He's the best science teacher I ever had. He has a strategicaproachintelligent
If you fail his class.. you don't belong in college.
Daily life examples make learning fun. Listens students comments and take action for it. Concerns with student.
easy, clear, nice, knows his stuff
Best science class & best science teacher ever. Is adorable & gets chills when he figures out how to explain stuff in a new way. Totally down to earth and available to students. easy quizzes, exams in same format but longer. Good phys sci +lab choice!!!!!
Cute teacher, great class, past tests/quizzes are posted up on website (loads of help) Very intelligent and helpful
he is a great teacher. he posts everything for the tests and quizes. All we need to do is just show up and understand what he is saying.....
He is so helpful. It is impossible to fail this class b/c he lets you make up every exam. Very lenient, very clear, makes physics interesting
He's a fair grader and gives many partial credits. In lecture, he gives lots of examples that help with exam preparation. He is highly recommended.
Great teacher at SMC. Though i found his course was a bit easy, if you learn what he has to teach youll benefit a lot. I highly recommend him over any other teacher. And by the way, youll definately be happy with the results you get at the end! Take him!
he is a good teacher. He expalin something very detail and clear. his test is not gonna be that hard and prety straight forward though. There are a lot of application given in this course that make physic is not a boring class.
i liked his class and going back to him for phy 22. the course in all was pretty easy for me. his style for teaching is great and he is very helpful and considerate. Not that challenging as phy should be as he posts up all his previous exams. recommended!
He is a helpful guy. The nicest teacher in SMC for sure!!!
He is a helpful guy. The nicest teacher in SMC for sure!!!
This guy is so easy but you have to be at class every day. He is so nice and understanding and if you do bad on the test he lets you make them up so you can walk away with a C. take him if you need a lab
I like him! he seems extremely cool and easy going!
He is a really cool guy and explains things very well. Sometimes he explains it too well and some of the people that already know it get bored but you will never be left behind. Tests are pretty easy and he has example tests from previous semesters online to download and practice from.
Am I the only one who thinks he is hard? I think he is thorough (with his exams). The examples he shows in class are easy. He makes them look easy. But exams are another matter.
Very nice guy and good teacher. Spends too much time on unimportant astronomy stuff, missing time for harder topics. Examples done in class are straight forward but his exams are HARD and tricky! I'm a 4.0 student and have a hard time keeping up. Definitely NOT an easy A unless you love physics.
Hey!!!!!!!!! Morse you are the best professor in the physics class. very clear and very helpful for the class. you are the best i have ever seen in SMC. thank for teaching me physics. i will never forget you.
You can't go wrong with Prof. Morse! It's true exams are a little more difficult than expected, but no more so than any other physics class. You'll learn alot with him. His lectures are clear and organized and he's very generous with his time out of class. You'll love his ability to explain physics.
the exams are unexpected and kind of difficult ...not a easy A teacher...
Just listen in class, do the quizz and everything will be cool.
Extremely clear, interesting, & energetic- best teacher I have ever taken. Attentive and well-organized. Responses to questions clarify material. Tests/quizzes are difficult; emphasizes theory, not calculation. Slow grader, cancels class too much (bummer!). Physics is hard, and he won't let you off easy- which helped me succeed in later courses.
He is simply the best!!!
the best Physics professor at SMC. If you have the opportunity to take his class, by all means take it. Passed the class w/ high B without reading the book. i didn't even own the book... jus have to make sure you listen to his lecture and use his old exams for study guide... his test are similar...
Amazing Professor... the best class I have ever taken at SMC!! such a fun class. peter keeps you entertained!!
Amazing Professor... the best class I have ever taken at SMC!! such a fun class. peter keeps you entertained!!
easy class pretty much... he grades hard on quizzes and midterms... nice guy, fun class.
easy and funny....i got an A. just take good notes and you will be fine!
He is nice--but he doesn't do your grade according to the syllabus. Quizzes ARE your grade in the end (plus the tests). In lab always on the internet. Could have been better. MUST be a self learner in class otherwise you will fall behind. Read the book to do well--it sucks! Read Isaac Asimov's "History of Physics" to LEARN.
Nice guy, always willing to help if you come to him when stuck... be careful, there's alot of concepts and at times it can be confusing, so make sure to stay on the ball. I never read the book, and did so-so on quizzes/tests (which he grades kinda harshly) and still got a B. Lab studies are a joke, just show up and do them. 1 easy 1 page paper.
Peter runs a great class, making a somewhat difficult subject much more managable. I would highly recommend taking this class if you just need one lab science and not really into field.
Nice and easy going professor. Very helpful and approachable - you could just go to his office during his office hours and ask him about ALL the things that you aren't clear of in class. Lectures are a tad unclear and might be confusing for some. Textbooks are not required but the online program is. Definitely will recommend you to take.
A GREAT CLASS TO TAKE. HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR.
Great teacher. Very nice and caring. Wants students to learn and will go out of his way to help you. He's one of the few teachers that's there to teach, not simply there for a pay check. Some physics concepts are difficult to grasp, but most are easy. You actually learn things that can be applied to every-day living. Highly recommended.
He is an outstanding teacher, but his test questions are unclear and can get a bit too tricky at times. On top of that, he grades very harshly. Easy to get a B in, but gotta work a little harder to get an A
I expected more out of the class. WHen i asked him for help, he seemed very unaprochable. NOt a hard class if you need a lab, but hard to get a A. THis class Was better than other science class I have taken.
He is very helpful and teaches very well. But on the downside, his tests can be too tricky as he likes to word them differently than his lectures in class. A somewhat easy class to get a B in but you gotta work/think a bit more to earn an A.
THIS IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD AT THIS SCHOOL. you will learn so much about your world and how things work. he knows his material and answers all your questions. the quizzes are hard and you definitely HAVE TO STUDY there are only three major tests. you need the code in the book to do the online homework. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You absolutely must take this cl****!! This was the most fun time and he teaches actually interesting stuff! You have to go to EVERY cl**** and study for EVERY quiz! If you make it past the first midterm without completely choking, you have a good chance of coming out on top. Do the homeworks, they are gimmees! Make sure you make it fun, cuz it is!!
I have never really understood physics until I had Prof. Morse! His class is so enjoyable and he connects physics to your everyday life, which makes it easier to understand. I took this class in summer-so it was very intensive but if you pay attention and study lecture notes you will do good. He is vey helpful, dont be afraid to ask questions!!!
Peter is the best teacher I have had so far. He really wants you to do good & understand the info. He is more than willing to answer questions & help you- you just have to let him know if you aren't understanding something. He is so patient. Do the practice quizzes & tests- they really help. He made Physics really interesting.
Great class! Prof Morse it awesome he truly wants his students to succeed and makes physics fun and interesting. Take professor Morse!!
great teacher... really helpful at office hour or in class... but not the easiest test you will see... no scantrons what so ever.. HE WILL TRICK YOU on quizzes and midterms.... so good luck... really nice and good teacher for physics 21 or anyother physics i assume.. dont use books or require at class but since you will use it in 21 22 23 24 why no
He is very nice but his quizzes and tests are tricky. after the first exam(which is easy) the exams get a lot harder. simply doing the practice quiz/tests isnt enough. do extra hw problems and mastering physics. everyone in my class was a genius in physics, and they got 90+ on most exams. if you arent a genius like them, go to office hrs
Took Intro w/lab. NO MATH. Awesome. Hilarious and sooooo thought provoking
he's the best professor.clear and helpful and very to students!
so overated for 21.. dont take this guy for 21. i so agree with the guy before me. his test are so tricky that by just doing examples wont help. I also thoguht the masteringphysics WERE USELESS to grade or test prep. i mean hes a nice guy but dont take him for 21 ever.. seriously i got B in 21 but A in 22 awkward isnt it. take rodrigeuz or bresloff
iono so much about this guy in 21 he became hard i was a borderline but he wouldnt raise the grade so oh well he is a good lecture an ok grader but he does not curve the test nor the grade so good luck with him
Peter is a good teacher. He will let you redo quizzes were you get a low score. He posts his old exams on his website and they are usually similar to the ones you get. Do the homework and practice with the old exams and you will be fine.
i dont agree with some stuff with below review. all you can get from redoing quizzes are C. the exams were irrelevant from the previous exams.. only more trickier.. do not study from past exam/quiz you will suffer.. i dont seriously get how homework ever helps in this class.. really nice teacher thoguh
Many of his tests and quizzes were silmiar to the old ones that he posted on his physics homepage. if u study old exams and quizzes on his hompage, you probably can do well.
on exams, he simply doesnt want to know if you get the basic concepts(which is what exams SHOULD be about). he wants to know if you know the subject of physics front and back. i stuided previous exams,hw,in class examples. and come test time, that didnt matter. it's like i didnt even study. his q's are very tricky on exams. no curve either.
i dont get why he even put up the old exams cause they dont even help (well it should at least demonstrate what type of questions that will be up but it doesnt even do that) and he shows easy examples and tricks you thats whats gonna be on test.. wth
TAKE HIS CLASS. I was trippin out about this class when I registered but everything turned out great. Problem is that people dont take the initative or want to apply themselves. I got an A in the class by going to office hours once or twice a month, and never bought the text. Great guy, down to earth and willing to help. Highly Reccomended
great professor. quizzes and exams are straightforward if you understand the concepts. some questions can get really tricky. as long as you understand the material and redo the past quizzes, you should have no problem getting an A. ask any questions you have during his office hours, he is really helpful. i won't say its an easy A, but its possible!
very cool professor. when people asks him some questions that he doesn't know how to answer, he answers it honestly by saying he don't know instead of making up some explanations. tests are very easy and straightforward if you attend all his classes and pay attention in his class. remember to take notes as they are very impt, textbook is useless!
It is a hard class, and i think the tests are pretty hard. over all the physics and chem i had this was the only class i got b, and i thought the old exams were useless and the test is way too hard with no curves so be warned if you take major physics
Helpful, fun, easy to understand and thorough. He'll really test you on quizzes and exams, but it's nothing he hasn't shown in class, on practice exams or homework. Make sure you figure out what you don't know and go to office hours to get it cleared up. Favorite teacher at SMC by far.
I hated physics before I took this class. He makes it fun and easy to understand. One of my favorite teachers so far ♥ him.
Prof Morse is a great teacher and very approachable. The tests are a bit tricky but overall its good for physics. He's very sweet and wants the students to do well! Def take Physics w him!
Me=science geek, but "easy" explanations he uses don't help me because I'm not motivated by sugar coated. Maybe should've taken 21 instead. Felt I would have to unlearn easy way & learn "real" physics later. Didn't try hard, but I'd still say tests weren't that helpful. True: he's tricky. Still one of the most beautiful and wonderful men I've seen.
learn physic since 7 grade and hate physic from that time, i have no choice but have to take physic and it seem like hell for me until i took his class. he made me feel easier with physic and learn a little bit more about physic. 6 yrs learning physic and didn't know what acceleration is until took his class, how stupid i am =.="
Honestly, this class was pretty easy. You do have to study but come on it's physics! The practice tests were similar to his real ones. I don't think he graded our one lab report. 3 tests and a final, you should do fine. He's the easiest of physics 6 teachers by far.
He's a nice guy. But he doesnt curve. And to get a "B" or "A" on exams, you REALLY have to know your stuff. His old tests are useless since he switches things up for every midterm. he does easy examples in class , but on the exams, he puts hard problems. For me, that doesnt translate to a good professor. Want no curve+hard exams? Then he's your guy
outstanding Teacher!!! very interesting class to attend! the best physics class. very easy to pass, you don't need to know any physics before attending!!
Prof. seems like a great guy, is a total cutie and an awesome teacher! Uses interesting real world examples and fun labs. I did not use the book, just paid close attention in class and did practice exams from his website and I got an A. It's a tough subject but he's got a great teaching style! Two Thumbs UP!!
If you don't get an A in this class, you should definitely forget about becoming an engineer. This class is so easy. Prof. Morse treats us all like babies and we don't know a thing. He spoon feeds the information and practically digests it for you. If you get bored, you can take a nice nap, and you won't miss a thing. All his notes are on-line.
If you already know the material, of course it will be easy. I'm new to physics so it wasn't easy for me. His tests are fair but challenging. Class is a lot of fun and he cares a lot about the students. He'll even make sure you understand the math behind the physics, not just expect you to know it. Not a sink or swim teacher. Highly recommended.
The master physics homeowrks are useless. You should do the book homework. But you don`t have enough time to do master physics.I tried to do master physics with but i didn`t learn anything. So on the exam students that did not do master physics and solved the book had better grades.
Best teacher ever. I failed physics in high school and got an A in this class because he really knows how to explain every little detail for everyone to understand. Homework online was useless and annoying but he has example tests that is all u need to succeed.
Professor Morse is a great lecturer and a very knowledgeable person. The tests are mostly from the materials that he teaches in the class and also the online home works. He is a fair grader, and the method he uses to teach is exceptional. I enjoyed every seconds of his class. He is my favorite professor in SMC!!
Peter is an excellent professor! His knowledge of and passion for physics is apparent and will keep you engaged. He is very approachable and eager to help should you have any questions. He gives ample review material prior to a test and the exam format is identical to reviews. NOTE the exams can be tricky if you don't thoroughly read the question.
My physics experience with Peter Morse was a truly life-changing experience. I wish he taught every one of my classes, that is how much he positively impacted me as an SMC student. I swear, he makes all my previous professors look bad. I highly recommend, please take him if you can. He's really not like other professors, you won't be sorry.
Excellent teacher, really knows how to teach. Does a lot of examples, has past exams posted online (helpful). online homework not too useful. RECOMMENDED 100%, you will learn, guaranteed.
BEST professor I have ever seen in U.S, most responsible teacher here! His assignment is really useful. Just do it and take notes, then you will get a good grades. I strongly recommend you guys take his class. I am an international student. My poor English doesn't matter, he explain everything in detail.
Seriously the Best Professor to teach Physics. I took Physics before with another teacher, i withdrew it was that bad. Professor Morse explains everything clearly and everything you need to know he writes on the board. He has practice quizzes and exams available for you. Do them they help. Overall best teacher and teaching methods.
If you take one class at Santa Monica college, take physics with Peter Morse. He is the most passionate, fun, interesting professor and he genuinely cares about each student. His lectures are crystal clear, 100% of the material is in notes and practice quizzes online. Even if you have no proclivity in math, you will succeed. Thumbs up.
Not as easy as everyone is saying. Be careful!!3
I took Physics 12 in the spring and found it to be very difficult for me. One thing I did not like about this professor is that he doesn't go by the book, so you have no references to look at. Also his lectures are essential, you cannot miss a lecture, otherwise you will be completely lost because the notes he posts online are very brief.
Really good professor who provides all the resources (old exams, quizzes, homework) to pass the class. Textbook is not needed. Pretty easy A class if you do the practice tests. Lectures and examples are pretty fun. Take if you need a non lab class.
