U NEED TO WORK FOR YOUR GRADE
No Comments
You need to do your homework and take good notes in his class. Is possible to pass but just remember to be on top of your homework material. He's a pretty cool teacher.
He is the best teacher in accounting in cerritos by far, very good examples to explain the material, very helpful, class is a cakewalk, just do H.W and go to class and you will be fine. i took all my claases from this proffesor , very helpful
Moloney is a great teacher. He puts you on the spot in class but helps u understand lecture better. Very funny, easy going class, eps. on pictionary days, but expect alot of homework but those will help for exams. And his cousin is on extreme homemaker over. haha =)
BUSA101 Very good assigment itinerary. Excellent accounting teacher. Fun & Hot...=)H/M assgmts are a big plus. You won't want to miss class. A great person, will be there to help you, encourage you, and could be a great councelor too. A "Rock Star"
HE IS VERY HELPFULWITH THE MATERIAL, HE IS ALSO VERY INVOLVED WITH TRANSFERING TO CAL. STATES, AND UC'S.
Really Gud Professor. More than that he is Personally intrested in each and every student. Students if your Major is Accounting go for Mr. Peter Moloney.
Changed my life and could change yours. First person who ever believed in me even before me. And I'm writing this from UCSB. He's not going to let you coast threw the class that's what high school was for. He is there to prepare and inspire and he does just that. Truly what a teacher is all about.
I don't think he is a very good instructor. Does not teach well if you ask him for help he will just tell you to ask you neighbor. Very poor teaching did not learn nothing.
Great teacher and genuinely cares about his students. He helps you in any way he can and will explain until everything is clear. He will have you work in groups so that we as Bus/Acct majors get use to networking. Before he gives us an answer he will ask us to ck w/our classmates around us. Again, to learn how to network.
even though his class is not easy, he does prepare us for university level. he inspired his students to pursue their goals. overall, great and extremely helpful professor. Girls will love his smile~~~
The best teacer. Granted he's not the easiest but there is a method to his madness. He teaches students to be responsible (if you work hard, it'll pay off). He's very helpful and encourages students to ask questions and work together. Highly recommended if you're going into business!
Hands down, the GREATEST teacher I've ever met. He's thorough, fun, and really looks for our understanding before moving on. He focuses on preparing us for real life and insists on everyone getting involved. Lots of work, so keep up. I've never learned more in a class. He gets a A+++++++++ from me.
At my first attendance I was thrown off by his teaching technique, but soon realized that by making us think through the process first on our own and then walking us through the problems he has helped me to understand the problem more clearly and remember the text better. So when it comes to homework, it's a breeze because all the info has stuck.
the greatest teacher you'll ever have. the best thing about him is that he cares about you, that's not easy to find in a teacher. AND he is a great teacher. Accounting is not easy, but he makes it feel easy. I had him for both 100 and 101 and am registered for 102!
He is the the best teacher you will ever have. very helpful. he wont give up until u understand the material. i recomend him for a teacher and a friend. very encouraging person.
If you take his class be prepared to work a lot. His teaching style is confusing. He has a weird sense of humor too.
I have him for 102 and I don't get the prior users rating at all. He gives us plenty of lecture that is very clear to understand the material and then gives us the chance to learn how to apply it on our own or with someone in class. Any one that class his style unusual, is probably not used to being responsible for their own education
This will be the best teacher you will ever have, he is very helpful. He gets people that have majors in accounting to come and motivate you. He gets you to talk to others so that you see that working in groups is very helpful. He cares about everyone in class, and makes sure everybody understands the material. The best teacher A+++++++++++++++++
I never thought I would come here and rate any professor. After taking BUSA 101 with Moloney I knew I had to tell other students about his teaching method. He might have a dry humor but overall his teaching method is one of a kind. He's dedicated to his students and only encourages them all to strive for the best!! He's the best teacher I've had at
He is pretty anal about your work but overall he's a great teacher. Probably the best one I've had out of all 3 of my accounting classes. He explains things very clear and in a way that makes you focus. This Prof. really knows what he is teaching and he is very helpful. If you want to learn the right way, go with Moloney.
Good Accounting Teacher .....Knows HIs Stuff and cares about his students quite difficult but if you understand it nothing can get in your way
Professor Moloney, is the Best instructor that I have ever had.
In this class, you'll learn more than just accounting; you'll learn how the real business world works. He is very persistent and passionate in his teaching. Great professor!
overall a good teacher. He will make you understand your material. But then its hard work in order to really understand it, just depends if you wanna work hard on it. Surprisingly his exam wasn't that difficult. Some ppl might think he is too hard but some people just take it as a learning experience. Good or bad, depends on your perceptive.
This professor is definitely a highly recommended instructor. He is one of my favorite instructor. He teaches the material clearly. If you're the type of student who is shy or scared, don't be scared to approached this professor for some help. He will guide till you succeed and learn the material as clearly as possible. He encourages his students t
simply the best.
He's good teacher. I recommend to take classes with him. If you attend classes, do homework and ask questions then you will doing fine. His exams are very straight forward. It's not very easy but it's reasonable.
I took his summer class. He made it like an online class which you have to do everything on your own without lecture and explaination. He just wanted you to go to his website to find out what was going on and what was due instead of explain things to you. When I asked him questions, he didn't answer and asked me to check with other classmates.
Great teacher! I had an awesome experience in his class. Not the average teacher he challenges his students though the class and teaches more than Accounting. He is very nice but very straight forward, his class is not for lazy people. He challenges his students and makes them work but you learn a lot. He is the best at what he does.
Mr. Moloney is one of a kind. He teaches more than basic accounting skills, he teaches you how to be a college student. He pushes you to limits you thought you never had. He inspires you to always do your best. He is not an "EASY A" and you must work hard in his class. But in the end it is all worth it. Great mentor and teacher. Moloney's the best
Mr. Moloney is the worst.I did the work, attended class, studied hard and participated in class. But when it came time for needing help on something, he insisted that I study harder. His lectures and assignments were not understandable. He answered questions with questions and then made you feel stupid, when not correct.
Homework is a breeze, lectures are not related to accounting and you are guaranteed to walk away knowing less than you left Acct 100 with. Spends almost all class time lecturing on ex-students and stuff on ifalcon. This class is like high school teacher meets counselor. Tests are hard because you have to teach yourself. Do not take him,he sucks.
Mr. Moloney puts other universities down, such as cal states. He expects you to know it all. Basically, you learn on your own. He never provied study material. Horrible attitude.
I earned an A in this class. He teach's well, but don't go asking him questions related to HW, not helpful! Ur better off asking a peer or tutor. He helps you in life, ONLY if you kiss his. His best defense to everything is "I didn't say that," ridiculous, we all know what he's implying. I dont recommend, we didn't get along & I was best student!
This teacher is not for the lazy one. Easy or hard depend on how well you organize your note. Self-study is needed but it's for your own good. Exams from the reviews and homework. I like his class even dont agreed with the way he talk sometime. Recomended for the one who can work by your own.
IFirst of all because I had taken Professor Schmidt for 100 and 101 and she was amazing. But due to conflict of schedule I had to take Moloney. You're better off teaching yourself, all he does is put down students, other schools and He also puts down members of his accoutning club. He pretends to know it all and doesn't. I got an A by ignoring him.
I was in his class for 2 weeks, hated it, and dropped. He is judgmental and he states that"hes only trying to help" The first few days he gave a project without explaining it, and BASICALLY his class is a complete bore. Never taking him again.. Thank god for ratemyprofessors.com
Really recomended! Even if you aren't sure accounting is your Major. He is a nice person to get to know. Takes great interest in his students, easily approachable.
he is nice and helpful when he wants to be. otherwise most of the time he thinks he better than everyone. somehow i feel like he likes putting others down and make them feel stupid which i hate an most of the time it seems like he trys to bring his personal life into class and whatever his issues are he takes them off on his poor students not cool
He is simply a bad teacher. He spends most of the day nagging rather than teaching. He is rude, bitter, creepy and is always putting his students down. Every class period with him is beyond hell. If he isn't putting someone down, he is rambling about he knows best. I would strongly avoid him. He should be fired in my opinion.
Haha oh Prof. Moloney, bless his soul, he is an accountant, meaning they are not the happiest people in the world. Expects us to be accounting pros not useful looks like he hates students who do not know accounting puts ppl on the spot always expected us to finish hw for which he did not even go over chapter not understanding at all, i dropped:)
I hated this class at first but as the sememster progressed I realized that he is a teacher that you would be lucky to have. He requires a lot of work but its honestly the best way to prepare yourself in this class. He cares about his students more than any other teacher I've had. He is tough, but you get what you put into it. I highly recommend.
Mr. Moloney is the best teacher I?ve had. He cares about every student in his class, he motivates students to do all they can to be successful in life. He is in fact a very inspirational professor. He is a teacher at heart!!!!
Take his class you will be thankful you did. Best teacher at cerritos I've ever had
Mr. Moloney is fair! you want an "A", study smart! If you're lazy, stay away from his class or he will make your school experience a living hell. He genuinely wants to see you successful in life. Read the book before class and bring a dictionary. You'll thank me later. Mono
Great professor, great person in general, obviously cares about his students more than any professor I've ever had, not miserable at all (I'm assuming the person who said that was lazy and got a bad grade?) and yes he is def a teacher at heart...
Great teacher!!! He is inspirational and motiviates his students to be successful!!! He makes you think on your own which sometimes makes students feel uncomfortable. He cares about his students!!!
BEST TEACHER! BEST FRIEND! this guy helped me a lot! i am an aspiring lawyer, so he took me to meet his best friend who is a judge! nice guy, GREAT GUY! If it wasnt for him? I dont know where i would be. he is tough, but he will make a man out of u. love this guy(no homo) - M. Carter -
This teacher will not only teach you accounting, he will teach you to become successful in life. The class is intense, and very hard. This class is for students looking for that one big opportunity life throws at you. If you get a B with Moloney, you will know more accounting than all the other acct students in other classes who got A's, trust me.
Here's the deal. If you are a business major, he's a great teacher. About a quarter through the semester he will give his inspiration speech. It's cool if you need a white Jamie Escalante, but otherwise it's annoying. Overall, he's a good guy with a condescending attitude. He's willing to help but sometimes it comes with a side of arrogance.
Does the impossible to motivate to go to UC's !!! Overall great professor!!!
Great person all around caring guy I still talk to him to this day. He cares about all students not just his and wants the best for everyone he's someone you can talk to about your educational goal and he will help you at best he can...
AMAZING professor! He shows exceptional interest in his students. He encourages everyone to read and keep an up to date notes on the material we've read.He doesn't give out study guides but if you pay attention in class you will be fine! He lectures then gives you time to take notes and answers questions, which is great!!
This professor is quite difficult. He is not helpful whenever you ask a question he will ask you to ask your neighbor or answer it with a question. His method of teaching is quite strange and many would find his sense of humor kind of weird and rude. this teacher will more than likely make this class quite difficult and unpleasurable.
Prof. Moloney is AMAZING!
hes really rude and hardly explains anything and if he does he just confuses you more plus we use to do this activity at the beginning of class that was like a dating session
He tried to help his students learn but he does it in a way that isn't very helpful. It's basically a help yourself if you want to pass. He'll answer a question with a question if you enjoy that.
Moloney is by far the best professor at Cerritos. If you work hard and give it your all ,you will be able to pass his class. He motivated me to do my best not only in Accounting but in life. I'm now attending a UC that I never thought would accept me.
i was a little confused in this class i thought i had signed up for Accounting 101 not life coach 101 he talked 2 hours and had nothing to do with accounting he intends on getting really personal and wants a whole plan of your life creepy much. To top it off he has the worst attitude makes you dread going to class as if its not dreadful enough.
Took him last semester. I believe he genuinely intends to help students. His demeanor is often rude, condescending, and not nice. The way in which he tries to help students is hurtful at times and arrogant in a "know-it-all" kind of way that turns students away. His "tough love" approach is genuine but misguided.
Moloney is a great teacher. People are down on him but he's really just trying to get you prepared for how things are when you transfer. He answers questions, but after he gives you the assignment, he won't answer until the end because he gave you a chance and actually wants YOU to work. Best prof I've had at Cerritos so far!
By far.... my FAVORITE teacher at Cerrios. He is inspirational and believes in each and every one of his students. The people who think contrary were probably not prepared when attending class and not putting in the time for this course. I definitely recommend Moloney!
If you are actually interested in learning accounting, DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! He is a horrible teacher, expects you to learn the material on your own, then when you ask him a questions he wants you to ask your neighbor. I actually decided to change my major because of him.. that horrible.
If you are interested in accounting do not take him!!! He talks a lot about things that have nothing to do with accounting. You basically have to learn on your own because he doesn't explain anything clearly. Nearly half the class dropped which is not good
He seems to be a hard teacher, but not at all. He is very helpful, and if he can't help he seeks for someone to help you but don't leave you alone, as long as you do your best and he sees that you try and not giving up he sure will be there for you. Attend class, do your homework and don't give up. You will pass.
Professor Moloney truly cares about his students and wants to prepare them for when they transfer. He is a great professor who really wants everyone to succeed in life. I would not say his class is the easiest, so make sure you do your part as a student and PUT IN THE WORK AND ASK QUESTIONS!
At first, I wasn't sure if I did the right decision of taking his class. Thought out the semester, he will always called on me. I was going threw hell that semester, and didn't want to get called on. However, he saw my potential and invited to an invent and change my life. He is a great professor. He always wants to help. You won't regret it.
Mr. Moloney is the best professor at Cerritos college! He was my first professor ever, don't get me wrong the first couple of days I was so scared and told myself what was I thinking, But TRuST Me hang in there if you want to be a successful student then take me. Maloney! Very very inspirational and helpful. you will change once you get him. BEST!!
Had him for Personal Finance class which was completely online. Responds to emails within a reasonable amount of time. All the quizzes and homework are submitted through publishers website. The material taught is very relevant to real life so pay close attention. No papers to write but there are mini projects. Had a positive experience overall.
Mr. Moloney is the best! He was my first ever professor at cerritos college. Because of him I challenged myself and pushed harder. He is very inspirational and plays a big role in my educational journey. I would take him again ! I took him for Acct 100 and 101 and he was amazing. Hes tuff at first, but TRUST me hang in there its worth it!!!!!!!!!
Challenging professor... But very realistic in a good way. Motivated me tremendously and pushed me to my limits. Although I finished his course with a B, I learned priceless material. Overall, Professor Moloney is a challenging, but GREAT professor. I highly recommend his courses to any student ready to take their education to the next level.
Prof. Moloney is a very inspirational teacher but he is also very pushy and will call out people during his lectures and talk about their educational future with them. I don't think it was appropriate at times but he really makes you think about your own education. Lectures are tough and so are the tests. Be prepared to study A LOT!
He has a sense of humor and gives a lot of wise and practical advice.
He tries to prepare you for a 4 year college. In theory is good. In practice not so much. Way to much at home work. Not sure he realizes how much he requires. Also very vague and cryptic. A straight answer would be nice. You can tell he cares but the bravado get in the way. I shouldn't have to go home and think did get even go over anything today?
His class was challenged. The material was not that hard, but it was a lot of work to do. Whoever is going to take his class shouldn't expect to understand from the lectures. You must study most of the time by yourself if you want to get an A.
Each homework assignment is done twice. Once through a program online, and once by hand in class. Sit in the front of class, redo your notes, learn Accounting terms from the book(helps a ton). Make sure to raise your hand. Visit him during his office hours for life advice. only abt. 20 multiple choice q's on exams, so practice his worksheets.
Expects you to learn everything on your own. Doesn't explain about assignments due. When you ask him a question he'll tell you to ask the person sitting next to you. If you're struggling go to his office hours. Get ready to put in work or take someone else. Overall this is a challenging class, not recommended for someone looking for an easy A.
This class will probably be one of the most stressful classes you will ever take. You can't BS your way in it, you have to work for it. Moloney is tough, but he cares. He challenges us because he wants us to succeed. There is a whole world out there and he is trying to get us to be part of it. Take his class if you want to become a better student.
One of the most caring and inspiring professors I've ever had. You will learn a lot in his class. Peter Moloney does a great job by preparing his students for when they transfer. If you put in the work, you'll do fine! If you expect an "Easy A", good luck to you when you transfer. He cares & wants his students to transfer to a good university
Moloney is the Professor that I believe every student should take at Cerritos College. He is extremely tough on all his students, but no other Professor will prepare you for University level work like he will. VISIT HIM IN HIS OFFICE HOURS! He is a completely different person in his office and will absolutely help you get to the school you want.
I enrolled in this class by chance but I never expected to be so pushed to my limits and so encouraged by Prof. Moloney to the point where I started aiming higher in school and in life. I've learned and experienced so much because he actually cares, one that actually wants to make a difference! You gotta work hard to reap the benefits
Took finance online. Book was necessary for code to access online. All homework and quizzes are online. He responds fast to emails. I definitely learned from finance and budgeting my own.
Quizzes and chapter work due every week. Try to do work ahead of time so you have time for other classes, pretty flexible class. Moloney was really nice to give me an extra point to bump my quiz grade from B-->A because the connect site lagged me out. He's understanding if you show you are serious and hardworking. Quite a bit of work but easy.
Be prepared when you come to class. Talk to Professor Moloney during his office hours. Listen to what he says even if you dont want to at first. Trust me, its worth it.
Able and willing to help any student out with questions via email or in person. He is like a personal trainer that wants you to get fit so he has strict policies for your future success. Friendly and smart; like a "dad."
The best.
Easy. If you can't put in the work and expect the answers to be spoon fed to you then college might not be for you.
Makes lectures relatable and is an awesome person to have in ur corner. knows a lot of people& cares about students who care about class, so he can help point you in the right direction if u have a life problem. Accessible in office hours and is an overall great professor. Don't miss class ¬ study or u will get dropped like me!!!!!!
Professor Moloney is the reason that I become motivated to reach for schools such as UC Berkeley, Stanfard, USC and Harvard. He doesn't just teach the material but also becomes kind of like your step father and helps change the way you see school work and life.
Professor Moloney is a gem. He'll make you work for your grade, but he's fair. He gives great advice about LIFE and will motivate you. I miss him and if you take his class you will miss him too.
Mr. M is a fantastic teacher and an even better person. Hard on his students becasue he want use to reach high potential. Anyone taking his class will be transformed to a better student, If they put the effort and work in. in short, this class is only hard if you do not put the right amount of study time.
As get ready to graduate from CSULB, Moloney played a huge role in preparing me for what lies ahead of community college. Making one request a 10-k annual report and research an F-500 company was instrumental to my abilities to excel at CSULB. I was so overprepared. Take his class, do the "time" and soak in everything the man has to tell you.
Moloney may be the most passionate and caring professor I have ever met, he was the first professor I had in my first year of college and I'm not sure where I would be without some of his help. He wants nothing more than for every student to succeed and even gave me advice and opportunity at every chance. He is worth your time.
The professor gives you access to notes with the most important things in the chapter, very helpful. Most of the class is self learning with his notes and a slideshow, but doable. Can be a lot of work, so don't leave it to last minute, but very effective way of learning.
Professor Moloney truly wants to see his students succeed. I would say that the method he uses to teach his class is to reinforce the basic concepts of accounting, which might seem tedious and unorthodox. He prefers to use his lecture time to challenge and engage his class on succeeding at a university or making it at a professional accounting firm
The online version of this class has nothing to do with this professor. I never actually learned anything from the professor at all. So be prepared to spend $100+ on a McGraw access code that automatically generates all of the homework, quizzes, and tests. The automated assignments are long and clunky at best. Very impersonal experience.
Took this class in the spring Online version. He is very passionate about giving information to students who are interested in their career to become a CPA. I like how he gave a few extra credit opportunities to us to help boost up are grade. You will have to attend to two campus events online to complete those extra credit assignments.
His class was interesting. There is a quiz, problems, learnsmart and quick studies on each chapter. He combines chapters for a test. Also there is a zoom you must attend to write a paper on. The paper is basically summarizing what the zoom was about. He is there to help so don't hesitate to email him.
Professor Moloney was the best. He cares so much about his students beyond accounting. He does a good job at explaining the material and doing hands on activities with partners. Do not be late to his class he will get mad but he does it for a good reason since the class is small and people interrupt the lecture. No phones, they must be shut off.
I like how the Professor really engages with the class. He makes sure to cover all the material and will ask you if you have understood the material. If you have not fully understood the material he will gladly go over it again and will even give you a different example so you can fully understand. Overall I completely recommend taking his class!
I like how he will interact with the class. He brings in speakers to give a clearer idea of what will be expected in the accounting field. He also responds to emails when help is needed which I found extremely helpful. I really like how you can tell that he wants us to succeed. Tours! He helps students see future transfer Universities!HES GREAT! :D
He'll make you a better student and give you the opportunity to learn about all the opportunities in your life that you are not seizing. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have applied and got accepted to UCLA, LMU, Berkeley, and USC.
. Usually, other professors won't drop you if you don't let them know you are active. But since I hadn't read his instructions carefully I got dropped and I tried to beg him to take me back to class but instead, he ghosted me. Not even a second chance or saying no at least which was rude and realized that he didn't care.
He comes off as cold and distant, and he's tough on students from the start. But this isn't just to be hard it's because he believes in us and wants to give the push that's often lacks in CC. He's there to support you both in and out of class if you're open to it, going above and beyond in ways most professors don't. Serious facade he actually care
I had a lot of respect for prof Moloney during his class, bc he pushed you to do better beyond his class. But he expects a lot from you in return for his help. I don't even have his class anymore and he still requires me to follow up with him weekly. He expects you to succeed through him and him only. Save yourself the headache and time.
Every week, I'd be stressed from his tantrums. His classes help but for me the person wasn't worth the academia. If you're aiming high keep going, I didn't need his help as much as he urged it. Life would've been better if I stayed on what I planned to do. Choose prof Osaki or Johnson instead. They were a lot more helpful without the tantrums.
He gives good advice but his lectures were boring and ineffective. The way he words his sentences is puzzling which left me and plenty of other students confused. I learned more from McGraw Hill than his lectures to be honest. I would not take him ever again. If you were to pick an Accounting professor choose Tsang or Johnson instead.
