What can I say about this guy? He's funny, genuine, caring, easy going, passionate, so sweet. Two tests and one essay. No textbook. You get 3% for showing up to the last class where he talks about aliens. His passion for astronomy shines through, amazing lecturer. Wish he taught more classes :(

Great class. Fun and informative. Funny professor and overall a pretty nice guy. Gives out handouts that help you learn and grasp the material so its best to attend the lecture.

Absolutely amazing prof. This guy makes class a genuine pleasure to attend. He is so interested in everything he is teaching and he is quite humorous. I was hesitant to take PCS181 because I heard the course was hard. But professor Luca prepares you well for the 2 tests and marks the report rather easily. If you put in the effort you will do well!

This professor is ACTUALLY the best professor in Ryerson. He's VERY passionate about astronomy and gives you everything you need to know. Tests are composed of slides & worksheets and he gives you all of the worksheet answers (just come to class!). The report was also marked leniently. Take my word. ONLY 2 TESTS and 1 REPORT.

He's very caring & provides students with engaging activities, not-for-marks homeworks,in-class videos and colourful lecture slides. I missed a few classes but it did not affect my grades in any way;just regretted missing out on cool stuff. Tests are super fair (and easy if you pay attention to what he says) and the essay is marked relatively easy.

The course had 2 tests and 1 report. The tests are pretty fair (based off powerpoint and practice questions). The report was marked quite easily. Peter is the best prof I've had so far in uni. He's a really chill and funny guy. I never missed a class because it was always really interesting and he always tried to lift the mood.

I love this man. Hes engaging, gives clear explanations, and is always happy to be teaching. He will prepare you for the tests, too.

His lectures were super interesting and his midterms were definitely a reflection of what was taught in class...a few tricky questions here and there but thats expected. Overall one of the best professors at Ryerson. Minimal effort required to do well in this course.

Why does he not have a perfect 5 star rating? This man is truly a gem! Both tests are completely multiple choice, and he marks the paper very easy. Really nice and made 6:30-9:30 class very easy.

Go to class, get his review questions, study 10hrs for each of the tests, and write an interesting topic for his paper (I wrote about the impact of WW2 on astronomy). You'll get an A.

THE BEST PROF AT RYERSON. We honestly do not deserve him. He teaches the content with so much passion and gives extra handouts so students can better understand the lectures. Easy A+ if you just show up to class. two tests and one mini assignment. no exams.

Truly one of the best professors I've ever had, unlike most classes, when one of his weekly classes got cancelled due to bad weather, it was pretty sad because his classes are always something I looked forward to and was excited about.

Great teacher, really cares about his lectures and how he presents his lessons. Didn't use textbook. To pass this class you just need to show up to class, copy the blanks from his slides and study for the tests using the slides. There is also an essay that is super easy to get a 100 on. Great class if you are interested in space stuff.

One of the most inspiring, amazing human beings at Ryerson. I took astronomy as a liberal course but I fell in love with the topic.. I have never learned so much in any other course and that is all due to this man. If you have a chance, enrol in his classes.

I took CPCS181 in Fall 2019 with Dr. Peter Luca. He is one of the most caring and enthusiastic profs at Ryerson. He is extremely organized and makes learning easy as possible. He responds to emails quickly and it's overall very fun to attend his classes. His class is composed of 2 MC midterms and 1 written paper. TAKE THIS CLASS. You will do well!!

This is one of the best classes at Ryerson with Professor Luca. His lectures are informative and fun to participate in, the course content is clear and directly connects to what was taught in class, and he is always available for timely feedback. He brings a lot of enthusiasm to the class and honestly, it becomes a class you look forward to weekly.

He's an absolute gem! He really cares for his students to do well in his class. His lectures are fun and he gives worksheets during class which helps with the tests. If you review his notes and worksheets you're guaranteed to do well in his course.

Amazing prof! 2 papers (each worth 15%), 1 project (10%) and a quiz after each class (5% x 12). Kind, always available to help, marks fairly and quickly with constructive feedback, responds to emails within an 1-2h, and a great lecturer! Just attend every lecture, pay attention, and there is no reason not to do well! Highly recommended!

I don't normally leave reviews for teachers but Peter is by far the best prof I ever had in Ryerson so far. Astronomy was 100x more interesting because of the way he taught it. He's an easy marker and if you memorize his slides, you are guaranteed an A!! I highly recommend astronomy with him!

Professor Peter Luca is easily my favourite professor from Ryerson so far. He makes astronomy so fun and easy to learn. It's an easy 4.33 if you do all the work since hes an easy marker.

He's the greatest! Taking this class with him was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. His passion is evident and he really did stimulate my interest in astronomy. He's such a kind and down-to-earth individual. Assignments, quizzes and tests were not difficult. If you want to take this class, make sure he's the one teaching!

Luca is easily one of the best profs at Ryerson. He is very passionate about the things he teaches and that just makes the classes so much more enjoyable and really makes you interested in the topics at hand. The course itself is very easy even if you don't have a strong foundation in science. As long as you go over the slides, you should be fine.

This was the easiest course I've been in. Quizzes and Tests had a 48-hour window and were easy 100%'s cooperating with others in the class (which he didn't mind). Discussion posts were easy 100%'s if you followed instructions and he's an easy marker on the research report. He also records lectures and makes them very engaging and interesting

The report and tests are certainly difficult, contrary to popular belief, but if you pay attention, Professor Luca gives you everything you need to do well in the course. DO NOT HESITATE TO TAKE A CLASS BY DR. LUCA. He explains topics in such an interesting yet simple and fun way, even my 8 year old son would listen in and learned a lot. I can't stress enough how happy I am that I took this class. Evaluation was 2 non-cumulative tests, 1 report, weekly quizzes (that he helps you with) and 2 discussion posts.

He says at the beginning and repeats throughout the course that he wants everyone to get an A+. This is probably the easiest course I'll take in university and this prof gives all the support you could want and need. He also makes lots of jokes. The content and the professor are both great!

One of the best, if not the best, profs at TMU. There were weekly quizzes, two discussion post activities, two tests, and a report. All of them were easy. He was very helpful and quick to respond to emails. Attendance wasn't mandatory but I attended every class cause they were all interesting. Hopefully I get him as a prof again. GOAT

He is an amazing teacher!! One of the very best profs I have ever seen! Every lecture I attend is so interesting, and he is very kind and respectful. Especially if you have accommodations! Every time I asked him for accommodations on tests and assignments, he always granted them, and always asked if he could provide anything more. 10/10!!

I had no interest in astronomy when I went into this class. Every lecture left me stunned by how fascinating space is. Professor Luca is an AMAZING lecturer, he really breaks down concepts so everyone can understand the basics of astronomy. He is hilarious and will make sure all your questions are answered. Very easy marker and very good course.

MY GOAT! Professor Luca is very passionate about astronomy, so it makes attending lectures super fun. He is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and approachable, and he marks SUPER easy which makes for an easy A+. There are weekly 10-15mc "quizzes" after class which you can complete with peers/the prof, an essay, and two 30mc tests. TAKE THIS COURSE!!

Professor Luca is truly an amazing professor with interesting lectures. I was scared coming into this course as I didn't have much science background other grade 11 physics and his teaching erased all of my fears. Make sure to keep on top of the content each week and you should get at least an A!
