Very one sided. Beware.
Confusing....
sooo Boring!!!
Very one-sided. Really beware. Don't plan on getting an A. Unfair grading.
He needs to quit. Worst professor ever. Likes to hear himself talk.
i wanted to kill myself for taking his class.

"i like to hear myself talk, did i mention i work for Duke Power....."
Class is stimulating but grading is strict.
Likes to talk on the news about airlines
In his mind, he's always right. It's worthless giving your opinion.
entire class has almost nothing to do with tests, avoid this guy
Very strict grading ! And he doesn't write coherently and handwriting sloppy!
can yoiu please straighten your tie for heaven's sake? BORING.......

Very Specific
i've never seen anyone that enthusiastic about economics
tough but you'll learn
This is really one of the best profs in the dept--he really knows his stuff. But don't take his courses if you're not interested in really applying yourself, you won't slide by.

Stay clear...good guy? mabye. Good professor? mabye not.
Schwarz is not the teacher that you want for econ of the firm. he is extreamly boring, makes tests different thaN the way he teaches, and when one on one - HALATOSIS!
Goes over details thoroughly. Make sure you attend class and take good notes. Tests are from notes and chapters in text.
He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. I attended his class everyday, but learned nothing. I would go by his office for help and it was pointless. He would make you feel like you didnt know anything. Your in for a treat if you take his class.
He loves the subject and hes nice. He trys hard but his test are not from this world. He is hard to talk to. He is some times insulting but he dose not mean to. Iam a top student so iam willing to work but I still found him to be a poor writer of test
This is the hardest class in Business school and should NOT be taught by this guy. He's very smart, but a poor educator. I suggest another professor or get a really good tutor!!
Total jerk. Avoid him at all costs.
His tests are IMPOSSIBLE, and as a teacher he's even WORSE. Do not take this class unless you don't mind being miserable for a semester.
This class was ridiculously hard. Extremely confusing for no reason. Do not take this class.
He's so predictable that the class is hard to stay awake. He has that montonous voice that makes the whole class drowsy. He dosen't have a real entertaining way to relate the material to class. Boring.
Well organized. Timely. Read and do HW and you'll be fine. Not very demanding. I was taking two classes and working full time.

One of my favorite classes ever. Very interesting subject matter if you're interested in economics or law. If you're an Econ major, I recommend this course as an elective. Just make sure to do the reading before class and review for tests.
What a horrible little man! He will go out of his way to make you feel ignorant and stupid - also makes offensive personal comments in class. Absolutely DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! You will regret it everytime he opens his rude mouth to insult you.
For someone that with a PhD he cannot write an exam. For each exam he gave us , he must have corrected 1700 mistakes including changing the numbers after you have worked the problem. Also picks on students; makes him feel better i guess. his breaks are literally 2-3 min. made the class very hard. Take him if you like to be abused; he will deliver!
Great class!! I hated economics before this class...but he made it very interesting. Was it easy? Not at all...I worked my butt off in that class and I did fairly well. Don't take this class if you want to slide by...take it if you want to actually learn something by working hard.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. HE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER.
STAY AWAY!! I am a non-traditional student & have to say as a Senior at UNCC Peter Schwartz is the WORST teacher I've experienced to date. He does not "TEACH" economics, he "QUESTIONS" students and puts you under the spotlight unless you're his "FAVORITE". He is too fast. Makes you feel stupid if you ask questions. I got a "B" from another teacher.
great class
it was good
Nice enough guy but not a very good professor. His method of teaching was a bit off. The class itself was easy but no thanks to him. Common sense pulled me through this one. He's very smart, but teaching may not be his forte.
Very easy and clear class. I got an A without doing much. Prof was easy to understand.
good class
Definitely a professor who is not helpful by no means, and very rude at times. I did not enjoy his teaching habits.. especially with his scribbling on the overhead. I do not recommend at all. Stay away, unless you want an F.
This prof would not be my first choice of someone to take. His teaching is a bit hard to follow, but as long as you halfway study you'll do alright in the class.
the class was pretty straightforward. it's easy to do well unless you don't study at all.
not bad. all the tests are multiple choice and that's your whole grade; so you just have to do well on those and they're pretty easy.
i got an A and i rarely went to class
Great!
Got an A without taking the final
nice overall
very easy if you go to class and do the required readings.
Dr. Schwarz is a very nice man. He is more than willing to take time outside of class to help his students learn and understand the material. He has the tendency to ramble sometimes, but overall he is effective. The best part about him is that he enjoys discussion and talking about his students' views, which he respects no matter the opinion.
he is absolutely awful. awful notes. tests are hard. i made outlines and summarized all chapters and he tore up my tests. the more i wrote to satisfy him, the more points he took off. to pass, u need to memorize word for word the book.
nice when your one of his favorites. pissed me off when he called the area i came from terrorists. don't take him for an elective.
take your own notes. he draws all over the overhead.
Not a very difficult class. He has quizzes and grades homework, so you must keep up with the class. You must be able to write pretty fast in order to finish his exams. The final is not cumulative and is optional.
Very helpful and overall nice guy
great great great. very fair tests, not much other work
If you're not one of his favorites withdraw early. Seems to go out of his way to embarrass certain students for asking questions. The subject matter of the class is interesting but he is terribly rude. Would not recommend.
Very hard class! Test are essay and difficult. Read the chapters at least 3 times. You almost have to memorize the material to do well on the tests. He picks favorites and occastionally embarasses students. I would do anything to go back and withdrawl from that class.
Good Professor. Found his dry humor entertaining. If you aren't good at calc or math, then try another prof. Tests were challenging, but fair. Talk about baseball to get on his good side.
Difficult prof. Need to know calculus to follow along in class. Very nice guy, a bit dry but brightens up when you talk about a unique economic problem (like baseball salaries & Moneyball). Tests are hard; not intentionally tricky, but he expects you to detect slight variances from HW problems. Final paper, if you work hard, will help your grade.
Professor is clear and goes to some length to explain economic concepts. During the lectures he does seemed concerned and is ready to listen to different viewpoints. He does try to help students sometimes also. But his tests are hard and you almost need to memorize the textbook to be able to get a decent grade in his class. And sometimes nitpicks.
Avoid at all cost. His tests are all essay format.Does not believe in giving a 100. On my participation he put"Great class input, perfect attendance" and gave me a 90.. He will nitpick you to death and when you challenge his points he will embarrass you. Do not waste your time going to his office to question anything. He is RIGHT and YOU ARE WRONG.
If you want to spend all weekends working on long homework and take home exams that are not based on the lecture notes and at the end get very bad grade then take his classes. he is not a normal professor he is mysterious. also he takes a lot about personal stuff that you don't CARE!!!!
Awful experience! I expected the information to be clear & concise, but rather it was confusing and the volume was ridiculous. Dr. Schwarz did not explain material well, and taught the majority of the economics portion in one lecture period. I don't care how smart you are, if you have not seen this material in years it will not help! Avoid!
Tough class and tough teacher. Have to memorize his lectures and the book word for word to do well on homeworks and tests. Tests are essay with 5 multiple choice questions. Book is a tough read. Waste of time, do not waste the time and money. Become one of his favorites, otherwise good luck getting a good grade in the class.
If the answers aren't exactly word for word as his, its wrong. This makes getting a good grade difficult as he grades homework very harshly. While in class you have to attempt to take notes, teaching style is all over the place and writing is illegible. Take this class if you want to see your GPA nosedive. Save yourself the valuable time and money.
He doesn't know much, except what he knows. Very ideological and narrow-minded.
He thinks that his way is the right way when giving subjective questions. Has a lot of tenure and no time to negotiate its his way or the highway. Only cares about how he sounds to the class doesnt care about the students. Has no problem failing you or accusing you of cheating. A good way to describe him is egotistical.
If you are really concerned about your grades, don't even try to take it. I always got A in my life but here grading is horrible, exams are tough. After putting lots of effort too u cant expect A. B is also difficult. Best of luck if you are taking this course even after reading all this reviews. Taking this class was biggest mistake of my life !
Dr. Schwarz is one of the smartest professors I have taken. Take prior reviews with a grain of salt. Of course a college course is going to challenge you, of course it is not supposed to be easy. Work hard, study, attend lecture and you will do fine.
Too much work for an elective. He skims over the math and does not work out the problems so you understand. Seeking him out for clarification on the math is futile. Unless you have a strong desire to learn about energy as it relates to Econ and are willing to put in hard work for a B, then do not take him.
Extremely tough grader. Cannot stress that enough. Tests basically determine your grade. Only 2 and a final. I'd like to see two tests before the withdrawal period. Gives homework quizzes but they will not help your grade much at all if you don't test well. Tests are 75% of the grade and he grades ruthlessly. Not a bad guy just very nitpicky.
I originally signed up for an Econ elective, figuring that Energy Econ couldn't be too difficult. Boy was I wrong. Prof Schwarz is a ridiculously tough grader and provides WAY too much information in the lectures/powerpoints. It's hard to pinpoint what to study for highly weighted exams. I wouldn't recommend this class unless you love to struggle
Cannot stress this enough, do NOT take for senior seminar. I did fairly well in this class, so I'm not saying this because I failed or anything. 3 long take home tests. Hours of homework, at least one assignment for each class. Pop quizzes in the form of reading quizzes. Group project where you essentially teach the class for a week. Don't do it.
Dr. Schwarz is an extremely tough grader who will give minimal partial credit. He also lectures for the whole 3 hour time period and provides tests that ask you about the littlest detail. The tests also dont relate to the HW problems.
He wrote the textbook to this class and he will quiz you on the minor details in the textbook.
He is extremely specific in the answers he is looking for. If you don't meet his specific requirements you will get half credit at most otherwise you will receive no credit for your answer.
He does not explain things very well and he rambles during his presentations. He grades test very hard and if it is not what he is looking for it is not going to be counted correct. He is not very understanding of certain situations and why you may be late to class or why you have to leave class early. This is the worse professor Ive ever had.
Dr. Schwarz is an intelligent professor, but his lectures are pretty monotonous. Do not take this course if it is only for an additional 3 credit hours (this was my mistake). He is a tough grader and there are weekly homework assignments. Attendance is not mandatory, but he will dislike you if you miss frequently (he hated me). Fair, but difficult.
Insists on being a tough grader, yet objectives and correct answers are not clearly defined. He's the most inconsiderate human I have met. His comments and feedback are very petty. Don't take his class
If you really like econ and really want to do some in-depth learning of interesting and valuable theory, than take his class. It will be challenging for sure! I had to really think about what I was reading, re-read, rinse, repeat. However, I came away from his class genuinely enriched. Time and money well spent. Also, he's definitely not boring.
He expects you to bend over backwards constantly. Sign up for one of his classes and you'll spend your weekends just trying to keep up. My real rating of him is -2/5.
Tough grader and does not provide feedback
Professor is having lack of technical skills. we spent part of the lecture trying to resolve problems with white boards, sound, connection, etc. He used book heavily and provides not very clear presentations. Tests are hard, be ready to work on them during the weekend in order to pass. Overall I would grade for 2,5 - 3 points out of 5.
He was the worst professor I have ever taken. We started the class with 38 people. By the time I dropped, there were 13 people left. His lectures are difficult to follow. He hand writes everything on the computer where you cannot read his writing. His exams are different from what is gone over in class. He makes it a calc class....
Hands down one of the worst professors I've ever had. If you can get a decent grade in this class, you should consider changing your major to engineering.
