His classes can put you to sleep, but he cares about the students doing well

Very nice guy. Goes off topic a bit. Does soci-evolutionary theory which isn't really helpful for other soci classes.

ok guys...he is a really nice man and cares about the students a lot but he talks a lot about the same subjects and usually strays from the topic. You may fall asleep more than once!

this prof has boring lectures but is really really nice and helpful, its not so bad because the course is actually quite interesting, his manuscript which is the course kit, is really really well written and interesting

THis proffessor is really good and seeems to know his stuff. ALthough many might find him boring and annoying, remember that you are here to get good marks and having 35% based on tutorial helps with the goal. you will under by the end of the year.

I really like Professor Landstreet's course. I'm sorry so many people find him boring. I do see what you're saying, in that he could use a lot less words to get to the point, but when it all comes down to it, you know the material pretty darn well since its been drilled into us. He is very thorough

at first thought he was a little cooky, but he makes the material easy to understand because he talks so much about it. He seems like he really wants his students to learn and he helps you out a lot if you talk to him.

Hes IMPROVED! Although he EASILY loses train of thought wile talkin THE COURSE IS MAD EASY! Landstreet is repetive which could be boring but it makes the stupidest people understand what hes saying. HIS EXAMS ARE EASY!! Their general knowledge questions!! and YES EXTREMELY NICE! He cares about you!

He's a little 'out there' and boring but he makes up for it in exams. If you can make it through his lectures and his 'document'that he's writting you're guaranteed an A. He says the same point in a number of different ways so you have to get what he is saying!!

Landstreet is a great prof. he is an engaging, enthusiastic, and entertaining lecturer. he is very approachable and goes out of his way to help students. at times he can be a little wordy, but that is only because he wants all students to grasp the concepts. Certainly the best Soci prof @ York.

Course is VERY easy! Exams are multiple choice and are simple! Course is okay but lectures were pointless and you rarely have to attend them. Warning: If you get Gul has a TA in this course switch because she is horrible!

I took twp classes of his, i think his is an amazing prof. and i trully think his work is incredible

he is ultimate one of the best profs york university has.

This is a bird class if you follow one rule, make sure that you go to tutorials and make sure that you study the material from his MCAS model.

landstreet is the best soci prof at York. avoid this TA: GUL. she does not like students, does not like teaching, intentionally hands essays back after exams to avoid student complaints, does not explain concepts clearly. this woman should not be teaching!

Professor Landstreet is the most passionate professor in his field. I am certainly taking his 4th year course.

Excellent professor and a wonderful human being. He is what professorship is about, kindness, understanding patience and knowledge.

Landstreet is one of the best profs ive had. Despite his boring lectures his rediculously easy exams make up for it. I got 102% on the final. Take this class if you are looking for an A+ or even an A

great prof- actually had him last year- lectures can be a bit long- but he makes the material very easy to understand- ended up w/ an A.

His lectures are defintely boring but he does present the material in a way that is very understandable. He lets you out a little early and his tests are really easy.

Oh Gosh, What can I say about this man, he is awesome. He truly really care about every student and want all of them to do well. Not jsut get a good grade, but enjoy the learning process. You should take a course with him. He is very, very helpful, even outside school. Great job Prfessor Landstreet. You have made my University experience great

Rambles on in lectures but is very passionabte about what he lectures. Tests are very straight forward and easy.

he is a cool prof....yea he does ramble a lot and that kind of makes the class bored but he can really make you understand the main concepts....and he is very funny and very passionate about the material....he is easy to approach

Rambles on and on, but is a good hearted man who gives easy exams. Would not hesitate to recommend for a first year course.

This is prof is great and his exams are actually not too hard if you do the readings. Therefore I got an A. Also for TA choose Seçil.

landstreet is the best. He may be a tad verbose at times, but hey, he is a lingustics man by training. He really encourages out of the box thinking and has a great sense of humour. Once you get to know his teaching style, he's rad!

i had him for 2050 and 1010. these two courses are total bird courses. easy As! he makes pop quizzes in tutorials to encourages you to read and it helps a lot. also easy 25% right there! TAKE HIS COURSES, they are awesome! :)

He is the best professor at York! I was never interested in sociologyuntil I had this prof! He is very king and really wants students to do well. He has pop quizzes worth 10% - they are very easy. I got 92 on his exam. All multiple choice. He tends to go off topic sometimes, but the topics he discusses are interesting nonetheless.

Unless you love sociology class is boring, bring soduko or crossword puzzle :)...dont really have to pay attention cuz he rambles but he puts up overhead with all the important stuff, hes very approachable and answers ANY questions, he brings handouts for the class which means no notetaking..he gives reviews and his exams are super fair and easy.

BEST PROF EVER!!! Lectures are all over the place but tests and assignments are SOOO EASY! our final exam took 20 min!! Enough said!

He understands that you have other classes and tries to make life easier for you by giving you less work during heavy work periods..he is straight forward and i can't stress this enough because the basic concepts you've been learning the entire year is the same stuff showing up on the exam..he rambles a bit but he is soo straight forward no tricks

Easy prof. His exams are amazing. He talks about a lot of nonsense though. Usually only 1/4 of his lecture is important.

showing up to class will probabley just confuse you more but once in a while he will give you hints as to what will be on the exam. READ his books and you will do great very straight forward and his tests are so straight forward interesting topics in the class too

The Prof Is A Bore..If you need a class inbetween classes where you can skip or nap.. landstreets 1010 course is for you. other then that read the text book and understand it and you will pass.. final exam scheduled for 2 hours.. took a whole of 35 minutes, all multiple choice. free marks given EASY EASY EASY! but boring as hell.

GREAT sociology prof! he rambles a little, but he often has many interesting things to say! exams are very fair and easy! He loves what he does and it shows in his lectures. He does a great job of making course material relevant! I will take as many courses with him as i possible can!

What can i say about this man,, he is adorable! Sure he can go on about something totally unrelevant to the topic of lecture, but he is such a kind hearted man, and will give you wut you need to know before the exams. They are a bit tricky but he got scared when he saw the mid term marks were in the 50's but made up for it at the final. easy A!

A lot of people are saying Peter rambles or that it's 'not okay to call societies primitive'. He 'rambles' because he is speaking with the assumption that you read the mandatory text -thus picking up the necessary soc info plus interesting knowledge in addition.As well his text is a variety of opinions, it is not his label of 'primitive' societies

I love him! Although it's hard to pay attention in class because he rambles on about irrelivant things and laughs at his own jokes! hehe He's a genuine nice man and is a fair marker!

he is a great prof! exams are easy if you do the readings, just know his textbook. you do not need to go to all of his lectures bc everything is in the book but he is interesting. the professor is great, just make sure you don't get stuck with a hard TA!!! exam and midterm are both multiple choice, his multiple choice questions are straight forward

AMAZING prof! best ive seen in 4 yrs at York! His textbooks are so fun and easy to read! He explains material VERY well, and it is fairly easy to understand to begin with. Exams are all MC. VERY fair marker! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Very helpful! Always willing to talk or to clarify! He is the best thing York University has to offer!

If you are passionate about learning, Landstreet is a professor you will want to have! If you do the readings and pay attention in lecture there is no reason you wont get an A in this course. Some people say he tends to ramble on and on, but this remark I find, is mostly made by people with no interest in Sociology.

Amazing prof!!! lectures are veryyyyy boring but the exams are veryyy easy so if you do the readings, you'll get an A for sure. Very nice man too!

This professor is amazing!!!!! His textbooks are reasonably priced (cause he wrote them) they are clear and concise. He is interested in the success of his students, and he is such a kind and sweet man. If you attend lectures and read the material you are guranteed an A....I suggest this professor to anyone.

Great professor, he can be a bit boring but he is such a sweet hear you cannot help but love him! His textbook is easy to read and he explains everything soo clearly in it. If you read the book you won't have to go to lecture and you will get a good grade for sure!

Professor Landstreet is an amazing person and academic. Yes, while his classes may come across as boring to some, he is really very interesting and explains concepts very well. The exams, at least when I took them, were multiple choice ~ I personally hate multiple choice, but, I still did well in the course. I recommend this prof to anyone!!

Easy and straight forward exams. His textbook is easy to read and understand. He is rather quirky at times, but you can tell he's a nice man. Lectures were dry, but sociology is a dry subject...

Exams were easy. He was hard to listen to as his microphone was never functioning properly. Goes off track sometimes during lecture. Lecture notes are not online so you need to attend class. TA Afsana Tabibi was a great help.

Great Prof! Easy Course!

Easy prof! We had to read two books + textbook. Honestly, throughout the entire course, I never read more than 1 chapter in each book. Did read most of the chapters in the textbook though. Went to class almost regularly & tutorials. Walked out with an A. midterm & final (MCQ) is a walk in the park! Take him! U won't regret it. Luz Vazquz - good TA.

Best professor ever. I recently discovered he retired and that sucks for all future generations . His book is informative and helpful. Loved his course

He was super duper nice! He is a rather quirky dude, but it's clear that he is smart, knowledgeable, and very willing to help his students. Yes, he does sometimes get off-track, but he focuses his exams on stuff that he's actually covered. His exams are fair, as are his evaluations. Amazing, wonderful prof and human being.

Very good prof. Explained all concepts thoroughly. He had no power points but even at that it was very easy to keep track of what he was saying.
