Easy teacher, very nice, class is too long, but it wasn't his fault. Showed some videos and easy tests. He said we shouldn't fret about grades.
Intro to Ed.
Easy, willing to help students, very little homework (except for the field experience)
EASY! He's nice and his tests are easy! My roommate says he looks like Richard Gere, but I don't see it!
Very easy, but long class. Just review the given outlines for tests and that's all. Some work, but nothing very hard. Most difficult part - 15 hours field experience, which is required for this class.
Good teacher, easy grader, requires field experience, but long class. VERY helpful and understanding. Shows videos and has helpful class discussions and debates.
Very nice, very easy prof. Class is long, but he doesn't make it too boring. Def a great pick for intro to ed.
So easy. The only bad thing was being in class for 3 hours. Nice guy. Tests were so easy, easy A.
Awesome guy, really seems to care about his students. Tries to make the best of being in the classroom for 3 hours and tests are easy as long as you go over his outlines! =)
He is a good professor and helps the students as much as possible. Only thing is he keeps you the entire 3 hours and takes attendance every class and twice.
Very very nice man. Always willing to help. multiple choice tests are easy. You have a reasearch paper. Work with groups in class assignments. Have to do 15hrs field experience. Keeps you in class the ENTIRE 3 hours... don't take it at 7:30. Good guy.
Very good teacher and not hard to make an A in his class. Will keep you the whole 3 hours, but he incorporates lectures with debates and videos so it makes it interesting.
he's sucha nice guy and is always making sure u wont be stressed on any projects or essay's. he does keep u for almost the the whole three hours but great professor
THIS CLASS IS SO EASY, THERES NO WAY TO NOT GET AN A. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GO TO CLASS AND DO THE EASY WORK THAT YOU HAVE A WEEK TO COMPLETE SINCE THE CLASS IS ONLY ONE DAY A WEEK, PLUS HES HOT!
Easy class, he keeps you the whole time block.
Really easy class, he's a great really nice guy. Take the class, you'll get an A.
This man is super boring but his class is extra easy ...as long as you read the book every now and then and attempt to do any other work assigned you will definetly get an A
He is so boring that I dropped the class. DO NOT sign up for 730 becuase you will be in there watching stupid videos about nothing for the whole 3 hours. Horrible class, easy teacher.
absolutely delightful human being! always smiling, promotes discussion and "what do YOU think"...multimedia teaching style lends to all learning styles! keeps topics relevant and answers "how does/will this affect ME?" i would take intro to ed II, if there was one and he taught it.
Dr. Koger is a great professor. He always gives you extra time to finish assignments. The class is really easy, just make sure you go every week because he takes attendance twice. The only problem is that he keeps you for the whole time, but you get like a 15 minute break in between
Dr. Koger is a great teacher. The class is pretty basic and can get a little boring at times. He is pretty flexible with assignments, don't forget 15 hrs. in-service. Shouldn't be hard to get an A or B.
he is such a nice person. he never gets angry, and the lesson plans are so easy. i dont even know if he reads the papers bc u can write anything, and he'll like it and give you a perfect score. just do ur service work and ur set with an A. he gives u an outline too for the tests.
Excellent Professor! Extremly helpful, and very layed back. Very easy A, just go to class!!! Extra Credit, lots of videos. Long class, but its only 1 day a week.
This class is boring, do not take this class on a Thursday, or be prepared to stay the whole class in time. Nice guy, knows what he's talking about, but class is just boring. He's very strict with attendance also, but is very lientent.
He's a wonderful teacher. Nice, helpful, patient, extremely versed on the subject matter and understanding. He showed numerous video clips to emphasize discussion and encouraged lively discussions of topics, normal and controversial. Wish all my education teachers were like him. 3 hours fly by!
Dr. Koger lectures but his lectures are very easy to understand and he uses visuals and movies to back up what he means. I usually hate lecture classes but his was interesting and he was very helpful. U have to do a service learning project so be prepared for doing 15 hours at a school
great class
Best teacher..so nice and always willing to help. Knows what he is talking about and will do anything to help you pass
Outlines each chapter you will cover.Allows extensions for papers and other materials to be turned in.A little boring at times. Will use almost the entire 3hr block.Must study to get A's,will ask tricky questions on exams, but no need to actually read text, just make sure you know the outline. Attendance is HUGE.Lots of Ex. Cr. Opps.
Tests are easy if you do the review, which isn't hard. Very helpful. Very easy grader. Class presentations supposed to be 8 minutes, most are 2 or 3 minutes and very bad and he still gives A's on them.
Good professor! He's really clear and really emphasizes what he wants you to know. He's super helpful! Take him if you get the chance!
Seriously Good prof... His class is fun- he's a nice guy- he's always willing to help- lets you make things up/turns things in late. Easy Grader. You watch the coolest videos and talk about the most interesting things. I took his class on a Friday. We got to miss like, 4 days and he always let us go early. Mad props to this guy.
He always keeps you the whole 3 hours! SOOOOO BORING! He covers a lot of the material but a lot of class time is like "story time" from other students and their experiences. He passes around an attendance sheet twice each period so you can't leave early unless you have a friend sign off for you.
Awesome teacher!! You'll really learn all about education, it's purpose and so many other interesting things. Very clear on what will be on tests, which usually cover 3-4 chps. Very helpful, xtra credit oppts. by doing 2 pg. articles to make up for being absent or any other reason. I enjoyed going to class, he makes it very FUN!
Nice guy. Easy class. The exams are so easy, just have a basic knowledge of the material. I'd recommend studying for the first test, and then you will know how LITTLE studying is required, and you will know what kind of questions. Its pretty much definitions. One project. TONS of extra credit in case you don't do well on a test. Great class, easy A
Easy class. but extremely boring. He keeps you for the entire 3 hours. A lot of busy work is done and I agree with a previous comment that the class is a lot like story time. Service Learing is a must.
easy class if you go and stay the full 3 hours, gives pts for attendance, and you can get up to 35 extra credit points, service learning is mandatory, exams are pretty straightforward...definitely take prof koger- hes a nice guy who has enough experience he can guide you as an education major
He is so cool. He lays out the entire Syllabus the first day of class. There is one group project,in which he lets everyone sign up for the topics they want. Service-Learning(volunteering) in elem., middle, or HS required. He takes HW late and always wants his students to pass. Not too fond of the 3hr class once/week, but easy, I made a B in it
Really easy class. super nice professor, lets stuff go easily. its very hard NOT to get an A in this class! i never opened the textbook once. he gives you an outline to go by, and tells you to write notes on that (which you write like 20 words on the entire page) and thats your study guide! definitely recommend!
Prof. Koger is a really good professor! He is very organized and does not like for you to stres out about his class. His class is an easy A as long as you do the assignments you have to do and go to class because attendance is mandatory! If you are taking a once a week 3-hour class..warning he will keep you there the WHOLE time!study his outlines!
Easy class but extremely boring. He will keep you there the whole time but he tries to joke and keep class a little lively. Very nice guy, laid back and does everything to keep you from stressing about his class.
Professor Koger is a great professor! He was a school administrator, so he can really speak from experience. The coursework is crystal clear, and he offers plenty of extra credit opportunities! Every student is required to do just one presentation, and the topics really relate to teaching. Great professor, really cares about his students!
Professor Koger is a great professor! Class was really easy, long but he usually let us out half hour early. No need to buy the book just listen and take a few notes. The tests are very straight forward and a lot is just common sense. There is one small group presentation, service learning project, 3 easy exams, and a lot of extra credit opportunit
He is a great teacher. He knows the information and all the assignments are really easy. There is not a lot of work to do, all you have to do it do it and you will get an A in the class. The tests are also really easy.
Dr. Koger is a great professor. He is a former high school administrator, so he knows what he is talking about. He brings a wealth of knowledge to class every time and you will definitely learn a lot from him. My class only met once a week, so attendance is mandatory as he does take attendance and it is a part of your final grade. He's awesome!
He is an amazing teacher. His tests come directly from the outlines he hands out. Just memorize about all the stuff on the outline and you will get an A. Gives a lot of extra, so much that I ended up with over a 100 in the class. You have one group project and service learning reports.
amazing teacher.
Amazing teacher. I thought he was to nice to some of the students who did not do there work on time.
Such a nice guy!! Very passionate about teaching. Teaches the class like a high school class. Super easy! You don't need the book. Get it if you want to, but it's not necessary at all. Follow his outlines exactly and do the extra credit and you'll end up with 130 points out of 100!
Great and nice professor! TAKE HIM! Plenty of opportunities for extra credit if you even need it. Extra credit if you attend every class. Makes the class interesting and gives you an outline for the exams. I kinda found him adorable.
Take! He's great. Gives out a study guide, tests are super easy, and service learning hours are actually fun.
I absolutely love this class and am now positive I want to go into this field. Koger is such a sweet man, and he tries to help you as much as possible. Attendance is mandatory, but you only meet once a week, plus you usually get out early. the book can help you study for tests. I definitely recommend him... it's almost impossible not to get an A.
Dr. Koger is a great instructor that has a lot of experience in the teaching/education field. He has seen the instructional and administrative side of schools and will be a good resource for you when taking your Education Foundations block of courses. He is always available, flexible, fair and willing to help if there is an issue. A+
I loved Dr. Koger! He is the sweetest man ever and his class makes me excited to start working in the field of education. He has a lot of experience, and he made class interesting. He always let us out early too. The tests are pretty easy as long as you study from his outlines. Take him!!!
Koger was great. Tests are true to outline, attendance mandatory (sign in before/during class), and there is one group project. He has a lot of experience. The class is broken up into lectures, videos and group/class discussion so it is actually interesting. His T.A. Donnie is very helpful as well
Dr. Koger is so intellignet, well spoken, and extremely willing to help students and answer questions. My favorite thing about Dr. Koger is that he was able to answer every question! Such an intelligent, articulate, organized, and knowledgable person!
GREAT CLASS! I would suggest this teacher! Watched a lot of clips to back up the central message. Tests and papers are easy! Gives an outline at the start of each chunk of material. Use this as your study guide for the test and you will be just fine!
Really easy and was extremely nice :)
Honestly the best teacher I've had at UCF. Attendance is mandatory and you can miss one class without getting points subtracted, but if u miss u can attend another class that week and still get credit. Keeps class interesting and as long as you pay attention in class you can get a B without studying!!! Plus cute TA!
Professor Koger is so sweet and really cares about his job. His class is long but he does his best to make it worth being there! Test are pretty easy just follow his outline and review the book. He is there if you have any questions. Great for a intro class. Loved him and is recommended :)
Great professor! Makes learning about subject interesting! If you go to class and take notes, you should easily get an A. He is always willing and ready to help students. Would highly recommend him for this class!
interesting professor, read textbook and you will get an A
AWESOME CLASS. Well structured and very relevant. Nice guy and the visual examples like video clips were perfect. An open conversation vibe. Gives study guides and the final just covers the last few weeks of material. There's service learning hours that are mandatory for the intro to teaching class. (15 volunteer hrs). Assistant great too. :)
This was a great class. Dr. Koger is a wonderful teacher. He is helpful and you know what he expects out of the class. If you follow his outlines you know what will be on the tests. The tests to me are tricky questions and he likes to give "all the above" as an answer. Great class and I would recommend this teacher!
One of the smartest teachers I've ever had. Former school administrator so the perfect person to teach intro to teaching. Elicits good discussions about teaching topics. Coursework is a couple papers, a short presentation, and a couple tests. Would take a class with him again without hesitation.
Really great teacher! Seriously wish he taught more than just the one class! I always recommend him to anyone asking about teachers for this class. Uses lots of movie clips which helped me remember the lectures. Study the notes for the tests! much of the test is taken straight from the power points.
Probably the only three hour lecture that wasn't painfully long. He used personal experiences to make the class fun and he tries to keep things relevant and interesting. Would definitely take him again.
Great class! Professor Koger did his best to make this 3 hour class easy to get through and succeeded greatly! Tests are very straightforward and taken from the power points, lots of easy extra credit opportunities.
Go to class! The points are helpful. The class is mainly lectures with slide shows. You get to do a few in-class assignments with others, but that's it. There's also a group project (pick wisely). The only real problem was the Service Learning hours. If you don't get your hours then you're screwed. NO ALTERNATIVE. Tests are easy, just worded dumb.
He is a good professor, class is long and lecture can get pretty boring. As long as you come to class and do the service hours, you can get an A. Attendance is mandatory but the videos shown in class are asked about on the test. He is helpful and tries to make the long class as interesting as possible with group work and discussions.
HE IS SUCH A NICE PROFESSOR! The class was fairly easy, but you MUST get the book. The assignments are: 3 exams, service learning, 2 short papers, a group presentations and participationextra credit. The exams are a little tough if you aren't reading the book and studying the test outline that he gives out, but if you study, its an easy A :)
3 tests, one group presentation (only 5 minutes), and so much extra credit! I got Bs on each test, 100 on the presentation and ended the course with over a 100% average because of all the extra credit. You need the textbook to study. Such a nice professor but the lectures are really long. 3 hours once a week and he takes attendance twice each class
Dr. Koger is to this day the best teacher I've had at UCF. He's a wonderful person and an even better educator. I only wish I could take his class again
My favorite class. The classes are long, but it's only 1x a week. Tons of extra credit, so easy to get an A. Wish I could have him for every class. Attendance does count. Just review the powerpoints and outlines for test and you will do fine. Great teacher! Learned a lot.
He's the absolute best professor I have had the honor of taking a course with. Strongly recommend anyone to take the course with him. I learned so much with him and will most likely be a better teacher as a result. His tests are not difficult and you have many extra credit opportunities. Show up to class, do your work, get an A.
One of the nicest teachers I've had! The class is 3 hours long but he makes it more interesting by showing videos and through group discussions. There are 3 exams but they are very easy if you review the powerpoints and the outlines. The textbook isn't mandatory but it will really help with the exams. 15 hours of service learning are mandatory
I LOVE PROF. KOGER! He is indeed one of the best professors! He really encourages you and wants you to pass the class. He provides extra credit and encourages you to do them. He even sends email reminders about them in case you forget! The class may be really long but he makes it fun by showing videos and group activities.
Loved this class! Prof. Koger makes an almost 3 hour class a lot easier by varying teaching methods, from lectures to videos to discussions. He gives study guides for each test along with page numbers. There is a service learning required and it was a lot of fun, the process to sign up was explained thoroughly by the professor.
I took EDF 2005 with Dr. Koger, and I would recommend taking his class to anyone in a heartbeat! His lectures were very informative, and I truly learned a lot in this course. There really isn't much homework and there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. The final exam is not cumulative, and he provides outlines for each exam.
Dr. Kogers class is an easy A. Theres three tests (including the final) and I didnt study for any of them. I got Bs on all of them and still got an A in the class. Theres not many assignments and the ones you do have are easy. He takes attendence so go and get the points. Lots of extra credit
Dr. Koger is a nice guy with a lot of experience. That being said, this course is so easy that it shouldn't even be called a class. Lectures are long and sometimes dull. Get ready for "class discussions" with 80 people at once.
The topics are interesting, but the lectures are boring. I only needed to read the textbook right before a test and I only read the sections that he had on his exam study outline. The tests are very straight forward and are mostly common sense. Literally, just do the work and you'll be fine. There are service hours for this class.
He's wonderful! He knows what he is talking about and it was really fun to actually go to his lectures and learn about what he's teaching.
Tests are hard and can be discouraging you dont really know how to prepare for them even following the outline. However its still possible to get an A if you do all the other work and do all the extra credit opportunities even if youre a bad test taker so its balanced in that sense He seems like he cares and is a good professor for the most part
Stay away from this class worst experience ever. He teaches once each week an crams in like three chapters and expects you to know everything following exam day. He needs to go back to being an administrator and not an educator. Not worth the time and effort. Do yourself a favor and ignore this class all together trust me it for the your very best.
the worst of the worst there is no chance in learning in this class he is just unbelievable. you much time on lectures and placing three to four chapters in an exam. hear my warning there is no point in taking this class or listening to what this man has to say. He needs to retire or consider working as something else.
don't go near this class nor allow yourself to be fooled this guy is the worst of them all. He talks nonsense and doesn't know how to grade. He always talks about having been an administrator, but yet he became a teacher. he makes no sense in anything and you will have to read so many chapters and he randomly pulls them out like thin air don't care
This class is so easy! The professor is so nice and cares about what he is talking about. Attendance is mandatory, but he offered ways to makeup for missing class. Exams are very straight forward if you take notes. His notes are posted online. There is not a heavy course load. No homework. Easy to pass.
Usually has around 2-3 assignment due a week. One quiz and one discussion and a couple tests throughout the semester. He usually gives a hundred if you do the assignment, but will have points taken off if you don't respond to others in the discussion. Overall, easy class just do the work.
Very good teaching methods as it was a very structured class with a very easy quiz, a discussion, and sometimes an easy homework assignment due each sunday. Very friendly, respectable, and everything can be found on quizlet.
Pretty basic class and he seems nice. I took it online and there were a lot of discussions, a couple of easy assignments & quizzes, and service-learning. Overall not too hard to get an A if you do the work.
Easy A! Quiz and discussion each week, sometimes you'll have extra assignments that are also easy. Midterm and Final Exam are the only big tests, and quiz answers are straight from the textbook.
This class was the easiest of my course-load last term because Dr. Koger's instructions and deadlines were made abundantly clear. As long as you put in an effort, do the reading, and complete the discussions and quizzes, this class is impossible to fail. I hope I encounter him again on my journey to becoming an educator!
Amazing professor!! Very kind, has clear expectations. The workload is fair and pretty easy for the most part. Just requires effort. Gives very interesting and thoughtful assignments. Learned so much from this class, absolutely loved it. He did research critique articles instead of service learning and I learned a lot from the research.
I took EDF2005 with Professor Koger online. Although I wasn't expecting to be super engaged with it being an online course, this ended up being my favorite course of the semester! Koger seems like a real sweet man. After each week, he'd send out emails discussing his opinions of the topics we were learning which was cool. Easy A. Read the textbook!
Dr. Koger was so caring! His class was super manageable and I was able to finish with a very high A. This class does require 15 hours of service learning, but he gives a large amount of time to complete it. There are also weekly discussion posts and module quizzes, with a few easy assignments mixed in. Read the textbook and you will do well!
