"This is going to be the shortest lecture, ever!" HAHA, Phil. Funny jokes, very fast talker, you had better keep up. Does not encourage students to ask questions. It would be nice if he did. But, generally seems to be pretty approachable and a happy go lucky type. He is 28 yrs old, brand new to teaching, and he really knows what he is talking about

His history class was the worst which I ever took. He never explain about the philosophy of topics, but he only talks about the stupid biographies with silly jokes. The worse, he pretends as if he thinks he is cool. In addition, the text book was no use for the exams. BETTER AVOID HIM!!

Dear Phil, here are some constructive comments for you. Firstly, I know you are trying to slow down your speech, but please, try harder. Your lectures are so short because you talk too fast; it's hard to take notes. Secondly, please encourage questions from students. Thirdly, thank you for re-weighting the disastrous 2nd test. (10% instead of 20%)

Yeah, I agree with the last post. Prof talks way too fast. Midterm was so difficult. Questions were really knit-picky. Ask us about more important general topics. Please post the class notes the night before the class, and not 30 minutes before class begins. There are also lots of typos on the overheads which are distracting. Nice guy, though.

Theres so much material to cover and the KILLER midterms arent helping. You know youre screwed when prof tells you he didnt know the answer to one of the Qs and had to look it up. Please speak slower in class. Phil, you tend you gloss over the really important topics in the course, and then spend extensive time on biographies that we are not even tested on. If you slowed the cadence of your speech, the class would last 1.25 hrs. Entice students to ask more questions, most are inhibited. Hope next exam is easier than the last

Most of the students in the class are girls and his teaching style reflects that fact. Most seem to enjoy his jaunty style, but for me it was a deterrent from attending class. He is a very engaging teacher. He is animated and has a good sense of humour. The tests are hard, and not always clear. He is a hard marker. To do well you need to memorize the material.

I ended the class with an A- but I have few good words for this teacher. He needs to keep up to date with his reading and he is highly opinionated on things like PMS, DID and meds without proper knowledge about the subjects. Tests are hard, you can memorize word for word and not break 90. He is engaging and funny. I recommend him for social psych.

He is a good and helpful teacher. His courses are interesting and animated. On the other hand, he is a hard marker. If you take this class, you will learn a lot but make sure you read the textbook carefully and learn the slides by heart.

Great teacher! Midterms are not that hard I got an easy C just by attending, my gues is that by reading the book you can surely get an A if care a bit more. Attendece is not that much needed but if you like stand up comedy that's the place to be. Seeing him imitate babies is an unforgettable sight hahaha. He does not like scuba diving anymore lol

Super great prof! His lectures are totally worth going to, he has a lot of relevant and entertaining stories that help you recall the information he was teaching about when it comes time for the exam. That being said, his tests are extremely difficult. My class had three equally weighted multiple choice tests, and they were tricky as hell.

Dr. Cooper is great. He knows his stuff and gives a lot of great examples to back-up the class material. His exams are quite hard and the instructions for the paper are too vague. However, you won't regret taking him - he's very funny and approachable.

All I can say about Philip is that he is really funnny. He made the classes interesting with his sarcasm and jokes. However, his exams are really tricky, and his paper is very vague, so I would say to go see him about the paper.

As most people have mentioned, Dr. Cooper is very funny. He makes class interesting and relevant by giving personal anecdotes and encouraging discussion. He obviously knows the material well, and knows how to impart this knowledge. Exams are so-so, however, the instructions for the paper are vague so I would recommend seeing him for clarification.

Dr Cooper is very entertaining teacher. His exams are difficult the MC is tricky, however if you attend class and skim the textbook you should be able to pull of a good grade. Make sure if the paper is not clear to ask questions in class, this can help boost your grade. I would recommend him!

Class time is engaging and interesting, he basically teaches from the textbook, however he adds a personal touch, making it easier to recall material. He purposely doesn't give you clear instructions for the paper, because he wants you to pull up your big kid pants and take some initiative. He's the most well rounded prof in this department.

Amazing teacher, funny, interesting, passionated... but the course is incredibly hard - so much material to remember!!! And you'd better go deep in the details on tests or points are going to fly away!

He's a great teacher. His lectures are awesome and very entertaining. He made the history of psychology interesting. He is helpful if you go see him in his office. Exams are not easy, but are fair if you go to class and read the textbook. Class slides go along with the textbook directly. He's great! Second time taking him and would take him again!

Interesting teacher who definitely knows his stuff in depth. His exam questions are wide open and not precise, leaving you guessing during an exam what is it that he wants. By the time you figure out what his expectations are, the course is over. He takes away more marks for what's missing than he gives for the correct answers you put down.

By far the best prof I have ever had. Phil is AMAZING, so smart and hilarious. He knows what he is talking about and he makes the course material very easy to understand by giving examples and telling really funny stories. I never got anything below an A in his exams. Do what you can to take all the classes he teaches, you won't regret it!!

He's a hilarious guy to listen to and his anecdotes help you remember the material well. However, there is A LOT of material. Expects you to know everything from every chapter, doesn't tell you what to focus on to narrow down your studying and then asks very specific questions which make it hard to receive a decent grade. Would not take again.

Best teacher in psychology. Lectures are amazing; fun and hilarious. Also very helpful one on one. Tests can be kind of tricky, but nothing extraordinarily hard, read the book, go over your slides. Would take him for every single class. He is the hottest thing of all time, could go on in graphic detail but ill keep it pg-13.

He may be funny at times, but not worth it. He had to curve the grades up. The tests are VERY difficult. 6 "short" answer and maybe 20 MC in 1 12 hour class time. The short answer questions are super precise and you need to know the material inside out to get over an 80. (at least 12 hours of pure studying per test)

His classes are not difficult, but it literally made me angry to be in his classes. He can be offensive and condescending, especially during office hours. The grade you receive for the paper can not be argued, even with empirical evidence. He thinks he knows best about everything, and is not open to change. Overall pretty easy though.

Hilarious teacher. The course is tough because of the amount of material but he makes everything as easy as possible to remember. I enjoyed going to every one of his lectures although it is not mandatory. Notes are great, textbook isn't bad either. His tests are long but not hard if you know your stuff and he gives hints in class.

I agree with other students. His lectures are fun, he makes course material relatable. His exams on the other hand, not so fun, maybe 5 MC and 4 essay questions. If you arent someone who could memorize a textbook avoid him. Even one piece of information missing gets you a C at best.
