He is very current with social topics- music and will surprise you with his comments. Participations is required, you will come to the board to solve problems! It's math, the subject that most struggle with, however , with professor Phan, it is not that dreadful to sit through and keep up with as long as you dont miss classes. Moderate amount of homework, projects, and tests. Is not overly demanding but gets work done.

Hes funny and a master of his craft however if you do not like a lot of attention think twice as class participation gets you far in his class. He will place attention on you even if you struggle and its only added pressure. He needs to understand that not everyone likes attention or pressure. If you are good or decent in math go for it !

I LOVE HIM! Here I am in Baruch taking calculus one year later AND I'm still thinking about him. I really miss his lectures and how funny he was. I wished he offered Calculus in short session but he only offered pre-calc or else I'd def take him again. I miss him as we speak! As long as you focus, do your HW, and STUDY, you'll pass! Prof. Phan is one of the most inspirational and amazing professors I have came across in LaGuardia so far. his teaching was precise and effective as his teaching style filled with jokes and inspirational stories keeps the whole class active and cooperative. I would recommend all to choose him if you are taking statistics MAT120.

Professor Phan is the best Professor at LAGCC! He really cares for all students and try all he can to help us. He give extra credit, explain how many times are necessary. I would recommend his classes if you are not the top best student in math but still need to go through it. He'll definitely make a good impact in your academic life!

Hardest class I ever took! I struggled bad but professor ensured that we understood the material. Prof was very funny and his story is very inspirational. He's a great professor. Gives out extra credit. Very inspirational story and cares deeply about his students performance in the class. Pretty funny so time in class can also go by fast. Only negative is large amount of material covered at a fast pace in class. Study little bit outside of class and do homework it will be very easy.

Prof. Phan was amazing. Took him this spring semester and srsly the best mat120 professor. Make sure to do all the homework!! homework is super easy as long as you pay attention to his lectures. He gives inspirational speeches here and there but he wants to make sure you succeed. ALSO MAKE SURE TO STUDY FOR FINAL EXAM!! You won't be disappointed!

Nobody will fail his class if you just assignments and participate in class. His extra credit will take away your headache if you are one of those maths hater. His way of teaching is fun. Everybody fight for first bench unlike the last bench. Even last benchers will be first bencher in his class. Its like maths olympiad. We learn maths like a game.

This the Best Statistic professor I have ever had. This professor cares about the students and wants everyone to learn and do well. A true testament of what a professor should be. Professor Phan is the nicest within the Math department. In response to the previous commentor, Professor Phan does not ignore students questions, instead he tries to help them by completing multiple examples of every problem during class and encourages the students to positively use use youtube to help them better understand the concepts.

Entertaining lecturer, great guy. When it comes to his teaching, its in the middle. not horrible, not best either. he teach what you need to know, how to use calculator, to use youtube. he fair. he could improve in teaching. the students either complain too much or sugarcoat things.. Elementary statistics is a very challenging subject and professor Phan does a good job of narrowing down to the essentials, and finding solutions as efficiently as possible. You need a calculator. Professor is also very cognizant of the student's personal circumstances and gives plenty of chances for extra credit. Hilarious story-teller. Gracias!

Professor Phan makes stats fun with his engaging lectures and great sense of humor. While the class isn't a cakewalk, he provides plenty of extra credit to help you succeed. Using Unstuck study along with the free textbook and attending office hours is key to mastering the material.

Prof. Phan is an amazing mathematic professor. He does his best to keep his students engaged into lectures; by comparing the problems to real life situations: such as playing poker. He is very straight forward and takes his time when breaking down a difficult subject. He makes sure everybody understands it as well. He is the best!

To be honest, I was very bad in Math however, professor Phan gave me confidence and took out my skills. I recommend 💯 %. He indeed is the goat of Math in LGCC.

He's a passionate professor, an old school professor, with a excellent learning methodology, explaining all topics more than one time, answering all questions, being really patience with every single type of student, very approachable, very kind, in general his grade criteria is very easy to understand, he gives a lot of extra points to pass. 10/10
