i like stathus despite all the other comments that were based on his teaching methods. Stathus is random he likes telling jokes and making comments about his life but it makes calc interesting. he takes time to get to kno a student better & its important.

This guy passed me even though I didn't really do all that well on any of his tests. All he cares about is that you go and you try, he will pass you. just try a little. By the way, I did no homework

This guy is awesome!! I dont know wat u guys are talking about...okey he is a bit boring but he is very nice and he is very knowledgable and helpful, although his test are a hard and LONG...however......I think he is really good!!

He's a really really nice guy, very funny, and I enjoyed the class. Watch out for those pop homework quizes!

I had him several years ago before I transferred. I was terrified of Math. I found him to be a very competent teacher, and a cool person. I think I got a C. Thanks to him I just finished Calc2. He had a really positive impact on me. I'm premed. I just took the MCAT and started my med school apps. THANKS Mr. Stathis!!

he is a nice and funny guy, his curve is great, but its a very hard class...alot of info to take in, overall, i'd reccomend

Mr. Stathis is awesome! The class was really fun. He made stat's easy for me, and I really hate math! Mr. Stathis is funny too... It is my favorite class this semester.

Great teacher. Curves test big time, drops one low test, get extra hw points for test. You really have to study for an A. Statistics itself is a class you have to study for but Mr. Stathis does a great job making it a little easier. But on his test, it's partly calculation, and it's partly explaination, you really have to know wat's going on

Extremely helpful, easy going, interesting. Curves all tests, including final. Homework every class, pop quizes (based on hw problems), 6 tests and a fnl. Fnl is worth 1/3 of overall grade. Tests consist of calculations and explainations/argument. You really need to know the material in order to do well. Hate math/stat, but this IS the guy to take

He is a REALLY nice person, kind, friendly, and interesting. but, when it comes to teaching his lectures are not very clear so u have to read the book and all. his tests are pretty hard too. its hard work but its not impossible to get a good grade.

Took him for a summer Calc II class, very hard but explained thoroughly, if you don't get the grade you want, you can only blame yourself. He tells you what is going to be on the test and your only job is to study.

You really have to know the material and what is going on. Lessons are disorganized and explanations are unclear, but he really tries to help if you ask. Pay attention and do the homework well! The test and quizzes are very similar to the hw! Huge test curves really help boost your grade up!

Mr. Stathis is the best math teacher. he is extremely helpful and flexible when it comes to grading. just read the book and do the hw. the tests are similar to the hw questions. he is really nice and tries to help his students pass the curse as much as he can. i really dont like math but mr stathis made this course easy for me

i took a class of his during the winter and being in his class for 4 hrs, he grows on u.attendance is important.his class isn't an easy A. u do need to put the effort into it.quizes are based on hw so do the hw! tests are harder questions but he curves.and he has pretty lame jokes but hes a good guy & wants to help u if he sees that ur trying hard

best professor for calculus. i had him for 103 and 104. highly recommended for people who want to learn and are ready for hard work. i miss his class a lot!

He is perhaps one of the strangest math prof. in GCC. He is the nicest person ever and at the same time he's like the hardest. It really doesn't add up. Unlike many other teachers, at least he has the decency to show his tests from previous semesters a day prior to a class test. Other than his difficult tests, he is a really nice guy. P.S. udv!!!!!

He's a really patient person when it comes to questions, especially to those who have english as a 2nd language. His jokes are like really nerdy, but it grows on you from time to time... And to the comments about his class being difficult, NO DUHHH! It's calculus, its suppose to be hard. If you think he's hard to cope with, you should see Saber. XD

Great teacher, tests are hard but offers alot of help and advices with test prep. Fast moving class like all math classes, make sure you do hw daily gives extra credit

He's really nice and has patients with his students. The only thing wrong is how he sets up his tests. They're so messed up, it's almost irrelevent to the homework he assigns. It's like he's cheating you out of your efforts and knowlege for his own satisfaction. But other than that, he is a good professor.

One chapter test for every two chapters completed. Make sure you do the daily homework because there is "random" quizzies (he tells you the day before to expect a quiz). Haha He says the word "interesting" about 10x a class. & gets off task to tell nerdy jokes ALL the time. Overall class is TOO fast pace, but go to office hours he really helps.

This man is an amazing professor and human. He loves teaching Calculus and is extremely good at it. I've learned more from having him 2 semesters in a row than I have in all my other math classes combined. He changed my whole perspective. He's not very easy, but just ask questions and study hard, he's very willing to help!

Mr. Stathis is one of the most amazing math teachers I've ever had! He is so helpful and very enthusiastic about what he's teaching. Nobody likes math or thinks math is that easy. You have to work at it. Mr. Stathis is definitely the guy to help you through it!

I notice alot of people complain about Mr Stathis, but ive had him for two class's now. He deffinantly wants to see his students do well and he always curves the tests. The tests can be hard but he always gives study guides Mr. Stathis also expresses a genuine intrest in the subject which helps.A pretty good and if nothing else a funny and nice guy

Honestly the best math professor ive had so far in gcc. I took him for summer and i loved it. I would take any other class he teaches any day. He helps you when you need it, explains everything well, and makes students feel like a family!

TAKE HIM FOR MATH 101!! He emphasizes small details (that other profs are too lazy to do) and sums everything up nicely. He has a quirky sense of humor, philosophizes quite often during class, and is very understanding. Sure he puts a couple tricky problems on the tests for the sake of encouraging critical thinking, BUT IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! A+++

Had him for summer, hes a very nice guy and clearly explains everything but makes them way more complex then they should be on the test. Tests are difficult but I enjoyed his class.

I love Professor Stathis! He is an awesome teacher and I would recommend him. He is helpful, he goes over everything clearly. Each test is less than 9 questions so all you have to do really is study. He did not use the book but lectured from OLI online which made everything easier.

Nice teacher, he knows what he is doing! He makes his students think outside the box. Challenging class but possible. Definitely take him if you like challenges.

I highly recommend this professor. he explains the material very well. every test is curve and his tests are exactly as his study guides so if you do the study guide you'll be fine in the tests

OF COURSE IT IS DIFFICULT! This is not High-School, people! professors are not supposed to spoon-feed you the information! you have to study yourselves too (In case u didn't know that!) This teacher is GREAT! And the practice tests are very very very very very useful!!!!!! Just do the homework and you'll be fine!

The tests were difficult but they were at university level--which they should be because it's an honors class. Also, most students inherently lack the ability to learn calculus no matter how much they study, so they shouldn't blame professors.

He is very nice professor, he know very deeply about the subject. the problem is he doesn't teach very well , can't grab student attention that mach unless the nerd one , I recommend you to take him but depend on youtube lecturing ,don't read the book it is the most confusing book ever(Boyce Differential equations),

He is awesome! He understands that stats can be hard to understand, so he curves AND adds HW points on all the tests. He gives A LOT of HW but it helps your grade a lot and great practice! He explains the material well and he's very nice. I never thought I would ever succeed in this class, so I suggest to take him if you struggle with math :)

Stathis is a dope teacher. Fair grader. Moving on, he is very clear on every topic. I took his winter session for 104. There is a lot of material to cover, and his organization helps. You will need to use Webassign in his class. There are 5 test, in which you can drop one. He really cares for his students, so if you ever need help, let him know.

He's a great teacher and will be determined to help. He cracks jokes every now and then and it's funny. He's really but statistics is a bit complicated but he will make sure you understand. Test are curved and one is dropped which is great. Take him he's good

Precalc is 6 units so get ready to put in a lot of work. Showing up to class is probably the most important part and taking good notes. Five tests and a final, one test is dropped. Before each test there is a practice test which is fairly similar to the actual test. Overall, professor Stathis is hilarious and grades fairly.

Don't take him if you're not a science major and won't be taking a lot of math classes! Although he grades hard and the class was fairly fast paced (there was little time for review/extra examples, etc.) He does a great job of explaining concepts and makes you understand what/why you are learning and how the material will be used in future classes.

He is extremely nice and caring. Not the greatest lectures but he is very intelligent an understanding so if you end up having a problem, he will help and extend due dates. the tests are a little hard if you dont prepare for them but its doable

He is the best math professor I had! He is so passionate about the subject, that you start to love it too. His tests are easy, if you study for them, he curves them. Also, he gives extra credit on the tests. He also changes the deadline for homework, if you haven't finished. He is really funny, and really cares about his students.

I genuinely enjoyed Professor Stathis's class. Not the best lecturer, but its good enough where you can understand it with some effort. He gives study guides before every exam, and usually curves. Homework is based on the online web assign program. I suggest having sample problems ready and seeing if you can solve problems with what he lectures.

Stathis is the best stats professor you could ask for! He' s so supportive and helpful and always wants you to succeed. He really cares about his students and dedicates all the time he has to help you understand the material. He's really funny and very nice. His tests and homework is online and is very fair, not too easy and not too hard. Take him!

Really nice guy! His lectures are so hard to pay attention because they are pretty boring. And even if you did listen to the lectures, they don't really help much. But as long as you do all the homework and understand it you should be fine. Most of his tests use the homework problems as model questions. Plus, he curves, which really helps out.

I took professor Stathis for statistics and the class was very smooth! He curves all of the tests and adds a lot of extra points if you complete the homework. The homework is online and could get heavy but if you complete it then he adds those extra points to the tests! There is also one extra project that is easy. Highly recommend him.

The Professor is very kind and helpful, he is a good teacher and explains the material well. There are a lot of tests and statistics is already very hard. If you're not good at math I would suggest taking MATH136+ if that option is available.

The class itself isn't easy, so don't expect to miss lectures and easily catch up. But his lectures are very clear. He makes even the most boring topics sound so interesting and engaging, it is clear how much he loves his subject! Truly the best math professor I have ever had. He also gives extra credit for the more advanced HW he assigns.

I just took Professor Stathis & Newberry for Stats136B and they're amazing. Professor Stathis is clear and knows his math. Everything he says makes sense and he never really is confused. If you listen to what he says, you'll pass with an A. Exams are what he taught. Also offers extra credit to people who participate and get things right. Just great

Stathis is probably the most caring professor in GCC. He curves the tests and homework. Each test comes with an extra credit paper. His lectures are quite boring yet informative. If you pay attention and do all of his homework, you will get an A for sure. Everything (tests, hw, final) are done through MyLab. Overall, I recommend this professor.

Very funny guy, explains things very clearly (which is helpful for a difficult subject like stats). Tests make up a very large part of your grade, but tests are nearly identical to the homework, so it's in your best interest to do the homework, its good practice!
