I took this class during the summer, and am really glad I did! Mr. Keep was a really fun lecturer. Even though the class was really long, he was fun and interesting and made it easy to understand stats.
He was a great teacher! he really wanted his stuentds to learn and do well in his class. He trys to help you get the grade you want as much a possible. very nice and chill guy.
Great teacher! Could have actually used more HWK but only because I lack self discipline. Not only was he great at explaining mathematics he was helpful, kind, and entertaining.
I never liked math and I always struggled but he had so much passion he was the only math teacher to ever get me excited and he tryied to get me to understand without getting annoyed I would say I highly recommended him
Mr Keep is a great teacher. If you dont understand something , he will happily go over it until you get it. He is also very nice and funny. He is a great math teacher.
Great prof! he's super helpful and is great at explaining the material. I would definitely recommend him!
Good teacher, I actually liked this class. He's funny and smart and knows how to explain things a few different ways.
Explains a lot without the textbook, so he ends up talking about topics instead of just lecturing. Really good explanations. Always wants to help students out. Homework is mostly completion grades.
Mr. Keep is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He not only makes algebra crystal clear but is super funny, too! You'll actually enjoy this class even if you're not a big fan of math. His stories are the best. Highly recommend him!
He is a really good teacher especially when a student asks for him to elaborate further. At times he confuses you by giving too much information. He's really into math but overall a good teacher and is willing to help you.
Horrible don't take his class. Save your GPA!
AMAZING TEACHER HELPFUL AND VERY POLITE. KEPT CLASS INTERESTING AND WAS VERY EASY TO FOLLOW!
Professor keep is the man! If you need a good, knowledgeable, funny teacher he's your guy. He's very helpful, he doesnt give a ton of homework. Its a easy "A" all you have to do is sit there and listen and this man will get it done for you.
All he does is teach poorly and he really doesn't help at all and just talks about Canada and also irrelevant stories that don't pertain to math
He's really good at keeping your attention. As long as you go to class you'll do well.
very good teacher and always ready to help students. I will definitely recommend him. Take him.
Peter is such a helpful Stats professor. I hated math before taking this class. He helps you through if you're struggling, and really wants you to succeed. Show up to every class if you want to do well. He is young, funny, and cute. I genuinely enjoyed going to class!
Mr. Keep is really nice and really helpful. Homework is extra credit, there is a mix of individual, small group, and class quizzes, and tests are challenging but not tricky.
If you don't take this teacher then you are an idiot. Mr. Keep loves his job and does a great job at breaking down the material. He engages the class meaning participation is required. Show up to class, study, and you will do great.
Professor Keep is amazing I wish I could take him for all my math classes! The homework was extra credit which helped your grade. There were 3 tests and a final. Tests were half multiple choice half free response. The clas can be hard to understand but Keep really explains it to make it easy and he is willing to work with you if you need extra help
Best math professor at moraine! He is so smart, helpful, and CUTE! The tests were extremely hard, but he helps you if you have questions. He does many examples and explains them so you can understand the material. If you don't attend class, you will fail. He can solve my functions any time :) He was seriously such a babe!
I usually struggle with math to at least some extent and I was really nervous especially since his class was my first math course at mvcc but he's honestly been one of my favorite teachers i've ever had. He's very straightforward and helpful in class and is more than willing to answer any questions. If you have the option to definitely TAKE HIM
Take him! The homework is extra credit for 141 ! He is a great teacher and cares about your grade ! He's funny and serious for the times that are appropriate!
he's good, he goes off on tangents but they mostly end up relating to class and it keeps things interesting
Great Teacher! Test are really difficult , wish he just provided a study guide for each exams. Would have helped greatly.
Second time with this professor and enjoyed it just as much. He is seriously the best professor ever! The beginning was hard, because limits can be confusing, but once u get into the semester the class gets A LOT EASIER (I thought personally). He is more then willing to help and gives out extra credit opportunities. Trust me Keep is the best! 100%
it's calculus so it's hard but mr. keep is really helpful especially if you ask him questions. go to office hours and ask questions in class. the extra credit homework is good to help your grade because the tests are hard. i thought i was gonna fail but he helped me get a C!
Mr. Keep was by far my favorite teacher that I had my first semester of college. He actually cares about his student, and he gives grade updates to know exactly where you are in his class. He is really passionate about math and is a little bit quirky but he is so much fun. I am signing up for another one of his classes.
Great teacher! I am a math hater and he makes class fun and interesting. He is young and seriously hilarious and the way he teaches makes me not dread going to class. The material is hard so you do have to do your work but I can't picture any other teacher being as great as this guy. You need the textbook for homework problems. Take him!
Best math teacher I've ever had. He makes math fun and also helps you understand the subject. If you have trouble, he takes time to help out and makes sure everyone understands the concepts. Taking him again for the summer!
I never leave reviews for anything but for Keep I have to. Business calculus is a super tough class but he makes it somewhat enjoyable and really comfortable. All the homework is extra credit, is extremely fair with grading tests and is an amazing teacher. If you keep up with the homework you'll be fine! He's super cute and funny so bonus, right?!
Keep is a great professor, always there for his students. I took his math 145 class, and lets face it, calculus is a hard class. His test are fairly hard, you need to put effort in, its calculus!! I just read some of his tweets and now it makes sense why some of his test were so difficult! But overall he is a great professor! #amgrading
Very good professor, cares about his students, attendance is not mandatory, got an A. Also provides extra credit for hmw. Reccomend!
Keep was good, he knows his stuff and did a good job explaining things. He was good at answering questions, and kept calc a bit laid back so it wasn't as intimidating. And he's pretty cute too, I could watch him write on the board all day!
Amazing professor! I am terrible at math and he is very helpful and explains well. Go to class and do the homework and you should be good. Just be sure to also use outside sources like youtube. I was able to pass Business Calc which is a miracle considering I suck at math. Professor is very generous and understanding. I would definitely recommend !
DO NOT TAKE KEEP! Awful calculus teacher.
Great professor. You can tell he really cares about his students. Homework is extra credit so that's a plus! Although calc is a tough subject, he makes it very understandable and easy to grasp. Tests are kind of hard but if you attend the lectures and go over quizzes you can easily pass.
Usually I like math but Mr. Keep makes this class so easy he can explain to you anything you would like but you have to keep following with him this is math class (calculus) don't be late or texting you won't get anything do your homework write everything and you will get A
Great teacher. I am not the best at math but I was was able to do very well in his class. Very friendly and always willing to explain things thoroughly.
He is funny and nice and willing to help you if you ask for help. The homework is extra credit. College algebra is not that easy so you got to study!
Business calc is hard but Keep was really good all semester. He makes class interesting and is really cool. Stuidy for tests and keep up with homework and ask questions, for real his explanations are so good.
Horrible! All he does is lecture and the only things taken for grades are the tests which are incredibly hard. He talks so much that it is near impossible to pay attention the whole time. Not very good at explaining things whatsoever.
Don't know what the other guy is talking about. Ask any question and Keep will answer. Easy class if you pay attention, come to class, and turn in the homework.
Mr. Keep is the best math teacher I've ever had! I had him for business calc and calc 1, I wish he taught calc 2 and 3 as well because he makes things so easy to understand! If you miss a class, you wont get penalized, but you will miss that day's worth of notes (which is horrid). Homework is extra credit, but it helps ALOT with the quizzes & tests
He's good in what he's doing for sure. He's a little bit fast but if you do understand he surely will help you out.
Despite me not clashing well with his teaching style, he is still a great professor. If you have a short attention span, then he is not the professor for you (2 hr long lectures). He really takes the time to explain, and answers questions, especially homework questions. Textbook is only for homework. Lets you use your phone for the calculator.
Great professor and he definitely knows what he's teaching. He's very helpful if you have questions and takes the time to answer them. The homework is extra credit and attendance is not mandatory however you will not find it easy if you skip classes. His tests were pretty hard but if you attend all the classes and do the homework you'll be fine.
He speaks a little fast but he is a very smart and intelegent teacher that will make sure he gets the point across to you.
He is a great, caring person. But I took him for calculus and I must say he could improve on the way he explains everything. He does not give step by step instructions on how to solve the problems. That I feel is a necessity for such a hard class.
I normally don't write reviews but Professor Keep was AMAZING! Class is hard but he is willing to help and super nice! 100% recommend!!
I had him for college algebra and calc. He's a super nice guy and come across as the "cool" teacher. Don't let that fool you though because he's seriously one of the worst teachers I've had. I spent EVERYDAY in the tutoring center, went to class, did all the homework and barely passed. His tests are NOTHING like the homework. This is an honest rate
Read the book ask questions and do the work and calculus wont be too bad. If you ask quesitons he'll explain everything really well. The first while in the class is hard but you get used to calculus as you go and if you work hard you'll be fine.
Good class but it's really hard to get at first. I didn't get the first half but started figuring it out in the second half. Listen carefully when he talks since his lectures are more than just whats written on the board. Take lots of notes and make sure you REALLY understand everything before you get to the tests
first exam is pretty hit or miss, but don't let that discourage you. He takes your lowest exam score and replaces it with the final. All homework is optional and is taken as extra credit. Has solid meeting times and can be found easily for help. Lots of take home and group quizzes. Gives a good environment to learn in, makes class laid back.
I strongly dont recommend this professor. He isnt good at explaining the material. Moves at an extremely fast pace. I also had him for college algebra and he has different approaches to each class. Friendly guy but not very sympathetic when it comes to the grading. He wont round grades and the homework is nothing like the exams.
Nice guy, grades assignments fast. Homework is extra credit but recommended to do it because it helps with the class. gives a lot of group quizzes. He rushes at times. Only bad thing about him is that his handwriting is bad so make sure you sit in the front of the room.
He gives a ton of partial credit and points on tests. Tests are pretty hard, just make sure you study well. Homework is all extra credit which helps your grade. Quizzes are super easy and half the time he lets you do it with a partner. He kind of rushes through his explanations so always ask questions. He's a great teacher and a really nice guy.
I'm not good at math at all, but Mr. Keep did an excellent job teaching and answering any questions you asked him.
When it comes to taking calculus one, I do not recommend this teacher. Most of the students were failing the class and the professor didn't even care. The professor does not care about whether you fail or pass. Also shows no mercy when it comes to grading. Very challenging and mentally draining class. You have been warned.
Professor Keep is a good teacher, but sometimes he is too smart. He expect you to remember all algebra and trigonometry rules. Extra credit for doing homework which is very helpful. Not so many problem examples in a class-you have to study by your own a lot. Do the homework, study his examples, and review all algebra and trig rules before every test
Not the best calc Professor. For the exams he isnt clear on what type of multiple choice questions to expect. You lose majority of the point on exams because its all theory based. Will not round you. Not very sympathetic towards his students and I found that weird given his young age. Most students will feel lost after the lectures. Run away!
I was let down by the professors capabilities to teach the material in an understanding way to say the least. I felt so much anxiety in his calc course. I would study every night for the course a lengthy period and it still wasnt enough for his exams. The multiple choice questions on the exams are unbelievable In difficulty.
It's a hard class but it's calculus so of course its hard. Ask questions and try to actually learn the big ideas instead of just knowing how to do problems. it took me halfway through the semester to figure out that just doing examples isnt enough, I had to actually understand things. Tests are hard but just prepare for them and you'll be fine
Great lectures, goes thoroughly over problems, is pretty funny. 5 tests, each worth 100 points. 15 quizzes worth 5-10 points. All quizzes are easy/most are group quizzes. Tests are hard but he gives a lot of partial credit. I got every free response wrong for a test and got an 87. Gives 20-25 points extra credit. Will help after class if needed.
I'm not very good with math in general and prof Keep is the best teacher I've had for this subject. Perfect layout of notes when he's writing it up on the board. Awesome explainer. Very clear with what he wants on his tests/quizzes/HW. CANADIAN! He has awesome humor and encourages conversation. Enjoyed class very much. Do HW, ask questions.
he's very nice and has a lot of enthusiasm and energy for math. calculus is hard but i learned so much and i felt like it helped a lot in calc2
He is a very nice guy but he moves WAY too fast during lectures. His tests are extremely hard and since he only grades you off mostly tests, you'll most likely fail.
He is nice knows his stuff, but he teaches very fast during lectures and gives a lot of hw that is extra credit for very little points. He gives out no study guides for tests and quizzes. If you are like me and do not like math or you are new to calc, this is not the professor I would recommend to start with.
Peter is awesome. He's super positive and always ready to answer questions. Do the homework for extra credit because it helps your grade and helps you get ready for tests. Lots of quizzes so make sure you stay on top of it
I'm taking him again for Cal2 probably. I asked a lot of questions and he always had good answers that made us understand things more. Wish he gave longer breaks in class lol but really his class is great
Wonderful teacher. He takes his time to make sure that you are understanding. I only needed to take calc 1, but if i needed anymore math, i would absolutely take him again.
He is the best possible biz calc teacher to take a MVCC. Still a really tough class. Homework is for extra credit, but do it. If math isnt your thing then be prepared to go to his office hours a lot. Hes super friendly and very helpful, do yourself a favor and study for all the tests as much as possible.
hard exams. homework is extra credit. does not negotiate ur grade.
Professor Keep is a very knowledgeable person. He is the biggest nerd ever when it comes to math which keeps his class interesting because it is a very long class. Homework is extra credit which helps a ton for your final grade and for the tests themselves.
He is a good teacher and explains everything thoroughly. But his tests are so hard. He picks all the problems that are impossible to solve. Too much homework questions. However, doing homework is optional and counts as 4% extra credit, which is awesome. Another good thing, most of his quizzes are group ones or open notes. But tests are haaard.
Hard class but there's extra creditst homework and he'll answer all your questions. I went to office hours and I think that helped. He answers every question.
I HATE any kind of math, so taking business calc was definitely going to suck for me, I was so close to dropping after one week because of the material, but prof keep is an outstanding math teacher. he explains everything so clearly and makes everything easy to understand. i am super shy, but i was comfortable enough to ask him questions. THE BEST
Hes really hard, he expects you to just know things like algebra and trig and barely covers that stuff because "it's a prerequisite." Also on tests he expects you to know the theorems and stuff for the concept questions. I took a week off for a trip and didn't know what was going on when I came back so I dropped.
Mr. Keep is a really kind professor. He's always glad to help you with any questions you have. He does go fast in lecture sometimes, but you can just ask him to explain. Attendance is not mandatory and the h.w. counts as extra credit. Quizzes and tests are a bit tough but mirror the h.w. problems. If you do the h.w. and study, you'll do fine.
BEST BIS CALC TEACHER! i struggled with calc my senior year of highschool and took Keep my first semester at moraine, passed with an A. Sometimes he made jokes and no one laughs but its the thought that counts. He explains everything clearly and its easy to understand. Wish he taught stats cause I would most definitely take him again. Hes a gem
Answers every one of your questions. I took one of his tests with the flu and a high fever and still got an A. Best math professor ever
Peter is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He is always willing to answer your questions until you understand what is going on which I never experienced before with a teacher. Homework is extra credit but I would do it in order to study. Quizzes are pretty easy and tests are a little difficult but manageable. Definitely take him !!!
Just go to class, take good notes, and ask questions. Peter will explain everything. The beginning was hard with limits at first, but I got it eventually, and the rest wasn't so bad. I always heard calc was insanely hard, but I didn't think it was that bad. Just do the work.
Calc 1/2. Very chill, gets that the courses are tough. Grade is 4 exams & final, e.c. for completion on homework, replaces lowest test w. final. Didnt benefit too much from the lectures, too much to teach in that time. Expect to be teaching yourself a little (use pauls notes and symbolab) to do well. Take pics of book q's at library to save money
He doesn't explain good, tests are super hard, what he explain in the class nothing like his tests , he super fast , taugh grader , if you not good in math don't take him.
his teaching style is straight forward: explain the equations, show examples, then assign the homework which is optional, but extra credit(thumbs up). He then goes over the problems in class so you should do the homework. Overall he is pretty good and enthusiastic about math which helped stay motivated in class. Take him! Caring and explains all!
Hard class. Doesnt teach well. You have to work on yourself too much. Not everything is explained Not taking him again
I passed because of online resources, I took him because others rated him well. Guy has a really hard time getting to the point and does not explain the material well. Not even worth listening to him in lecture because he can't explain concepts for his life. Nice guy, bad teacher.
Keep is one of those people that's a great person and wants to see you succeed, but as time passes during a day's lecture he gets progressively faster and the topics become more difficult to discern how to solve or approach them due to his over-enthusiasm of math as a whole. Overall not bad, but if math isn't your strong suit I'd try a diff prof
Mr Keep is a very nice guy and a good teacher. He cares about his students and is always positive and happy. He ALWAYS gives time for any questions. Yes, he is fast in his lectures, but he is passionate about what he is teaching and as I said, you can always stop him to ask questions. Hw is extra credit. Exams are kinda tough, but are similar to hw
Mr. Keep is a great teacher for Calculus 2. He can teach concepts and, more importantly, teach why these concepts work. He can also answer your questions very well. Your grade is mostly dependent on your performance on quizzes and exams; meaning that your grade is very volatile. He gives extra credit if you turn in optional homework.
His 150 is close to impossible to pass! I'm a straight A student, including other math, chemistry, and physics classes. All A grades. I do not recommend him, and will never take any of his classes. If you take his class, be ready to fail.
do not take him. he makes everything so complicated and teach you like you know tge stuff not like you might not know it. he teaches so fast and teach a lot during one lecture. so many quizzes and his Exam are impossinle to solve.
Peter's class is great. He's really thorough and goes through the material quickly but in a lot of detail. Do all of the homework, even through you don't HAVE to. Lots of quizzes that are pretty easy if you just keep up with the course. Exams aren't bad either.
Peter was genuinely my favorite professor I have ever had at Moraine. Even though Calc 2 is a very hard subject, he explained everything so well. He helped me so much throughout the semester by answering all my questions. Lots of quizzes and 4 exams plus a final. Sometimes the quizzes are group quizzes! The final was a little hard though!
I have been a straight A student my entire life up until taking Professor Keeps Calc course. The exams were unbelievably difficult. I honestly put in so much time and effort into studying for this class but it made no differences when exams would come. Trust me when I tell you we only had ten students left in the course at the end of the semester.
Honestly, not easy, but no one should expect calculus to be as easy as geometry. Keep's class is very well organized. one exam and two quizzes each chapter. If you really want to learn Calculus well, peter's class is a good choice. There are still around 20 in my class at the end of the semester, lol...
I was able to pass the class because I kept myself on a tight schedule. He expected you to do all homework and tests on time. He was a good grader and gave good feedback.
The teacher was respectful, but his lectures did not help at all on quizzes or exams, most of them are old videos. I ended up getting a B in his class, but I really had to work for it. I got As in every other math class Ive taken, so I think his class was unnecessarily hard. It didnt happen to me, but if he thinks your cheating HE WILL FAIL YOU!
Honestly had a pretty good online class. He streamed his office hours on twitch and made them pretty fun and the class was organized so you always know what you need to do. The labs were a little hard but he helped a lot and it was cool to see it all once you finished. Most of my other classes sucked lol but Prof Peter was cool
He doesn't explain the material, keeps skipping steps and expects us to understand. His tests are super hard, his tests doesn't correlate with his notes.
He helps a lot on all of the program labs and just wants to make sure we know whats going on. There aren't any exams, and we can retake the checkups to get a better grade. Prof Peter has the nicest policy for calculus grading that I've ever seen.
Easy class, if you don't do well on something you can just redo it at the middle or end of the semester for full credit. No exams. Proffessor Peter was really nice and easy to talk to, not all online classes are like that. Tonns of extra resources to use
Professor P is so nice and just wants everyone to learn and do well and was probably the only prof I had that really cared about how I was doing in the class. You get to try again on pretty much everything, even though they're different versions with different questions its still not hard if you just listen to his comments
He is a really sweet guy. He had office hours on Discord a few times a week. He genuinely wants his students to do well. He responds quickly and always gives good feedback (:
I was scared of this class at first. I never did computer code and so seeing that in the labs I was nervous, and I heard that calc2 was really hard. Labs are actually ok, I kind of like them. Peter gives lots of feedback on checkups, and you can re-take them to improve your grade. He seems like he really wants you to learn and not give you exams
After taking professor peter for calc 1 I can honestly say it was not how I expected it to go, after watching his lecture videos they made absolutely made no sense and did not go along with any of the exams or quizzes, or checkups as he calls them. the textbook was very hard to understand. I was excited to take the class bc the good reviews. don't
Calculus is not meant to be easy so expect yourself to study. The professor was the best in the math department and I recommend him. There will be 12 checkups and all of them are not monitored but they do really test how much you understand in terms of the content for 50 points. I didn't really understand anything from his lecture videos.
Classes are long but we break up the time with group activities and discussions too which is nice I guess. You can retake anything until you get it right, and there seem to be lots of options for how to show him that we're learning calculus. It's weird to say, but it seems like Prof Peter's goal is to get us all to learn calculus lol
Best teacher ever can retake quizzes over and over and homework is not graded
Prof Peter gives out extremely hard problems. You need to completely understand the material in order to answer questions he gives you on checkups. He allows you to retake literally anything throughout the entire course. Many students hate his teaching style because they don't put in the time to actually learn the material.
Personally, I loved Professor Keep. He preferred to be called Professor Peter, but he was an awesome teacher. Super reasonable, and helped me get good at calculus. I struggled with Pre-Calculus, but Keep made calculus pretty easy. His grading scale was different, but really showed if you knew what you were doing or not. Always gave feedback.
Professor Peter was an awesome professor and taught the class well. He grades a little weird but allowed us to retake quizzes if you don't show up to class you aren't going to pass. The whole lecture is just practicing new concepts. The class is hard but as long as you pay attention and study you should be fine.
This class is basically entirely self taught through pre-recorded lectures which is not what I expected or wanted at all in a calculus class. All practice or example problems provided were also extremely complex compared to outside sources that I used to learn the material, practice problems aren't really useful would recommend a different prof.
Keep is excellent professor took him for both calc 1 and 2 grades are a little weird and all grades are quizzes. No letter grading on quizzes either you get it or you don't. Calc is definitely hard so don't expect to not study and pass.
best class setup ever. basically no hw, u can retake quizzes as many times as you want. No final exam, just a full day dedicated to retaking any of the quizzes from the entire year. He LOVES math, so he's happy to help whenever u need. Super nice guy, I'm now minoring in math bc he made it so fun to learn (as a cs major who hated math before lol)
I never got a B in a math class before but I felt so confident in Cal 1 with Professor Peter. You can tell he really knows what he's doing when he set the class up and it's all focused around us learning and being flexible and gracious with how that happens. Like, it doesn't matter what timeline you're on as long as you eventually get it!
ive never considered actually rating a prof, but man professor peter's class compelled me to. BIG shoutout to this guy for actually caring abt students & teaching thru the lens of math's incredible nature as a subject. his system allows u to catch up to the material at ur own pace. the most kind/understanding human ever. wish more were like him.
Very understanding he was passionate about what he was teaching and taught it well. His grading criteria makes it so you can learn at your own pace and don't have to worry as much if you don't do well on a certain subject. He takes his time to teach you the material and has videos online to show it again. Such an amazing professor. Take him!
genuinely the worst professor ever. no matter what you do, you'll fail. he doesn't help, doesn't provide notes, checkups are so difficult and different from lectures. his handwriting is awful and he knows that, he's weird. no homework, your grade solely depends on the checkups that are impossible. the ratings are cap, trust me. choose a diff pro.
My second time taking calculus and this is the most forgiving class Ive been in before. People stopped coming to class and the complained that they didn't understand stuff, but class time is when we actually learned math instead of just being lectured at we did a lot of things to learn and he was so helpful
He was a wonderful Professor. He really cares about his students, and wants them to grasp and understand the concepts of Calculus rather than just remembering how to do the problems. He gives no homework. Sometimes his lectures don't cover the material all the way, so watch the videos. They help a TON.
One of if not the best math teacher I have ever had.
Grading seemed weird but it was actually really clear what I needed to do to get an A. He cares about concepts a lot and I had to keep going back to old stuff we learned which really made me understand everything way better I think. There's no "homework" but do the practice problems definitely
He has an alternative grading system in which you have to pass a certain number of checkups for a particular letter grade. He does his best to explain math concepts in terms that students will understand and relate them to real life. He also posts helpful resources on his Canvas page.
Calculus 2 is apparently the hardest one, but Professor Keep made this a great course! He is passionate and well-organized, and his grading system is very forgiving if you're willing to revise your work (allows for retakes). He makes the content easy to understand and offers plenty of resources. If you want an A, it's simple to work towards.
Never thought I would do this well in calc 2 but Keep brought me through! And honestly the class was pretty cool, you can really tell why he likes these topics so much.
Prof Keep is a good teacher. I took calculus before in high school and found myself honestly a little more confused. He goes on tangents sometimes, his handwriting is hard to understand, and he uses a strange grading system. The quizzes weren't problems, but more like definitions. He is easy to talk to though, so overall Id say he is pretty good.
Amazing prof, the type to meet you halfway if you put in the effort. His class is tough, but for good reason. He really wants to you conceptually understand the material. Checkups are a combination of math problems and "explain your understanding". GO TO OFFICE HOURS. Highly recommend for engineering, math, or physics majors. Love ya, Peter!
Professor Peter's grading is completely different than what I was used to and it feels really hard to figure out, but now near the end of the semester I am really happy with it. He is really good at giving feedback on stuff you've done and it makes it so much easier to figure out mistakes and improve. He is really helpful in office hours too!
Professor Keep has an unconventional teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class can be rewarding. The lectures are focused on practicing concepts, and Unstuck AI was a great study aid. Attendance is mandatory, so be prepared to participate.
Lectures are a mess and leave you more confused, only grades are 7 Exams/Quizzes based on 20 standards. You need to meet the expectation on 19 for A, 16 for B...Extremely strict on standards with no partial credit, will ask vague question and expect scholarly responses. 0 feedback on mistakes, very very passive aggressive with students. TERRIBLE!!!
good class and hes very helpful
Stats was pretty easy as long as you keep up with the labs and stuff. Professor Keep helped us with the projects and let us record the presentation so we didn't have to do it in front of the class. Retake the tests and quizzes, easy A
Literally the best math teacher I have ever had. If you actually pay attention and show up to class you will leave with a very good understanding of all the material conceptually, and if you do the homework (which is optional) you will get very good computationally.
Checkups ask about things 'in general' or to explain a math concept in terms of something that has nothing to do with math. Doesn't give homework and I thought that would be a good thing but that just means you don't get practice out of class since his checkups don't really have much to ask on solving a problem but more of 'how' or 'why' you would.
I had a lot of fun in this class. There's a lot of time to work with people around you and the activity book means you can kinda work ahead or be a bit behind without any real issues, so the class sessions feel really relaxed. Some lecture, lots of activities. Do the practice problems and the book website is really good, look there first.
