I am writing this before I get the mark for my first exam to be fair. His lectures are interesting, but exams are not easy. Make sure to write down EVERYTHING discussed in class. He gives you the topics for exams, but go over everything.
fun class , interesting discussions , not too dificult, nice professor, my only complaint is that he tries to impose his ideas on you, he only presents his side (one side) of an arguement and makes it sound like its the fact- never argue with him
Frequent disputes with the textbook. Defines terms in his own words, but tests based on text definitions.

ATTENTION, ATTENTION! DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET A LOW GRADE THAT YOU DON'T DESERVE IT. HIS EXAMS ARE NOT BASED ON THE CHAPTERS AND HE LECTURES IN A WAY THAT YOU WILL BE CONFUSED IN TERMS OF WHAT TO STUDY.
i thought his tests were fairly easy most people in my class got a's , interesting class, i just didnt like how he presented his opinion as a fact, he was very onesided and didnt really let you disagree with him (if you wanted a good grade)
He makes you study, and sometimes it seems hard, but you come out knowing the subject.
Very hard class. A lot of material to cover. His tests are horribly hard as well. Maybe he is different for other courses but do not take Personality with him.
Dr. Weston is a genuine person who will teach with heart. He expects you to know the material so well as to be able to apply( not just memorizing). In short , if you want to learn and be challenge , take him .If you want an easy A , turn the other way.I think that he s has a lot to offer.Your choice
Boring,takes a great suand makes it dry, not up to date, uses his own definitions, says he grades on a curve but if anyone took a microscope to his method it would not be curving, it would be a popularity contest. Very tough exams. When you complain, he tells the class that "this isn't middle school". A's are probable impossible to obtain. He knows his material thoroughly and expects you do too.
He sets his exam questions to make the students think. It's very hard to get an A but not impossible. He wont spoon feed you, however, he makes himself available to his students. He knows his material and is a very good educator. If you want to work hard take him.
Pro. Weston is so helpful and his term paper is really good because you learn about yourself while you write it,trust me. His tests are a bit challenging but DO HIS REVIEW SHEET AND YOU WILL PASS. He's the most helpful psy pro I've encountered at BC.
His exams are challenging, but not impossible to do well if you read the material and attend class. Must know the material and apply the concepts to the exam questions, not a memorization exam. He knows his stuff, and is very fair if you make the effort. Interesting class, but no easy A here.

HARD TESTS
BORING LECTURES, TRICKY TESTS, NOT HELPFUL NOR UP TO DATE, CAN'T HANDLE ANY QUESTIONS, HAS NOT DONE ANY REAL WORK IN HIS FIELD SINCE THE 80'S- CHECK OUT HIS WEBSITE. HOW THE HELL DID THIS GUY GET A PHD?? AVOID IF POSSIBLE. HE MAKES UP IN HARD TEST QUESTIONS WHAT HE LACKS INTELLECTUALLY!
He is going to challenge you to learn and apply the material. His lectures are clear and fun. There is a joy he demonstrates in his teaching. He's does not ask for much just a few exams and exercises on the material that are done in the class. His exams are not easy, too tricky and not enough time is given so it can be fustrating.
He's a good professor, but I'm not saying that you'll get a good grade in his class. You'll have to read the textbook a lot and study even more. His tests are extremely hard and you'll have to take good notes too, because it will help you on the tests just a little. He's very nice, but don't try cheating in his class, because you will get caught.
Honestly, this has to be one the worst professors in the psychology department. He makes an easy class extremely difficult. His tests are out of control. Can't even understand the questions. He is a phony. You may think hes a nice professor until you get your grade.
Prof. Weston is a very nice person, but to warn you, take another professor for personality 30.2 His classes are very interesting, he's a good lecturer, and he teaches you about yourself with the homework. BUT! His tests are ridiculous, and he could never explain his grades. He does have favorites,though. I love him but enter at your own risk.

Interesting class, excellent lectures. BUT horrible testing procedures. He is a very unfair individual, and quite biased to foreign born speakers. If you need a grade, stay away. He couldn't explain his grade. Quizzes were every 2nd class. He crafts 3 questions out one paragraph. Amazing for a ph teacher to not see his own faults.
Definitely not an easy class. Pay very close attention to what he says (word for word)- you will be tested on it for sure. Also, pay close attention to his handouts - he will test you on those. If you don't have the time to thoroughly read the text, at least skim through it and you should do fine. Definitely not an easy A to achieve.
I've never been so uncomfortable in a class before.The subject matter is a little touchy, but something about the tone of this class is strange. The tests are also fairly difficult and things need to be memorized word for word. I did not enjoy this class at all.
YES the lectures are long, YES the exams are not easy, but I recommend this intro class if ur a psy major who wants to actually LEARN something. His exams are designed the way it is to force u to really study, understand and apply the material. The questions are not difficult if you understand the material. You get the grade u deserve in his class!
I did three classes with this professor.For all the cry babies-this is not a class for you.I got A's in every class that I did with him.It took hard,HARD work but I persisted&I KEPT AN OPEN MIND.His standards are reasonable but for those whose standards are low-it will seem astronomically high.Loved this professor-I feel like I really learned w/him
This is the best psychology class taught by the best professor in the entire school. Its not easy, you definitely have to read, take notes, and make sure you have a good grasp on the material. Its highly sensitive subject matter so you have to keep an OPEN MIND!! It's not an easy "A" but IT IS ATTAINABLE!
He is just into himself... I like to word hard for my classes but if your only taking him and dedicating the semester to him then you will be fine... The book is of some use but he wants you to learn what he says verbatim...
NO WAY! BORING...HARD TESTING
RACE&PREJ is a touchy subject but overall I think he gets you thinking and involved in class discussion. Sometimes he has this my way or no way at all thing going on but he allows discussions and sometimes tries to see it from our point of view. We had 2tests, a 8page paper and a final. The second test and the final exam are two weeks apart???
He is an amazing prof. who knows his stuff, CARES about the students understanding the material and knowing how to apply it, rather than memorize for tests. HE IS EASY IF YOU FOLLOW IN CLASS AND READ THE BOOK. There's no excuse not to get at least a B+ in his class. Some students are just LAZY. Pay attention, read, study and you'll get an A.
He's a very good professor. I learned A LOT about prejudice! I was a little intimidated taking him based off past ratings here but I'm happy I took him anyway. He cares for his students unlike a lot of professors I've had! Shows a lot of videos which can get boring but the discussion after is always good. Take him. Not EASY but he's good.
He is a WONDERFUL professor. He knows how to teach and how to make the material understandable. I learned a lot. He is also super helpful outside of class. You must study though for his tests. If you study hard, you will do well. If you don't study, you won't. I completely recommend him.
Greatest professor ever!!! understanding, kind,intelligent,open to students comments and ideas. i wish all professors were more like him. 2 tests one final and a paper about your own prejudice. the topics in class are touchy but he gets you thinking. i recommend everyone take this class, it should be a mandatory core class!

Dr. Weston is a superb professor he is the the type of professor that will stay behind to help you. His test are not easy he makes it so that you will think just take notes. You really coming out of his class knowing a couple of things I know I did. To this day I am able to remember all the things he taught me.
He was extremely difficult. I would study constantly and still didn't succeed like i did in my other classes. His tests consist of HIS DIRECT QUOTES from class lectures. He will quote himself on the exam and leave out missing parts of his quote for you to fill in. Impossible.
He isn't a hard professor at all. If you actually listen and want to learn you'll do fine. He's always there to help if you don't understand something. I received an A. Just listen, pay very close attention to what he says, and take notes. This isn't a class that you can just look over the notes the night before the test and pass.Over all fun class
Weston's exams are tough and unclear at times. Basically, He makes them difficult to understand. He writes his own questions for the exams. He does things in class very late. For instance, you may not know how you're doing in the course until the last day when you get your grade for it. Avoid this professor if you want things done on time.
Although his exams are a bit difficult, I would definitely recommend taking Weston. His knowledge of psych is superb, and he has a great teaching style. He's funny too!
Horrible horrible horrible ! I can't say it enough 3 tests 3 weeks in a row not 1 grade given between exams very unorganized ignorant and extremely rude I rather burn myself than take him just horrible
Worst professor I ever had, he likes to hear himself talk and pat himself on the back rather than teach.
He contradict himself. He would refer to different textbooks. He can be helpful. But, overall his class is very boring, he has a very difficult style of teaching and if you miss a day you are missing everything. It's very hard to pass his class although you take the notes. As I said a lot of things that are stated conflicts with one another.
A wonderful prof the most helpful & clear I've had. Engages every student, uses practicality to make it interesting, ALWAYS responds to email, answers all questions(even the obvi). If you participate and STUDY you will do well if not you will most def fail. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO READ A TEXTBOOK DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Reading is a must! ? him
Very nice professor, but will often go off topic. Take notes, and study from textbook and notes. His tests are hard, but in the end if you do okay (80s 90s) on the tests and you show him that you care, you'll get an A.
A very nice professor but very confusing and boring lectures - disorganized and he often repeats himself. His tests are also tricky but at least they only count for about half the grade. Be sure to record his lessons - I started doing this halfway through and it saved my grade.
His lectures aren't always crystal clear. He gives 3 tests all based on the textbook (which you can find for free in pdf online if you just take the time to google it). Read the book. Go over the review sheets he gives out. DO the practice questions. Do that and you'll be fine.
First off, he's very nice and can be interesting at times. The problem is that exams are based off of lectures, which sometimes contradicts the book, so notes are VERY important. Plus, he always goes off topic so note taking is so difficult. Plus he doesn't answer emails! And at times it was so important for me to reach him and I couldn't.

Let me start out by saying Professor Weston is a great person. However, I do not find his method of teaching effective. I did not feel like I learned anything and was disappointed. However, I read the reviews and still took his course. I have no one to blame but myself. I suggest not taking any of his classes.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER TAKEN IN MY COLLEGE YEARS! PLEASE AVOID IF YOU CAN Everything he speaks about in class is on the test. If you miss a class, youre fresh out of luck. If your answers on the test isn't word for word from what he said in lecture, you are marked wrong. No PACIAL CREDIT One 8 page paper, that you dont receive back
Fist off he is a very nice person but his teaching criteria is horrible. No extra credit and his favorite letter grade is D+. His exams are very confusing and if your answer is not word for word with his definition its mark as wrong. Don't even take him if its your last choice.
I took this professor in Undergrad and it was the BEST experience ever. He pushes you outside of your comfort zones and forces you to really think about what you see around you. It is not for the lazy or for those who do not wish to wake up and evaluate their lives. Excellent professor! Take him!
This is an awesome professor. If you want to truly learn then he is the person. He challenges the memory and is willing to fully explain the material if one person doesn't understand. It's not a free ride after all this is college. Once you listen and take notes, no text is required. Took him for 3 classes and intend to again. He is the real deal
Lectures are all over.
exams are based off of lectures, often contradicts the book. Often goes off topic and not cohesive. Crazy hard classes and so unclear. Doesn't answer emails. Takes forever to return assignments. Doesn't care if students flunk. Is nice guy but not a good teacher.
I blame myself for signing up for this class. He is just way too all over the place and confusing. His tests are all over. His style is confusing.
This class was soooooooooooooooooooooooo stressful for me. Do yourself a favor and take it with someone else
Such a hard hard hard hard hard hard class
This professor is very challenging. Voice recordings are a must when taking this professor. He is clearly very knowledgeable about the topics that he lectures on, but in terms of teaching style, he is not the most organized and opts to be an orator rather than use an accompanying powerpoint slide. You will have to work for an A (extremely hard).
He is a really nice professor which is the most important to me, especially in a city with so many nasty people, but the academics are unreasonable. Tests are full of trick questions, almost all based off of verbal lecture material with no powerpoints to reference. He does sometimes give reveiw handouts though. Took 3 months to return exam 1.
He's extremely funny in class, BUT get ready to be lost during lectures. He's goes off topic, his exams are H E A V Y. Be prepared to be lost throughout the semester and curious about where you stand grade wise. He never gives his exams back and if you're trying to reach him out of class via email, good luck because he never responds.
Hes a nice guy and Im sure a great Psychologist, but his teaching techniques arent the greatest. Hes all over the place, gives back test exams late and some of his exam questions arent in the book, but in his lectures, so you HAVE to take notes.
I HATED this class. He never returns or reviews exams. His notes contradict the book and you never know what to use on the exams. Most of the class gets B's and C's. I had to RECORD and TRANSCRIBE his classes to get my A. He is flying. Never responds to emails. Teaching style is unclear. He was my worst professor at Brooklyn College.
HATED this class is not a strong enough word. Passionate and nice professor and person who has class favorites, unfair exams that condtradict the text, does not return tests, does not provide good feedback, does not respond to emails, and even 4.0 GPA students will struggle to understand what is in his brain that he wants.
completely in person class (during Covid) which doesnt make sense if class is being canceled. First time, he was late to class and emailed an explanation an hour or so later. Second time, emails us 5 minutes before class has started saying its canceled with no explanation. Felt like he was wasting my time so I dropped the class.

great professor, people just don't like his grading policy He is VERY specific with the type of answers he requires on tests. Like verbatim definitions. TAKE GOOD NOTES 2 do well he gives u all u need 2 pass. Literally be a copy machine and you will have no problem Lectures r interesting & engaging, he knows his stuff. Not online savy. Show up!
The professor will give you a good grade if you literally show up, do everything he expects of you, and take notes. Literally write everything he says during his lectures because they come up in his exams. Once you do that, you should be good because his exams are easy if you study your notes, read the text book to get a deeper understanding.
Professor has high expectations of students and wants the responses on the test to be quoted his exact words. He has a traditional style of teaching. Overall, he just wants his students to succeed.
GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!! just do it u must take notes and show up or u will fail so if that's not u don't do it. he really wants students to do well so def work with him and be open. overall a goodish class but def manageable and he is easygoing and chill w dates. literally extends every deadline and exam.
Professor Weston is definitely nice. but the way he grades needs to be reevaluated. there is no blackboard available for the class. Most of the grade come from the tests. You might know the material and still struggle with the test. It is very specific. Very interesting class but honestly your gpa may be ruined because of these factors.
If you don't show up to every class, you probably wont pass. He doesnt have a blackboard so everything you learn is through his lectures where most of the time he rambles. He gave tests basically every other week but they were easy if you took notes and studied. He also does not reply to emails often. Take any other professor if available.

i hate this class, he wasn't tech savvy and made conversations difficult. Literally could've participated for the greek wars but he banned it.
The professor really wants you to succeed he gives you some good chances to get a high grade which is cool but the problem I have is that his lectures are very hard to keep up with sometimes. I wish that he has the information that he is talking about on slides so that we can write down some information. Make sure to record his lectures
This professor was neglectful of his students. He never responded to any of my emails and failed to properly communicate with me. He also has poor lecturing skills and it was very difficult to understand him as he rambled through the session. In conclusion, choose a more effective professor for this course
He wants you to write exactly what he says during lecture in the exams. Yes you have a textbook but he wants you to go based of HIS words. Exam questions are confusing. No reason why an elective should so over complicated.
Weston isn't bad, I think a lot of students don't like him because he rants. Instead of giving you solid definitions, he gives you a sort of equation by examples of how this thing is used. Ladies don't be nice at all really just be very straightforward because he can be... too nice (I'm sure it's not malicious but yea). Go to office hours though :)
