he's pretty cool
easy going, but forces you to do homework for every class
course was alot of work, but is very helpful if you ask him
a teacher you will learn something from
After graduating, I must say he was one the best teachers I had at Ryerson
worst teacher I have ever encountered, rude, missed 6 classes during semester
Worst teacher I have ever had. Looks pregnant, don't learn anything.
If u want to do good, LEARN TO THINK AND WORK!! very knowledgeable and clear
not bad guy, funny, but not an effective teacher.
Loved this guy! **** ya!
Missing in action alot. Likes to say ****. Okay teacher...when he was there.
Never concerned about students; bad, bad, bad!
Approachable. Does give homework but a funny guy. Swears alot but it's alright
Fast paced, humerous, ends early. Lots of homework!
Funny, ends early, no exam, logical
swears like a sailor @ 9am! funny! Questions? Just ask he'll help!
my favorite prof. very funny... at the same time very smart and straightforward.
Great funny guy, swears too much, but still great guy
Great professor, shows how theory works in the real world
Proves that knowledge and success doesn't doesn't have to equate to suits and corporate bullsh*t. Champions always go against the grade
great guy... really knows his stuff... You can learn a lot from him.
Might not be the easiest teacher in the world, however he's the best teacher at Ryerson, and is very helpful when you need help and very clear in what he wants. It's an honour to have him as a teacher
No midterms, NO finals, 2 assignments and 1 group proj. Just be prepared to do 2 chapters of questions each class.
Wicked. Swears the same way I do. Keeners don't get any respect from this guy. Do the work and stop showing off, and you'll enjoy his classes.
What youll go in the class with is what you will get out. Its an operations management course more than a B2B MARKETING!! Malkes u work over the text and does not test 1 single thing!!! Poor marker in cases.
The class is not extremely difficult but it is A LOT of work. Be prepared to do 2 chapters a week of questions, 2 major cases and 3 problem sets. Is not a worthwhile couse unless you want to improve your case analysis! Whats B2B anyway? =)
This guy is hilarious and know his stuff too. Fair marker, no final exam and one assignment for the year. I'd recommend his class to anybody
highly recommended. no exams and only 2 cases and 3 problem sets. marks ok and fair. fun and inspiring lectures. show up every class and you'll be fine.
The mouth on this guy will leave you in stitches. no final exam, an open book test and a 25% participation mark
He's a very likeable person but he makes you answer chapter questions and participate in class. The problem sets are easy, cases are a little harder. He tells the same stories over and over again but you can tell he enjoys it.
This was a great class. No tests or exams. Problem sets and case studies were challenging, but work with a group and you should have no problem. Stay after class and ask him for help...he'll give enough information on the cases for you to get an 'A'.
his classes were fun as hell, easy to skip too if all you are worried about is missing test material, cuz theres no test!
great guy....really funny...swears all kinds. best bet...find some friends to share the chapter questions with...make less work for yourself. there are no tests....oh and he loves numbers...include them in your case study and back up your results...youll get a good mark!!
this guy is top drawer! one of the best that Ryerson has to offer, he tells you how it is.
He rocks! Take all of his courses. Makes you do some work every week, but it's worth it. Teaches the truth! Come to every class - you won't miss out! There's hardly a wrong answer to the cases - just be insightful and creative - we all have it, and he makes you believe it!
FATSOOOO! he's funny and cute, getting marks in his class in not the easiest but possible. but HE SIMPLY DOES NOT TEACH.
He has his own way of teaching, just adapt to it quickly and you'll do fine. Class work includes doing chapter questions every week, and there's mandatory attendance. dont bs him and you're fine. very nice guy, who wants you to succeed.
He's the cream of the crop. One of the best at ryerson. Always lets you out early and no tests.
He is a great teacher. If your work is practical and makes sense, he appreciates that and gives you a fair mark. Honestly one of the greatest profs I have ever had!
Awesome guy, one of the best at Ryerson. swears in class like a hobo. Do some preliminary work on the cases and he'll fill in the details. He'll give you his home number but DONT CALL DURING A LEAFS GAME....I learned that one the hard way :p
His classes were best....I had him for 3 different classes in the span of 2 years. He is awesome in terms of professor, joker (very funny) and as a human.
Intelligent guy, funny as hell, and truly cares about his students. Understands that although we don't mind learning in the process, we go to school to get good grades so we can get a good job. Ask him for help with the cases and you'll do really well.
Very funny guy! Will keep you awake in class with his jokes and loudy hardy laugh. Lots of questions from the text book that you have to answer for participation marks. Always available for help when needed. Great guy!
Peter definately made the course worth while. The material was a little dry in some spots, but the way he made you think about things from outside our usual view really helped make this course a lot better. Definately should be one of the marketing courses you take at Ryerson. Cases are a little hard, but hes always ready to help. Great Class.
If you cant get a good mark in this class then you got issues. No tests, just assignments and participation. Nice guy, nice marker !
Peter Wilson is a very, very easy prof. No tests, just cases and participation is what he marks on. Heck, he uses the same cases year after year, so if you got a friend who did his class before, get him/her to hook you up.
Great prof - very helpful - ask questions on cases and he will give you very good hints as to what he is expecting. A big joker - always makes you laugh during lectures.
Funny guy. His lectures can be quite entertaining at times. No tests/exams in the course, but rather two major cases, one project, and participation. Make sure you ask him questions regarding the cases--it'll help ensure that you're on the right track.
This guy posts his own comment!!! Easy Class, but he looks like a Retarded Version of Santa Clause! All his classes are a joke, 5+ years old, all the questions/cases are already circulating. This course makes Marketing Students look Bad. For the sake of our Degree, he should be fired. Otherwise seriously put into check! Ryerson needs to consid
Great Prof! Extremely easy marker however, I think he is too easy. This is not a challenging course at all. 2 cases and a final project is all that is required, participation can be earned by sharing the weekly questions with classmates and reciting them when called upon. No need to spend the hours doing them yourself.
Basically I agree with the last 10 comments. He is funny, seems like a great guy, and keeps everyone entertained. But to use the same questions for 6 sections is a joke. There is at least 8 kids in my class with the exact same answer sheet, I agree it makes marketing students look like a joke. At least it isn't memorizing theory for an exam=JOKE!
This guy is great. he knows his stuff and he has a dry sense of hummer. i would go to class just to joke with him. I would take another class of his just because he teaches it. if you can;t laugh about your self then do not take his class, you will get mad fast.
He doesnt take attendance but he does take your picture, memorize your name, and call on you randomly--keeping track of everytime you're there to answer. Odd sense of humour, and a little loud and scary, but still a fairly easy class.
GREAT PROF...would take any of his other classes in a heart beat. Teaching methods are unorthodox, there are no exams but 25% of your mark is based on participation. Keep up with all reading and do questions given in class and you'll be fine.
Very eccentric prof. The problem sets/cases aren't easy - its reminds me of the finance PSs but with mkting problems. Make sure to get help & guidance on the cases - he gave me lots of tips. Attend classes, do the weekly questions in groups & answer when he calls on you in class. Listen to him. Its a fun class - just don't piss him off. Good prof.
Wilson is the best! i love going to class because hes so funny and actually has so much great knowledge to share. The problem sets were so hard (in my opinion), and so were the cases. MAJOR TIP: ASK HIM FOR HELP. it really helps, and when he's helping you he basically tells you what hes looking for.
I found the class so hard! cases would have been impossible if not for having a good work partner. He gives you chap. questions and calls you randomly for participation marks. no exams/midterms. I dont find him to be funny but almost offensive, he swears the most out of all my profs i have had. Course is a lot of work, not a bird course!!
By far the most useless prof i have ever had, all he does is hand out chap questions at the start of the year and then goes through them, classes are about an 1hr and you dont learn anything about launching a new product. yet the cases and final project are HARD and he gives no guideline, Avoid this joker at all costs. this class ruined my GPA.
Honestly, no idea why people have rated him so high =S I did not like him that much, acts kind of offensive. Case studies are hard! You need a good partner and notes from someone who previously took it. Alot of homework questions per week. Good luck if you take him!
Honestly, it is quite easy to get an A in his class given you put in the effort. My marks significantly went up after I asked him for help on an assignment. If your class has an attendance mark that is worthwhile then show up to class! Overall, I enjoyed this class.
I took this course because I was interested in Employment Law. I was at every class. I am an A grade student. This professor is not clear at all about what he wants from students. The midterms are awful. For the assignment we were provided with a case and it was not clear at all. Take his course, if you are looking to decrease your GPA.
Modest man who explains concepts clearly and will help anyone who comes to office hours. The real problem is that his voice is low and class is overall boring(no one really pays attention). Midterms are tricky(even though its open book-its still hard!)and the exam was written by everyone (which made it a lot easier!) - I do not really recommend him
He's not that bad, just he's a bit quiet when teaching in class so it tends to make you fall asleep. His midterms were a bit tricky, even though it was open book. The exam was MUCH more easier. I stopped going to class after the first midterm and I did much better than going to class. I guess he's an okay prof but choose another prof if you can.
I see alot of mkt ppl so im not sure if i have the rite guy. but the one i refer to is a good teacher, its not his fault the material isnt very exciting. very clear and makes great slides.
his class is extremely boring i watched movies most the time but attnedence is mandatory. mostly because the examples he goes on and on about in class are the exact same you will find on midterms, he mainly looks for keywords while marking. exam was extra easy, all open book.nvr read the book only used index for exams.
maybe taking it in chang school made it different, but EXTREMELY boring. i stopped going just before the midterm, got a B in the end.
He is a good professor, but a difficult marker.
Great Professor. Very clear and knowledgeable. A bit hard at marking but if you go to class and participate you will have all the resources you need to succeed.. Goodluck!
I love this professor. I would take more law classes if he was still going to teach. I am so sad he has to retire because he has turned 65. All of the tests and midterms were completely open book, but still challenging (i a good way!). He explained things really well and gave great examples to make things more clear.
Good Prof. Exams are exactly like the fact scenarios provided in class. No text book and his slides are very detailed. Only wish is that he would put slides up before lecture not after. Other than that he is a very laid-back prof.
Amazing teacher, he helped you with the course and he was very clear
I've had almost every law professor at Rye and Peter Wilson is my favourite. He is not the easiest marker, but he is knowledgeable about the content and willing to dicuss problems with students. Extremely hard working prof that gets midterms/exams marked witnin a week (& considering the midterms/exams are all written, is incredibly fast imo).
Really good guy, and excellent prof! Go to his lectures, participate in the cases and you are guaranteed an easy A! His exams are cases based on the ones done in class, and if you write what he says you will breeze through. Very easy to understand. I strongly recommend him.
Very nice professor. Attend his classes, read the textbook and do the cases he provide. On the exams, you must elaborate on your answers and use legal terms. A lot of marks were taken off because he expects well put together answers. Not hard to attain an A in this class if you understand the material.
open book midterms and exam. seemed nice but not. hard marker, just doesnt seem to care. Have now lost interest in law. thanks.
very monotone speaker during his lectures, his powerpoint presentations are very long but you should pay attention, tests and exams are open book and the cases on the test are very similar to those mentioned in class so make sure you pay attention and take good notes on them
Decent professor, course is not that hard if you study... but he's a very hard marker so you might be surprised what you get on your exams when you think you did well.
Great Professor! Attend class, take notes and you will do great. Some of his questions are tricky but pay attention to how he answers cases in class and you will do fine.
Awesome prof and awesome course! I learned a lot from him! This law class was very organized and the material was very interesting. Finished with a 94%. Study, go to class, and explain your answers WELL on the exams and you can do very well too!
He is very knowledgeable in the content. His midterms are very similar to the examples given in class so no surprises. Very good powerpoint slides, don't need to use textbook often if you're in his class (unless you are going to look at a case in the book). Go to his office hours to discuss your test if you think you deserve more marks.
Professor Wilson knows his way around the law, he knows it like the back of his hand. His lectures are very informative and pretty much all you need. Tests and final are pretty much laid out, no surprises and reflect the fact scenarios and cases in the book. Always on track and very organized, would recommend for any law majors.
I took this course with him in summer school. Good prof, his lecture is interesting and his power point is very useful and detail. Midterm and final are on things he mentioned in the lectures. A very organize prof.
Good prof but I don't find the course material very interesting. The midterms and final is fair. The two take home assignments are OK. I didn't do so good on the first one. I spent a bit more time on the second one and did OK. I like the prof but not a fan of this course.
Had him for 122 and 529 and am taking LAW603 next sem just because he is teaching it. His information is always clear, he is great about posting to D2L, responds quickly to emails and will help if needed. Exams and assigns are straight forward, no surprises. All you need to do is know what he provides/have accurate notes for exams and its an easy A
He's a great professor, lectures are interesting and engaging, and the material is definitely straight forward, but his tests are quite difficult. He really makes you work for your grades. No textbook for the course, just some statutes you can read online. Would take the professor again, just not for this course.
Awesome Professor . Had him for LAW529, and LAW 603. Go to class , take notes and go over his power point slides. There are no surprises on his midterms they are very similar to the examples he takes up in class . Make use of going to his office hours, he's actually very helpful and wants his students to do good .
Overall, Peter is a very good professor. If you attend his lectures and pay attention you will have no problems learning the material. Tests are pretty straight forward and similar to the Fact Scenarios he takes up in class. He's very approachable and is always available for help as he has extensive office hours during the week. 100% recommend him.
Very detailed PowerPoint slides, I used them alone for the tests and exam and did very well, he provides fact scenarios which are similar to what you'll see on the tests. Lectures are kind of boring but I'd still recommend him and I'd strongly recommend reading the textbook for this course
His lectures and slides are very detailed, and the examples really help you practice your reasoning. His slides are good enough for the exam that I barely used my textbook. He marks the exams and assignments quick (especially for a huge class), and he updates marks regularly, so you really know where you're at well before the final.
Come to class. Wilson is an amazing lecturer, answers all questions, explains things clearly, makes sure students understand. I did no use the textbook, although i would still recommend buying it. Exams are based on the material, take-home assignments are interesting. If you listen in class and understand the concepts, you will do well.
Amazing Prof, will definitely be taking more LAW courses with him! clear grader, the lectures are clear and concise, if you skip a few classes it won't be a big deal but not too many especially the harder topics.
Great Prof, clearly explains what he wants if you ask
Pretty cool professor! He's not a tough grader but expects clear cut answers and more on the assignments and exams. Overall he is nice and attentive and is willing to put in the extra effort to help you understand the course.
Peter is an amazing Professor who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about law. His lecture slides are clear and easy to follow. Assignments given are all based on material presented in class. If you show up to his lectures and listen in class you are guaranteed an 80+! One of Ryerson's best professors!
Maybe I had my hopes too high for Peter Wilson, having read other reviews on him, but I found him to be mediocre at best. His grading criteria is vague and he gives marks based purely on the volume of information you can spit out. There was a question on the final that was not something we spoke about in class. He grades with too much variance.
Great professor, he knows his stuff. Talk to him, know what he is looking for, he is always willing to help. He does expect lots of information because he wants you to look at cases from all angles.
most disrespectful professor i have ever encountered in my 3 years.
Peter is a great lecturer if you sit in the front so that you can hear him. Can drag a little long and boring though. Although you don't NEED to go to class, i recommend it because the cases on the midterms are very similar to the ones discussed in class. I used his slides for the open book. Beware the final, though, it is a common exam.
Not approachable. Intimidating. Condescending. Hard-marker. Avoid this prof if you can...
You can tell he's very educated but because of it he doesn't make anything interesting, mostly just reads off the slides. He also cares about participation and would take attendance at the start of every class. Also for the ethics projects he marks really hard and the word count really matters for him.
Fantastic prof. Gets you looking at cases from many points of view. Knows his stuff, and is happy to answer questions.
What a very very understanding and kind professor. Just study his slides and you will get a B-. Go to class to do better and attend his office hours to review your exam if you want an A.
Peter is the most unapproachable professor I have encountered in my four years. His lectures are extremely painful to attend, and although his tests are easy he marks extremely hard. He also marks unfair based on how much he likes you, so if you're not participating in the lectures don't expect anything over a C. Avoid at all costs.
be sure to read the facts. go to his office hours. put exact cases and sections on exam.
I am really surprised at the other reviews - I got an easy A+. I went to EVERY class which was worth it - he had PPTslides and class always ended an hour or so early. What we discussed in class was what was on the midterm/exam. Similar case studies we reviewed we even utilized so go to class . PPT slides seemed more important than text.
Peter Wilson is awesome. Very fast marker, updates slides well before class, lots of office hours, available to help students, very approachable, very organized and funny. He always finishes class an hour early as well as gives a generous break. Would love to take him again.
Passioante about Law but his marking is very tough overall.
marks harshly Idk what he wants sometime dont take him if you want a good mark
Peter is a good prof. His tests are fair as well. His lectures can be a bit boring but they were beneficial to go to.
Fairly easy law course. He has all the essential notes in his slides which saves you a lot of time, and you can study off the slides. His exams questions are very easy. However, he is a hard marker when it comes to the exam because he looks for specific answers and explanations to get full marks. Very approachable & answers fast to emails.
Strange professor. Has very thorough and detailed slides but simply reads of them and goes through cases, does not do much teaching of his own. Knowledgeable but can be condescending when responding to questions. Takes attendance at the start of every class and although he won't admit it, he notices when you don't show up and marks you far harder.
Read the book & you'll be fine. Go to lectures and listen to his examples, almost the exact same scenarios will appear on the tests. He is one of the only profs as well to give 2 midterms instead of one, take advantage of that! You don't want a 65% final. Prepare to read, any law class will require heavy reading. Do this and you'll get an A- or up!
Picky marker. You must make sure you clearly state a specific term that he is looking for in order to get full marks. The content itself is not hard. One of the better business law professors. Just make sure you pay attention to every detail he mentions.
I have taken LAW 321 and LAW 529 with Prof Wilson. Come to his lectures and make notes on his slides, highlight important concepts, but do not forget to mention the correct legal test then analyze the fact scenario at hand. Go to see your midterm and he will be happy to explain any misunderstandings & add marks if he was wrong.
Professor Wilson was a decent prof. His lectures were very boring and dry, mainly due to the content of the course itself. Take notes during the lectures and make sure you review the fact scenarios as the exams are based purely on it. He is a very picky marker and sometimes it's not clear what he wants in the responses. Not an easy A!
Probably my least favorite professor I have ever taken any class with. Caring individual but marks the exams unnecessarily hard. Also, not very accessible. Went to his office to review my exam and he didn't show up, even though he sent an email claiming he'd be there. Makes a VERY easy class difficult to attain a good grade. Not recommended.
By far the best law prof! Grading criteria and expectations are straightforward so follow what he says. Textbook is useful but professor Wilson covers the necessary topics in class.
Professor Wilson is one of the best law professors. He takes attendance to learn student's names in all his classes, which is not for marks. He is very accommodating and willing to help.
Peter is one of the best professors that I have ever had at Ryerson. He is caring, respectful and so helpful when you attend his office hours or exam review periods. He is also straight-forward, to the point and extremely knowledgeable. I encourage any students interested in law or the field of law to take all possible courses with him.
loved this prof, made the course content very clear. There is no textbook for this course, the slides are good, but going to lectures makes it a lot easier for you on the tests. Tests are extremely fair questions, based off the examples he discusses in class, and he really makes you learn and think bc he makes you consider both sides in a case
I had LAW 321 with him prior to LAW 604. His lectures seem dry but that is because 'the law' is dry, and even if he reads off the slides it's because he prepared the best slides and they are self explanatory. Just pay attention and you will ace it. He is picky about his answers because the answers are obvious. The most fair professor you could get.
So I did better in LAW534, the hardest law class at Ryerson. Peter is not clear on what he's looking for in terms of answers. Avoid at all costs
Hes a nice person, very respectful, approachable and clear while teaching. The course structure of a 45% midterm and 55% final is somewhat intimidating considering hes a hard marker. Exams are long answer and hes very picky and looks for key words in answers. Overall not a bad class, just dont think an open book exam is going to be that easy.
Professor Wilson is the most caring professor at Ryerson. Not only does he want his students to succeed, he offers great advice and help if you're pursuing post-graduate studies. His lectures are to the point, he basically makes notes for the students on his slides, and the tests are fair. Make sure you study and are ready to apply your knowledge.
I asked him for meeting to review my midterm 1 as i got 75% and wanted to improve, but he said he was busy TWICE and legit next week came to class to talk about the midterm to everyone. That day i was gonna see him to review my midterm and he said i diDnT bRiNg yOuR miDtERm. I get good grades overall but this guy sucks so trust me and dont take him
Professor Wilson is one of the best law professors at Ryerson. Wilson is very knowledgeable, caring, and wants to see his students succeed. His power point slides are informative and helpful in understanding the textbook. Wilson is a fair maker and very helpful during his office hours and exam review days.
One of the most stubborn teachers, if you dont go to class he specifically will mark you harder, that is why he takes attendance. Even if your answers are right or close to being right, if you miss class he will just give that answer in a text/exam a 0. He uses his attendance heavily to mark who he thinks should get a good mark
Prof. Wilson was a great lecturer. If you read the textbook beforehand, attend his class, participate and listen to the way he discusses concepts, you'll do great. Make sure you write fast in the midterm and exam. He asks questions in class to challenge you so listen carefully.
Amazing prof, very caring, is here to help he responds to emails almost immediately. If law 122 is a required course take it with Wilson. He is very knowledgeable and attempts to keep the class engaged. Show up to class since he takes attendance. He is a fair marker.
His lectures are somewhat dry. He looks for very specific things. I wont say attendance is mandatory.
Professor Wilson is very knowledgable when it comes to law. LAW122 is a required course for my major, but I'm glad I had the chance to be in his class. His midterm was very easy, & the final was online due to COVID-19 but it was very fair. He made an effort to do online zoom classes & engaged with the class the whole semester. Very respected!
Professor Wilson truly cares about his students. He goes through great examples in class, and is always available to answer question. He also adjusted perfectly to an online method of teaching Midway.
He's okay but for the most part, he just reads off the slides. His tests are straight forward but I found him to be a hard marker. He expects very detailed answers and takes marks off if you include non-essential information.
He did not grade the midterms and finals fairly I knew his course content by heart yet hed give partial marks for whatever reason I normally got high grades in law courses at Ryerson but this class was an exception because of his confusing marking style Hes a nice guy but as a professor I would avoid him at all costs
Don't take his class. Boring and a waste of time
Save yourself.... Law is a trash course plus this prof makes it even worse. Boring, hella hard marker, just no.
To be honest, I have no clue why this professor has a rating of 3.8 right now, and all of my current classmates agree. His lectures are 3hrs long, and let me just say I stopped going after the first 2 weeks. Most boring lecture I've ever had in my life. Monotonous voice, he NEVER looks at the Zoom chat, and is quite rude when you ask him questions.
Decent professor although lectures can be a bit boring at times. Love that he gives you all the information you need in the slides. Bit of a tough grader though
He marks very hard and if you ask him a question he does not give a proper answer back.
He makes the course sooo boring and dry. Doesn't really help out his students. He looks for very specific yet concise and brief answers. Having to write brief answers does make the course a bit easier i guess. 45% midterm and 55% exam.
Great prof , very straight forward marking . Just following the presentation slides
Professor Wilson should do a much better job of telling students what he expects in an answer. Before the test he'll mention a couple of vague things but during the test review he'll talk about very specific details he expected in the answer. Very confusing, avoid him if you can. I only ever get A+ or A in law courses but in his class I got a B+.
Great professor! Very fair marker, pay attention and make sure you understand the concepts and you will do well!
not sure why prof wilson has such bad ratings. he's a nice guy and a good prof. he explains the material well and his slides have all the info you need. you do have to study hard if you want good grades on the two midterms and final but it's definitely possible. the fact scenarios he provides are also very helpful when studying for the tests.
Great professor! Thought this class would be worse. He explains the material clearly and includes powerpoint with all the information you need. The scenario questions he hands out are very helpful for the both the midterms and exam. Textbook isnt necessary, however if you want a deeper understanding of the material you might want to get it.
This guy man, doesn't explain anything properly, flies through his super complicated fact scenarios that are highly sophisticated. His exams are super weird, as he asks questions that are not covered in class, and overall he just complicates everything. I've taken enough law courses, way harder than this course, but cuz of Peter, this was the worst
He is probably one of those profs that I'd never want to take the course again. First of all, he had the worse mic I have ever heard of and he was extremely difficult to understand. He literally reads off slides with his boring monotone voice and complicated fact scenarios. Just beware if you see this guy's name on the course selection
There are only two ways you can get ur grades: the midterm and final. Peter wasn't terrible he knows his stuf and he has amazing slides. I went to his in-person class and it wasn't terrible but he does not know how to use a mic. All I can say is make notes early on, review the slides before each test and don't skip class cuz his examples help a lot
Uncaring, unaccommodating, arrogant and should retire immediately
Very judgmental guy, doesnt make you feel welcome in his class, not open to anything. Just frowns and read off his slides in a monotone way the entire class. Poor mic quality too thats been pointed out but he wont do anything about it
He's def a lot better in person than online. Has very detailed slides that are also all you need for his exams. 2 midterms and finals all of which are straightforward and open book. No textbook needed. Just make sure you attend class so you understand the material he's teaching and you'll be guaranteed an A.
He marks really hard and subtracts a lot of marks. His lectures are utterly boring and you can barley hear him.
Not an accommodating professor that wants to see you succeed. Very monotone and gives vague answers such as 'everything' when you ask what will be on tests. He seems to be doing it to make ends meet since he's said he's too old to be a lawyer now. Take a different prof who can explain better!
He is an okay prof overall. His lectures are quite boring and he talks very quietly so if you actually want to hear him sit near the front. The course content itself is not that engaging but he did his best to make the class okay. The course evaluations are only based on the midterm and final exam which is something I would be aware of.
This prof is not good at his job. Does not have clear grading criteria, and despite providing sufficient information in your answers, he will deduct marks for not clear reason. He is by far one of the worse law professors at Ryerson.
Seems like a sweet guy but lectures are very boring and you can barely hear him. You're better off learning from the textbook. The key to succeeding in this course is making good notes early on and do NOT cram the material last minute. He didn't post final exam marks which keep us in suspense during the winter break. Try and get a better prof.
He marked very harshly on the midterm and did not give us an opportunity to see our tests. Tests are open book and has questions on material in the textbook that was not covered in class. Put sticky notes on every section and subsection of each chapter to be able to find the right info during the exams and make sure to include the specific terms.
Simply reads the book. Mumbles his words. Does not answer questions clearly, if he does, he answers with an air of disgust. His answers are unclear-an obvious strategy to make room for his own uncertainties. You are wasting your tuition fees on this guy. Gives low low grades, which is surprising because he is such a bad teacher to give low grades.
marks are only based off 45% midterm and 55% final exam. midterm was easy if you studied and did the review test because it was the same questions. its hard to hear him and takes 30 mins to do attendance every class even though there are no marks for attendance. if you do his reviews and make notes based off his slides you will do good.
Professor Wilson is a very tough grader. I took his class because its an easy course. But I got my worst grade among all my other law classes with him. I got A+ in Law 525 and Law 534 but for this class I got B-. I don't know what he expects us to write on the exams other than the material he taught, but apparently nothing is enough for him.
Do not take him if you are planning to pass the first time. He is the toughest grader I have ever seen. He is so boring and can not hear him whatsoever. Do not take him.
Lectures are heavy and grading can be hard if you don't write down and review his cases in class. Make sure to be caught up with lecture notes and attend every class. If you understand his practice examples and cases you will do good.Practice midterm definitely helped for the real midterm. He can teach, he doesn't read off slides.
Don't ever take a course with him. Worst prof in TRSM and TMU that has ever existed.
Lectures can be dry, but staying engaged and using resources like the textbook and Unstuck AI for practice really helps. Attendance is mandatory, and the grading is heavily exam-based, so don't slack on studying the material.
Even with everyone being as silent as possible, I could not hear a thing the guy said.Takes 20 minutes for attendance every class, so if you want to appeal your grade you should prob attend bc he takes that into account, but attendance is not graded! I stopped coming after 2 lectures and self-taught myself through the slides and textbook.
He is a great professor! Make sure you mention all the relevant material to the topic of the question on the tests. He is very monotone and the 8am lecture did not do him justice. However, he teaches the material well and very clearly.
While he was very quiet and hard to hear during classes, I feel that his class was honestly super easy. The textbook is useless-don't get it. All you will need is in his slides. Easy marker as well.
No offence to this professor, but after the first week I already regret picking his class. It's hard to stay awake, not because I'm tired, but because his lectures are boring and filled with unnecessary talk. Calling everyone's name for attendance takes too long and feels unnecessary, however he seems nice. Also, I can barely hear him talk!
He's a great professor. If you follow the slides, attend lectures, and practice the textbook cases he assigns, you will do well in the course. He explains concepts clearly and makes class engaging. He's also super nice and genuinely caring, and he replies to emails quickly, which really helps throughout the semester.
Great professor overall. He sets clear expectations and gives you everything you need to succeed as long as you keep up with the material. Lectures are helpful and often enjoyable, and he does a good job breaking down cases and legal concepts. He's approachable and very supportive.
Review - Peter Wilson is a decent professor who does his best to teach hard lecture materials. His midterms and final exam aren't that challenging, but require adequate studying and preparation. Although he is a fast marker, he is a tough grader and does not really provide sufficient feedback. Overall, a decent professor.
excellent professor!!!!!! so wonderful and caring
Super funny and makes everything easy to understand with his in class lectures. If you attend the lectures and put in the work, you will do good.
best prof and funniest
The key to succeeding in this course is being able to answer scenario based questions where you apply a certain legal principle. Easy tests. READ THE TEXTBOOK IT WAS WAY BETTER THAN THE SLIDES. Peter is a great guy. Good prof too but he speaks a bit quietly so he could be a bit hard to understand. Attendance is taken but doesnt matter
