Honestly, if you're good at Econ you'll do fine. I am not though. His lectures were all over the place and hard to understand and the weekly quizzes were from what he taught, not the book. It was just a difficult class to navigate.

Professor Mayer is not the best. He is funny and a good guy, but as a teacher not the best. He tends to get off topic a bunch, and his class is honestly hard to learn in. He does post his midterm questions early, so you can study them and write them down and transfer them to the test. He does has attendance days where attendance counts for extra

This was my first ever econ class and it was terrible. His lectures are all over the place and not very helpful because he doesn't teach well. Not very good at explaining the material. There's also only 3 grades, two midterms and a final, which I did not enjoy. I was not even supposed to have him as my prof but I think the other class was full

I would have to say I barely learned anything from his class. He also gives pop quizzes randomly that are so poorly written it is hard to take them. I would advise not to take him unless you already know the content.

I have NEVER received an f in my school career. He waited to put grades in till after the drop period. He doesnt know how to teach. His lecture makes no sense. He uses crash course and other professors PowerPoints. Attendance acts like extra credit because its the only easy grade. Theres no studying for his class, the answers are specific to him

Absolutely ridiculous tests question. Very contextual to what he said in class however while you are listening to his lectures you have no idea anything he says matters cause it sounds like random nonsense. Very poor job at explaining/expanding on any concept he introduces, just kinda shrugs off any questions, cant stress enough how bad the test r

No matter where you sit, you will not know what this man is talking about. He never answers questions, as a matter of fact, it's like he gets offended when you do ask one because he thinks he is so clear with his speaking but he's really not. His tests are based of what he thinks and the PowerPoints are useless.

Professor Mayer is one of the worst professors currently at KSU. His lectures are a rambling mess, and his tests are ridiculously difficult. The highest I ever scored on a test was an 85%, and that was with my notes! DO NOT take this class with Professor Mayer!!! The only reason I got an A was from his insane participation grade.

10/10 Would not recommend, especially if you dont understand Econ as is. His lectures are very hectic, disorganized, and incoherent. He writes notes on the board while lecturing but theyre messy, he does not have lecture slides. The midterms do not make ANY sense. He doesnt update assignment grades but expects you to calculate your class grade.

He's very lecture-heavy, but the caveat is that it's hard to follow precisely what he is trying to teach because he gets caught up in off-topic rambling conversations. There is no use of a microphone during the lecture, which considering the large class size, makes it impossible always to understand what is going on. The only grace is online exams.

Professor Mayer was awful. His lectures had nothing to do with the graphs he would randomly display. We were only graded on 3 test and class participation. Every single time he sent a test out, there was an always a problem with it. The only saving grace was that test are take home, however, you will teach yourself. Don't take him if you can.

Grade is based off of 2 quizzes, one final + attendance. You have a set amount of days you have to show up to class for points. The tests and quizzes are horribly written. Belive the other reviews- NOTHING HE TEACHES IS ON THE TEST. Never found a single Quizlet for his class either. Most of the lecture is him rambling/doing something unrelated too.

This instructor did not teach us anything. Going to class is pointless, and he teaches as if you already understand all of the content. He would also get off on side stories while trying to tie the stories into part of the lesson, but the issue is that he would just get so deep into the side story that you completely forgot which class you were in.

He goes on tangents about things like the highway or his neighbor Linda, and what you learn, you'll either know from high school or figure out on your own from the internet.
