It is a very hard class to follow, and he dosen't circulate the room well
doesn't facilitate well, easy material, unoriginal assignments, make a webpage
He is helpful if you can catch him, very knowledgeable about computers
Don't skip and pay attention, he goes fast. Nice guy and will help you if asked
great prof....great sense of humor!
He is helpful and has a great sense of humor!
Really cool teacher. Makes class easy. I recommend a 1 day, 3 hour class.
Phil was always willing to help out- doesn't always adhere to strict deadlines (sweet!) easy class
His class is pretty easy but get to know the people around you for help, Phil don't go around the classroom too fast. Good teacher, I'd take him again.
I recommend taking this class one night a week. We always get out early! He really doesn't facilitate well but you can get a lot of help from the people around you.
His class is so easy it's like putting peanut butter on a slice of bread.
I learned a lot of things that I will find useful in teaching. I learned more than I thought I would.
Was worried about this class b/c I know NOHTING about computers and yet I still got an A. He's a really nice guy. I had him on Wednesday nights and he bought us pizza one time!
He is a great guy and professor!! Huge sense of humor and is a great teacher. Fun class, usually get out early too!! Yay!!

Learned a lot, but not from him, all from the people around me, the book wasn't worth it, if you know how to use the programs on an IBM you can probably figure them out on MACs
Take the class one night a week - ALWAYS get out early. Funny guy, easy A, class goes by fast.
I would recommend taking the class one night a week, you'll get out early sometimes. He's really funny and pretty helpful. The book was of little use to me.
Phil's a good prof. He is clear with directions and usualy walks you through the assighment. Lets you out early too on tuesday nights.
A pretty good guy, knows alot and shows you alot. If you already know something about computers, the class is a breeze and almost no homework. If not, its a little more frustrating, but he'll help if you ask. Its true you learn alot from your classmates
Not a very good teacher. I know more about computers then he does. Preaches spelling but he always misspells words. On the plus side his class is easy and you can usually leave early.
He's a great teacher...if you do everything, you will get a good grade. Also, his sense of humor is kinda quirky, but he means well :)
This is the first computer class that I've enjoyed! I learned a lot, but I didn't know much in the first place. He's clear, interesting, and non-stressful.
Very funny guy in a geeky kinda way. I liked his class and learned a lot about computer many that I didnt know about. Easy to get an A in as long as you go to class and get your assignments done.
Very easy. He shows you how to do everything in class. There is rarely any homework. You do NOT need to buy the book. The professor is funny in a geeky way. He is very passionate about teaching.
Very few assignments...his directions were occasionally unclear, but he'd help you out if you asked him to...nice fella...usually takes attendence...emphasizes practical uses of technology
Very easy class, but he really doesn't know too much about computers at all. I'm a Business Ed major, so i've had plenty of computer courses, and this one was a big waste of my time.
He is sorta unclear when trying to explain things...but there is never any hw and you can always ask him a question, even though sometimes he will be sarcastic when he answers you. You have to make websites and a power point, and a lot of other things...all on macs..
This class is pretty easy. You hardly ever have homework, and learn a lot about the practical uses of a computer. He has a weird sense of humor, but he makes the class go by fast.
This class is easy. If you can remember anything from freshman computer class you will have no problem.
Seems like a lot of work at first but you get used to it. Pretty easy A. He gives you a study sheet for the final and that is the final, you cant use it on the test but study it hard.
Thought this class was going to be easy and I'm a very computer literate person. I spend the whole class period helping others because Lundquist doesn't do anything to help us or explain anything. He takes two seconds at the beginning of the class to show an example and after that it's up to you 2 figure your crap out. My opinion,he shouldnt teach!
Lundquist is no help at all when it comes to this class-he basically makes you feel stupid when you ask questions-like why don't you get it??? If you don't know how to use a MAC-this class will definately give you trouble!
Phil Lundquist is the best! I have known him my entire life and he is great.
The class is easy, but he is the most unhelpful professor I have ever had. All of his assignments are very vague in explanations and then you are off on your own fending for yourself.
He's a nice guy, but you better hope you never need help on any assignments.

You pretty much have to know what you are doing in class before you get there and how to use a MAC computer. At times he doesn't seem to know what is going on or how to possibly fix the situation. If you can understand how to do the assignments, very easy class. If you don't understand, good luck. Usually always get out early.
Nice guy, but he has no idea what the heck is going on half the time. He grades pretty easily and I'm pretty sure he curves your final grade. If you know how to use a MAC, you're golden. Don't buy the book, it's a waste of money. Super easy class though.
SUPER EASY CLASS...If you don't pass it's because you didn't want to. He is a really nice guy and likes to joke around. One piece of advice SHUT UP when he is giving the lesson. People talk through his ten minute explanation then are surprised when they don't know how to complete the assignment
I learned a lot
Learned a lot more than I thought I would. Dr. Phil is very helpful if you ask for it. Don't like all the work but, I would do it again. The work seemed hard but he helped explain things well.
Aww Phil is so cute! He is a really nice guy and is always willing to help you. Make sure you pay attention at the beginning of class when he explains the assignment and you will be golden. He grades fairly easy, which is nice. DONT BUY THE BOOK. We used it like once and even that time we didnt even really need it! I learned ALOT in this class!!
Lundquist is a really nice guy, but i did not learn anything in his class. instead of teaching us how to be effective teachers, we just had to show up and watch videos or waste time some other way. i expected to learn so much more from this class, i'm pretty disappointed.
Super easy class. He really wants you to get an A. If you do all the work and turn everything in, its no problem. Likes to talk about himself a lot tho
Phil is a really nice guy, but this class was a waste of time and money. The web destinations were a total waste of time. I thought I would learn so much and was very disappointed and now worry if the state boards will test the material that we should have learned and were not taught
I really liked this class. It covered all the necessary essentials.
Phil is so fricken cute! He has this sarcasm that makes me laugh everyday in class. He isn't very organized but he always answers questions when asked. The class is full of projects but you really learn a lot about technology and how you can use it in your future classroom. I really recommend him!
Great teacher, easy class. Random discussions and lessons. Don't buy the book, you never use it.
Very helpful, willing to stay after hours to help those who need it.
He makes learning fun. I looked forward to the class.
Such a pointless class. He seems nice but the class is a waste of time. He doesn't even teach.. students teach each other the chapters for points. The projects are pointless and ridiculous.
Phil is an awesome teacher. Right when he comes to class, he automatically starts acting like a goof! He made this class really fun to be in. We had at least 1 or 2 projects per week, no book required, and he was very helpful and gave us time on our projects so we dong have to rush. Definitely an easy A and a great teacher to have.
Good guy, but is terrible at teaching. Doesn't plan the lesson well, we spent a lot of time waiting for him to figure out what we would do that day. Doesn't explain the projects well enough.
Phil is really cool and knows his teachings. Although it can be a little hectic, he really wants the students to teach each other - since it is a teaching class. The class is an easy A class.
He is really funny and a nice guy but he is all over the place. Easy A
Dr. Phil was great, really easy class. He always had a backup plan if the first lesson fell through. Highly reccomend!
Makes you do a lot of the learning with groups. Has discussions and helps you focus. Fun class but definitely not the easiest. I learned a lot.
He is very nice, and really goofy. He sort of acts as if he's aloof in front of the class, but when you talk to him one on one, he gets serious when he needs to be. I'm very technologically savvy, so this class was very easy. Almost easy to the point it was unbearable. But I'm sure an average person would learn a lot from his class.
Annoying, not clear in instruction, makes rude comments, and tells only half the class specific instructions. Students are confused all the time about assignments.
If you have a lot patience, I guess you might be OK taking this class. I hated it. He took three hours to go over things that could be done in one. I honestly think there is something wrong with him. He tries to be funny and its just creepy.
Took him for EDU 290. You create a wiki the first week and thats how you "turn in" everything. everything done in class is done online, but he only updates his grades/blackboard like twice all semester, but go to class and keep up on all the little, easy assignments, and you'll get an A. takes attendance not graded but you can't make up if you miss
He reminds me of Willy Wonka because of the way he acts and talks! He is really understanding and helpful, at least as long as you email him when you will not be attending class, and try to make it to his class on time. He is not mean at all and is open to any help or questions.I feel he made the class enjoyable and fairly easy.
Very easy class as long as you show up. The assignments are small but every point counts. Instructions are not always clear but simply ask and he will help you. Easy A.
Dont need to buy a book which saves alot of money. he is a funny guy and not too serious. i know nothing about computers and i got a 98%. go to every class and do all the assignments when he gives them to you and you'll get an a.
Highly recommended for a required education class. Gave us ample time for projects. Taught new and useful material. Allows you to leave class when you finish your work.
Professor Lundquist was one of the most entertaining professors I have yet had. I would definitely recommend him for EDU 290. He didn't require a textbook or any other materials. He was very funny and helpful. The assignments were easy; no one in my class got less than a B in the class.
One of the nicest professors I've had at CMU. The content of the class isn't difficult but is extremely useful outside of the classroom. I would highly recommend him for this class!
One of the easiest classes that I've ever taken, but for a technology class, you would think that the professor would be much more organized...
Super easy! You do all the assignments in class except for like two and you always get out early. You have to take a couple open book quizzes and one final exam but def. a great professor for this course.
Such an easy class that it was hard to make myself go. He loves his students and does everything he can to help them out.
The class was very easy. The wiki site we had to make was annoying though. You had to have everything perfect for him. There was no point in going to vlass except getting the assingments and attendance.
Funny guy, with a sarcastic sense of humor. Class was informative. He grades very easy and is a very laid back professor. Lets you use your book on the quizzes. Final was take home.
Everyone who said he is a great professor is crazy. He drags out the material and makes it so boring. If you can't make it to class make SURE you email him before or else you will get marked down for every absence. The class was easy but got marked down 2 letter grades for absences. Thinks hes pretty special/funny...but hes not.
Phil is a great guy, hes goofy, and cares about his students. Take this class with this man!
very easy class! He's a very funny, friendly cute with a dorky sense of humor, making for a good class environment. knows what he's talking about, very helpful.
Funny at first. Became sarcastic, and unclear throughout semester.
The students pretty much teach the class because he thinks that is what we are going to be doing with the rest of our lives. Very fun class, you will learn some very cool things to do in your classroom. Really funny and easy to talk to.
Professor Lundquist is one crazy guy, but he's hilarious. Sometimes you have no idea what he's talking about when he's lecturing, but if you ask him to clarify he will. He is really helpful and this class is so easy. It was the easiest class I've taken in college so far. Also, he doesn't require a textbook! Would recommend him highly!
Great guy, easiest class ever. It's a fun class and as long as you show up and do the work he guarantees you an A. You learn a lot of interesting things, and he's super helpful. His assignments are extremely easy & the tests he does give our simple.
Dr. Lundquist is a really nice professor and knows a lot about the different tools of technology. He gives students a list of the most used teacher and student tools in a classroom and has the class make their own portfolio of examples from each. It's usually pretty easy to follow along and interesting to learn how to use new applications
Phil's a cool guy. He has a great personality and engages his students. There's many small assignments throughout the semester that make up most of you grade. Go to class and complete them and you'll rock the course.
Dr. Lundquist is great! He's really laid back and his attendance policy is wonderful. He lets you use your book on quizzes and tests but it's not really that necessary to read. I would take him again, he's so nice and funny.
Love me some Dr. Phil! Honestly one of the best teachers I've had and he is one of the kindest teachers you'll ever have!
Great Professor! if you attend class and complete your assignments you'll have an easy A. He gives clear directions and is there to help if you attend class. He's a funny and understanding guy.
By far my favorite professor. He's understanding and willing to compromise on any projects or assignments. He values student opinion and participation in his class and creates a welcoming environment. Class was SUPER easy as long as you showed up, assignments were simple and often done in groups. HIGHLY RECOMMENCED!
The online class was project based. There wasn't much learning, it was just use showing that we could complete certain technology based skills. The class was weird since some people in it were not educators, so it was tough to get through group stuff because we had such different backgrounds.
Phil is a goofball. He is funny. Show up for class and do the project in class and you will pass. There is a new project each class, but none take super long to do and he usually lets out early, so you will have time to finish if you need it. He is pretty cool and easy to get along with. Make sure you are prepared for your presentation though.
Hes so cool, always have a good laugh in his classroom. Class was fairly easy just show up and do the work in class. There is barely ever homework.
Easy class, make the most of it. Lundquist is approachable and easy going.
Lundquist is a genius-you (not him) end up teaching the class through projects during the semester. Overall not a very difficult class and it does expose you to many different web applications, but most of them aren't applications you'll actually use in your classroom. Should've taught more about things we'll actually use-PowerPoint, PC, etc.
I think this was Lundquist's first time teaching EDU 107 and he really didn't know how to approach it. Class was super easy nonetheless. Most of the work was just busy work. Super laid back and easy going. Very well respected in the teaching department and has many great stories to pass along. Fairly easy grader as well.
Lundquist was the nicest, most caring, professor I have ever had. By the end of the year he knew you personally and considered all of his students his friends. He frequently brought food for us and the course content was ridiculously easy. Easy A if you even put in the slightest bit of effort. Final exam is ridiculous easy
I absolutely LOVED Lundquist. He is the biggest sweetheart, and the most adorable prof you will ever have. Little to no HW. On days we have quizzes there isn't class, you just have to complete the quiz during class time. He is also really helpful if you have questions, and is always down to talk. 100% taking him again
Show up to class, do the projects, get an A. Prof. Lundquist is a fair and nice guy who makes your life super easy. Take this class!
Lundquist was often very unorganized, and at times annoying. However, he was also a very kind, caring individual who I did learn a decent amount from. His class was extremely easy, but if you skip you'll miss out on a lot of in class work that you might not hear about until it's too late, and your grade could also go down due to his policies.
Dr. Lundquist is one of my favorite professors at CMU. He is such a nice guy and very caring! He makes going to class easy with his humor and interesting lectures. He makes your life easy in this class and actually teaches you a ton if you don't know much about technology. I HIGHLY recommend him!
Dr. Linquist is a wise goofball, put simply. He often appears to be oblivious, but he knows what's what. He's helpful, fun, and unique. You won't get too much work, maybe about 5 essays throughout the semester, and you'll have a group project or two. It's a pretty relaxed class and usually fun.
Dr. Lundquist is a silly guy, but very unorganized. When he lectures, he knows what he's talking about and is easy to understand. Students teach most of the class. Overall, EDU 290 is the biggest waste of time. I didn't learn anything that I couldn't have figured out on my own or did something in class that I couldn't do in 15 minutes at home.
Dr. Lundquist was really fun!! I will say the class structure in general was annoying, it felt like a writing intensive. BUT, it was still a good class and he was really awesome. You are required to go everyday or you get points off so attendance is mandatory, but if its serious you can email him and he's fine w it.
First thing you will notice about Prof. Lundquist is his awkward, borderline creepy humor that can quickly make an entire room feel uncomfortable. Regarding his lessons and instruction, he does not communicate well via email. Many assignments are not explained well, and often have contradictory elements to their directions. Pointless class!
He is a good professor but is a little unorganized. The directions are usually confusing, but he is an easy grader and he gives lots of extra credit. There is almost no homework in this class and he makes your life really easy. When we were forced to go online, he had us meet over Zoom. Due to the nature of the class, this class was perfect online.
He's a good guy, but super unorganized. Nobody ever knew what was happening (including him). He often changed due dates and requirements for assignments. He's awkward and funny and passionate about teaching, but I wish I had a different professor. You mostly learn from the textbook, however. It's an easy A class as long as you do the work.
He is very unorganized, and is always walking in right at class time or after the class is supposed to begin. He gives you projects, and gives no instruction on how to do them. He makes you feel bad if you do something wrong. Work is worth very small amount of points. Very little room for error.
Dr. Lundquist is an awkwardly funny guy, however his teacher style is very unorganized and challenging to follow. He's an easy grader and as long as you complete your work you'll pass, but due dates and other important information are often lost in translation. He can also be challenging to reach outside of the classroom. Textbook is online.
290 is the most pointless class for anyone going into education. His teaching style does not help make it any more worthwhile. Overall a very easy class if you just do the work but I just could not deal with how pointless the class was (1,000 dollars to sit there and learn nothing).
In EDU 290, all we learned about was applications (i.e. Kahoot) that could be used in teaching. Going into the class, I knew more than the professor and learned nothing the entire semester. He is also bad with computers. He does care about teaching and tries to help students, but just isn't educated with computers. The class is a waste of time.
This dude doesn't even know how to use anything he teaches. His teaching is archaic, un-evolved and impossible to follow. He was micro-aggressed minority students on the daily. Said that he hates "how out" queer students are. Can't use google, WebEx, or anything that was made after 1999. Impossibly awful.
super easy class. the main group project is learning a web application and presenting it to the class. then you have to watch others presentations for the rest of the semester plus a few other small projects. While the negative reviews on Professor Lundquist are kinda accurate, hes a very wholesome guy and I liked his class.
I hated going to his class. We paid $1300 to be taught by our classmates online applications that we've been using for years. So pointless.
This class was very easy. At times it felt a little unnecessary because we were learning about applications we have been using since elementary school. But that is not Dr.Lunquist's fault, I'm assuming it is the curriculum's. He is super nice and funny. Class was usually let out early. No textbook. Very easy class to take, wish it was cheaper lol!
This professor was AMAZING! He gave ample opportunities for extra credit, he told you exactly how he would be grading assignments so you knew what he was looking for, and he made learning fun. 10/10 would take this professor again.
EDU290 is an easy class, but can feel a bit repetitive. Professor Lundquist is nice and tries his best, though his teaching style doesn't always resonate. Using Unstuck ai along with the free textbook helped me do well in this course.
