Great teacher! Get this teacher...very easy and that's great because this is a hard class. He even says his test are easy. Also makes very cute jokes!
This professor is totally inexperienced. The class was his first and probably last. He could not accept being corrected when he made stupid mistakes ie teaching one thing and testing on another. I do not recommend him at all. He never worked with or lab prof in order for us to be on track NEVER HAPPENED. A in lab and C in lecture. HORRIBLE LECTURES
Good professor with easy to follow power point presentations. Teaches from a medical perspective. Has bonus questions built into test. Just don’t be stupid enough to get caught cheating on one of them.
Look up boring in the dictioary you will find his picture. SKip this one. Find another. He stinks!
charges 50 dollars an hour for one on one tutoring. We are broke college students.
Very Bright He really knows is stuff Great educator
Very straight forward test.Give many bonus points.
good teacher
very fair.
great tutor
Very helpful as a tutor. Makes things very easy.
Great Tutor. I finally understand cellular respiration.
Very helpful tutor. Get him free at biolearning center.
Excellent teacher! i have him for and lecture and lab. You can def do well if u are willing to learn and def study a lot. He explains all the material really well plus hes a really nice, relatable guy! he gives extra credit on most tests. Awesome man, def def take him.
Sick professor. Madd down to earth and actually chills with you during lab. He knows everything off the top of his head, he curves, and he surprises you. I could have swarn i failed and when i looked at my grade it was a c+ definitly recoment 100%
Hands down the best prof. I've had in this subject. He is clear and concise. X-tra credit on the test were wonderful grade boosters. He was available for x-tra help in the bio center. If you need to pass this class take him(but lets be real, you still need to study and do work and he will meet you half way)
already miss this teacher. really really good. def, def take him. by far one of the best A&P teachers
I can't say enough about Prof. Smith. Not only is he a great teacher, he's a great person. He relates very well to the students and is very clear and concise. His powerpoints nad website are great tools to study from. I HIGHLY recommend him. Easily my facorite professor

I thought Prof. Smith was hard until I took a different professor for BY32. He is a very fair professor and will help you whenever you ask for it. Compared to other professors, this guy is a god. Take him
I love this Professor! He is wonderful and he made learning fun. I took this class in the summer and it was extremely intense, but I learned so much. I will remember everything for life. Professor Smith is really bright, caring and funny too. He encourages you to use you mind and "do the math". He is extremely fair, but you have to work hard.
Anyone that says Smith is not amazing,is not a serious student.Goes at a fair pace, clear, asks Qs to make sure u know what?s going on.Tests are from his PPs(w/jokes)2 EC opps, drops lowest grade if you do better on final. If you put 100% in, will def pay off. He's smart, funny,& wants you to do well.Keeps u interested. If you don't take him you're crazy.
he is amazing just pay attention and study n ull do great
I am in his class now. He does not answer emails so forget asking him questions. He is seriously nasty when you ask him a question and thinks he is hot... well hes not. Dont take him take some1 else. For anatomy you need a helpful teacher hes way far from that. Why is every1 rating him so well? dumb people
Awesome Teacher
Excellent Professor! Would recommend him to anyone. Very helpful and funny. You'd be crazy not to take him. Will never forget what I learned in his class.
Nice guy,Seriously KNOWS his material. DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY TEST SUBJECT Material.THIS IS NOT A CLINICAL CLASS!!! Save the convolouted questions for students in programs. Arent we supposed to be learning form and function? Great prof but SHOULD NOT be allowed to write the exams!!!Sorry.
Extremely helpful and knowledgable. Goes the extra mile to make sure you understand material. Very accesible during lab. This professor wants you to do well...do the mental gymnastics. Funny, engaging, keeps you interested. Definitely take this professor for any BIO class you are considering.
CC premadonna! "Weeding the weak students out that are pursuing nursing program!" Not all students are nursing majors! However,he would be well suited to teach IN A NURSING PROGRAM! His knowledge of AP balances out his unprofessionalism.
Amazing professor, and the best you could ever take. Really wants to get you to know the material, and teaches it in a good way. Really funny, so you dont really feel bored or pressured in the class. Curves generously, study hard and pay attention and you can definitely get an A. Those criticizing him dont appreciate having a good funny teacher :)
This guy was AWESOME! I got a C+ which really is my fault because i could have studied a lot more. Hysterical, down to earth guy. Knows his material...downside is his tests really are extremely hard. Definitely too hard for a pre-requisite class, but awesome guy.
great A&P professor! he makes lots of jokes during class! his tests are hard, but he gives extra credit. you'll learn a lot from this professor!
not only was he the best science teacher, but the best overall teacher i have ever had. he takes a practical approach to teaching. he is a clinician. if you don't do well, you should find a different field. period. its not his fault.. its yours! he will help you in any way he can. u think A&P is tough? wait til micro. stop hating on him!!
if you have a bad thing to say about him.. your probably retarded and may wanna think about staying at mcdonalds. anatomy is the most important class in ANY medical field. THATS WHY ITS TOUGH!! you must have a strong base. he will do anything to make sure you understand the material if you meet him half way. GREAT GUY ALL AROUND!!!
Amazing and the best professor ive ever taken. makes the class fun and does his best to explain to you, answers any questions, gives extra credit, gives curves on exams, a great person, you wont regret taking him.
Prof Smith is excellent at teaching A&P. It's a tough course, you need to study, and do your part. He has an outstanding approach to make A&P understandable. He's fair, and brilliant. I highly recommend him.
HE is Awesome. I had him for 3 sems. of Anatomy courses &he makes learning memorable so you know it beyond the classroom & his funny anecdotes make class interesting. Esp if you're entering the health field, take him bc he does a lot of clinical referencing. If you want an EASY, LAZY A, don't take him, TAKE hiM if you REALLY WANT TO LEARN Anatomy!!
He is Awesome! Took him for 3 courses. He makes learning fun & memorable beyond the classroom. His clinical anectodes also make the lessons stick & he is funny! (which is good if you want to enter the health field eg MD, PT, Nursing, etc) If you want an EASY LAZY A, don't take him. TAKE HIM if you want to actually LEARN ANATOMY the RIGHT WAY!
This is a tough class pay attention to his notes do the extra credit and you will pass
good class. His tests are really hard, but if you study and do the extra credit you will do well.
Good Professor however you must be prepared to study and work hard! Nothing is hand fed... If you put in the effort you'll be fine. I worked extremely hard and got an A!
Professor Smith is an awesome professor. Hes highly intelligent and it shows during lecture. His tests are challenging and you must study! Anyone who bad mouths him probably just couldn't grasp the material. Do not take him if your a slacker and don't really care. He makes class interesting and fun. He's a great professor!
Excellent teacher, powerpoints give you all of the info you need to get an A in this class. Its a tough class but Prof Smith is very helpful and will take his time to make sure you undertand the material.
I only had Professor Smith for Lab, but I wish that he taught lecture for my class. He is so helpful, makes difficult topics easy to understand; plus he is hilarious. Out of the 4 science classes I have taken at Suffolk, he is one of the best professors I have ever had
THE BEST PROFESSOR A STUDENT CAN EVER ASK FOR! Very honest with his students. makes the class very interesting. Extremely helpful. you definitely have to work hard to gain an A. He does NOT give grades, YOU have to Earn it which is fair. I definitely recommend him.
Great Professor, Makes class interesting, have to work hard to earn your grade. Does offer extra credit to help. Dont take this class if you are looking for an easy A, You WILL have to earn it!!!
don't buy the text book. some of his test questions are tricky but just memorize all of his slides and your good. doesnt take attendance
He is a fantastic teacher! His tests are very tricky. you really do need to study and make a commitment to the class. He makes you work hard because he knows you'll learn from it and you will. if you put in the time and effort you can get an A. hes very funny, is very clear and gives extra credit. DO IT!all we do in class is on his website.GREAT!
BEST bio teacher ever! Deff take him he is very very helpful and fun too. Everyone learns w him unless you really dont care, but hes just the best gives extra credits his tests are hard but fair! Take him!!!!
Prof Smith's class is not easy! I does require a lot of studying because the material is hard, but he does offer to stay after lab class to help you. He also offers a lot of extra credit which will boost up your grade, as well as the lab. Defiantly not an easy A.
Best anatomy and phisiology teacher at suffolk! He is so caring and wants his students to do good! His tests weren't that hard. You need to study, but as long as you study the power points you'll be fine! He also offers a lot of extra credit if you want to boost your grade!
Professor Smith is honestly the best professor at SCCC. He's intelligent, informative, caring, and funny. He will take a boring class and make it very entertaining; takes tough material and makes it easy. BEST BEST BEST Professor around. After his class ends you will miss him. He's the type of guy you'll never forget throughout your college career.
Dr.Smith is easily the best professor I've had. He takes very difficult topics and makes them clear through clever analogies. Power points are available before lectures and he is always willing to explain something until you understand. His tests are very difficult so be prepared to put in the time. Definitely the most fuffiling A I´ve received
He is a great teacher!!! He explains everything so well, and makes it interesting. I enjoyed taking his class. Just study, pay attention, and try not to miss any classes.
Such a funny guy and amazing teacher!! Tests are tricky, but everything he goes over is on the test just take your time. You can tell he is super intelligent and loves his job. Hands down my favorite class ive taken so far
Peter Smith is a great professor. He tends to go off task a lot which can be funny but also frustrating. He is always available for questions outside of class time and he cares about his students. He made me work for my C+
be ready to study
Great professor lab days are long but he doesn't make them too bad
Such an inspirational professor and helped me so much. I definitely had to work for my A but it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend him
Best professor ever. Keeps the class engaged and definitely assist ylu if you ask for help. Makes you work for your A but its so worth it at the end.
Professor Smith is one of the best professors I've ever had. He makes class interesting by incorporating humor into his lectures. His tests are tricky (many questions have a choice of "all of the above, none of the above," etc.) but I learned so much from him. Definitely had to work for my A, but felt very proud to have earned it!
He's a funny man and very intelligent, however it's a sink or swim. Class is hard enough as it is, if you ask for help he tells you to look it up or ask a student when NO ONE UNDERSTANDS. Test are hard. He flys through lecture & expects you to be able to practically perform surgery after. Hours of extra credit for very little points. Tough grader.
Professor Smith was a tough teacher to have. Bio 132 is a hard class to take and I feel as though he made it harder. His tests have a lot of "a and b" or "all of the above" choices so make sure you know your material. He gives a lot of extra credit to help boost your grade up. There are only 4 (curved) tests in the class so STUDY.
I took prof Smith for both A&P 1 and 2 and although both offered extra credit I found the classes challenging. Reading essential, taking notes as well, and id also recommend recording the lectures. He gives practice exams but will not tell you if you got the q's right or wrong. Hes a smart guy and id def take him again but its def a serious class.
A&P 2 is a difficult course, but Prof. Smith made it much more enjoyable! He doesn't rush through lecture, he really knows and teaches the material well. 4 exams--not easy! Gives practice exams, won't give you answers to them... Only 2-4 pt "curve" on each exam. Does offer 4 -2 page ex. credit papers, 3 pts/each added to an exam. TAKE THIS PROF!
Amazing professor but his class is tough. He doesn't want you to just memorize the material, he wants you fully understand everything. He has all PP on his own website, I recommend using a recorder because he says a lot of very interesting and useful things that are not on the slides that can show up on tests and gives so much extra credit.
Do the practice tests on his website they help a lot. Over all easy class if you fully understanding what you are learning and not just memorizing. Memorizing won't work. Gives extra credit assignments
Professor Smith was definitely one of my favorite professors hands down. He has a great personality which makes the lectures and lab very interesting. Just be prepared to study a lot, A LOT . He gives a lot of extra credit on practicals and gives you till the last day to hand in extra credit. Everything is online on his website as well.
highly recommend this professor!!! make sure you read and understand the material. he has office hours which is very helpful. the material is tough but if you take the time to study you will pass his exams. grades are earned and extra credit is offered. awesome sense of humor.
Professor Smith is BY FAR the BEST PROFESSOR I ever had. His class is definitely tough, but very well worth it if you want to go into the medical field. I worked my ass off for an A... but it is by far the most rewarding feeling! I promise you will not regret taking him! He's an amazing and intelligent man who clearly knows his stuff! TAKE HIM
Made a quizlet using the lecture notes for each test, and made a quizlet using the lab book for each lab practical. With that being said, I only studied for about one to two days before each test and got an A in the class. If you study your class notes, you will do well.
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. He is a good guy but a horrible professor. He expects way to much from his students
Oh boy. This was rough. I am an A student and got a D+ in this class. I made study guides and made sure to write good notes. His voice is very boring during lecture and he is never there during the lab period.
4 exams, 2 lab exams, w/ extra credit! has practice exams on his website. has an awesome sense of humor but expectations for this class are too high. exams are really tough. his multiple exams have a & b, or all of the above answer choices. My highest exam grade was a 70 and I studied 6 hours for that. You will never work harder for a C grade.
Everyone hates on Professor Smith but to be honest, he was a genuinely good professor. I had AP2 with him as a Nursing major and he prepared me more-so than any other professor. He is VERY hard, don't get me wrong, but so is Nursing school. He understands that upper-tier medical classes are no joke and aren't free A's, so he really preps you for it
If you have any interest in the nursing program, take him. This class is very difficult and will require you to put in time to study. Memorization means nothing, you need to understand concepts. That said, this will prepare you for the extremely difficult med-surg classes that will have you wishing you were back in Professor Smith's class.
Great professor. Everything he does is help you understand better. He is also dedicates on the lab, with clear demonstration and explaination, you will learn all you need to know! Even I haven't finish this course yet, if I don't get a good grade, I won't blame on him. You gain what you deserve.
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR. HE CLEARLY UNDERSTANDS THE FUTURE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTIES AND HE PREPARES YOU FOR IT. HE ALSO CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AND IS ALWAYS READY TO HELP. IN THIS CLASS MORE YOU PUT IN MORE YOU WILL GET OUT OF IT. JUST MEMORY STUDY WONT DO. HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE AS A STUDENT YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS.
Great professor! Worked hard to get an A in this class but it was very rewarding. He preps you for any future health program. Gives you plenty of extra credit to help raise your grade. The tests are hard and make you really think, but if you study the material and understand concepts you will do well. He cares about his students!
Enjoyed going to his class and his lectures. He explains biology in a way students understand and not with the arrogance I've seen in other professors. He is non-judgmental, treats everyone fairly and can have a conversation about anything that may be brought up in class - on or off topic.
He is really a brilliant professor. He really knows his stuff, is kind and well respected. Extra credit is provided which slightly helps. Only issue is the test difficulty. You must understand and memorize his many slides for his test. I have a 4.0 gpa and this is the only class I have ever received a B+ in, although I studied more then ever
I had professor smith for Bio 132, his lectures were ok but exams were just enough to kill u, completely out of the blue. 75% of each test questions are confusing.
Professor Smith is by far one of the best/ funniest professor I've ever had, if your taking this course with anticipation of going into a future health care related field and actually want to learn the material, take him! His exams are difficult and you'll work very hard for your grade but it's worth it. He's THE man!
I have taken BIO 130 and BIO 132 with Professor Smith and he is by far the best teacher. If memorizing information is your style, you wont do well. To do well on his tests you really need to understand the information. He wants to create amazing future practitioners. He offers a lot of extra credit, so do it. Overall, theres no better.
Funny and great professor. His lecture exams are very hard if you do not understand the information but his lab exams are very straight forward. Doing extra credit is a must! His extra credit brought my grade up from a B to an A.
Dont take him if You want to get A. His exams are ridiculous difficult when he doesnt teach you at that level.
Prof. Smith is amazing. One of the best teachers I've ever had. He makes you work for it but if you're going for Nursing, he's doing you a favor. Do extra credits early, posters for body systems are key to passing exams. Know how/why body systems work. Keep textbooks/notes if Nursing major. "If the answer isn't obvious you're not done studying."
I took A+P II over the summer with professor Smith. An excellent teacher. VERY hard class. But being in a nursing program at another school now, i realize it was very beneficial to have taken him. He teaches you a lot, but omg those tests are hard. Have never worked so hard in a class in my life, but getting a B has never been so rewarding.
One of the best professors that I have ever had! This course is tough, but he really prepares you for graduate programs such as PA, PT, nursing, etc and cares. He is able to relate the material to help you understand it better. His tests are very difficult. You have to understand the "why", not just memorize information. Do the extra credit!
Great professor, really knows how to teach. His tests are hard but he give a lot of extra credit, so it makes up for it. If you're moving on to nursing programs or PA programs, take class with him. He only teaches what he genuinely believes you will need to know.
Great professor took him for kinesiology and learned so much info that Ill be taking to my graduate program. 3 exams and a presentation, and lab 2 exams. He also gives extra credit. Definitely one of the best teachers Ive had.
An amazing professor! He is a teacher who will make you work for the grade. Dont take class if you wont put the work in which is A LOT. You need to understand the why to everything. lab exams are very straightforward but his lecture exams something you really need to overprepare. DO CASE STUDIES EARLY & EXTRA CREDIT!!! Will help when u have tests
Prof smith is an amazing educator. He really shoes passion in his career b/c its shows through his teaching . I really worked hard and put a lot effort. If you do so, you will receive the grade you worked for. Nothing is handed to you and prof smith makes it clear about his expectations. Kinesiology is hard but he makes it bearable & interesting
Thinks youre in med school. majority of my class struggled to pass tests, he words them so it confuses you. Practice exams are misleading. case studies which are over 50 pages of work are only worth a single point on your midterm, and final. I had to take a w after being in the class all semester so I woulnt get a failing letter grade.
Dr. Smith is one of the best professors I've ever had. He teaches you what you really need to know going into the medical field. People who aren't serious about the course or bettering themselves get weaned out quickly. THIS CLASS IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT! Be prepared to put in a lot of time if you want a good grade
His reviews on here are misleading and I am almost certain he has written some of them himself, there is very little extra credit (and has nothing to do with the course itself) his exams are worded in such a confusing way that it is nearly impossible to do well on them and his lectures don't coincide well with the exams. Half the students failed.
Dont take him. He acts like youre already in a medical program and focuses way too much on diagnosing and disease identification than actually teaching what hes testing his students on. If less time was spent on the difficult and time consuming case studies, more time could be spent on learning and studying the real AP2 material,Take anyone else
I was nervous to take his class after reading other reviews but I'm about halfway through the semester now and I'm genuinely really glad I took him. He makes you work for your grade, it's not an easy class, he also offers a 21 point extra credit on the first exam (YOU NEED TO DO IT). He's a very funny guy and is well preparing us for the future.
Kinesiology is a tough class, but Professor Smith breaks it down in a way that makes it much easier to understand. He offers opportunities for extra credit (though not directly related to the course, the topics are helpful), and grades on a curve when needed. Study, take good notes, do the work. and keep up with it if you're online!
Best Professor Ive had at Suffolk. Made Ap2 and Kinesiology very interesting throughout the 2 semesters I had him.
Best professor Ive ever had, by far. He is thorough, patient, hilarious, down to earth, and really cares about all of his students getting the whole picture. He is NOT easy, you will have to earn your grade, but if you want to do well in healthcare this is the guy you want to have teaching you. I wish I was able to take more classes with him.
Amazing Professor. Although his work is hard, It sure did pay off. He empathizes the name of the muscles, actions and bones. I still remember everything he taught after taking his class two years ago! Definitely helped when I transferred.
Doesn't post a course schedule. Flings exams on you 2 weeks before and tells you to complete a ton of extra credit assignments within that time before the exam.
He is one of the best professors but this was the hardest class I've ever taken. He wants you to see the whole body picture and how everything works together. You will be entertained until test day. Those tests were harder than the ones I take in the nursing program at Suffolk. He really prepares you for the medical field.
if youre looking for an easy A this is not the class for you Professor Smith lectures very heavy, wants to prepare you for the medical field (maybe a little too much) he means well overall but his class you will have to study for basically everyday so make sure you are dedicated Nothing in his class comes easy even his extra credit took weeks to do
Smith is one of the best profs ive ever had. If heavy workload, difficult tests arent your thing i dont recommend. He says from day one what to expect so dont underestimate it. He really does show your what the medical field will look like. Overall, he prepares you, gives real life examples, sarcastic but funny and answers all questions.
Phenomenal instructor. Dr. Smith is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and truly prepares you well. Those who complain about the rigor of this course do not belong in the medical field. Here's how to win the game; watch the lectures, take good notes, and rewatch all lectures before the exam. Bonus trip to the cadaver lab. Thank you Dr. Smith!
Prof. Smith is hilarious and even at 8 in the morning he's up and cracking jokes. He teaches very well and helps you understand things so easily, but this class is tough and if you're ready to read and study a few hours a day then this is class is good for you. Anatomy is difficult, but I feel like he made it more difficult then it needs to be.
He is very straightforward about what is expected of you. Listen to recorded lectures before class and take notes on them. Also, take notes during lectures. He gives a huge extra credit assignment but it's not easy and you will have to work on it during the "honeymoon period". Attendance isn't mandatory for lectures but it is for lab.
he is anamazing professor.
Goes beyond what is expected of a professor to help a student understand the materiel
Having Professor Smith for Anatomy and Physiology is very demanding but believe me it pays off. Anything you learn in healthcare after this class will be 100x easier. Also he's got a really good sense of humor and really into the far-side galleries which personally for me is a big plus
Amazing professor!!! Very knowledgeable, has a unique approach to students and makes A&P II easier to understand and memorize.
Truly one of the best professors. Knows how to keep classes attention and doesn't make lecture painfully boring. Stay on course with his posted slides ; literally a life saver. Great charisma, however still isn't an easy course. Study for class at least 12 hrs a week.
Lot of information to learn for AP. He does break it up, make it more manageable and reasonably paced. Wish the labs would sync better with the lectures. He offer lots of "gravy" for extra credit. He wants students to do well, offer office hours, extra help and guidance. Highly recommend even with the corny jokes, definitely need to work hard.
Professor Smith's Anatomy & Physiology class is not for the faint of heart, but the knowledge gained is invaluable. His lectures are engaging, and unstuck study proved a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook. Earn your grade, but you'll be prepared for the medical field.
Professor Smith is AMAZING. He is very easy to understand, very direct. If you don't understand something or have a question about something, he explains it to you VERY well and I absolutely love that he relates lectures to other things like the outside world (you remember things easier this way). He had extra gravy questions to get points on tests
Really a great professor who cares about your grade as much as you do. His lectures are great, he offers review sheets for both practicals and exams, and explains everything very clearly. The class is difficult but as long as you pay attention and put in effort you will do great. Overall, he is a great professor. 100% recommend
Dr. Smith was one of the best professors I've had in college yet!!! I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures and labs… Bio 132 is a tough class but he made it achievable to get a passing grade and enjoy your time there. He doesn't just read stuff off a board which is so nice and makes your time there well worth it.
Professor Smith is wonderful. He cares about his students. He is very straightforward. One word I will use to help you succeed in this class is STUDY! Only at home assignments are your pre-labs due at the beginning of each lab, so that leaves you with all the time to STUDY! This is my second time taking it and I am going for an A. Put in the work:)
