He is one of the best professors I have ever taken. He knows the material well, his teaching is very clear, and he is always helpful and funny. He gives a test every 3 chapters and a quiz at the end of each chapter. He moves quickly, but if you pay attention in class then the tests and quizzes are easy. Definitely take him if possible.

The easiest Gen Chem teacher at Creighton. 10 pt quizzes after each chapter that you barely need to study for. No homework grades but problem sets help when studying. Tests are fairly easy because he gives you all the formulas you need for all tests and the final. He has a good sense of humor which makes class less boring. Take him!

Lab was good with Stone. He has weekly quizzes before you get into the lab to make sure you're prepared. The labs aren't too difficult and he's willing to help if there are problems or the TA's can't help you. Grading is hard on some things but that's the nature of chem lab at Creighton. I would recommend him as a lab instructor.

Such a great teacher. You learn a lot, he helps whenever you need help, and makes sure to answer any questions to leave no doubts. However he does move very quickly in class and doesn't give much time to let students grasp subjects. Weekly quizzes that are sometimes confusing, and Lab quizzes that can be quite difficult. Class is a challenge. TAKE!

Professor Stone is a really solid professor for gen chem I and gen chem II. The ALEKS homework can sometimes be tedious, but it helps boost your grade. It's really important to do the practice problems in the textbook that he suggests as they're similar to test questions.

TAKE PROFESSOR STONE!!! He gives clear and organized lectures, is extremely helpful and understanding, and you'll actually learn from him. TIPS: notes from his TA are posted online by the end of the day if you can't make it to class, and homework is all online (completion grade) - it easily boosts your grade! Take Prof. Stone! You won't regret it.

I took Prof Stone for both Gen Chem 1 & 2. He made the class go by fast with his sense of humor and clear lectures. He will give your class obvious signs when a specific piece of info or a practice problem is important for an exam, and even goes over each exam and asks his classes how he can improve the next test after each one is graded. Take him!

Arguably best prof in terms of covering content, as a result also the hardest. 4 unit tests and 1 final w/ 20% of each unit test from homework. You will need to invest serious time and effort in order to pass. Told intro chem class he purposefully grades chem 1 severely to "weed out the weak". Take that as a challenge - or a warning

The last review was wrong. He didn't say that 203 was hard in order to "weed out the weak", he said he makes much greater demands of 203 students in order to prepare them from future coursework, expect 203 to be harder than 105. His lectures are thorough & he makes it absolutely clear what content will be on the exams, but the exams are TOUGH!!!

Professor Stone was awesome. He has a dry sense of humor that was enjoyable but also clearly cares about the students. All of the grade basically is tied into your exams, since the homework is counted as points on your exam. The program for homework can be tough (Aleks) and time consuming.

Dr. Stone is a good person and is pretty entertaining but he took over our class from another chem prof and went too in detail about stuff we didn't need to know for nursing chemistry. His tests are incredibly difficult and he only uses the chalkboard so don't expect to look at a PowerPoint. I'm sure he's better when teaching his own class though.

There's ALEKS homework that is due two or three times a week, it doesn't prepare you for the exams, but do the book problems that he recommends. Although students like him, Professor Stone, can be passive-aggressive, I don't recommend emailing him.
