Not a bad prof. Work gets a bit overwhelming at times. Very helpful.
Nice guy, quiz once a week, but easy class
the best teacher ever in anythign i've ever taken
Excellent techer. Very clear and extremely helpful. One of the best at Marist.
Tremendous teacher; will not quit until you understand; workload is fair
very unclear and unable to explain the material other than initial presentation
doens't teach, helps only if u ask4 it, work is tedious-sometimes overwhelming
This guy's damn good at what he does. Teaches material clearly and will help you
nice guy, very helpful, weekly homework that is harshly graded
He's the devil. Grades very harshly and only helps when you go to him for help.
NOT A FAN OF THIS MAN! DOES NOT LIKE WHEN HIS STUDENTS DO GOOD!
He thinks he's great b/c of a PhD. Doesn't teach, hard tests, bad attitude!
Does not teach, material is tough, definetely go to office hours, fair grader
Doesn't teach, hard grader, effort doesn't count. STAY AWAY
nice guy, teaching style wasnt my thing though
seems like a good guy, tries to be funny but isnt, no attedance policy, hard tests but fair grader
no attendance policy, but recommend you go to every class, you learn a lot. efforts count, bcoz final can be waived if you do well throughtout the semester, never check hw, but quiz every week. the tests are not too difficult if you study.
explains consepts thoughly, good teacher, must work for grade, always willing to help
the very reason i hate math.
THE best math teacher i ever had, he explains very well & will answer any question, take him!
cool guy, good teacher, if you get a 93 or higher you're exempt from final
He can be really weird but i learned alot. I signed up for his stats class, so he didn't like scare me away........
Great prof! Dr. Pepper's isomorph! Galois has nothing on him. His solution of equations by radicals was -- like Radical! His Ruler and Compass demo -- awesome. Won't accept encrypted homework.
Never checks HW,Quizzes should help grade and tests are managable if you study (Index Card to help on all tests and final);Class ave. can be an F but if you get an A on your final then you get a A for the class. Good policies, fair grader and great teacher
dont take him he is terrible. I hate him so much
do not take this guy.he hates atletes .I barely passed. he goes through everythign so fast and his tests are so hard..if you are awesome at math he will still be a chalange
he goes so fast so that if you miss one class you are already so far behind and his test are soooo hard...

fun guy, hard work. i'd take him for sheer comedic value, as i saw today. but good teacher, if youve gotta take a math, go for krog
No Comments
All I have to say is DAMN!...love the hair! take him because he is a good math teacher too BUT DAMN!..
he is a great teacher! he likes everyone...well, he sorta looks down on us yankee fans, but that's ok, he's still a great guy! he's funny and he makes math interesting! and yes he has nice hair.
This guy sucked so bad. moves way to fast. thinks hes funny. too much homeowork. i failed the class. took it at suny farmingdale, got an A.
He's an alright guy; he gets the point across really well and doesn't take attendance but the weekly quizzes are a pain.
i have mixed feelings about the krogster, i did think he was pretty funny, his quizzes were a pain in the ass, the tests were difficult, having the class at 8 didn't help, but if you can get it later in the day, i'd take krog again
funny teacher. moves a little fast but explains clearly.quizzes once a wk. grading is very fair & therefore its easy to do well in his class. homework isnt mandatory but helps you with quizzes and tests. very good teacher.
Class material was kinda hard but Krog made it easier. He was helpful on the most part, he made himself very approachable. Sometimes goes too fast, but you catch on after a while. Grading was very fair.
Great guy! Deff. best professor ive had at Marist. Easy to confront and ask questions. Is there to help you. Good amount of work, but if you do it, you'll do great. Absolutely recommend!
Very hard concepts that he taught very well. If you pay attention in well you will learn the concepts. Study you will get an A. Posting the tests online with the answers afterwards is also a very cool move. Makes studying a lot easier for the final
Prof Krog is a good teacher, he goes a little fast at times but definitely knows his stuff. I like his poilicies too (attendance, hw, ect) he actually treats you like an adult in that regard, something I wish more professors would do. I recommend him.
This guy is a great teacher. Teacher being the key word. Was always available to meet during office hours and was a tremendous help. If he sees you putting in an effort he will make sure you do well. If you are willing to put in work I recommend him.
In order to learn you have to see him one on one. He goes very fast in class and only does a few examples. Good grade policy. Not the worst there is.
nice guy, just was glad i took calc in high school or else probably would've struggled in the class as it seemed the rest of the class did, homework not too much, quiz every week but quiz problems are from the hw, 3 tests
Krog is the best math teacher i've had yet!! Tremendously smart and knowlegeable, great teacher: overheads, posting exam answers, website.... very friendly and helpful.... You'll have to study hard and do the work but that should be a given in college!
has an obbession with chalk board erasers and furnature, krog-ger is a rly good teacher, funny and you will learn if you pay attention
Krog is a great guy, the material is hard but he teaches it well...best math teacher i've ever had, he is friendly and easily approachable if you need help
GREAT teacher! Probably the best math professor I have ever had. He treats you as equals, he explains everything very well, and does several examples. One homework assignment a week, two tests and the final. Definately take him if you get the chance!
GREAT grading policy!!! Quiz every week, drops the lowest two. Quiz average counts as a test grade. 2 big tests, then drops the lowest of those and the quiz average. If ur average is 93+ then ya dont have to take the final. Do better on the final than ur average, get that grade for the class.Take it
Extremely fair grader and thoroughly covers material. If you do well on your homework and exams, you get out of the final. Attendance is optional, but if you want to do well on the homework you will need to be in class.
he wants you to do well in his class and he is always available to give help about any questions. attendance is optional but he explains things in class way better than the book does, so if you take notes in class tests are easy. grading policy is very helpful to students. take him, he's a good guy.

worst teacher EVER. barely teaches material, weekly quizzes are annoying. better than old man kelly, but still a REALLY BAD TEACHER. DON'T take him if you have a choice.
He is a wonderful teacher. He takes time to explain everything clearly and def keeps your attention. Grading is fair and he makes class interesting. Best math teacher I ever had!
This can be a difficult course but Krog puts it across very nicely. I had a great time in class and felt very comfortable asking questions and not feeling stupid. Homeworks and tests were fairly difficult but it made you think and collaborate and figure it out as opposed to brainlessly doing a problem. Very helpful and a great teacher!
The best math teacher I have ever had. Really clear, cut and dry. He's got a sense of humor too. Weekly quizes, occasional tests. Somehow, makes math intersting.
The material itself for a nonmath inclined person can get pretty difficult, however he explains everything very well and gives many chances to get a good grade. For extra help he will break it down for you and all of the steps. Tests are difficult at times, will be very picky with points and take points off for almost nothing. Overall, a great prof
dr. krog is fantasic. he's a really thorough professor, covers material fast but well, and he's really helpful if you go to him for questions or even go to his math lab hours. he's definitely always willing to help you if you're struggling. he has a short attention span, but he's really nice. weekly quizzes are annoying but hey, math is hard...
good teacher...doesnt take attendance...you have a quiz once a week but the questions are taken from the homework, which you can ask questions on before the quizzes
calc is so hard but he's a really good teacher. awesome grading policy and he can even make you laugh sometimes bc he's really goofy. but def a really good guy and a very good teacher. idk what i had a horrible prof for calc1 and didn't learn anything, so when i had him for calc2 he was really helpful and walked me through and i learned a lot.
Krog is a great teacher for this course. He doesn't use just textbook examples, so you get a wider range of practice problems. The course itself is pretty hard because it requires a lot of creative reasoning, but Krog is a fair grader and he gives you hw problems that might be on the test. You can also hand in hw corrections to raise your grade
Krog is the man. Stats is really boring but it's going to be no matter who you take. He is so clear about everything he teaches and goes at a very fair pace. He is always available to help and a really great guy. Take him if you have to take stats!
had for calc w/ management apps...quizes once a week 2-3 problems from hw done and he went over...final is cumulative...i dont work well with math but teacher explains well
hair is fantastic less split ends then me.. as for calc does not teach material thoroughly before exams
Awesome teacher. best math teacher i have ever had. just do the hw and u will pass no prob. highly recommend.
if you do not know anybody in this class you will not do well...if it is required make sure to get a hw buddy because hws are 50% of your grade and its tough, not to mention he is a tough grader...put in the time and effort and maybe just maybe you can walk away with the A
This class is not hard to do well in, IF you keep up with the work. He is more than willing to help you with anything you have trouble on. DO THE HOMEWORK... his quiz questions are from the assignments.
Great professor, very clear with his explanations. Its a boring subject but he does his best to keep it entertaining. Attendance isn't mandatory which makes it very easy to fall behind. Quizzes once a week, very easy. Overall a good class.
Had him for Calculus I. I guess he's a good teacher, when you have him just in class. Encourages people come to office hours but get ready to hear moans and sighs of angst as he has to explain something to you that, unfortunately, you didn't understand.
Calculus I is an extremely difficult class, at least for non math majors. Prof. Krog definitely goes through all of the theory behind calc as well as some practical applications when possible. It will be difficult to understand all of the material in class (since its 3 days per week especially) but Krog is exceptionally helpful during office hours
Had Krog for calculus-absolutely amazing teacher. If you make an effort to follow the lectures and think about it you will fully understand everything because he is great at explaining everything. Lets you fill out a notecard for reference on the exams. BEST MATH TEACHER IVE EVER HAD
Krog is a good teacher and he should be because he is chair of the Math Dept. Get up at 8 to take him. Everything is clear and his tests are very fair. Homework online is annoying and harder than the problems done in class. It's also rather tedious. He is a good teacher though so you will learn enough to do well on the final and bring your grade up
He knows his stuff, as the Chair of Mathematics should. Teaches the material way too fast. Gets impatient quick in office hours, and also is not very approachable. Take someone else if you can, unless you naturally understand mathematics.
I enjoyed his class! Took it at 8 and it wasn't bad. It's math so it's going to be a challenge but if you put in the effort, it's not too bad. He has office hours to help with questions. Homework is online; if you get a question wrong you can get another chance to submit for full credit. There are practice problems w/ explanations to help.
Krog is an amazing professor. Assigns homework every week on Web Assign and you have a week to complete the assignment. He gives you so many chances to pass his class. HE drops the five lowest homework's and the lowest test. If your final exam grade is higher than your current grade, you will get your final exam grade as your overall average.
I absolutely loved this guy. I took calculus in High school, however, I learned more in one week of Krog's class than I did in an entire year in hs. He goes in depth to help you understand the topic at hand and he is a very lenient grader. The homeworks do get to be a bit much but he averages them all as a test and then drops the lowest test grade.
This is such a difficult class. I am a math major and this class is 10x harder than Calculus I so be prepared. Chapter 11 is the hardest (Infinite Series). He is there for you though so take advantage of office hours. Test are very difficult and DO THE HOMEWORK. If you do the homework, your quizzes will be easy A's.
He explains everything with examples. He welcomes questions but just stands at the front, talks, and writes everything on the board. HW is online, don't buy the textbook but you need the online code. He seems unapproachable and impatient if you don't understand. He makes little jokes and lets you skip the final if your class grade is high enough
Professor Krog is the absolute best math teacher I have ever had. He is crystal clear during his lectures and is always available to help. Take advantage of his office hours because his homework is hard, but most of it is very doable. As long as you attend class and pay attention there should be no problem with the material.
Krog is a great professor but the Calculus I class is very hard. The good thing is that you have a chance to change that on the final exam. If you score a higher grade on your final, then that is the grade you'll receive as your overall score for the course. You could get F's during the semester, get an A on your final, and pass with an A!
Love Professor Krog! He makes an 8am class so much better. As for the lessons, he gives examples for each concept and ask questions to make sure everyone understands. For homework, it is online on Webassign and one hand-in from the textbook. Tips: go to class and DO your homework. His test questions are similar to homework questions.
Loved Krog! If you ever get the chance to take him, I would 100% recommend it. He's always ready and willing to help and he is very approachable.
He's great but there is a lot of work and the final is cumulative. He's funny and very helpful
I was dreading Calc 1 at 8 AM, but Krog made it work. Really knows his stuff and explains it clearly.
You have to go to every lecture. While a lot of his lectures are just long theorems, there are portions where he explains word problems which are on his tests. A lot of his tests for Calc 1 are difficult problems from webassign. You need to do every webassign and understand the material if you want to pass this class. Extremely hard final.
Explains things quickly but in depth to the point of simple algebra. If you pay attention in class you should be fine.
I had him for MATH210 and MATH310. He's always super prepared and very clear/organized with all of his lectures. Homework can be hard, but do it and you'll be fine. If you get a higher grade on part 1&2 of the final exam, it completely replaces your Test 1&2 grades, which means your grade could go from a D to an A if you do well. Amazing professor.
Dr. Krog was a good professor for math reasoning. He is very organized and clear wit his directions/expectations from day 1. The course content is hard, but he is willing to work with you until you understand it. He gives a lot of HW, but allows for revisions. The final is cumulative but he has a nice policy that can actually help your grade.
Prof Krog expects you to know every single trig/algebra rule from high school. He does not re-teach anything to refresh what you learned in the past. He does not give quizzes so your grade is composed of homework, 3 semester exams, and the final. Avoid him if you do not have strong trig/math skills in general.
One of the best professors I have. He definitely knows what he's doing. He can be a bit corny sometimes, but his classes are fun. Even tho attendance isn't mandatory you need to go if you want a good grade on the test, unless you're good at calculus. Very understanding and always willing to help and listen. Do the work and you'll be fine.
Prof Krog is great for capping! He is very nice and caring. The course consists of only two projects, which are both group presentations. He gives ample time to work on the presentations during the class sessions. As long as you follow his directions, its an easy A capping class with minimal work done outside of the class sessions.
Great professor for discrete math. If you skip a class you're going to struggle. If you need help go to his office hours. Keep up with the homework and you'll be fine. You have 3 tests and he drops the lowest one as well as your lowest 3 homework. The final is cumulative.
Best teacher to take calc with. He explains well and offers plenty of extra help. His homework can be a lot but it is super helpful practice for the test and he 3 lowest. His tests are very fair you get a notecard and he drops 1 out of the 4. The material on the tests are very fair and not super hard versions of the material.
I HATE math, and I LOVED this class. This class was very well taught and the teacher actually went over any basic concepts that the class did not know, contents of tests were clearly communicated and the homework actually gave examples that were on the tests.
I had Dr. Krog for Calc III and have nothing but good things to say. He is really passionate about the material and was always available outside of class for help. 3 exams, a cumulative final, and a homework for each section (you get a week to do). He drops 1 of the midterm exams and 5 homework grades. Very fair grader. Definitely recommend.
Prof. Krog is one of Marist's best math professors, and most of my peers agree. He is a fantastic lecturer and a great guy. One drawback is the class has a good amount of homework, but it is necessary to understand the material, and tests were challenging. But otherwise, it was a fantastic course and I recommend Krog from the bottom of my heart.
(Math 424L, Complex Analysis) This was probably the hardest math class content-wise, I've taken so far. However, Krog made this class very nice. He has great lectures, and he's very helpful in office hours. Even though it's hard to perfect some proofs. He is very lenient with grading, and curves so everybody can pass. Overall a great guy, and Prof.
Caring professor and very nice/funny! Material is a little hard but looking back at Calc 1 it was pretty easy all around
MATH 242L / Calc II -- He is good at answering questions and explaining how / why things happen. Homework isn't brutal, tests are never harder than what you see in class, and there's plenty of time to do assignments. He's very clear in his expectations and, in my opinion, has a lenient grading system. Overall, super chill and 100% would take again.
Dr. Krog is a spectacular professor. Knows what he's talking about, is ready to explain any concept further, and cares about your success! He does not make any class easy, but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed, and is available in office hours for additional help.
I took Dr. Krog for Linear Algebra and really enjoyed the class. 3 exams (lowest one dropped), a cumulative final, and homework make up the grade. The tests are easy if you review past homework assignments. Homework given per section with ample time. Dr. Krog is very helpful during office hours as well. I would definitely recommend taking Dr. Krog!
His class was very informative every class was a lecture, but the lectures were excellent. Went through the theorem, then the proof, and then multiple examples of the concept. So, the class notes helped when studying for the exams. It's best if you go to the classes. As well he drops your lowest test score and 3 lowest homework grades.
Krog made this challenging math class quite manageable. Great lectures, helpful office hours, and lenient grading - even with tricky proofs. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for study prep too. Overall a top-notch professor.
This is the 2nd class I've taken with Krog, and even though Calc III is more work, he teaches just as well as he did in Calc II. His grading system is the same -- homework with the lowest few grades dropped, 3 tests with the lowest test dropped, and a final exam. Extremely lenient when grading the tests themselves too. He really is one of the best.
Pretty good overall, found it hard to follow/keep up with his lectures (couldn't process the information quick enough to ask during class) but still very easy to learn the material bc lots of resources and OH. LOTs of homework but was very helpful for learning the material. 3 tests, drops lowest, Cumulative final that is worth large part of grade
Professor Krog is a decent professor. He gives multiple mini quizzes a week for you to see if you understand the material, so depending on the student, that could be good or bad. There is homework for each section as well. He does drop a lot of grades, including one exam, which can help your grade. The lectures can be boring and hard to understand.
Very nice professor but the lectures are very boring and hard to understand at times. If you do the hw when you're supposed to and pay attention then you'll be fine. He drops a very generous amount of grades too. A lot of quizzes so depending on the student that can be good or bad. He allows a notecard on each exam too.
This class was difficult for me and a lot of it has to do with my poor math skills and that I didn't like Professor Krogs teaching style. The lectures are confusing and go by fast. The Homework's are designed to be easy then get significantly harder. There are quizzes after each section but he does give partial credit. Hes a nice guy so go to OH
