very simple and he is very open to assisting on a one of one zoom call. Would 100% take again. An 'easy A' but also a great experience!

You get graded for showing up and participating so if you do that you'll get 100%. There are also weekly papers that take 20 minutes to do and you'll get full credit if you do them. There are no tests so your grade is fully based on participation. If you don't like raising your hand, don't take his class but if you do then I 100% recommend him.

he gives 50 life extra credit points just for being in the class. you write a simple, personal paper every week totaling around 15/16 papers end of semester. his required textbook was amazing and cheap on amazon. take his class if you can! he can be a little weird at times, but then again, aren't we all? this course wont disappoint. register!!

He was a super cool and chill guy. You had a week to write a one page paper that he graded very easily. Also, late papers are 50% until the last day! This was one of the best classes I have taken!

Makes topics interesting and fun to talk about. Gives out weekly papers, but they are a piece of cake. Very forgiving with grading, gave half credit on late papers until the end of the class. Encourages people to engage in discussion. Very fun to talk to. Highly recommend.

Prof. Pete is the best professor I've had so far followed by my A&P 2 professor Mrs. Susanne. Prof. Pete will break every single thing down for you and me being an international student, he made it more easy for me to understand and able to relate. TAKE HIS CLASS! HE IS AWESOME!

Very knowledgeable in the world of philosophy especially when it comes to ethics, epistemic approaches, and metaphysics. He is very approachable and communicative, centers his teaching around the students rather than dealing with the material in a dry and bureaucratic manner. Assignments are very reasonable and clear to understand.

Oh my god what can I even say. I have prof P for ethics and intro to philosophy and he is hands down one if not the best prof ive had at COD. Never had tests only quizzes. No big final exam at the end. Explains things so clearly and thoroughly. You do need to speak in class to get points tho and showing up is really important.

Your whole grade is based on weekly papers on short chapters of the textbook and attendance. Papers take me about 45 mins total. Attendance is half your grade so only take him if you intend to come to class. Every class is a discussion on relevant topics/debates and relating it back to ethical reasoning. Very caring & inspirational professor.

Professor Kanetis is an amazing teacher! His goal is to have you learn meaningful information that you can carry with you throughout life. It's an easy A as long as you do the work and show up to class. He cares about his students and that just makes the class a safe place. This class was easily my favorite out of the five I took.

Genuine fun guy, he made learning philosophy fun and exciting. He handled heavy topics well and even not so heavy topics well. Just make sure you are someone who goes to class, being in class is super important to your grade, but 10/10 would recommend!!

I think Peter Kanetis might be the funniest professor at cod. You can just take one look at him and start laughing, but when he opens his mouth, Jesus Mary Joseph. I actually peed my pants one time in class because one of his jokes was just so funny. Coming to his class each day is like seeing a pet coon under a red wagon. Peter is Fabulous.

I fully believe that a professor's attitude & spirit has the biggest effect on the learning & engagement of a class. Kanetis has out done every prof. I took in this regard. He's proven to me that it's possible to have as impactful of an experience learning online as in person. Despite me just fulfilling a gened req. this was my most memorable class

Professor Kanetis is by far the best prof. I have taken at COD! He is amazing and wants to make sure that you are learning. He truly cares about his students and goes out of his way to make time even to have a simple conversation. BE on time to his class it counts! If I could take him again I would, BEST TEACHER EVER!

This prof. really cares. I have taken several classes with him because I am always looking to learn more from him. Sometimes I walk out of class with life lessons that actually help. He cares about his students and does not make it so hard that they are discouraged to learn. I would definitely recommend taking a Philo class with him!

The funniest professor ever.

If I was not transferring next year, I would DEFINITELY take another class with Kanetis. He is very kind, well spoken, and always cracking jokes. Even at eight am he has me engaged in the conversation, which says a lot. Also, he takes time out of his day to have conversations with students, and is a decently fast responder. Great guy!

Prof. Kanetis is one of the best professors I've had at COD! His grading criteria and attitude in the classroom really helped to open everyone in the class up to sharing out loud. I would definitely take a class with him again. Be aware of attendance, though. Chronic lateness and skipping class will cause your grade to plummet majorly.

Mr Kanetics is a really good teacher so far, he is very creative in his approach of teaching!! He is funny and the positive comfort level that he brings each day makes the class open up and participate! He lets everyone share what they're thinking in a positive light! He makes tests and quizzes easy; he makes attendance mandatory but fun

Kanetis is the funniest professor I've ever had, he made my first class of the day highly enjoyable. He is very passionate about philosophy and makes the lectures really easy to understand. There is no homework, just a weekly quiz which takes no more than 5 minutes.

by far the funniest professor ever this man will wake you up no matter how early it is ethics was such an easy class too with no homework just weekly quizzes that are literally like 4 true or false questions extremely easy and amazing guy. your attendance does effect your grade and its no technology or you lose points

I would 100% take his class again if I could. One of the best professors in COD. He makes the class very exciting to learn and there is no homework besides reading an article every week and a half and having 5 questions based on it. Very easy class!

Professor Pete is one of the best professors that care that you could find, makes you care truly about the material alongside making it fun and easy to understand

Genuinely one of the best teachers I have had by far. He's extremely good at keeping the class engaged even when some topics aren't as interesting and he'll get you to laugh at least once every class. You can easily get an A+ as long as you stay on top of the assignments and attend class. Very enjoyable class.

This is the second time I had Mr. Kanetis at my time at College of Dupage. He is an fun professor who really cares about his students. He is hilarious, and a perfect professor to start the day with! His grading criteria is clear, and his assignments are reasonable. All-in-all, I would recommend him to anyone, especially if you love philosophy!

The only reason I give the course a 3 for the difficulty is that philosophy and religion are difficult to wrap your head around and learn. I took him in the spring of '23 and Professor Pete is a really fun and caring professor. He structures the class so we have class discussions on topics. This allows you to really hone in on your speaking skills.

Professor Pete is an amazing professor! The homework essentially consists of a weekly 200 word "discussion" assignment. I was in an 8am class and his humor and interesting lectures kept the whole class engaged the whole way through! Lectures consisted of class discussions, which were very interesting. Participation is VERY important so no ditching!

Best professor ever! Easiest class I've ever taken this semester. All you have to do is show up to class and do reading and discussion papers, which are super easy because you are basically connecting an ethics topic to your life story. This class is an easy A

he is such a good teacher. makes the class fun and engaging. the conversations are actually really interesting. you do get particpation points but you don't have to talk out loud as long as you talk to someone. he is super respectful of all views too. def would take again.

Professor Pete is an absolute gem! His engaging lectures and witty humor kept the class entertained. The weekly discussions were a breeze, and with Unstuck AI's study tools, I aced the course. Definitely show up - attendance is crucial, but it's worth it!

Kanetis is VERY funny and easy going. Every class is an open discussions about the weekly topic from an article. A short article to read on the weekend and then a short quiz about the article(T/F & multiple choice) No other assignment ! As long as you participate in class discussions you'll pass. Take his class, he makes it fun!

One of the most wonderful professors, period. Very understanding, empathetic and kind. Do not hesitate to reach out to him, whether it is school related or just needing to rant about personal issues. He is there for his students and wants them to succeed. Would take him over and over again if I was able to!

He is the best professor in-person and online. Half of the semester, we did in-person quizzes every monday, then shifted to online where we did reflection papers every week. He is also understanding and will give you a chance to succeed with amazing feedbacks and advices to think on.

Professor Pete is by far the best professor/teacher I've had. He's absolutely hilarious and genuinely cares about each one of his students. I loved coming to his class so much. The discussions we'd have in class would always leave me thinking deeply on the matter. His class was also so so easy. Barely tried, skipped a few assignments, and got an A.

The class was discussion based and he did not give homework other than about 10 pages of textbook reading per week that we were quizzed on every Monday. He was strict about punctuality and phone use, but with good reason. He made class fun and engaged students. There was a ton of extra credit and this class would be hard to get under an A in

Genuinely the nicest professor I've had and his lectures are always interesting and open for discussion of any topics relevant. Awesome extra credit opportunities and less stress on the grades and more focus on the learning aspect of philosophy. Really enjoyed this class!

Favorite Professor I've ever had. He dislikes the idea of coming to school and being bombarded with information you'll never use, so his main goal for you in the class is to become a little bit of a better person by the end of the semester. No exams, 3 or 4 question quiz once a week that are free points. Simply amazing!
