Peter is a very interesting fella! He will tell you some crazy stories! But he makes you take sooo many notes!!! And they are always so small you can barely see them, so get a seat in the front of the class.His class is very easy, and he bases his tests and quizes off his notes not the book. I only used the book once, so you may not need to buy it.

No problem with his notes being too small anymore, I sat in the back of the room and was able to take them all down. Peter is a fun teacher and is always willing to help a student with questions. His personal stories that related to the class made it not so boring.

He is a great proff! He brings his own culture into the classroom! The class can be a little boring at times when he does the powerpoints. The tests and quizes are very easy! Don't worry about buying the book I never used it and still got an A! Good Luck :0)

Just a little thing i don't like about him is just in the representation time when i speak, he interrupt..Easy class, Don't use book, just hear his lecture on the power point.U will be find in his class.I think nobody get C in my class in this spring quarter. maybe they got C if they miss the quiz and always don't come to class. JUst Come to Class!

Very friendly, and a good teacher. Due to projects and quizzes, you must show up to class (pref. on time). Very fair grader.

Prof,Karim is very good guy, funy and he knows what he is doing.You will learn a lot but he goes through his notes very very fast and many unexpected quizes.

Best teacher I ever had. He is extremely intellectual and highly knowledgeable. The only people who fail this class are those who do not come to class regularly. He explains so well that I had no problems with taking notes. Best soc 101 class to take

I entered this class with dread, and it turned out to be much more fun than I expected. Peter is a fine teacher, and grades easy. I wound up taking more away from the class than I expected. I would take another class from Peter if I could.

I was in his cultural diversity class and it was extrememly easy to get an A. Attending class is not manditory but if you dont attend you will do very poorly!! Don't bother buying the book because you dont need it. He practically tells you the answers to his exams! He made his class very easy.

I highly recommend Dr.Karim, he loves sociology and this can be seen in the way he teaches. He is funny and always responds to e-mail on time. As long as you show up to class and put in some effort you will do fine, if you don't show up you will miss quizzes and important labs. His only downside is his accent can be a little thick.

My major is sociology/Criminology. This is a good teacher for an intro class. I think he's hilarious and provides a good aspect to class cause he's from another country. You dont need the book, all you have to do is be in class and take notes. Very easy class. It can be a bit boring due to taking notes. He also provides notes for you online.

Sesay is a brilliant professor and I got an A in the class because he made everything really interesting.

Peter seesay is by far the coolest teacher ive ever had. I took his cultural diversity class and it was great!! he has an accent because he from Africa but is so cool. Makes the class laugh and is open-minded when listening to the classes POV. the who class was multiple chice even the final and there were two papers but they were group projects.

if you have to take a soc class, i hope that you get him as a prof. you learn soooo much!! quizzes help you on the mid term and final. great reviews, doesnt hesitate to answer questions, and he thinks his jokes are hilarious...which they are sometimes...great great prof.

Very Interesting person. Talked a lot about his culture, but it was generally pertained to what we were learning. Not to mention the stories kept the class lively. I would recomend this professor!

Professor Karim-Sesay (his name is spelled wrong on here) may be the best professor I have had at CSCC. I highly recommend him.

Best online professor for SOC101. He is very nice and fair with grading. Interesting discussion board questions; they were very engaging. I loved this class i would take it over again.

Take him, he is great. His class is very easy, but you still learn a lot. You don't need the book at all. I like the fact he is actually from Africa and gave a lot of insight to his culture, so it made the class even more interesting, considering it is about cultural diversity.

This class was pretty good. Very, very easy. I had a 100% in this class and didn't study at all, so I have no idea how people fail it. You don't need to buy the book. He gives you every term you need to know for the tests ahead of time. There are group projects, which are a pain if people are lazy..

He is an excellent instructor.I recommend to anyone wants to take SOC 101.his asigments are fairly easy and generous when it comes on grading except Quizzes.If you have issue with anything and talk to him about it, he will not disappoint you at all.In my knowlege, He is one of the best in CSCC and funny too.if you do your job, you will get an esay

Great Teacher. I was a little skeptical when I scheduled for his class because I was concerned about the language clarity but he speaks pretty clearly. He is very interesting and has experienced first hand the stuff he teaches about because of where he is from. Great class discussion, uses "hot topics" such as racism and discrimination. I RECOMMEND

He is a very nice person. But don't miss class. He gives quizzes without notification. He has a very thick African accent. Go to class and continueously study and you will get an A. Not so bad, Okay.

i took the hyper class and it was really easy. but the problem is that he doesn't give u the review sheet answer and some of the review questions r on the exam (exact Q). I'm also planning to take SSC 101 from him.

Great class. I took it online, and everything is self explanatory. Reasonable workload, everything you need for the test is in the study questions and book. Easy and fair grader.

I really enjoyed this class. I thought that the teacher knew his stuff, and kept me interested the whole class period. His accent is thick, but you get use to it.

Great Prof. and really knows his stuff. He is really easy on his grading, but you learn what he is teaching so it does not really matter. His experience from around the world is a very valuable teaching tool. He comes from one of the poorest places on Earth and he understands many perspectives.

Best teacher! I would disregard the comment below mine. This teacher is extremely easy to pass with an A. As long as you memorize the terms you should be fine. I memorized his 50 terms and received an 48/50. His accent does not concern a person's grade earned in class, that is the lamest excuse I have read. I took SOC 101 and SSCI 101-Recommend Him

He is a great teacher. He is more than willing to help you out side of class and puts up all of his lecture notes ahead of time. No need to buy the book.

Very interesting class, makes you think differently about the world and other cultures, what's in notes is EXACTLY what's on tests & quizzes, all multiple choice, just don't miss a quiz, but will let you make up lab assignments w/ full credit if missed.

Can be difficult to understand and the tests can be very difficult, but overall he is good and the class is enjoyable.

Excellent professor. He tells you exactly what you need to know for the quizzes and gives you a study guide with every term defined that you need to know for his exams. I Highly recommend this professor

Great teacher, great class. He basically tells you what is on every exam and quiz so if you fail it is your own fault.

His quiz is very hard but his very nice and very fun instractur. over all if you follow his lecture you can easly get good gread. I recommand very high.

Dr. Karim-Sesay is an amazing professor and human being. His teaching style is great. The way he relates the course material to current events and culture is very helpful. He's awesome.

Professor Sesay was a wonderful teacher. He had a thick accent so it was a little difficult to understand, but he knew his stuff and was very enthusiastic about teaching. There wasn't a day where I didn't enjoy his class, he made it interesting.

After 3 years at CSCC Professor Karim-Sesay was hands-down my favorite. He is hilarious and I don't think there is anyone in our class who doesn't think he's the greatest. His classes are fun, something I have rarely been able to say. I wish I could take his class again. MY FAVORITE EVER.

Almost didn't take this class in favor of a different online option but am now glad I did! Peter is an excellent instructor. He makes the material personal and delivers it in an engaging way. It seems this class is easy to do well in, however I believe this is due to the clarity of expectations and Peter's outstanding delivery of the material.

He has been one of my favorite professors I've ever had! He's hilarious and easily keeps you engaged and interested in what he's saying. He does have a fairly thick accent, but I've had no trouble understanding what he's saying. He writes a lot of it on the board anyway. He definitely knows what he's talking about and is very passionate about it.

Do attend his lectures, he is hilarious. Skeleton power point notes. Heavy accent, from Sierra Leone, but a world traveler with an open mind. Did not even open the textbook. One big research paper, and one big group project/presentation at the end of the semester. Quizes and exams about the normal difficulty. Fine as long as you go to class.

Peter was super funny, and his class was interesting. All of his notes are on blackboard, but he leaves some things blank so you have to come to class. As long as you come to class and pay attention you will pass with no problem.

Gives great perspective on the subject coming from a different cultural background than most American citizens.

He is one of my favorite teachers. There are some quizzes, but if you pay attention and use the notes HE GIVES YOU ONLINE to fill in you should be fine. He is fascinating and I learned so much, he provides real experiences that relates to what we are talking about and has good lectures. One group project and big paper, not too hard of a grader.

Tests come straight from the notes, notes are fill-in-the-blank powerpoints. There's a group paper and an individual paper you're given the semester to work on. I enjoyed the class and really learned a lot.

By far one of the best professors I've had so far as a freshmen at Columbus State. I took his class after spending over 2 hours with my least favorite math professor, Tharp. Professor Sesay He made studying Sociology a really special experience, and I would recommend him to any student. Absolutely phenomenal ^_^

If you have take SOC take this class. So what if he has a hard accent? Did that stop anyone from understanding his material? No only if you're stupid then yes! He is inspirational teaches well. Makes you question. Makes everyone get involved in a group project. He is fair and understanding. The work is simple if you attend class and pay attention.

Hes a good professor but he has an attitude. his class is skeleton notes. he has labs that are literally completion grades. Quizzes are fairly easy if you study. Exams are hard but if you study good you should be okay. He gives you study guides with the exact things he will test you on . 10 points EC at the end. gives answers to some ?'s on exams.

Great professor! He does speak pretty fast so keeping up with him in class means paying attention and showing up! Attendance is important because he gives quizzes and that aren't always marked on his syllabus. At the end there is a group project and research that is a big portion of the grade!

He is very funny and this class is interesting every time I go. I would 100% recommend this teacher. Very knowledgeable and knows what he's talking about.

Solid professor. You have to study for quizzes and do papers to pass but they are all very easy. He is passionate in what he teaches and it shows. The only downside to this class is that he never took the time to even learn his students names. Quizzes were passed back by going up to take them when he calls your name.

He says you have to work hard to fail his class, and that's pretty accurate. Everything is multiple choice. He reuses quiz questions. And as long as you do the assignments you'll probably get an A. Only downside to this prof is he doesn't really send emails or put announcements on blackboard.

Challenges your thought processes for sure, but could listen to his lectures as long as needed! Exercises were sometimes worded in difficult to understand or tricky.

His accent is kind of thick because he is a Native African so that took a little getting used to. All around a great guy, very much loves his field. Will crack jokes that catch you off guard. He teaches a lot of sections so emails sometimes fall through the cracks so be persistent with that. Hes flexible about assignments usually too.

His intro to sociology class was veryyy easy. Almost all of the graded content is quizzes and tests but they're easy and not a lot of points or time consuming. He doesn't respond to emails so if you need to talk to him make sure to let him know during class so he'll schedule a meeting. He's also laid back, caring, and has positive energy.

Professor Karim-Sesay is truly my favorite professor at CSCC. His lectures are not only funny, but interesting. I refuse to miss one. He grades fairly, and I dont find him to bog us down with lots of homework. He makes the reading material easy to follow after his powerpoints. I am actually excited to his classes.

I took the classes online and it was amazingly simple. Most of your grades will be small quizzes at the end of each chapter and really easy discussion boards. If you want to pass this class with a good grade this is your professor.

cool professor. if you email about something specific his answers will be very short (like, 5 words or less) but its pretty easy to pass this class if you read the book and take the quizzes

There is a lot of reading in this class and without reading you will fail. I don't think this class would be hard if you took it as a 12 week term, but I took it as an 8 week term. I definitely bit of a little more than I could chew. As an elective I was expecting for it to be a little less workload heavy. Good luck and I hope this helps!

The class is easy just read the textbook and do the quizzes on each chapter. Discussion boards are also based on what's already in the textbook. Basically just the read the book and you'll be fine. Easiest A I've ever earned.

Professor Karim gives really good lectures and relates things that we talk about in his class to his life, and always makes the class interesting. There are few assignments every week, and the class is predictable. Professor is nice and charismatic. Would recommend.

Took online course. I didn't talk much with the prof But I highly recommend because the class was nice. You knew what was due when it was due and could work weeks ahead if you wanted. Organization of this class was a 1000/10. Unmatched in my expirence.

I did not turn in assignments for a couple of weeks because of personal issues and he was really understanding. He even let me take a midterm late, highly recommend.

If I could be honest with this Professor, he is straightforward, good at understanding, and offers extra credits with work with proof of reason. However, his emails don't look professional and answer an average of 4-7 days. His online class is basically where you do your work independently most of the time.

Honestly super easy class and communication was easy for me I know some people had problems but overall he's pretty laid back, and understanding definitely one of the better teachers at CSCC

The only downside to this class is that the tests are monitored. However, the work is not difficult; it is mostly quizzes (not monitored) and a couple discussions. All of the information comes from short videos and the provided online textbook. Overall, nice professor! Most of the work is automatically graded so you will get very little feedback.

Her class starts 2 weeks later then the other class beginning of the semester but also gives you time to adjust your other classes too. You just need to turn in your work on time and expect to pass the course and you don't need to worry about the assignments if you turn it in very early.

Peter is an amazing instructor and gives you a whole packet prior to exams so you know exactly what you need to study. A very nice and caring instructor.

I personally did not do very well in this class due to the first 2 exams but that was completely my fault. I took thus class online and he was extremely helpful and understanding. He moved back due dates constantly, he was a fast responder, and if you had a valid excuse for something he would let it go no question. LOVE THIS MAN WOULD RECOMMEND!!

I took this class online, and it was a great class. The professor was very fast to grade and respond to emails. It's important to read the textbook in this class, but it wasn't too much reading. The tests were a little hard, but not that much harder than the quizzes. Be prepared to write on two of the tests, however.

Honestly one of my favorite teachers this semester. He was so funny and his lectures weren't hard to follow or find. He didn't assign more than one or two assignments for the whole week, neither of which were hard, though the Inquisitive can be a little time consuming. Don't have to read the textbook necessarily, either. Fantastic professor.

If you're going to take this class take it in person. Peter is a really good teacher, and there is never the need to write big long definitions, because he'll let you know what you need to know. The study guides are just like the test. But make sure you still show up to class because there are quite a few in class activities worth 10 pts each.

I found his class really enjoyable to attend, and overall, the course was quite easy. He used to provide a review sheet before the midterm and finals, which was really a good thing, and it helped me get A's on my exams. But the lectures were too heavy; for me, he was one of the good professors this semester.
