Prof. Hosea is very cool... Unlike most other professor's, she actually has a sense of humor. She comes off as a dork but in a cute way. I recommend her shes a good math teacher. Small hw loads and she gives notes... :)

Very nice teacher. She makes the class fun and she helps you out as much as she can. She has cute jokes but you gotta go along with them, lol..just do the hw and attend class, you will pass! Pretty easy tests and easy final. Recommended :)

Really cool teacher, she tries hard to get her students involved and although she is not funny, we laugh at her and she is cool about it. Pretty easy class just make sure you do the homework and show up for tutoring if you need extra help. I didn't do too well on tests and if i didn't miss as much hw I would have gotten an A.

highly recommended! sweet, friendly, approachable, and more than willing to help. notes for every section taught (so helpful!). Good amount of HW but it all shows up on the quizzes & final. great class i'd take her again in a heartbeat

OMG this is the best MATH teacher I have ever taken!! Explains everything ...super cool young funny!! Lots of class activities having to do with food but never off subject...YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS CLASS IF U SUCK AT MATH...I WISH I COULD TAKE HER NEXT SEMESTER :o(

I can say that this is the first math teacher that has actually "taught" me math. extremely helpful. Showing up to class is a must bcuz she hands out all ur notes. This teacher is super young (I thought she was a sutudent) lol shes is hip , and her jokes are so dorky but so funny..this class is not boring at all lots of group work I LOVED IT!!!!

Take Gray Long's Math96 strategies class, WOW did it help me! I earned an A in math50! Set up study groups and make friends! THANK YOU PHEBE! AWESOME TEACHER!

i just finished my winter o9 semester . if taking her in winter or summer it will go very fast , she cover 1-2 chapters a day. i had her 7:30 to 10:10 . almost 4 hours . although the class was long it was fun . i recommend taking her for summer or winter . their will be alot of homework but you learn alot

Awsome teacher. She gives you the notes, all you have to do is follow along with the pratice problems. Fast teaching style, you can get lost easy, but only if you don't speak up and ask questions when your lost. I was FULLY prepared for math 51.

Phebe is a great teacher. She is nice, funny, and just all around cute. A little intimidating at first but she will warm up to the class eventually. I would recommend her to anyone who struggles in math and needs a good teacher.

She is a REALLY good math professor! VERY HELPFUL! She prints out notes for her classes. She makes math approachable and comfortable to work with! She has a corky sense of humor, but its soo adorable. Highly recomend! math can be fun w/ Professor Phebe!

She is very helpful, really funny and really nice. Shes passionate in her teaching and really wants you to get it. she comes up with fun ways to try to make us understand it. however if you do not pay attention and understand the material you are screwed on the test. By the way she makes the test so fun with silly questions and extra credit.

Teaches really well, everything is very comprehensible. Gives packets for notes and u just fill in with work and answer. Gives reviews sheets and everything but overall a hard teacher. Tests are VERY HARD, if you don't study for them you will not do well at all. gives 8 quizzes per semester but 1/2 of them are given at full credit.

I will definitely miss the view in her class, she is a looker! Barely passed the class, but I didn't make time to study as much as this class merited. Phebe provides handouts of each section with examples that we complete in class. My one gripe would be the amount of HW. All I can say is TMARC, TMARC, TMARC.

phoebe moves fast! if your not good at math and take her class make sure you keep up with your homework and get extra help! This class overall is not easy no matter who you take it with but pheobe make herself available during office hours if you needs help. she's funny and easy going and makes math fun!

Phebe is a great and enthusiastic professor, and that enthusiasm goes a long way. She made the material interesting and fun, and she explains things as clearly as possible. She does rush through some things, but I think this will improve with experience.

Definitely a hard class to take. She's a funny and cool professor though. Pay a lot of attention in class, go to the TMARC, and do all the homework and you'll probably got a decent grade. I got an A but I have no clue how tha happened ... guess I just worked hard enough. And math isn't that bad for me.

NO! Take her. She is extremely helpful and clear, if you do bad in the class and slack off, that's mainly your own fault. Do the hw and understand, rather than memorize the formulas, concepts, etc. and you have potential in doing well. She also has a forgiveness policy is which thankfully raised my grade drastically. Straight, to the point, and very helpful. She contributes a very good portion of time explaining and it is up to the class and the individual to ask her the questions. she distracts the class with humor, because math is not a easy subject for most persons so she has a method to the madness. real chill and laid back, cell uses = baked goods

She's very funny and helpful. The class moves super fast, so that makes it more difficult, but if you study hard you'll pass. She has a forgiveness policy and even lowered the overall score so more people would pass the quizzes and tests! She's super nice, and has many catchphrases used to help remember formulas. Star for you!

She was the best math teacher I ever had in that she really cared if you got a concept or not. And even though she's fast it's because she's genuinely excited about math and wants you to be too. Just tell her to slow down and she will. Very approachable and a lovely person.

Phoebe's exams are difficult, but she does lots of quizzes and homework to prepare you. She's very fair, offers e/c questions on her tests. Used MyMathLab and handouts which helped ALOT. She's funny too during lectures, not boring at all. I passed and I suck at math, so I recommend her if you want a good teacher.

I took her class and it is intense. She gives alot of work and quizes and her tests are not easy. I dropped in the end but she is one of the most HELPFUL professors I have ever met. I met with her ever office hour and she would find other ways to help you understand the concept. Definitely not a class you can procrastinate in.

She is a very good teacher. She looks for ways to make math understandable, takes snacks to class, makes jokes and offers a safe learning environment. She does give a lot of work but its in your favor, do the hw and attend every quiz and the exams wont be hard. She makes math enjoyable if you hate it.

I really enjoyed this class and it was really because of professor Hosea! She is really nice and helpful with all the material. The lectures are important because she teaches everything she expects you to know for the exams. The quizzes are also on the lectures/homework so as long as you attend and do your work, you will do great!

although Phebe makes math fun and her lectures are clear, she gives really complicated math problems on her review sheet and worksheet. I am struggling in her class because of it. She is really helpful during office hours but her class is one of the hardest math classes i've taken. Don't take her if you want an easy A.

Her exams are a lil bit long but if you study hard, you will Ace it, she gives a lot of bonus points. Make sure your phone is on silent during class, otherwise you have to bring food or dance math's song! :)

This teacher is down to earth! She is interesting, and values teaching. If you are ok at math and are willing to do the work than take her, if not then don't bother. She actually teaches and their is no easy A. She does give students incentives though and it makes you want to learn more. Overall She is a Good teacher.

Professor Hosea is a good instructor, but her exams are very tricky. I felt she made things more complicated than they really were. Gives you handouts to take notes during class. LOTS to remember and prove on exams and no calculators allowed, not even the simple scientific ones. Would not recommend her for 180 at all.

She is good at explaining the material and you can tell she has a passion for math. Her tests and quizzes however are really difficult and will be a big hindrance to your success in Calculus.

Absolutely fantastic teacher who WANTS you to pass. Just do the homework and try at the tests and you'll be fine. Gives extra points like candy.

Phebe, aka ms. Lee, is a very nice teacher. She cracks many jokes during her class time. Brings in snacks for the class. Dont use your phone in her class!!!!! Her tests are hard, quizzes are hard, but she grades rather easily giving lots of partial credit. Tells you whats on the test. Go to office hours and you should get atleast a B

I did terrible in this class but she tries so hard for her students to succeed you have to love her. Her tests are stupid hard, ive never studied harder in my life and failed so hard. i recommend her if you have prior experience in calc. this is not an easy class. shes still an awesome teacher only other downfall is that her lectures are realy fast

Great professor! She is very helpful, always there for her students, and not lazy. Her tests are very tough but if you study hard you will do well. I feel very confident in calculus after her class. RECOMMEND TAKING HER but you will have to work hard!

Her teaching is basically what the reviews on here say. Total of 4 exams including the final, each worth 100pts with the final worth 150pts. She gives tickets for going to office hours & participating in class that you can use to raise your grade on the exams. Was never in a bad mood or rude to students. You MUST study or you will fail the class.

She's a young, cute professor who is very enthusiastic about calculus, which was nice for an 8:30 am class. Medium amount of homework. Tests are all free response, but she includes little "easter eggs" in the tests for bonus points. Curves her exams, yet most ppl still didn't score very high. She brings in snacks frequently to explain concepts!

Professor Hosea knows her math very well she teaches you very different ways to solve a problem one picks the one that most is easy. She does give homework but just do it because it does help. She is very funny and if you study and get the help if you need it you should do good

Phebe is one of the best professors I have ever had at Mt. Sac. She is very funny and nice. Her lectures are organized and she is always open about answering questions or clarifying things for a student. Do your work and go to office hours if you need help. You can't expect to pass the math class if you're not willing to put in the effort!

Prof. Lee is cool, but not my style. Class feels like being back in highschool. I prefer to engage as a group of adults Much of the focus is on memorisation, not conceptual understanding. No calculators on tests and much emphasis on arithmetic, which shouldn't be a focus in a calculus class IMO. I wouldn't recommend her for 180 and up,

The obnoxious person mustnt ve looked into the process of becomin a math prf, shame on u. Math 181 is the hardest class of the calculus sequence, especially the series and sequence stuff. A lot of ppl think theyre good at math, and when they get bad grades, they totally blame on the teacher, not themselves. #highschoolstudent?
