Awesome awesome professor. You can't help but get excited about the subject matter because he makes it fun. I have learned a lot from him. He's an all around great guy.

One of the best professors I've had so far. Doesn't assign homework and puts slides online. Cracks jokes and actually makes learning the material fun. He offers plenty of fun extra credit opportunities and is always available to help. If you show up to class and pay attention you will do well. I would highly recommend taking one of his classes!

Mr.C was the instructor for my unexpected,favorite class of the semester.The lectures fly by each class because of how interesting he makes geography with his own photo examples taken from his travels, and by teaching us the subject in a way we can all relate to.Mr.C is a smart,funny,and dedicated teacher that grades fairly and offers extra credit.

Mr. C. is the best teacher I have had at V.C., he made the material easy to understand and interesting for everyone. I highly recommend taking one of his courses if you are not partial to science, or even if you are. He is a model of what my ideal professor is and should be in the setting we are in.

Mr. C is one of the coolest teachers I have had while at VC. He is very down to earth and that's probably due to his knowledge of the subject. He really strives to make geography easy for you and if you take this class you should be stoked. Also he gives detailed study guides before the tests so study them and you should pass with flying colors.

Mr. C is very funny and knowledgeable tests are fairly easy and there is a lot of extra credit. I thought I was going to hate this class but I loved it.

I really enjoyed this teacher. He wants to see his students succeed. Also, he keeps class fun by making jokes and involving the students. We took several field trips for extra credit. It was really fun to meet more of my classmates and spend time learning about geography while being outdoors.

Really awesome professor. Gives study guides that are the same thing as test; HOWEVER, they are worded a lot different and tries to trick you, so pay attention! A test in lecture is 50 points and he offers 50 extra credit points. If you do not get an A in this class, you clearly do not care about college.

Lecture is 4 tests and that is it. 50 points each and tons of EC. If you cannot pull an A in this class, you do not belong in college. He is a really awesome guy. I would gladly take another class with him in a heart-beat.

This was the best class I have taken in college so far. He makes the subject so relevant and he makes the class so fun, you look forward to going. He encourages students to do their best and travel the world. He inspired me so much I am going to europe for a month this summer! Class is easy, only lecture and 4 tests plus tons of EC!

I had no real interest in the subject prior to taking Mr.Clintons class, but if theres a teacher who can get you interested in a subject its definitely him. if you have to take a science class with a lab do yourself a favor and take it with him.

NEVER met a professor who cared so much about his students. 1st assignment is a 1 on 1 interview in which he asks what he can do to help you succeed in his class. No homework after that. 4 exams which are NOT difficult at all. Incredibly funny guy, its a shame my insomnia keeps me from participating/attending regularly. Thanks for everything Mr. C

hands down, best teacher this side of the san andreas. haha does NOT assign homework, fun field trips. he turns what might be a yawn-worthy subject for some into something they can correlate -smart guy. take him. and LISTEN.

I had no interest in Geography before this class. I ended the semester loving it. Mr. C. by far,is one of the best prof's I have had. He is very passionate about the class and explains in detail. He brings humor to his class which keeps it from being boring. His exams are straight from study sheets but totally changes words. Ladies,great eye candy!

Mr. C is my favorite teacher at VC! He is extremely helpful and he always puts what we're learning into real-life examples. There are 4 quizzes and the final isn't cumulative. Lots of extra credit options, which include fun hikes. Really funny and will laugh at himself. I am terrible at all forms of science and I got an A. I learned so much.

Prior to taking Mr. C's class I had no interest whatsoever in Geography. I was kind of dreading taking it to be completely honest. At the end of the semester my perception was completely changed and this has been my favorite class/professor I've taken! Mr. C is an outstanding teacher that will help you understand and his passion will inspire you!!

I took his class this 2014 spring semester, Mr. C is the best science professor I have had. He truly takes interest in his students and has his students engaged in his lectures and labs. You won't regret taking his class. You will definitely learn in his class.

DON'T EVEN BOTHER enrolling with another professor. None of them even come close to Prof. Clinton's level of devotion to his students' success. Take the lecture and the lab, read the text, and you will do fine. The class is hard but Prof. Clinton is the best professor you could possibly ask for and WILL make himself available to help. He is an expert in his subject, he makes it so easy to understand, he is hilarious, and he has actually has first hand knowledge of all this geography. Most of the pictures he shows are his own! He is extremely knowledgeable in his field of study (and lives it as a hobby), he's quite approachable, keeps things entertaining and challenging at the same time, and he's available to help students. If you're unsure if you'd enjoy geology/oceanography, I'd recommend to take his course.

I really enjoyed taking the class with Mr. C! I've seen many teachers (I have taken over 200 units) and he is one of my very favorites. He really cares about the students. He is the only teacher I have ever known to take time out of his weekends to engage the class in hikes social activities to encourage students to learn outside of the classroom.

By far my favorite teacher I've ever had in my college career. He really cares about his students and is willing to help whenever he can. I highly recommend taking a class from him. He gives out a study guide before each test and goes over all the questions, you just have to find more detail to each later. He does have some trick questions though.

This was my second class with Mr.C, the first being oceanography over a year ago. He is one of the most influential teachers I've had, involving students in a way which emphasizes personal respect and care. Tests can be tough if you are lazy, but he keeps the class involved with laughter, discussion, and field trips. Teachers like him are rare.

Was going to drop this class cause I felt it was a little over my head. Mr. C talked me into staying and worked with me to get thru the material. Passed the class. Amazing, compassionate professor.

I really liked Professor Clinton! I took Geography V01 last semester, I liked it so much I actually considered changing major to Geography, then I reconsidered! Ha! He is great though, his lectures are funny and his quizzes arent terrible. The online work brought my grade down by to a B instead of an A. That stuff was a grade killer.

He puts a lot more effort into his classes than I've seen with other teachers. His tests are a bit challenging but he's clear about what he wants. Make sure you aren't late though he starts right on time.

The class was fun and very informational. The lectures are fun, he cracks lots of jokes but is never rude or insulting. His lectures are mostly discussion based; he won't just read out of the book or off of slides. Notes are necessary. Minimal homework, and the tests, which can be pretty difficult, are covered both in the lecture and study guides.

Phil is the best teacher i have ever had in my life no BS. He is not the type to just feed you crap to just regurgitate. He tries really hard to get the entire class involved and really take his time to make sure you understand the material. If i had to pick a role model in life to follow he is the dude. Super down to earth and a great human being!

Mr. C is awesome. His GEO Lab was pretty difficult for me because it made me actually use my brain. 3 tests and about 12 labs. You switch lab partners throughout the semester so hopefully you get good people. Offers 5 chances for extra credit so do all of them. Tests can be difficult if you don't study. No HW or testbook. All in all TAKE HIM!!

Mr. C has changed my entire perspective on school. He's so incredibly passionate about his subjects and it definitely shows, creating an awesome lecture experience. I'm taking his Geography class right now and he is HILARIOUS! His tests are difficult, but as long as you study you should pass them. Tests are 20 multiple choice questions, some photo recognition, and recreating a drawing completed in the lecture. I find myself cracking up at all of his jokes in class and enjoying the lectures, too! TAKE HIM!

Mr C is amazing. I am taking 3 of his classes right now and out of my 3 semesters so far he is by far by favorite teacher. He makes me want to change my major to Geography. His lectures are amazing, he fills them with personal experiences, he makes jokes to keep the class engaged, and he is very understanding! He is an amazing professor TAKE HIM!

Clinton really cares about teaching & comes to class in a good mood. He's travelled a ton so he gives extra credit lectures about places all over the world. He's light on attendance but you'll miss alot of info.

By papers I mean labeling and coloring maps, easy, plus maps can be found online. Keeps you paying attention with lots of jokes. Easy A, but i slack off... if you do the study guides and know how to study solid. Gives extra credit opportunities. He does not like when you are on your phone, falling asleep or leave early, HE WILL CALL YOU OUT FOR IT!

I liked Mr. C a lot, but his class was way too hard I thought. It's graded on 5 quizzes and then a cumulative final. The final is the worst part since you have a quiz right before the final so you get almost barely any time to actual study for the final. He's a really nice and funny professor though. Do all his extra credit, it will help!

He is a great, hilarious professor and knows how to explain super well, but the class isnt exactly easy. You have to work for your grade definitely. There are a bunch of quizzes and the final is on all the material from the semester. Keep your quizzes because he uses the same questions from those for the final!

i was originally taking the class on campus but due to COVID-19 we had to switch to online. His in person class required you to take good notes, do 4 assignments and 4 tests and his online class had a heavier workload but nothing you couldnt manage! Overall it was a successful semester, he is passionate about geog & funny! Definitely recommend him

Loved his online course, super easy and simple to follow along and the assignments aren't difficult at all. Thank Bob that my professor didn't want to do an online course and transferred it to Philip Clinton. Would take again, very reasonable, caring, and accommodating.

Only took the Lab online with this professor. Very little lectures and instruction. You have to read the book and google, to find information. He was very accessible through email though. If you can figure things on your own, its good. If you require lectures, then it wont be here. I think it was too much work for a lab and 1 credit class.

Easy class as long as you just do the work. There are a few quizzes, but mostly just group discussions, projects and writings. Learned a lot of new stuff that I never knew before. Easy to email and get very quick response.

I had Mr. C this fall as my first time on campus after covid and he is GREAT! He gives the best lectures as he provides pictures and examples from his own experiences. If you attend class and take good notes youll pass. By far one of the best professors ive EVER had!

Professor gives a clear grading criteria. Major part of your grade is discussion essay responses. Uses videos as main teaching tool, however the quizzes don't always coincide with the videos. Only one attempt at quizzes, and one 50 pt. extra credit opportunity in the end. Very helpful, is there when you need, and provides feedback. Great professor!

*covid class* I enjoyed the structure of his class but it was basically taught by YouTube videos & a free online textbook. Often test questions are worded in a VERY confusing way but they do repeat, so study the ones you get wrong. Mr. C. responds to emails quickly, is kind & always down to help you if you ask, but as a prof he felt detached to me.

Mr. C is an absolute legend! He makes geography so interesting and is full of knowledge. You must study hard for the tests because you are graded on very few things besides them. You will laugh a lot and be excited to come to class. Take his class in person if possible.

He tells you what will be on the test. Access to videos and notes when taking tests. He is able to make classes fun and bearable. His class has convinced me to major in Geography. I highly suggest him.

Good lord do I say, TAKE MR. CLINTONS CLASS! This guy is outstanding, I don't think I've ever gotten through a class not paying attention, he explains things in a very simplistic and memorable way. Make sure to not miss his deadlines and show up on time for class.
