Very good teacher, good lectures, fair testing
if u understand his lecture and do the hw, you'll do well in the class.
very clear, great lectures, fair testing and homework, fun teacher, wry humor
If you are looking for a good introduction to philosophy course this is the teacher for you. Makes what could be a very difficult subject fun and understandable. You do not need to be a philosophy major to be able understand the key concepts of the course
He's really clear, funny and helpful. He welcomes you to his office hours and tries to help as much as he can. Also, he has extra hours at the Social Sciences Learning Center, and he helps there too. I really enjoyed my time at his class.
Too sexy for his own good. His intellect makes me tingle.
Easy class. Just play attention to his lecture. Write down the note, understand the material. Then, getting A in this class is like piece of cake =)
A class-A teacher. He's willing to stay up all night to help you understand a concept. Friendly, good-going teacher with many jokes up his sleeve.
One of the best of PCC's younger faculty; a great teacher with warmth and humor -- take him!
Quite possibly one of the world's most intelligent philosophers. I'm convinced that he, and he alone, knows the secrets of life. Take his class and you will understand.
he's good just really into his class. Listen, and the work and you'll be fine
Clear lecture, nice and interesting guy, easy homework. Study carefully. I learned phil. easily from his class. Damn, almost get a A. 88%, it's only a B+, but tell u what, I only pay attension to his lecture, never study outside class.
This gut knows his stuff. Pay attendion to the lectures, or else your lost. Gotta put the effort with this class. Only 5 topics discussed through whole fall semester. Should be an easy class, but don't slack off to much, or else your toast.
Coming into this class thinking I was dead meat for taking such a difficult subject. He made it easy because he did not expect a lot from us and totally explained things clear and barely even scratched the surface of logic
He's a great teacher and is always willing to help you out. I got a D in his class but it's cause I got lazy. Keep up with the reading and you'll do fine.
Wonderful teacher. One of the most intellegent men I've ever encountered. PCC is lucky to have this man on staff. I did really well in his class, but I had to work really hard. He's amazing and his class is well worth the time you put in.
i got a D in his class, and i did all my hw and listened to him, but maybe cuz i was always late, he failed all my quizs/tests, i dun think he's easy, i duno y people say he's easy, all my other friends got either C/D, and some of them are A student.
Overall, i think he is a good professor. He gives a lot of homework though. SO be prepare to do a lot of work if u take him. ^_^
He is the BEST professor on campus! Believe me, you HAVE to take at least one of his classes. He is funny and CUTE! You will fall in love with his lecture and his philosophy! and of course, BK is evil...
I don't have good things to say about Reagan not because i got a bad grade. i just don't understand why he throws me a c- while my buddy gets a B Plagiarise me. however, the class is challenging and he knows his****; so put your thinking caps on.
Excellent teacher! One of the few who actually cares about your progress. Responds to e-mails and always available during office hours. Explains until you understand subject. Be prepared for a lot of reading! Lectures are humorous-hates BK! Grades fair.
He is excellent! Teach really well! Knows his stuff. He really cares about anyone. His grading is fair. You have to pay attention to keep up with him. He is a nice guy!
Need extra help? He'll stay after class to help you! Makes logic interesting because he's a fun and nice guy. Very clear on the subjects, tests are the same as the homework he assigns. Class usually ends early cos he's that good!
Regan was an excellent professor! He is so intelligent. I thought I was going to fail this class at first, but I end up getting a B. I learned a lot in his class, he helps when I didn't understand. We had homework everynight, but it was an cool class!
He is a funny guy, and this is a fun class. But just make sure you go to class and do the assignment and NO PROBLEM! He is very helpful, he wants all of his students to succeed!!
Great guy with clear mind.
DIFFCULT BUT FUN
This guy is THE BEST!!! He tries to help anyway he can. Many people in our class found it hard but I think thats because of the language barrier. He repeats things as many times as it takes for you to understand. If you have to take Philo take Regan.
ah! so easy! he teaches very well.he remembers all students' name! awesome!! take him!! he is so helpful, too.
cool prof, this guy teaches well and his class is interesting. i would recommend him to anybody.
Logic was an incredibly hard course for me. Mr. Regan made the class fun and was there to help with any questions that you had. He read the class well according to what we were understanding.
I was scared to take any philosophy class cause you have to write so much -- Regan made it so fun and easy; he is totally caring and good.
Very helpful, answers your questions. Pay attention to his lectures and you'll pass. He's a great teacher!
He gives a lot of work but it prepares you for the tests and papers. He is extremely helpful and kind.He has a great sense of humor and is cute in his own little way.Very intelligent professor.Be prepared to work and learn!!!
Professor Regan is one of the coolest teachers at PCC. He teaches very well and he will clarify things for you. He is funny sometimes especially when he talks about Burger King. He is also good at memeorizing names. Highly recommend him for Philo 30
Cool ass dude, cool ass jokes. Very understanding teacher.
He is a very easy teacher who teaches very clearly and in a very simplified manner. He is very helpful during office hours.
I thought I did well but I got a B. I'm sad. But he is a rad teacher and I plan to take another class with him.
This guy's great. I absolutely love his humor. He's a great professor and is very attentive to the class' needs and abilities. Totally cool guy. I highly recommend him.
Great professors. He's very funny and energetic and he knows his stuff. I thought philosophy would be confusing. Well, it STILL is confusing (it will remain so, always), but Dr. Regan makes it fun. A very thoughtful and caring teacher. Choose him if you want to LEARN philosophy.
Great teacher!
very funny teacher. he was very helpful if you ever needed any clarification on any of the lectures. if are planning to take logic, take professor regan, he's the best!
He has a brain, and thats good enough for me. If you are frustrated by teachers that you feel you need to teach, then take Regan.
I dont know how or why but over time he looks really cute. hes a great professor, for a 4:10 class its not that boring, easy.. oh and he gives the formats of the test (that doesnt hurt;)
Regan is very intelligent. He is clear, gives a good amount of homework, and makes logic interesting. He is very charming which makes him attractive in a very peculiar way. I wouldn't mind having some alone time with him, to pick his brain over a gin and tonic.
simply said, this professor rocks. he makes philosophy so interesting and had actually inspired me to look more into it. taught me reasoning, logic, the different perspectives of actions, etc. TAKE HIM! HE IS AWESOME!
An interesting class. Reagan is a good professor, and he expects students to learn and participate in class. Lots and lots of homework. Recommended for people who really loves philosophy.
One of the most helpful teachers at PCC. I totally agree, I don't know why but he isn't that bad looking maybe cause he's so nice that, it makes him look cute. Loved his class, even though the material was difficult at times.
Professor Regan is extremely intelligent. I am still in the class, and as of now, it looks as though my 'straight-A' streak may be broken by this class; however, it is worth it. I have learned a lot and would recommend this class to anyone interested in learning to "be more logical."
AMAZINGLY GREAT PROFESSOR. ONE OF THE HIGH LIGHTS OF EDUCATION. VERY HELPFUL AND JUST A GREAT GUY. THE SUBJECT IS HARD HOWEVER FOLLOW HIS GUIDELINES AND YOU WILL GET YOUR "A"
keeps the class going. he managed to keep me awake all semester. pretty clear. emphasis on homework. loves to put students into groups for class assignments.
He's a excellent teacher. Completely clear and interesting. He makes class fun. It's not a free ride but if you do the work you'll be fine. And if you hate Burger King he'll love you from the start =)
Professor Regan is one of the best professors at PCC. This guy really is a true genius. He really knows what he is talking about. The topic in the lectures is very interesting and really makes you think. He is also very helpful if you need the extra help.
--=BURGER KING RULEZ!=-- lol. Or does it? Is there an actual "Burger King." Is it our manifestation? Is it there cooking...when we sleep? Does it have us all hypnotized? Or is it the evil-genius of burgers?!?
I love Regan. I was totallyintimidated by philosophy; I dropped the first class I took with another professor. He's cute and funny and makes things so understandable -- a real delight.
He's one of the best teachers at PCC that I have seen.Strongly recommended to take his class if you want to not just get an A but also learn philosophy. He really knows how to teach. His class is straitforward, clear, easy and fun.Just follow his steps and do your homework and you will get an A.
really good teacher, he gives you notes on what's going to be on the exam, and gives you options of the questions to write on the exam. Pay attention in class and you won't really have to read much since his leactures are mostly out of the book. And he explains it better then the book.
Expect an hr of hw per class/a few pop quizzes/strict attendance policy. To get an A: Be in class/pay attention/do all homework.
Kindest and hottest philosophy prof; he's fairly easy IF you show up AND do the work.
Excellent teacher! Very helpful and wants you to succeed in his class. He makes lectures humorous and explains Philo better than the book. It's not a free ride! So be sure to do homework, study for tests, and show up to class. Never do homework in class or leave your cell phones on!! This drives him crazy! Regan is one of the best Philo instructors
It's so great to learn critical thinking. He makes the class even more interesting.
I may have gotten a D, but this guy is still a cool teacher.
this class is SO EASY. just do the hw show up to class and ur set. whoever put the chili ppr lied. not hot but teaches very well and answers all, and i mean all, questions. logic is a pretty stupid course if u ask me, but regan made it an alright class to take. would recommend taking it if u want an easy class, but attendence is key.
If there is a kinder, more available, more fun prof in all of PCC I don't know who it is. I was SOOOOO scared to take phlisophy, but Mr. Regan just made things so easy. Even though it was easy, I did learn a lot!
ok i had regan too but i have no idea what all these people are saying he is very random, you never know what he is talking about. He is always in his office to help but sometimes his help isnt all that helpful. I RECOMEND him but just read or he gets moody.
oF COURSE He's going to get moody if you don't read! This is college; professors don't babysit you. Regan is a kind and brilliant man; most energetic and thoughtful of all the philosophy profs, and there are some good ones.
Excellent class. Very informative, clear, well-prepared, and relatively simple if you possess even a basic deductive reasoning ability.
This is the best philosophy teacher everrrrrr. Take his class and you'll find the meaning to your life.. LOL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CLASS!
Do the work and pay attention! He is an awsome teacher. He is very helpful. This was a fun class.
Regan's pretty cool, but some parts of his lectures get a bit zzz... Still, the class is pretty easy as long as you do the work and listen to his lectures. I took his class in summer 05. Tests are pretty easy, like 1 per chapter. Be wary of pop quizzes, which are pretty easy as long as you listened to his lectures.
He's a fair professor, tries to explain things as well as he can. The only problem you might run into is Philosophy itself, which can be very confusing. He does get a bit frustrated with students that don't give as much effort as they should. The lectures are good but sometimes you might find yourself falling asleep, so drink some caffeine.
Prof. Regan is a good professor. He tries to explain Philosophy in an understandable way but sometimes you still leave class and go "What just happened?" Do all of your homework and read the handouts that he provides 5x. Short answer tests. Gets frustrated when the class is silent and does not participate.
He's a pretty good instructor for college. He does not take unreasonable excuses from anyone. He treats you like this is realy college and that you are responsible for your own actions. He's a really great logics professor because he made things so clear. I actually liked that class very much. He is a great man and he's funny too.
Good Professor. He really tries to make it clear by providing examples that you can relate to. Make sure you read and do the homework. It is easy to fall behind if you do not show up to every class. Recommend taking his class!
he seems kinda serious but over all a good teacher but frm the first day he gives out homwork ...
hes a great prof.
I dreaded phlosophy before I took it with Regan -- he's a funny, patient man who has a knack for explaining things so well. I really recommend him if you have to take philosphy or critical thinking! If you show up and work, he's pretty easy, but you still learn a lot.
his class wasnt too difficult but if you plan on taking it in the summer dont miss any homework, he grades fair but wont cut u much slack.
he`s a great teacher but Face it philosophy is a bore but if ur gona take the class take it with regan and ohh ya turn off ur phone if u want too keep it haha
Great teacher...very helpful if you are showing effort
He is funny, but dont tell him u like Burger King.
Spring: He's willing to help whenever you're confused about certain things. It's a must to communicate in his class *group works, class discussion, WebCT discussion, etc* He's pretty funny. He tries to make the class entertaining by using these weird/awkward examples. He has those pet peeves like cell phone, sleeping, talking while he's lecturing.
i have never fall asleep during his class even though i was tired. INTERESTING CLASS. he is very helpful. As long as you pay attention in his class, submit all the homework and revise the work, you will SURELY do well!!!
Great teacher. He has good, funny lectures. He makes himself available to students to help them. Class participation is really emphasized in his class. Even though this was a simple class, I feel like I learned a lot about the subject. Just do all the hw assignments, study a bit for each test, listen to lectures, and you will get a good grade.
Good teacher really tries to help you. just do all the hw its not hard.
I was dreading logic, and Mr. Regan made it much easier and more understandable than I thought it ever could be. If you have to take logic then take it from him.

Best philospher at PCC -- great class, very easy to understand, very helpful ---- very enthusiastic about teaching.
COOL DUDE. HIS CLASS IS VERY INTERESTING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
great guy... great teacher
I dreaded philosophy, but Regan made it fun. He is a kind, smart man who takes hard concepts and helps you understand them. You do need to pay attention, but he isn't boring and you will learn a lot. He'skinda cute in an endearing way.
Professor Regan was extremely approachable and helpful. Logic was a class I was dreading taking but he really calmed my fears. When the class would have a difficult time understanding a concept, Professor Regan would always find different ways of explaning that concept until we understood. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.
This has gotta be the best class I have ever taken. Professor Regan made me earn my first A ever! haha. Homework everyday. The homework was very tough at times, but if you take the time to do it and never give up, you'll be better than many people in the class. I call it logic bootcamp. I wish I could accomodate more of his classes in my schedule
if your not a good listener do not take this class. Hemoves very fast, but he's always willing to help, and answer any questions, even if they're dumb. He's always in a good mood, but you do have to work for your grade. Overall he's awesome prof, but the material is bit difficult.
cool teacher try to scared yu away with plenty of hw durin da first week of class....so yu can drop it rite away...he iz helpful.....pop quizzes r when he mak yu repeat tings next day pop quiz...so yea...hw wise yu can bs it...n get a perfect score
He is a great teacher and thankfully not too politically one sided like most philosophy teachers. His lectures are clear and interesting and like so many people say, is willing to help. Make sure you do listen and do all the homework. His tests are very much like the questions from your homework. Fun class to have.
hes so mean
He is a great teacher!
Great!
He looks like a super man, super and pretty good class.
I'm on the fence. He's really good and can engage the students. I was totally interested in the class. Really wants students to participate in class, read the material given, and ASK QUESTIONS. He's pretty easy to follow, fair, and funny. Don't piss him off, though. Great time in this class. Totally recommended.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.. I WAS A BIT CONCERENED BEFORE TAKING HIS CLASS BECAUSE IT WAS DURING THE WINTER SESSION BUT ONCE THERE I WAS GLAD TO HAD TAKEN HIS CLASS, HE IS EXTREEEEEMELY HELPFUL, HE PUTS EVERYTHING IN WORDS U CAN UNDERSTAND.I FOUND HIS CLASS VERY INTERESTING AND WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE HIM FOR ANY OTHER PHILO CLASS THAT I NEED. GOT AN A.
Great teacher; interesting topic! He makes you think. Day 1, he asked us what we 'know' for certain & when all answers were exhausted, he responded, "I know for certain that two cars will go through a yellow light on a left turn." Funny guy. Very tough because assignmts require thinkg. He spots BS answers; so take good notes & read! No short cuts!
He's good looking and he's very good at what he does. I got a C, but because I didn't try a bit harder, he gives you what to study so it's not too hard. Go to class and pay attention, if not he'll get ANGRY! Seriously, but other than that, oh and take notes...a lot! He's fantastic :P
Worst everr...he is reallyy meann and he has his favorites in my opinion, dont take this class and if you do its at your own risk
Logic is great, nut only if you have the mind for it if you don't you'll have a hard time no matter what. He is sometimes funny, sometimes not. Just pay attention and you'll do fine.
Great teacher!! clear lecture!! he is willing to help every student whenever he/she needs!! all u have to do is to pay attention in class and do all the assignments he gives(35% of total score)!! logic class is fun!
I took his class 4 years ago and I still use what I have learned, and NO, I am not a math or philosophy major. He is funny, but serious when necessary. Don't slack off or he will get angry! Don't get him angry, it's not worth it. He is approachable and helpful. Good Luck!
One word - Fantastic! If I had the time, I would take all of his classes. He is a superb teacher. Thanks God for Philip G. Regan!!!
No other professor whom I have taken at PCC has given a comparable load of homework assignments and has actually taken the pain to read and grade them, all in a timely manner. That's what I call quality education! He really puts students in the position to succeed. I'd feel embaressed if I wasn't doing well in his class.
HARD CLASS!!! It get's harder as the semester goes on...Cool professor but subject sucks. Im sorry but logic is not fun
HE IS GREAT. HE MAKE ME UNDERSTAND WHAT IS THE CONCEPT OF PHILOSOPHY. HAVE LOT OF READING, HOMEWORK AND DISCUSSION. YOU MUST DO IT BECAUSE IT COUNT A LOT IN YOUR GRADE. QUIZZES ARE EASY, HE WILL GIVE YOU STUDYGUIDE BEFORE IT. NO FINAL EXAM BUT HAVE A FINAL PAPER, HE WILL HELP YOU A LOT TO FINISH IT.
Mr. Regan is the best. I took him for philo and logic and I aced both. Regan is funny, he is clear, he loves his students and he helps us get through the class. He has wonderful assignments, and homework, great study guides and is open to questions always. Visit him in his office hours and get to know one of the greatest professors at PCC!!!
Reagan is a great teacher. Makes it all clear. Quizzes are easy.Must study for test, but since Lots of HW, you really get it by the time tests come around. He is reasonable and funny.A good guy and teacher. Recommend- you will learn here! I got a B, but enjoyed the challenge and learning experience. Tried for an A, so not an easy class but good clss
I took him during Spring '08 and I honestly thought I was going to fail his class because I always bombed his tests. His tests are difficult, but I ended up getting an A by simply doing all the work, attending most class meetings, and constantly being active on WEBCT! Do an outstanding job with your work, participate in class and you'll get an A!
It's obvious that he's a teacher for all the right reasons. Need to do homework, take notes and review for tests. He's funny, making this somewhat uninteresting subject (in my opinion) much more tolerable. Clearly a good-hearted person who wants his students to learn and do well. I highly recommend you take this professor.
Insane amount of HW. If you can get past that, this is the class to take for critical thinking. Funny and corny, and extremely helpful. Screw ENG 103, you can actually apply what you learn in this class (plus no pre-req). BTW Professor, I love Burger King. I know you do too :). Computer programmers will fly through the symbolic logic chapter :D
not too hard. homework is 35 %. attendance 5%. 20% final 40% exam (4).
Very helpful teacher. He always has multiple examples to give in case anybody needs help or doesn't understand the first example. This was my first class after being out of school for 8 years and it couldn't have been better. A very enjoyable class with a professor who really does care about his students.
A patient and helpful professor with a knack for explaining even the most complex ideas. Do your homework - there is a lot of it, but it will help your comprehension and ultimately your final grade. Prof. Regan never seemed too tired to explain or re-explain a concept; he will help you grasp it, so tell him if you don't understand. He's an A+!!!
This is the only class I look forward to. Regan is a wonderful professor to teach philosophy because he uses many examples to make a point, listens and answers students' questions with respect, and most of all, he is hilarious!
Great Professor he's patient, funny and very knowledgeable.
BEST TEACHER EVER. Makes classes fun and interesting. Easy tests if you pay attention. Lot's of homework but it's helpful. TAKE HIM OVER ANY OTHER PHILOSOPHY TEACHER!!!
I have enjoyed Regan so much that I took him for philo1 & philo25. For philo25 students: There is no need to buy the book, I made the mistake of buying it & have opened it maybe twice. His homework comes from handouts so you don't need the book. WARNING: DO NOT TEXT IN HIS CLASS. It's his biggest pet peeve & he WILL catch you and kick you out!
Mr. Regan is the trillest teacher in the world! He is a serious academic, so dont take his class if you think you can be lazy. He takes time for everyone to understand, so ask questions if you dont know. He's also open to students' interpretations, so feel free to speak ur mind. Hands down one of the best teachers I ever had.
Logic for me was a hard class even though I got an A. He is extremely helpful so don't hesitate to ask Q's in class or at office hours! TURN in all the homework, and don't miss class because you will definitely miss a lot of material. The final is cumulative, but as long as you understood the 4 sections of the class, you can easily ace the final!!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! SERIOUSLY
Very helpful. Knows his stuff. The class is not easy and I'm a philo major. It is entirely based on evaluating arguments. You have to stay on top of it and practice constantly or you'll get behind. He's always there to help and is hilarious!
Regan does an excellent job teaching this course. He is articulate and is extremely helpful. Don't be afraid to approach him and ask him questions. The material will become a bit difficult later in the course, but just be sure to practice your stuff and attend class. BTW, he's hilarious and will keep you entertained!
He is an A prof. He is great at explaining things and he will NOT give up answering your question until you understand. Really helpful! I didn't like that he said "Shut up" to the students who didn't stop talking. They may have deserved it, but I found it offensive and unprofessional. I highly recommend taking his class! THE BEST PHILO PROF!!!
Great professor if you are planning to take philosophy. Not only he explains the concepts really well, he also helps students whenever they are confused. This class is not hard nor easy, you need to do your part on the studying. Overall, this class can be really boring with other teachers, but he entertains his students with jokes and what not.
The only thing i donot like him is her laziness. For the innitial exam,he didnot finished grading until the drop dealline passed.I havenot seen such a lazy professor in my entirely life. But his lecuture is very helpful and crystal. At beinging of the first several weeks, you will be droven crazy by him
Prof. Regan is one of the great ones. Really explains the theories in great detail and wont move on until he is sure the class has a good grasp on the subject. He's always available during office hours for further discussion if you have questions. If you read and take notes in class you'll get a good grade.
I love this professor! He's funny. Nice. He takes the time to make sure you understand everything and he makes class fun and interesting. As long as you do the homework and study you'll do just fine. And he's cute
he's a cool professor that i ever known. Really wish he would teach english 1A. the test is easy, since his lecture are crystal clear, and he really does spend time on explaining the concept really well, that u don't even have to bother with the book. He knows what he's teaching and not too much homework, highly recommended
I took him in the winter, lots of homework, 4 tests, two essays! as long as you do the homework then you will be good for the test, tests are the same as homework, he is super funny and easy going! Ask as many questions as you want and he's happy to answer all of them.
PROF. REGAN IS A FUNNY GUY. HE KNOWS WHAT HES TEACHING BUT HE GIVES OUT HW ALMOST EVERYDAY.ATTENDANCE IS A MUST!.YOU REALLY NEED TO PAY ATTENTION OR YOU WILL GET LOST.HE GIVES OUT 4 TESTS AND AN ACCUMALITIVE FINAL. YOU HARDLY HAVE TO USE THE BOOK, SO DONT BUY IT IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY. JUST GO TO THE LIBRARY WHEN YOU HAVE HW.
Great Teacher. this was my second time taking Philosophy 30 class after dropping Ricards class. his class is much easier than Ricards. He gives you 4 tests and a final! if you come to class, do ALL your homework and pass at least 2 tests your going to pass the class! :) Regan is a funny teacher and helpful too! I recommend him!!
I took Professor Regan last fall. Interesting class, never dozed off EVER. His lectures keep you awake and class discussions are fun and engaging. READ READ READ! And take notes! You'll automatically pass his tests.
Makes what appears to be a boring subject interesting, in particular his logic class. He is one of the best professors around. When you look at the work it may seem difficult but after one of his lectures you will get it. It's impossible to fall asleep in the class, he's always got some funny examples. Great professor.
GREAT TEACHER,IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LEARN IN THIS CLASS, IF I WERE A PHILOSOPHY TEACHER I WOULD COPY HIS FORMAT EXACTLY, SUPER CLEAR, GREAT DISCUSSIONS, HIS TESTS MIGHT SEEM HARD(ALL WRITTEN, NO MULTIPLE CHOICE) BUT ITS A PHILOSOPHY CLASS! AND IF YOU ATTEND HIS CLASS YOU WILL DO GOOD IN THE TEST, HE'S VERY FAIR...PARTICIPATE!
Very clear lectures, very structured class, and very organized! I love going to class and listening to lectures! You really do learn a lot from this guy! As long as you come to class and do the homework, you are almost guaranteed an A on tests! Highly recommend him!
very knowledgeable of the subject, but late on turning back tests. very clear if class participate. clear and to the point. recommend his class if you like to do homework. he collects homework every class meeting and grade them. 4 test and a final. if you do well on 2 test, the homework, and the final, you will pass
Professor Regan is awesome. He makes Philosophy fun and easy to understand. He's funny, smart, sexy and knows what he's talking about. If you show up and do homework you should be fine.
Amazing teacher! He teaches in a manner that you can't get confused. If you do all the hw and attend all class meetings and get the material you can have that A :)
He helped me a lot. Very nice, clear, and funny. He really encourages us to think deeply. There are homework, three tests, and one ethic paper for 4-6 pages. He lets us know what to study and goes over them before test. Take him. Enjoy!
Prof Regan blew my mind away with his way of provoking thought, engaging students, and teaching his subject. His lectures were on point and the book was cheap. He should be the Professor of the year because he helps out students, never talks down to them (unless they are being intentionally dumb), and generally great at teaching student to think.
Very funny. Crystal clear work. Great professor. Take attendance every day so be sure to be on time.
Lectures are smooth, teaching style is great, and he can make class interesting even if he patronizes students. Merciless grader, has no interest in student success, and incredibly pedantic about everything! The most nit picky grader of all time.
Great teacher, my grade is low, because I missed 3 classes early in the semester and completely bombed the first exam. But he a great professor. Funny, intelligent, if you don't understand something, he will explain it until you get it. 3 exams, one big paper. HW is vital to the class. But here is the catch, if you do HW, you'll do great on test
3 written exams, 1 cumulative final. lots of hw. but dont be intimated. This is a easy class compare to Eng 1C. Alternative for writing class if you not a good writer. take attendance every class. pop up quizes. funny guy, straight to business personality type. final was pretty tricky so study more than you think you should.
Prof Regan is, super clear. Very friendly. When we're doing problems, he would walk around, call every one of us by name, and ask if we have questions. The only thing I regret is I feel like he's covering only a small chunk of symbolic logic. But, even with this, some students still don't get the material. Maybe Prof Regan has done his best.
Clear in explaining concepts and examples. His tests are not easy, but as long as you do all the HW, you'll do well. He doesn't provide the correct answers to all the HW problems so it can hard to know if you're doing everything right, but as long as you ask during the next class-he'll do them on the board.
A really cool teacher. Gives a good amount of hw but if you pay attention in class it shouldn't be hard at all. Teaches very effectively and makes sure you understand material before moving on. One of the easiest classes I've taken but not because the course is easy, but because he is a good teacher. Course can get confusing though.
This professor is great, he is hilarious and a clear teacher. He is very clear with his lectures, and never makes a student feel dumb. Just show up to his class and pay attention. No textbook reading needed if you show up. You will definitely pass with a high B or higher.
He is super super funny and he makes sure you understand the material. He lets class out 30 minutes early. Make sure you attend class because he goes over a lot over material. His tests are kind of hard, but make sure you do all your homework.
Easy A, it almost felt like a middleelementary school class. 20 max questions for hw. Goes over the hw at the beginning of class(helps a lot). Tests are exactly like the hw.
His lectures are so easy to understand. He's great at explaining the lesson, willing to help anyone who is struggling, and will push back tests if he feels his students needs more time to study. I aced all his tests and the final isn't bad either. I'd definitely take him again
Really helpful and understanding teacher.
Regan is a great professor. He won't baby you or tolerate any BS in his class, but he is great at what he does and teaches the material thoroughly. He has a sense of humor, likes it when students engage in discussion, and will answer all your Qs. Respect him & the class & he will respect you. Online questions, question sets, tests (response Qs).
Took this class instead of English 1C - best. decision. ever. He has a great sense of humor and really wants to help you if you don't understand. Tests aren't easy but if you DO THE HOMEWORK and ASK QUESTIONS you should be fine! :) TAKE NOTES!!!!! There is a lot of homework, but it is homework and studying in one, it really helps you understand it.
He is a great teacher and his lectures are really interesting. He tries to grab students attention so that they can understand the material better. This class is semi-challenging but he gives a lot of homework which makes it easier to understand the material. This class is a lot of practice but not bad to handle! Take him, you wont regret it.
This guy literally made me laugh every single time there was class. He is an amazing teacher. He is always willing to help and encourages students to visit during office hours. He genuinely cares about being a good professor and even asks for feedback on his teaching so that he can help his students understand more during the next term.
Going into class I wasn't sure what to expect. But it was honestly a good class. Prof Regan is very good at explaining the material and will not move forward until he is sure that everyone understands it. He encourages u to ask questions, specially if u don't understand. Very helpful. He is also funny. The tests were very easy. I liked the class.
You go into class, sit down and listen to him lecture and take notes. He will usually assign homework questions. The concept of philosophy is hard to follow in the beginning but just stick with it and u'll get it. FOCUS ON THE STUDY GUIDE. Only three test and a paper.
I felt like whenever you would ask a question he would make you feel dumb or bad for asking the question, so eventually people would stop showing up and no one would really speak up when they needed help. His grading on exams are really tough, you need to be very specific with your answers. I would not suggest this professor to anyone.
He doesn't upload the grades from time to time, no way to know what you are getting in the class. Only 3 exams and 1 paper due in the end. There are several group discussions and assignments, but not a lot to bring up your grade once you fail to get good grades on the exams. Don't go to his office hours, he often don't show up.
He's VERY clear, the way he introduces new topics is seamless. It's hard to get confused by his lectures. He's very helpful and *actually* makes sure you each understand a topic. If he feels that you don't get something he'll spend the next day on that topic. Easy to ask ?'s. Tests are not hard, you know the material if you pay attn and make effort
It is rare at PCC to find a professor who actually cares if you are understanding the material. Regan checks on you during in-class exercises and will either give you one-on-one help or work the problems out as a class. His jokes can be redundant but he's a dad-type so it is to be expected.
Amazing lecture sessions, extremely clear and great sense of humor
When i first walked into this class, I didn't know what to expect. Just go to class, listen to his lectures and pay attention in class. Also, do the homework even if you don't have the correct answer, he will always go over it with the class and ask questions too. Also, make sure you really prepare for the exams by practicing all the exercises.
Professor himself is a very fun, sarcastic humorous person and he really applies real world examples to his lectures. There are only 3 tests, no final test, but a final paper. The material itself is hard and the tests are all SHORT ANSWER. No multiple choice, so winging it will not get you by. He encourages participation! Ask Questions!
Professor Regan is the best teacher I had during my freshman year in PCC. His lectures are so amazing that I wouldn't mind listening to him all day long! As long as you do all your homework and listen to his lectures as well as take good notes in his class, it is guaranteed to get an A in his class. I hope you guys enjoy as much as I did!
When I first walked into to this class, i didnt know what to expect with a philosophy class. There are roughly 3 exams, and one final. The material and readings are hard at first and exams are all short answers. Make sure you participate , ask questions and go to office hours and you'll be fine.
I really enjoyed Prof. Regan's teaching. At first I was worried he'd be irritating and uptight but he's pleasant and has an excellent grasp on the material he teaches. His tests are fair and you can learn most of what you need to know simply by showing up and listening. I learned a lot and I thought a lot. I recommend him highly.
Really awesome professor. He definitely knows how to make a subject interesting for everyone. I had him for intro to philosophy honors, and he didn't give any extra credit opportunities. He is a tough grader, but only because he wants to push you to really understand the material. There is a final paper at the end.
He's AMAZING! Easily one of my favorite teachers ever, I wish he could teach all my classes. He's really funny, smart, kind, and gives really good explanations/lectures on everything - if you're confused, he really helps you and doesn't humiliate you like some teachers do. The tests are exactly like the study guides! He reminds me of a nice dad.
Professor Regan is an amazing professor. He is very clear in is lectures and really wants you to understand the subject matter and will give as many examples as needed to help you to understand. He's a great lecturer, I was able to take very clear and helpful notes from his lectures. I would take his other phil class if it was apart of my major
There are only three tests and a final essay. There are other "filler" assignments, but they wouldn't change your grade much. Filler assignments are easy to bs. The tests are not. They require AT LEAST paragraph answers that leave no stones unturned. You can finesse an A if you pay enough attention in class and take good notes; reading will help.
This guy is absolutely amazing in my opinion. It's the first class in a long time that I actually looked forward to going to, even prevented me from skipping a class a couple days because I enjoyed it so much. There's a mandatory book, but his lectures cover all the same material, so you don't need to waste the money.
This is my second time taking Prof. Regan's and I do not regret it any bit. He is such an amazing professor. He is very clear in explaining the material. His jokes are also so funny that it makes the class a fun place to learn. Make sure to do all the homework because it will help you master the concepts. Study hard you will pass! :)
Dont.
Hardest thing ever. I'm a phil major and got a D.
difficult beyond expectations.
Instruction not clear enough. Did not seem to care about the individual success of students. Wish he finally learns how to make use of canvas when uploading grades rather than not letting students know their overall grades until the end of the day when your final grades are released.
Professor Regan can seem a little intimidating, but he just really wants everyone to participate. Be prepared to speak in class. The homework is not overwhelming & is pretty easy. All 3 of his tests are not multiple choice. There are questions on the chapter we covered & we have to write a paragraph for them. He doesnt grade too harshly.
such a demanding class, lots of homework and the range of tests are ambiguous.
If I were you I wouldn't take his class. He wants you to be an excellent student who never misses a single thing he requires, otherwise there is no way in the hell you will get an A or whatever grade you need to get from this class.
See if there is any professor that seems to be a better option, if there is, I recommend you take someone elses'
He's a good teacher and is funny too. I love looking at the bald spot at the top of his head when he's not looking.
Mr. Regan was a good introduction to Philosophy. Although I knew nothing about philosophy coming into the class, I enjoyed learning it. You must read the textbook and must show up to class. Participation matters!
Interesting professor with interesting lectures. 10/10 would recommend!
Professor Regan is a great philosophy professor. He knows how to translate certain philosophical topics for us to understand and grasp.
I highly recommend this class to honors students or anyone looking for a good instructor for this intro class. Makes himself available to students, has organized module pages/assignments, and facilitates great class meetings. It had a perfect balance in terms of workload. No unnecessary stress or busywork. Def my favorite class this semester!
Pretty simple and straightforward course, did not make it more difficult than it had to be. Assignments are pretty easy, same with quizzes and tests. At the minimum, the class is not difficult and not really time consuming. Only possible concern is if you like the subject or not, I could see some being turned away because of the course content.
Take him! Hes one of the nicest professors at PCC! His lectures arent boring and it seems like he really cares for his students. Workload is very manageable too. Plus he gives extra credit.
The type of professor you need to have at least once in your life. The most caring, sensitive, and respectful to his students. Super passionate and knowledgeable about his field, you'll get inspired. Made me love Philosophy. Appreciates participation, even if you don't make sense. Deserves the love he gives to students. Unforgettable human being.
He's a great teacher that is passionate about the subject and will do his best to make the class engaging. Weekly assignments/reading assigned that can be completed in about 2 hrs. Tests are free response and he grades them somewhat tough so make sure you study his study guide thoroughly. Only provided one EC assignment. May be an easy A for some.
Professor Regan is one of the best professors at PCC. His class is easy if you pay attention and do the test reviews. His lectures are easy to understand and if you need more info he is prepared to give explanations. He does want people to participate though so be prepared for that.
He is very organized and has occasional zoom sessions before exams. Exams werent difficult just as long as you studied the material and do your homework. The textbook was free and he made philosophy enjoyable.
Philosophy itself is complicated, don't expect to get an easy A if you don't study. Even so, he tried his best to explain the concept and provide extra help if we ever need one. Do HW and participate in the class. If you ever fail the test, don't forget to go through the test with him during office hours so you know what to do for the next test.
Class is just lectures but more discussion based and really interesting if you pay attention. Can do presentations for Extra Credit but doesn't give much time for them. Lectures are VERY important. Would not recommend missing a lecture. Exams aren't that bad if you paid attention in class. Doesn't like students taking notes but you should.
I took Professor's Regan class for Philosophy 1 and I'm glad I did! Advice : Do all the work , submit on time and you'll get a better grade than me! I kept turning in late work(minus points) Professor Regan is opened minded while some professors are so stuck with certain answers being the correct ones. I would take for Phil 2 with him! =)
Regan's Philosophy class has a rote structure of class discussions, question sets, and then after a couple of weeks, a test. It's a fairly easy class so long as you pay attention to the lectures and do the readings.
Very clear on grading and explains the material very clearly so it's easy to understand as someone who has zero knowledge of philosophy. As a busy student, this class was also very flexible and we are given good timing to finish our exams, as long as it was taken within 2-3 days until due. I would recommend this professor anytime.
he's alright... i personally did not like how fast he was during the slideshow and expected us to type so fast. He does give jokes here and there but the grading is hard. we got behind so it was hard to bring your grade up. i wouldn't take him again, i would find an easier professor
Very lecture heavy so take good notes. However, his lectures are directly reflective of his tests and the study guide is almost identical to the actual test. His explanations in class are very clear and though he asks you to read the textbook, the textbook content is almost the same as his lectures with a few extra lessons.
I had a few questions regarding my homework and sent him a message on Canvas which he ignored when it was clearly stated that it would take him about 24 hours on the weekdays and 48 hours on the weekend to reply, and on top of that, he sent out a message to all the classmates include me about following week materials and still didn't reply
I loved taking honors philo with him! He's incredibly insightful & every lecture was thought provoking which had me constantly questioning things further. I'm glad I took him for this course, his passion for the material rubs off on you. Honestly, even tho my major doesn't require it, I would definitely take another philo class with him again!
Professor Regan is great at explaining the material. His class is not hard if you take notes and show up; very nice, caring, and understanding, if you have questions or difficulty he is happy to help you. Very interesting class. This is a class you wouldn't want to miss too many since it's a little bit hard to catch up once you miss the lecture.
takes a while to grade exams which is cumbersome, but he is really great. made me decide to major in philosophy once i transfer. wish his office hours were in person but what can you do. show up, give him your attention, and think... it's that easy
Prof Regan is a great teacher, he explains the material very well which reassured me because I was a bit nervous about going into philosophy for the first time. Prepares you for homework and exams pretty well, which are all written for the most part, so make sure to take notes and study! Sometimes came off as passive aggressive though
Professor Regan's PHIL001H class is engaging and thought-provoking. While the workload can be challenging, utilizing resources like unstuck ai alongside the textbook and lectures makes the class manageable. An insightful experience for philosophy novices.
He's great. Super passionate about the subject and explains material clearly. Very lecture heavy so you don't want to miss many classes, and the lectures are engaging and interesting. This class is much more focused on understanding the concepts instead of just memorizing. Only complaint is that he takes forever to grade tests.
BEWARE! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS whatsoever. He is a nice guy but he takes FOREVER to grade and a few things grade you. He yaps too much in class and it's easy to get lost. His study guides are the exams so study those. He presents information and expects you to remember it within DAYS! Take someone else.
The lectures in class basically repeat the content of the textbooks. three exams in total, all short paragraphs. The questions in the exam are different from the ones given on study guides. The exam will not be returned after you received the grade(and the grading takes so long, like half month), you will not know where you have been lost points.
For an honors intro class, his lecture and workload were fair. He is really clear and defines concepts really well. He cares about participation, so if you don't participate often you may be cold called in class. His exams were not hard, you just need to put in the effort to review. He is a bit of a slow grader, but otherwise helpful and available!
Very easy online class, had a discussion assignment and set of questions to answer weekly which were very easy, I personally did have to pay for a textbook though, tests were very straightforward which consisted of mcq and a written portion, consists of 3 exams and then a final at the end
Professor Regan is great! His instructions are very clear within assignments and he grades them in a timely manner. He offers multiple zoom office hours in preparation for tests and encouraged us to go if we had any questions. I took his ONLINE ASYNCH class, and it is very manageable if you are taking multiple courses, like I am. Would take again!
THIS GUY IS SO FUNNY. His lectures are so fun and the entire class engaged in it. I feel like I learned a lot, I definitely left the class with a newfound interest in philosophy. That being said, make sure to take good notes. Most of your points will come from written test scores. This class was super fun!
