I am not a great math student, but he made everything seem reasonable. He wants everyone to do well. Homework from his own book models test questions. Take him if you have a chance.

Great professor! His personality is awesome which helps to make his lectures fun and easy to follow. You can tell that he genuinely wants to see his students succeed and he is always willing to help you out. You use the textbook he wrote and if you do the homework, the tests are a breeze. He's also great about partial credit! Take him if you can.

Took Math 117 (stats). Best math class I have taken. Always been horrible at math but Saggese was the best professor I have had and I actually looked forward to class. Prof Saggese is an extremely knowledgeable person. The only thing I didn't like about the class was that what he teaches in class and what you do for homework is very different. Expect many hours of homework. Homework can be extremely frustrating...

Saggese is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He explains everything thoroughly and is very specific about everything in class. He is amazing with partial grading on test. Homework is required but it's not due until the day of the test for that homework group. If you can take him for stats DO IT!!

Really good teacher. I learned a lot from him. Never skipped class because if I did I would probably fall behind. Asked a lot of questions in class, always really nice and has no problem answering a million questions. Pretty easy grader gives credit as much as possible! Really nice guy, but A LOT of hw & it's only 10% of grade, wish it were more.

He grades fairly and even though we learn a lot of info in one class period he makes it fun.. attendance counts and I highly recommend not missing too many classes!

I took College Algebra just to fulfill my 1 math requirement. Since I already knew the material, this was basically just a refresher course (it got kinda boring). But Dr. Saggese is an amazing professor and makes sure you understand before moving on. He teaches math in a way that makes sense. Hw is due on the test day so make sure to spread it out!

Dr. Saggese is great! I had him for Intro to Stats, and I was terrified because I took AP Stats in high school and barely got by. Dr. Saggese made Stats clear and understandable. He assigns you homework in bulk and gives a due date, so you can get it done when best for you. Tests parallel the material. By far, one of my favorite professors!

Great teacher, as long as you show up to class and make an effort to understand. He makes sure you understand the material before moving on. Tests and homework are only grades, but tests are very straight forward . I loved the class though i was a little bored sometimes. You mainly use the book for homework.

I had Professor Saggese for Biostatistics. Not only is he an excellent teacher, he shows interest in his students, is approachable, has clear grading criteria, and is a fair grader. As long as you show up to class and do your work you will not only get the grade you will learn a lot!!

He is reasonably flexible w/ every student's schedule (sports, illness, etc) and he dedicates his extra time to helping students understand the material. He gives out a thorough topic list before every exam and homework pertaining to the exam material. He also won't bore you to death.

Great teacher. He kept the material straight forward, encouraged questions, was very clear in expectations. Only issue was with the book, he does not ask questions in a similar way, yet we used the book for HW which was not that useful in preparing for tests. He does give a lot of handouts with useful exs, but still requires book HW.

If someone did not understand something he would help thoroughly explain it until they grasped the problem. He's also very funny making lectures fun.

A very large amount of the grade is based on in class tests. To make up for this the tests are very straightforward. Everything in class is on the exams, and there are calculator cheats tutorials that he'll show. So it's good to attend all classes. He's helpful so go to him if you have questions.

If you pace yourself with homework and pass it in before the test he grades is quickly and gives feedback. He encourages questions and goes through problems step by step! Take him if you can!

An Outstanding Professor!! If you have to take Statistics, you definitely want to take it with him! He teaches the "Dismal Science of Statistics" in a way that is very understandable. A "Bleachah Creachah Teachah" - Uses "regular guy/girl" examples you can relate to. (you will never eat M&M's that same way again ;)

Favorite professor at FSU! He is like a comedian. He is so accessible outside of class and makes statistics easy to understand with relevant and fun examples. Lots of homework but simply make an effort and you will receive points for it. I didn't have to take the final because I had at least a 94 average at the end of the semester.

Really liked! Felt very basic, but I definitely learned a ton by the end. Attendance doesn't count, but things move fast, so try not to miss too many classes unless you have someone to give you the notes. Thought there were a lot of tests (1 every few classes), but it ended up being nice that each covered less material. Do h/w early!

I had him for Bio stats it was the only class I felt like I could be myself all semester. He makes his students feel really comfortable in class and around him. If you attend class you will pass the class because all his exams are strictly off of classwork.

One of the easiest and best classes I took. Everything is explained during class and the textbook is written by the professor so the language is the same. Ive met with him many times outside of class and he is extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and take a class with him again

I took Biostats. You will pass this class IF you put in the effort. He explains the material very well, and he is a real comedian when it comes to relating material to real life. This class moves fast, so if you skip a lecture you will be lost. I hated the textbook and homework, but exams strongly reflect all of the in class work. Great professor!

It is essential for you to attend lectures as he covers everything in depth and he will test you pretty much on all the material covered in class. Tests are long but he gives you a topic list and as long as you know that, you are golden. He won't track you with anything he did not cover. He is available for office hours everyday. Too much HW though

Professor Saggese was my favorite teacher. He made stats understandable and was always available for extra help. There is homework due on the day of each test (5 tests). If you turn the homework in early he will return it with comments, so you can study for the test.

Dr. Saggese is awesome. He provides realistic examples that make it easier to understand concepts. He also gets off topic quite often and tells good stories, which is a nice break from stats talk. His tests can be a little hard, but if you go to class, you basically get enough practice.

This class is a class where you earn the grade you want by how much effort you put in. The pace is kind of fast and this is not a class you should skip. Clearly explains everything and the textbook holds a lot of good useful information. If you complete all the homework and understand how to do it, you will get an A.

I'm terrible at math, but I had to take a course to fill a gen ed. I'm not done with the course yet, but I have a really good grade, the best I've ever done in a math class. He's gonna come off as really intense at first, but as long as you show that you want to do well in the class, you will be on his good side and you'll be just fine.

Awesome teacher! The textbook went provided went hand and hand with the class periods he taught. Everything being taught throughout each chapter was done very thoroughly and he makes aspects of statistics easily understood compared to some teachers that leave you out in left field when teaching. You certainly won't be bored with his sense of humor.

I took a class with Professor Segasse because all my friends say he is an awesome lecturer. And they're right! He made it very understandable, which is important in Mathamatics. Take him if you ever get the chance! You won't regret it!

The classes are mostly lecture but be sure to take notes because the examples given sometimes are mimicked in the tests. You are given 5 test dates and each test has a list of homework that are done for that test date. Usually around 15 pages. He grades mostly on completion but if there are mistakes he will comment for understanding. Don't skip HW.

I never really enjoyed or understood math in my life, and he made it so I understood everything that I worked on with his lectures and the way he taught the class! I took Biostatistics with Dr. Saggese (Spring 2020) and I was so grateful I had him for this course. He is incredibly thorough and tells you exactly what you need to do in order to pass. There are never any tricks or surprises, you know exactly what to expect. Definitely would recommend taking a course with him!!!

This class was a lot of work, but Professor Saggese is helpful and knows what he teaches. Be ready for lots of homework. There are no quizzes, but there are 5 tests. Luckily one is a take home.

I took Stats 107 over the summer with Professor Saggese. He gives you detailed instructions, lectures are very thorough, and accommodates you with what you need. He is a very understanding teacher and if you put in the work, its an easy A. Overall one of the best math teachers ive had a longggg time. Highly recommend.

I was initially very scared because his emails were always passive aggressive. However, he is the best math teacher I have ever had. Due to covid we were all online. Just attend the lecture and ask questions. The tests are derived from what we learn, no tricks. The book he made and is so helpful with problem examples. I would SOOO recommend him! :)

at first I was nervous to take a STATS class but professor Saggese made me feel comfortable in the class. He clearly explains each math problem we do and goes over any questions you may have. Since class was online it was hard to keep focus on time but he records the lectures so you can always go back which was super helpful especially for homework

Professor Saggese is very effective when delivering his lectures, and he has a great pace and organization when walking you through the applications of statistical data and how to interpret everything. Prof. Saggese is one of the best professor i've had during my college career. His lectures are engaging and he explains things in the perfect pace. His textbook is easy to understand, has practice exams and is really as if he is talking to you (he wrote it). He answers emails at any time asap and really helps you succeed.

Prof Saggese is a great professor. He explains in the first week that attendance is not mandatory but if you miss class you will fall behind. He doesn't do make ups unless its for documented medical or grievance. All in all great professor who only wants to help.

I would marry Peter if I could, I had him last semester and he was funny, caring and overall just a great professor. He assigns lots of homework, but you have about 2-3 weeks to complete it all. This class is very doable for students who have never taken STATS like me. I highly recommend, hes amazing.

Saggese is a great professor. This rating is for how the homework is set up. Theres SO MUCH homework and pretty much a 2-3 week turn around for exams. The homework topics are due after the exam is taken.. not sure how that helps us practice or if this honestly is on purpose. It's just hard to grasp a new topic when you have to do HW on last weeks.

Mr. Saggese's biostatistics course was very good. The material covered in the lectures was always well explained at a reasonable pace. Lectures were engaging and informative. The professor was each approachable, accommodating, and organized. Tests were always fairly written and graded as well. I would recommend this class to anyone in the sciences.

Great professor with very clear goals and expectations of his students. Very clear and concise. Straightforward grading. Homework typically covers a lot of material, but attempts grant full credit. Tests are heavily weighted, but no surprises on test day (exams always cover expected material), and there is almost always extra credit on exams.

I have never taken a stats class in my life and Saggese really teaches it well. He gives lots of homework however, the homework prepares you for tests. The tests were pretty straight forward and he gives you study guides for each one. My only advice for the class is to not under estimate the final exam. I had an A going into the final but B+ it is.
