One of the best
for econometrics, is a very good professor. Reviews a lot of past math, easy to understand, pay attention, take notes, u'll get an A.
Great Teacher. REALLY HARD CLASS! But he teaches it well. Just go to class and take good notes, and be sure to study
Its a hard class but he'll tell you what to expect on the exam.
Only teacher that can make such a boring difficult subject interesting to learn about. Its regression construction and analysis for goodness sakes people. He does not curve. A C is a C & a D is a D. However if you listen and class and are NEVER EVER absent u can b proud of the true grade u earn
Hey guy...the prof is good. To get a satisfying grade such as a B or B+ or an A, then never go to his class. Just go to his reviews and pay close attention to each and very problem he does during review session and your good to go. Hard Class -- Easy A. Trust me guys !!I myself got a B+ but am happ
This professor is GREAT. He really cares. The class is not all that easy. You just have to pay attention to everything he says. Take good notes especially when he reviews. Trust me you'll do well. I just had him this summer and got an A.
Prof. Loeb is one of the best professors at RU. I've taken him this summer and got an A. All you have to do is to pay attention in class, you'll do fine.
He's a great professor, definitly recommend him. his notes are great, just study from it
not that easy but explains everything and knows what he is talking about. very clear and gives u great notes. just study strictly from them and u will get an A. i got a B+ but thats cuz of my lazyness:)lol. def recommend him!
Great professor who makes a boring class interesting. Professor Loeb is a friendly man, and very entertaining to listen to. Goes over a lot of stuff in class that is unnecessary, but show up to his review class before the exam and you should do okay. Probably the most intelligent Econ professor that I have taken.
Professor Loeb is the best professor at RU. He is simply a genius and is always willing to help anyone out.
Vow....Excellent Professor. He loves Stats, but hates Deans...ahhhhhh. He wants every one to get a good grade. He curves his all exams.. but material is quite dull...You need a coffee..get from a starbuck...Robeson....Yooohhh stop checking rate my professor and get engaged in study.
He made such a hard subject so understanding. He is the best professor. I loved the class and got an A. TAKE HIM!!!!
O my god! this class was soooo boring.....n hez not all that great...all he does is proofs and no joke we did a max of 10 problems in the entire sem...very boring used to put me to sleep within 10 mins of class time....if u r not gonna work hard...DONT TAKE HIM!
Prof. Loeb is great. He's funny and willing to help those who need it. His tests were not that hard but for some reason most people did bad on them and he had to curve every test. You'll need to do problems on your own to make sure you pass his tests because even though they are easy the formulas needed for them can only be memorized with practice.
Does a lot of proofs in class but only tests you on one of them. Really nice guy, though. He could make this much worse, if he wanted to. He gives you NO examples of the types of problems that will be on the exam. Talk to somebody about what was on his past exams so you aren't in shock. This is the key to getting a good grade.
Prof. Loeb is a great teacher. He makes statistics fun and interesting. Does a great job of explaining the material. I don't know why anyone would have a problem in his class. Take him for Stats.
The Prof. is nice and gives simple and easy exams with thorough reviews and fair grades. He might fool you with all the calc and the long proofs but none of that is on the exam. I recommend him fr advanced classes as well.
Professor Loeb funny and helpful. A lot of math his exams are fair and straight to the point I took him in the summer if your not a morning person take the class later in the day can be overwhelm at times. If your interest in learning take this class.
He is simply the best professor in the world!!! Take him for stats or econometrics...
Took econometrics with him. Homework, midterm and final made up the grade. He confuses the hell out of you with all the proofs he does in class, but don't get scared 90% of the stuff isn't on the tests. Tests are all very straight forward. Class attendance isn't mandatory..but I urge you to go, because w/o the notes you won't understand anything
He is simply the best prof the economics dept has..I took econometrics with him and got a B+. 2 exams and are straight forward. Lots of confusing proofs, but none on exam. Take good notes and you will be fine.
Professor Loeb is one of the best professors in Rutgers. He makes the subject of econometrics so easy to understand! His exams are very str8 forward not like a lot of other professors who make up exams to trick you. I highly recommend him for this subject!
Im taking stat methods with him and he is fantastic, best teacher on campus. Easy exams, thrilling curves, and gives extra credt quizzes. Cant get better!
you shouldn't have a problem with professor loeb. his lectures are pretty easy and tests are based off his lectures. he allows you to have a cheat sheet on the test so that makes it even easier. take him for stats.
I hated math before I took his class, and then loved it with him. He is a phenomenal teacher, but you have to do your part. That is, you must study, memorize the formulas, do the homework even though it's not collected! Highly recommended professor.
Prof. is funny and extremely lenient. Allows formula sheets for exams. Prof. is also helpful and willing to do detailed exam reviews. Must take this prof.!
Prof. Loeb is a very interesting man. The class is funny and easy. His exams are straight from the lecture. just practice practice practice and you will do well. Know definitions and concepts, b/c he throws that in on the exam. Otherwise one of the most fun classes i have taken at RU.. and my major has absolutely nothing to do with stats!
was not clear at all!!You had to teach yourself and he crammed in too much/many chapters per exam so...NOT GOOD!!Perhaps if there were more exams with less chapters covered to split the work would definitely be good...better to have 5 exams with 2 or 3 chapters covered than 3 exams with like a hundred chapters each!!!
You do not have to go to class. He does not take attendance. He gives three tests. There is no homework. He only goes by his notes. He does not follow the book. He lets you take cheat sheets to the tests. It would be wise to go to class to take notes. He curves the final. Big curve.
really good professor, his teaching is very effective. go to class, take notes, and do hw problems and get an A
THE BEST TEACHER EVER
I have never met such a helpful professor, and his teaching method is very effective. This professor is the only one that will go out of his way to work with you to make sure that you understand the material and pass the class. Good hearted and sweetest prof ever!!!
Easy A. Very clear professor.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!he is funny, helpful, and clear.easy A if u study his lecture seriously.
Really Good Professor! His teaching is quite conceptual which makes it really easy to understand math. Very understanding and def wants all students to do well. MUST TAKE HIM IF TAKING STATS. Hint: NOTES WILL HELP U ALOT IN EXAM!!
Very good professor. Generates a high level of interest in the material and applies it to everyday life so we can understand the material better. Do the homeworks and study and you can get at least a B. He lets you bring ur notes or textbook to the exam. Can also be funny at times
Really cool professor, very helpful and also funny. Allows a formula/cheat sheet for the exams and also curves the final and the midterm grades.
Best Professor, knows his area very well. Extremely helpful. The subjest was difficult (Econometrics II), but he was able to present in a cristally clear way. Plus, he picks the right textbooks, which is so helpful for the students.
You can rarely find such an efficient and helpful professor as Pr. Loeb. He will do his best to accomodate all the students and is extremely responsible. My money were worth of taking his two courses. I would definately recommend to take his statistics and econometrics courses. Pr. Loeb is the best!!!
BEST prof. EASY EXAMZ!! Do your hw and u'll do GR8!! Easy A :)
THE BEST!! Its a shame there are not more ppl like him. Easy A if you go to class and do the HW. Gives you the forumlas on the exam. Teaching is crystal clear! Hands down the best professor I had in my college career. I use to look forward to going to his class. I will certainly miss his class. 5/5!!
Best professor at the university! Material is not easy, but he highlights what is important and keeps all of it interesting. Does not try to trick you on exams, just go to lecture and do homework. There are few professors who want their whole class to excel as much as Prof. Loeb. Wish he taught more economics courses.
My favorite teacher on campus so far. He knows his material and is a very fair grader. I didnt have the book for the first 2 exams, but should have studied from it. That is what will separate A's from B's. He also keeps students amused with corny jokes
This professor was wonderful! I took him for statistical methods this summer and he was always focused on his students learning. He has a great way of teaching and he also entertains his students with corny jokes. I received an 'A' for the course and I think it was a well worth taking class If i could take him again i would not think twice about it
I LOVE HIM! I took stats with him last summer and he's GREAT! He is so helpful and a VERY fair grader. I will definitely take him again for Intro to Econometrics!
I took Dr. Loeb's econometrics this past summer. I'm awful with math and generally terrified of numbers but this man destroyed my math phobia. His style of teaching and commitment to his students is unparalleled. The greatest educator I've ever had the privilege of studying under.
He is very nice and very respectful to his students. I did extremely bad on his first exam and he told me that if I do well on the next one I can pass the class with a C. And I ended up getting a C+ in the class and I am happy with it. Don't do what I did, make sure to ace his first exam and practice the problems in the text book and UNDERSTAND.
I loved him!! i took him for summer session 1 and he is an amazing professor! he will get out of his way to help people and really wants students to do well. You don't see professors like him anymore!!
He's a great professor! He creates a connection to all the material he covers. He's extremely fair, and will even stay after lecture doing study session that help greatly! Follow his class notes and you'll do fine
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. JUST GO TO CLASS, TAKE NOTES, STUDY THE NOTES AND YOU'LL GET AN A.
He is a GREAT professor!! let us use our notes and textbook for every exam. He also reviewed perfectly before each exam. He is ALWAYS willing to help so ask for the help!
HE IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!
Hands down the BEST professor I've had at Rutgers thus far. His lecture and examples are crystal clear. He really cares about his students and encourages learning. Rutgers need more professors like him. I wish he would he could teach Business school courses I would definitely take him again.
My main man Peter, what can I say. If you're looking for an easy A this semester not sure if your'e going to find it in this class. The course work is conceptually difficult at first but Loeb does his best to explain and will make it so you understand. He is the best professor at Rutgers and genuinely cares about each and every student (show up)
He doesn't take attendance but you wouldn't pass the class without going. The book isn't enough, it's easier when someone breaks it down for you. He provides many examples when students ask and he has been one of my favorite professors so far. Despite my grade.
I went into this class already expecting to have a difficult semester, I have never done extraordinary in math related classes. I was wrong. He is one of the greatest math instructors I've ever had. He had a way of making concepts extremely clear and cut. He gives you the steps, you just follow. He lets you use notes on the quizzes. Love him.
THIS IS A COMPLEX CHALLENGING CLASS,BUT THE TEACHER IS THE BEST IN THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT.
Professor Loeb is the best. I had him for stats and choose him for Econometrics. He explains things in a very clear way so that you can understand. He's my favorite professor at Rutgers y far. Oh and he loves all the Deans!
Good professor. Econometrics is a difficult subject but Loeb explains all the material clearly and makes it understandable. He spends a good portion of the lecture doing proofs of equations which you dont need to understand and will not be on the tests or homework. If you take good notes during the review before the exams, you will be fine.
expects you to know econometrics prior to course. vague on a lot of things. doesn't help you that much. i would avoid
The course itself is generally difficult. If you decide to take Loeb make sure you get a seat in the front and pay attention because he can be very boring, writes small on the board, and covers a lot of information that he assumes u read. Exams you can use a cheat sheet and attendance is not mandatory but it requires effort to do well in his class
Really funny professor. Homework is optional and there are no assignments. All he does is give lecture and do problems on the board. The key to pass is to study the material he writes on the board. He lets you use a cheat sheet to make sure to put all formulas in there. You are only graded on exams, they are heavy, but really easy if you study
He is hands down the best professor at Rutgers, such a genuine & caring professor. He is more than willing to help you if you go to his office hours. It is a challenging class if you don't study or understand the material but Loeb is there for you, so take advantage of his office hrs! He's awesome & a funny guy too.
Very approachable, easy to understand, and funny to boot Professor Loeb's class was the best experience I had in Rutgers thus far. His lectures are crystal clear as he explains the concepts in an understandable way and he provides many different examples on how to do problems in class. He also allows you to bring a cheat sheet on all exams too!!
Loeb is a great guy. His lectures are some of the best I've ever seen, he tries his best to get the whole class to pay attention. He also makes a lot of corny jokes too, so get ready to roll your eyes. His exams are easy, he lets you bring a cheat sheet to each one. Study for a few hours and write down his examples from the review and you'll pass.
Loeb is a wonderful professor and an even better person. His lectures are educational and fun at the same time. In class he goes over questions that are almost identical to the ones on his exams and he lets you bring in a double-sided formula/note sheet for each exam.
All of the three exams are weighted the same and theres a curve. No hw, attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't come to class then don't expect to do well. Take advantage of his office hours and go to TA review sessions bc he basically gives you the same problems. Don't only focus on the formulas, read the textbook and understand the concepts.
Great prof! Don't hesitate to take him. The key to pass is going to the lectures, writing/practicing his problems, and going to the TA's review sessions. Although the book provides different types of problems, it's good that you read the chapters before the exam bc he includes theoretical questions.
Take his class! He's the best professor in the entire department. I came in before expecting the class to be difficult but while the course load is pretty hefty he makes it easy to understand. I generally pay attention in lectures, practice the problems after class and go to his office hours from time to time. Allows cheat sheets on exams.
The class is a bit confusing but he tries to make the material easy to learn.
Take his stats methods class. You will NOT regret it. He is awesome and teaches the content very well. He also does a review session (IN CLASS) before gives an exam. Also those review problems are similar to the ones on the exam. Exams are mostly multiple choice with 1-3 questions that you do on your own.
Prof. Loeb tries hard to make a difficult subject easy to understand. Come to class because all his test are from there. Miss class and you will be lost. He knows who doesn's show up so if you need help he will have little time for you if you have never showed up. Fell free to ask questions he will answer them without being cruel as some Prof. are.
Great professor with a very funny sense of humor. Class itself is difficult but he tries to make it as simple as possible. IMO I find his teaching style much more effective than the book, however the book is still pretty helpful for his exams. Take him! Hes a very caring and approachable guy, always willing to help his students
Professor Loeb is one of the most beautiful souls I've met. this man made me wanna learn econometrics. he gives great lectures and is soo funny. he drops the biggest dad jokes here and there and is very consistent with them. I never missed a single class. if you try just a bit and visit office hours he will make sure you pass!
I took him for intro to econometrics, he's a good professor and means well. Jokes a lot. The key to do well in his class is to take really good notes because his exams are based on the notes. If he keeps repeating something a lot then that probably will be on the exam. He takes a good amount of problems from the book.
Professor Loeb is the most caring professor in the department. He helps his students succeed and is available to assist anytime. Do the readings, read the book, take notes, ask questions! You will do fine in class.
Prof Loeb is the best professor in the entire economics dept. Made me truly want to learn econometrics. Go to class and pay attention and you should be fine! Also go to office hours and get to know him; great guy!
He sucks at teaching. tells you to get a textbook he doesnt even teach out of. Class is made up of only 3 exams and he does not specify anything including what chapters and sections are on the exam. If you can get any other stats prof or course please take your opportunity before its too late like me.
Really good professor, he definitely knows what he is talking about. Class is graded by 3 test. He gave one extra credit quiz to add points to your test grade. Doesn't want to see his students fail but you definitely need to have at least a basic understanding of what is going on to pass.
Best math professor I ever head. Only graded based on three exams, and as long as you pay attention during reviews before the test and practice on your own time as well, you will do well. He's very caring for his students and hosts office hours that caters to the student's best times most of the time. Amazing person in addition to professor as well
He clearly knows his stuff and is fond of the material. His lectures are a must, if you stop paying attention you will get lost. He assigned no homework and there were three tests that determined our entire grade. He curves at the end of the class. What he teaches in lectures will be on the tests.
Professor Loeb is one of the best in the economics department. I highly suggest if you have an interest in economics to take him. He does not take attendance but, his lectures are mainly in person and notes will not be found in canvas. He is very wise and teaches very well!
