boring! had him and erdman as bio teachers. class is really hard. they take turn doing lectures and his is boring. tests are really hard especially the multiple choice. read the book, take notes, and do study groups and you might get a C. more than half the class dropped no joke.
Allman is aite. He know's his stuff and is very helpful if you go to his office. One thing I'd like to mention..If you show your truly interested, he will use that to determine grades at the end of the semester. I recommend this guy.
Good teacher. I've gone to office hours, not many, but some and it helped me. I'm very interested in this class and find it easy because he makes it very clear. You learn to love his sea turtle examples :-D
Dr. Allman is special kind of professor. He is doing things unknown to FGCU and getting great results. His teaching method is unconvention. The is no other I would of wanted to teach me Biology 2 than Dr. Allman. When you got to his office he will help you any way he can. As long as you study 4 days in advance of the exams, you get an A.
he's a pretty great professor. he explains things really well and makes it easy to understand. only thing about this class is that it's A LOT of memorization, but he tries to find way to help you with funny sayings etc. he's always glad to answer any question and help. if you can, take him.
So far of my first semester at FGCU he is the shizznit. BUT...Alongside Dr. Demers she just brings him down. They alternate between lectures and everyone understands him and passes his tests and quizzes, but when she teaches everyone is completely lost. Over half of my class of 90 something students have dropped, but he is awesome.
Biology is really tough, but Dr. Allman makes it bearable. He's always very willing to help in any way he can during office hours and really wants his students to succeed. He gives some funny examples on his power points that help in memorizing the material. He's awesome! Talks about beer a lot too...
He is a great teacher and very willing to help all the time. but the other teacher was not good at all and had me very lost and I had a B- in allans half but like a 40 in the other so im taking allans alone next semester.
He is an amazing professor who is always willing to help his students. Biology is a hard class but Dr. Allman helps to make it easier. His lectures are fun and they keep you awake and focused. He loves talking to his students and is a really interesting person. If you have to take Biology, I'd definitely take his class.
He was a great profesor, easy to talk to and his tests were not so hard, though he does put in critical thinking ?'s. Bio is a hard class but he makes it fun and interesting, though you have to study hard even for him.
Bio is a really hard class but Dr. Allman makes it interesting. He relates most of his lectures to real life, mainly using Family Guy as examples. If you go to his office hours he will help you with anything you need.
Dr. Allman was very helpful. He breaks down the chapter really well so it's understandable. He trys to make boring subjects more bearable by giving plenty of examples. Bio is very hard but if you have to have any teacher this is it!
He doesnt put short answers or free responses on the exams. at least not on the ones ive had so far.
the last two tests we had (unit 3 and 4)..unit 3 had short answer and unit 4 had fill in the blank and short answer. its not hard if you study and I heard that he doesn't always do the same thing with tests, meaning not always short answers on the same test.
Bio is a hard class regardless who you take it with. Allman makes everything easier to understand breaking it down into EXTREMELY simple details. Even people who dropped Bio are planning on taking it with him again.
Biology is in general a hard class Im a bio major so I must take it. Do not take the class if you dont need to. On the other hand Allman is an AMAZING professor. You should study the text before lectures.. He was ALWAYS trying to make biology interesting(very hard to do lol), If you must take this class I definitely recommend him.
Dr. Allman is an amazing professor! I have him this semester and I love going to class! The tests are kind of difficult but study groups and office hours help a lot! He is really easy to understand and he tries to help as much as he can! Take BIO with him:)
Very solid professor. He has plenty of experience in the field which helps him relate concepts to the real world. He makes himself available to anyone who needs help, and is dedicated to helping you learn the material. He isn't easy, but he is quality.
Very helpful and easy to understand. Some advice, do NOT take this class at 8am! Missing his class, even though attendance isn't mandatory is so difficult to catch up. Quizes are online, and are somewhat easy. Exams in class are easy if you study and read the labs! He's a very good teacher, and is willing to help after class.
HARD CLASS. If you go to FGCU then he is def the best professor to have for Bio. He's funny and always has family guy/simpson references that ties in with biology. GREAT PROFESSOR. Always willing to help, go to his office hours and form study groups and you'll get a C.
He is an amazing professor! The class is difficult, but like others said, if you form study groups and attend office hours, it'll make all the difference. I highly recommend him for any Bio course!
Best college professor I've had so far. :) This class is very hard, but he is always there to help and makes everything you learn enjoyable, even at 8am. Read the chapters, and use all of his study aids. I don't have anything negative at all to say, wish I could have a professor like him for ALL of my classes. :)
His herpetology class is difficult & requires a lot of studying i would recommend only taking herpetology on the days you have no other classes, i had to go from cell bio test to knowing reptile names test and its hard
I had professor Allman for Bio I and was looking forward to taking herpetology with him.....BIG mistake. He only focuses on Florida native amphibians/reptiles, which there are about 30 per lab exam that you must memorize (even frog calls). Lecture and lab exams are difficult. I've lost all respect for him. Allman could care less if you pass or fail
Really good teacher! He is definitely not what I would call 'easy', but if you pay attention in class he explains everything really well. He is obviously very intelligent and gives great examples from his own experiences. He's also funny; I always laugh at his jokes :P I HIGHLY recommend taking him!
When I read about this professor, there were ALOT of good things said about him. He is very difficult and stopped giving out study guides during the semester I took him. Be prepared to work extremely hard. Take his class if you are willing to put in A LOT of extra work and go to his office hours, I never did so I'm not sure if they helped.
He doesn't give any study guides or any kind of help for the exam. he says study your notes and you'll be fine but a lot of details come from the textbook. its a difficult class that requires a lot of time for studying
He really did not help at all. Biology is a hard course to begin with and when tests came around, he was probably the only teacher to NOT give a study guide! I do not recommend him over some of the other Bio teachers at FGCU, I would have to argue he just does not care about his students passing AT ALL.
Class is extremely hard. He offers no study guides. Quizzes are all online only open on weekends. Doesn't care whether you pass or fail. Never know what's going to be on the tests.
Very good
Dr. Allman is one of those professors that has a passion for what he teaches. He doesn't release the PP slides so you MUST take notes. The book is good for reinforcement. He is very open to students coming to his office hours and is very willing to help. I felt that his lab practicals were harder than the lecture exams. Overall a great professor. He also loves turtles.
Great prof. I will say that he doesn't give study guides but if you copy his slides word for word, the quizzes are a cake walk. He extremely encourages going to office hours and ask him questions and he will answer them. He does care about people passing but you have to care too If you think his class is hard you should maybe reconsider your major.
Dr. Allman is a nice guy and is always willing to help. Bio 2 is a hard subject but if you study the notes you will be fine. The questions from the quizzes come directly from the notes during lecture. Doesn't give study guides and doesn't suggest using the book.
Great professor that goes out of his way to help students. Probably the only Bio2 professor to offer personal review sessions once a week. It's a difficult class but he definitely makes it easier to pass. His lectures are generally interesting and he includes jokes and videos. I will definitely take him again.
Awesome teacher, extremely knowledgeable about his field.
I had Allman for Bio 2 - LOVED HIM! He's an amazing professor who is passionate about what he teaches so it makes going to class enjoyable. He is incredibly willing to help so if you don't take advantage of that it's on you. His tests are unique/hard. He asks questions in a way to make sure you truly understand the materiaL. TAKE HIM!!!
Dr. Allman is a great professor who is actually interested in what he teaches and he wants to see his students succeed. Attending lecture is vitally important to passing this class, as is writing down what he says instead of just copying what's on the power point. If you need help, he offers multiple ways to get it! Great professor!
Honestly a very good professor. The class itself is not an easy one and an A in the class will require effort, but is very much possible. He gives you what you need the rest is up to you to study and his office hours are always jam packed. GO TO FRIDAY REVIEWS!
I am not a fan of Dr. Allman's personality, he just rubs me the wrong way sometimes. However, he was on occasion funny and enjoyable. He taught a lot about Biology which was actually interesting. His tests aren't difficult just not what he says will be on it so just prepare for anything! and you'll be ok! But I liked him enough to recommend him!
Dr. Allman loves biology and herpetology, so he doesn't put up with BS. That being said, if you genuinely try to get a good grade and show an interest, he is a very nice guy and will try to help you as best he can. You HAVE to study though! Bio 2 is a weedout class and it's not supposed to be very easy.
I would not recommend Allman as a biology professor. He is the most unhelpful professor at FGCU. If you email him, he ignores it rather than assist you with your matter. He is a bit into himself. His class requires tedious studying. He is also rather boring! Try to avoid Allman at all costs. It will be the best option to take someone else who cares
Prof. Allman is the best option for Bio 2 try your best to take his class over Erdman's! Allman is a great professor who really cares about what he's teaching! He's funny and makes the class enjoyable and entertaining. Take good notes and listen to him and make sure to start studying at least a full week before exams! He curves grades at the end!
Allmans awesome, but you really have to studyf or his tests. he has a great sense of humor and will keep you laughin
Dr. Allman has a GREAT sense of humor, his Bio II class is fun & interesting. Weekly online quizzes are easy, his exams are multiple choice and challenging. But you'll learn a lot in his class & he'll help you. Come EARLY, come often to his office hours for help! Friday REVIEW sessions really help, too! I highly recommend Dr. Allman for Bio majors!
Lectures are not fast-paced, which is a good thing. Copy everything down from his powerpoints and write down his extra inputs. He even allows you to record while he's lecturing. Easy weekly quizzes that come from his notes. 4 reading quizzes. 5 exams (including final). Study, Study, Study! Attend review sessions, they help. Very nice professor.
Dr. Allman is a great professor. His classes are a lot of fun and provides many opportunities for field experience. Although the class requires a lot of study time, its still enjoyable if you love animals. Highly recommend this professor.
All the tests are based on the lectures, word for word. He does not take attendances but you will not pass this class if you don't show up to class. There is no extra credit but he does provide help and suggestions when you are studying for the exam. Also there are extra review sessions each Friday. Go to office hours, as much as you can!
There is just something about him that seems wrong. The first day I tried to talk to him and he completely blew me off. Not a very good professor. Tests are alright. However, he's rude and rather self centered. I wouldn't take a class from him again.
Allman is easily one of my favorite professors at FGCU. He knows his stuff, and his passion for his job is evident, which makes it easy to listen to lectures. You'll have to write a 10-15 pg paper for Herpetology, but other than that it was my favorite class here. Tests are easy if you pay attention to lectures and take some time to study...
He really tries to help you as much as he can.
Dr. Allman is a fantastic teacher and mentor , who provides numerous opportunities to truly experience Biology in the field. His classes are adequately challenging and leave serious participants with knowledge they will continue to use for the rest of their careers.
Honestly the most engaging professor I have ever had the pleasure of taking. He is approachable and will explain something 8 different ways until you understand it. He hosts review sessions PERSONALLY the friday before the test for about 2 hours He makes his tests from his lecture so if you don't go to class you won't know the majority of the test.
TAKE DR. ALLMAN! He makes his lectures interesting, even w/ some of the more boring material. His tests are directly from the lectures&fair as long as you put in the effort to study (Bio is a difficult class no matter what) and he does review sessions the friday before his tests. does easy weekly quizzes online to boost your grade. best prof ever!!
Professor Allman's class is very difficult! If you don't study you won't pass. Weekly quizzes and 4 reading assignments. 4 lecture exams and 1 cumulative exam. Very funny and keeps lectures entertaining.
Oh my goodness, Professor Allman was one of the best professors I had at FGCU. I learned SO much from him. He gives extra credit by going on field trips and helping him in the field.. GO ON THE FIELD TRIPS! Write down all the lecture notes, read them over & you'll pass. Make flash cards for the animals you have to learn & you'll be fine.
Dr. Allman is an awesome, straigh-forward professor. He wants all of his students to succeed. He tests you on what he goes over in lecture, so if you show up to ever class and record/write down everything, you have all the material you need to do well on the tests and weekend quizzes.
This class was not easy by any means because of the amount of material that needs to be covered but Prof. Allman did such an amazing job at making things easy to understand. You HAVE to attend class and you HAVE to study or you won't pass. He is hilarious and makes lectures fun. And thats coming from someone who gets bored easily. Take him!!
The tests are based heavily on the lectures, so take lots of notes in class (he didn't give us copies of the lecture slides). Definitely possible to get an A if you put the work in. And, as a bonus, his lectures can be entertaining.
You have to work really hard for a good grade; only drops 1 lecture quiz grade, so your grades on everything really matter! He doesn't provide the lecture slides so make sure to go to class (record them if you don't write/type quickly). He is really funny, and willing to help if you ask for it. The exams are heavily lecture based!!! Overall, great.
Hands down an awesome professor. Dr. Allman's lecture were very clear, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Write down EVERYTHING he says. There will be test questions on material he SAYS not what is written on the projector. His lectures are nicely paced and he doesn't rush though the slides. 4 Exams, 1 Final, 6 weekly quizzes, and 4 reading quizzes.
He's amazing and goes in depth. You need to attend class.
Allman was a great professor because he really cares about his students. BSC 1011 is an information heavy class and you need to pay attention and show up to class.
Professor Allman is by far the best professor I've ever taken. He makes you work for your grade and gives you everything you need to do so. He is very rigorous, but not impossible. As long as you put in the work (as you should be if you're taking Gen Bio 2) you will get what you earn. No extra credit what so ever he is very strict with his grading.
Dr. Allman has been my favorite professor at FGCU. He is thorough and gives students all of the information that is necessary to excel on the exams. I you put forth the effort, you will succeed in BSC 1101. Do not miss class, you will need those points at the end of the semester!
Lectures must be watched before class online and class is about questions posted online which he only goes over about 5 out 40 question. His lectures almost all run 1 hr 20min+. Easy class if you like learning on your own. Short quiz every week. Don't take if you won't like hearing him gulp his drink in his lectures. Good professor though.
He tells you everything you need to know. He does a flipped classroom format meaning you listen to his lectures/slides as homework. This is AWESOME because you can re-listen to them. I highly suggest taking notes the first time and listening again days later, you will catch so much you missed. He's entertaining too. I learned a lot in his class!
Flipped classroom is both a good and bad thing. Class content gets harder and increases in content after each test. You really have to dedicate time to watch the online lectures, study, and memorize the material. Good class, just really put in the work and STUDY (like at least 2 days in advance).
Talks bad about religion during evolution chapter. He needs to read the bible before he makes claims that religion has no data to prove its true. He need to read the story about NOAHS FLOOD IN BIBLE AND APPLY LOGIC TO WHAT CUVIER SAID CASTROPHIC EVENT TOOK PLACE AND WE HAVE FOSSILS CUZ OF CASTROPHIC EVENT
As long as you actually watch and take notes on his online lectures, you will do fine!
Dr. Allman is one of the best professors I have had. He knows a lot about the topic and you tell he is passionate about the topics he teaches. This class is not easy you need to study hard and attend class but you will pass If you put in the effort. He offers field trips which help bring class room material to life. 100% recommend this class.
Come to class and study the notes he mentions in his lectures. He is an easy professor if you put in the effort. His tests are reasonable. Very quick with communication. Will work with students.
Allman's lecture videos are just so hard to get through, they're an hour long and I get tired watching any of the videos on plants, and even though attendance is mandatory, you go to class with a small chance of your question actually being answered. That being said I do well in his class, and he is a good teacher, just such a weird set up.
Professor Allman is great. There aren't many assignments so the test count for 60% of your grade. He is very approachable and wants to help you
Solid professor that clearly presents the material. Class uses the 'flipped classroom' design where he essentially posts his lectures online to watch and then you discuss them in class. Do not buy the textbook, as I never used it. Exams are based purely off his lectures and in class discussions
Don't get me wrong Allman is a funny guy, although his flipped classroom model of doing all of the lectures outside of class is a huge waste of time. He is not a very understanding professor and rarely gives opportunities to improve your grade. Class is very heavily tests.
He has this weird "flipped classroom" style where you watch his lectures online and you come into class with questions. He does not give back your quizzes only so you can visit him during office hours (which is normally jammed packed) and I found this silly as studying the quizzes could only aid us for the test. The test itself is fair, no tricks.
He has a flipped classroom style. This means that you listen to lectures on youtube and write questions on top hat for participation. This is not a class that if you don't put in effort you will still get a good grade. You have to put forth the time and effort if you want a good grade. He doesn't just hand you the grade, you have to work for it.
Allman uses the flipped classroom method meaning his lectures are online, which I find more convenient because you can pause and go back in the lecture if you missed something. You get to miss 3 classes and after those 3, points are taken off. He also takes off the lowest lecture quiz grade. A great professor and cares for his students.
Dr. Allman is a great professor and good at explaining the material. He has 0 tolerance for skipping class, so make sure to go! The tests are content heavy and the lectures drag on, but if you dedicate your time to listening to them the tests are easy. The flipped classroom can get a bit annoying because class time is just review and gets boring.
Passed this class with a 94%... study hard & take very detailed notes of his online lectures (flipped classroom). Attendance is graded, weekly quizzes, 5 exams that are easy if you study every inch of his lectures. Time consuming but much better than bio 1. He is GREAT!
What you get on your test is what you get in class. Tests are random and have nonsensical questions
Graded on just exams. Uses flipped classroom, where you literally listen to an hour and a half lecture on youtube and then go to class to hear the material all over again. No study guides, he says "whatever is said in lecture video could be on exam." Mandatory class, makes you pay for tophat for attendance. 0/10 would ever recommend.
You will only pass this class if you put in the work. If you actually pay attention to the videos/ write down every single thing he says along with whats on the lecture screen, you'll do fine. I made a quizlet for every exam with every single thing he said in the video & got an A on all the exams. It's doable if you put in your own work.
4 Unit exams, weekly quizzes, and a final. He posts online lectures and you use an app (thats crazy expensive) to send in questions to have an in class discussion. The lectures you watch at home are about 1 hour and 15-45 minutes long. He doesn't provide a study guide or practice problems. The class is mediocre at best, but tolerable.
Flipped Classroom. Play the videos at 1.5 speed. Rambles, class lecture is basically a waste of time but he takes attendance for a grade at the end of semester. Don't use the textbook. Class average is a C by design. He doesn't pull punches but it's not hard if you can take good notes and stay organized.
The "reverse classroom" really helped me. He is very clear in his lectures and on what is to be expected on exams. He teaches by association which is extremely helpful to me. He is funny and tries to bring humor into the class. You have to show up but have 1 class you can miss without penalty. He is not intimidating during office hours.
Uses the "flipped classroom," where he explicitly does not lecture. Instead, one must watch the lectures outside of class. Lectures are discussions based on questions posted by students. Your grade is, in essence, your exam average. If you are an independent learner, you should be fine. Study his lectures inside and out; his exams are very detailed
Was not a fan of the "flipped-classroom" scenario. The only upside to this was the fact that you could pause and take notes, over and over... Very, very time consuming and boring. And attendance was mandatory! All we talked about in class were questions that students submitted to a program called TopHat (which you have to buy) that counts for grade
For bio 2 he had a flipped classroom style setup. I was hesitant at first, but in the end it was nice having the lecture to rewatch and study before exams. His tests are very difficult and this class in general will take a lot of your time. GO TO OFFICE HOURS, he notices who puts in the extra work, he bumped by up to an A.
Great prof and cares if you understand. class is very interesting and easy to ask questions. exams were based on lecture material especially important details. Great prof, take him. Made a good transition to online and was willing to help students
He has a flipped classroom, so you watch video lectures as hw and have discussions in class, which means the class itself is really chill. Bio II has a lot of memorization, but he separates the concepts into digestible chunks. The final is cumulative though, so memorize those classifications and life cycles as much as possible! Allman's wonderful!
Dr. Allman uses a flipped classroom type of setting (Online Lectures, Discussions in class) which at first seemed alright for being we are living in a time of coronavirus. This man has good intentions but he rambles entirely too much and does not get to the point fast enough, everything discussed is fair game for test and question wording is weird.
Instead of ensuring that you understand the overall concepts, he says that "anything on the slides can be on the exam". The only way you can do well on these exams and quizzes is if you memorize every single thing he puts on the slides and says aloud. Will not provide a study guide or info about exams. 88% exams, 12% quizzes. Very time consuming.
Flipped classroom so class time is only going over questions. Definitely a very hard class but he is a great professor. He rambles, so listen to the lectures in 1.5 speed. If you pay attention and take good notes, you'll do okay. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! He will help so much.
Dr. Allman uses a flipped classroom: watch 45 min-1.5 hr lectures, post questions about material that we'll discuss during class time. He's very thorough & often lingers-I suggest listening at a 1.5 speed if you can. The textbook is exhaustive so slides & lectures ARE the condensed version of necessary info. USE THOSE TO STUDY. USE OFFICE HOURS.
He's a genuine person and I feel that everyone can see that. I had a hard time watching his YouTube lecture the night before class and having to sit through another lecture/discussion during class. Working full time and school full time, it makes it hard to not fall behind when having to watch 2 lectures for 1 class. Quiz and tests is all you get.
One of the worst professors Ive ever suffered. Absolutely no leniency, no effort put into the course, tests are on abstract irrelevant materials to the lecture. If you have a choice between him and any other professor, take the other professor. 0/10
Do not take this professor! Even if he is the last professor available do not take him. After every test, he would rant about how bad of a class we are. No study guides or extra credit and very strict. He just rambles the whole time in lecture about random things and the tests are near impossible the average of the class for all 4 tests was a 62%
He wasn't an awful professor but he wasn't the best help for the class. There no hw or any other assignments, only quizzes and unit exams. Basically the whole class was just studying for the quizzes that were once a week and for the unit exams. He doesn't give study guides or extra materials to study you only have his pre-recorded lectures.
4 exams, 1 HUGE paper to write that is difficult with a graduate level presentation. I took orgo 2 & physics 1 with this and I basically failed physics because theres not enough time to focus on all 3 classes. I would take this with one other difficult class.
Took him my first year and I had to withdrawal from the lecture class because his methods were all over the place. The flipped classroom was not for me and his exams were very difficult. He also made students get an insanely expensive app to show we had attended class. Would never take again and would not recommend.
Lecture heavy. No books ever needed dont buy them. A project & paper & 4 exams. Is a tough class so do t expect an easy A. Its doable because its interesting but it definitely challenges you. I would recommend it though.
Allman is very knowledgeable, and he teaches through the flipped classroom method. He likes people who participate so heads up. Tests are 60% of your grade and they are HARD, but not impossible. Quizlet seemed to help me a lot to study last minute. Quizzes given on weekends that are open note. Lecture on youtube which is nice to study with.
This class was treated like it was a 4 credit class. Do not take this course unless you want to actually become a sea turtle researcher. He only puts in 5 grades for the whole semester and does not record any of his lectures. The tests are EXTREMELY hard and there is a 5 page research paper and a presentation at the end of the semester.
Ok so I got an A but not without luck and going through hell and back. He lectures with powerpoint, but there are only pictures and no words, which makes it difficult to write down what he's saying. No grades other then tests and a research paper, which he is extremely picky on. If your looking for an easy elective professor, this is not the one.
This course was what I was looking for in that it helped me understand the content in an interactive and captivating way. He made sure everyone was on the same page and promoted cool trips and group projects that made studying things like taxonomy easier. There's a paper, but it was rewarding upon presentation. He definitely creates great interest.
Dr. Allman has incredible lectures with real life stories attached to each one that make you enjoy and want to continue learning the material. He is very transparent about what he wants and provides very honest and valuable feedback. Finally, he demonstrates that he knows what he is talking about and conveys it meaningfully to you. Favorite prof.
He uploads lectures online so you can watch them at your own pace before class discussion.
You watch lectures before class then use the material in class in ways assuming you learned it. No homework besides an open-note weekend quiz each week. An in-class quiz with an access code is used for attendance. Your grade depends on your exam grades. The most easy-going professor I've had. He wants to see you pass if you put time in.
W professor. Strict in the sense that he wants students to follow the instructions he gives, but test questions are very short and straigh-forward. Do ecerything possible to take Allman and not the other professor if you want even a relatively enjoyable 4 months.
Dr. Allman uses a flipped classroom which wasn't too bad for this class. He was very funny and always had a positive attitude. His lectures will prepare you for each exam, and there is a lot of memorization. His office hours were pretty accessible. Tests are a huge portion of your grade, so be careful!
The class is flipped with pre-recorded online lectures and in-class discussions. I personally didn't mind it as lectures could be re-watched whenever. Everything on exams came from the lectures. No homework, just weekly quizzes, attendance is graded, and unit exams. Easy A as long as you can memorize the material. Prof. is nice and very laid back.
wasn't a fan in 2014 when I took Gen bio with him, still not a fan now. He's borderline rude and makes a class that is interesting very boring and hard to stay interested in. takes 30 seconds to explain assignments that take HOURS to do and get slapped in the face with rude/unhelpful feedback.
Dr. Allman is such an amazing professor. He really cares about if his students are learning the material. He's super funny and tells great stories during class. I wish I could have the chance to take him again. A lot of lectures, and only two exams. One review paper and a presentation. All of it was straightforward and easy to understand.
