Probably the best profesor I have ever had.KNows the material well, teaches it clearly, and keeps the class interested even when the subject is boring. If we get bored, he just stops lecturing and talks about real life situations. Highly reccomend.

Professor Lau keeps the material understandable, and when he says he doesn't test on anything he hasn't lectured on, he keeps his word. Very easy to talk to, and livens up the class with stories and current events if he notices the material is getting a little too dry.

He explains the material very good,crystal clear.he is very fun,he makes the class go by fast.His pop quizes,the wording is very confusing N on top of that they are timed N its not good cause you feel rushed.if you do the hw you will As the Tests.You dont need to buy the book..just make copies of the hw pages..saves money. Professor Lau is the best teacher in buss. for sure! his teaching style is fun and unique. sometimes off topic but still relate to topics covered in class。 9 quizzes ,2 tests , 1 final and an extremely easy group project. i got an A in that class (the class itself is not easy though, gotta study). choose him if u can, for ur own sake!!

This guy's great. He's fun to listen to, though he tends to go on tangents. Do all the homework because similar problems appear on the exams. Emphasis on the book is minimal, but required to do the homework. He reviews old tests before each exam. He is very clear and uses powerpoint slides as a guide for his lectures.

Hands down, the most helpful professor ever. I learned so much more than business from this guy. You can tell he is a genuine person. Easy quizzes. 10% extra credit with every test. Test are from lecture and homework. He doesn't put anything in the test that he didn't cover in class. Current events are the best. Awesome and very nice man.

great professor. made boring accounting an interesting class. great at explaining, and actually had fun in this class. he gets off topic alot - but most of them fun stories. i regret not taking him for 1A. Wouldve learned so much while having fun if I knew about him earlier.take him for 1A and 1B

HE IS A GOOD TEACHER! I almost believe everyones comments. However, this was my first business class and I had a VERY DIFFICULT time understanding the material. I STUDIED A LOT!, read the book, took good notes, did the hw but I still failed his tests. I did my very best BUT please consider others if business is NOT your strong point.

Lau is great! If you do homework and read the required material, there is no reason to not get an A or B. I studied at the last second and still averaged between 80-86 percent on exams, gives pop quizes so be ready! Good Luck!! and do the homework!

The BEST teacher ever. some people says he's not good teacher. that's because they really don't do what they are supposed to do and just fool around. professor LAU is the best. teaches what you need to know. make everything EASY for students to understand. I highly RECOMMEND taking this professor. His teaching is so clear and understandable that you don't need to read the text book. The book was only used for his homework. If you attend every class and follow his lecture, you'll do great in the class. I've never had a teacher who can explain a subject so well as he does with business.

Lau is a great teacher. I thought it would be overwhelming and I can say I was wrong. His teaching was easy to follow and he didn't hesitate to answer questions and give real life examples. Attend class and do the homewor and you'll do fine.

Great class but it was all Prof Lau. The subject itself can be confusing a lot but Lau does his best to make it palatable. No EC except for in the tests, which help a lot. Med/Easy class IMO. Also super helpful during office hours. Do your HW and study for tests and you will be great. Again, office for clarification and win.

I really recommend this Prof!!! His lectures are very easy to follow and he helps you out when you dont understand a topic. You only use your textbook for hw and you get full credit on hw by just doing it. Only bad thing is that you get a pop quiz so you have to know the topic as soon as he finishes his lectures on the topic. easy A

Best professor I've had at Elco. Very experienced CPA and teacher. Sharp as a tack. Accounting itself is pretty boring, but he made the class very interesting with his stories and insights. He's really fair and straightforward, no BS. Fair exams and pop quizzes, homework is A-for-effort. I'll admit, I worked really hard to get an A.

Professor Lau was a great teacher, he was clear about what he taught and he took time to explain anything people had trouble with. His examples are great and has great stories, he tells you pretty much what will be on the exam, hw just has to be complete to get full credit, and the quizzes and tests are easy if you get accounting.

I really enjoyed his class. The Quizzes are a bit annoying since they're only 10 questions missing 2 significantly affects your grade, but his teaching style more than makes up for it.

I was dreading my first accounting class because I thought it would be boring and difficult, but professor Lau made it interesting and easy to understand. His tests are very fair, no surprises, and gives generous extra credit on tests. He tells tons of stories to connect accounting to the real world.

I transfered to USC and did not have a business professor of the same caliber. All you have to do in Lau's class is pay attention. His interactive teaching style really sticks. Pr. Lau is one of the best! He knows what he is talking about and makes classes interesting. He is tough on grades and attendance. Home work should be done home and checked in the class( not comfortable in case if you did everything wrong) Other than that he is great, take him you want to have fun and learn at the same time=)

Great professor!!! He uses real life examples in his lectures and tries to make the class fun and easy. He is probably the best business teacher at elco!! If u understand his lectures and the hw assigned, its an easy A. However he does give u pop quizzes and he tries to catch the students off guard.

Prof. Lau is a really great and helpful teacher. He relates his lectures to real world and makes sure everyone gets it. There are 10 points quizzes (lowest dropped) on every chapter. Tests are somewhat challenging but he gives 10pts extra credit on each so yay! took him for 1A and 1B and got A's in both. Take him :)

Prof Lau is one of my fav prof listen to his lecture and take good notes. review notes for the quiz that he gives after each chap. he relates a lot to his life and has interesting stories. one thing he takes serious is NO ONE LEAVING WITH THE HW he will take it away for the rest of the sem. it really helps especially as Extra Credit on the test.

Professor Lau is great. He's always on time, he doesn't grade on a curve, and he hands out the solutions to our homework. He's funny and energetic which makes the class fun and enjoyable. Because of his great teaching style I enjoyed accounting and was able to retain all the information. ASK QUESTIONS. He is more than willing to help.

Professor Lau is probably the best Accounting prof you'll find at elco. He cares about the success of his students and teaches his classes in a way that makes the material easy to understand. He shares inspirational stories about life and tries to instill confidence in his students. He wants you to achieve your life dreams, not just pass his class.

Professor Lau is legit. He's originally from New York and I really enjoyed his perspective. Some people complain about his methods of teaching, but they're just looking for an easy grade. If you're a good student and study a couple of hours before a test, you'll get a A.

He knows his stuff. He starts from the ABC of acc. and builds up to the advance level. There is a pop quiz after almost every chapter (10 MCQs). 3 Tests 100 points each, an extra credit question in every test. 1 project 100 points and HW which is online. No Cumulative mid term or final. Attend SI sessions, really helps. Attendance is mandatory.

He was my favorite college teacher by far, i passed the first few quizzes and test but then slacked off during the middle of the semester and by the end i got back on track and i still passed his class with a good grade. Take him if you like professors who teach you by using personal stories that tie into each chapter.

Professor Lau is the best Accounting professor I've had. I transferred now and had to come back and tell everyone how amazing he is. The way he teaches will keep the material in your head for years! Trust me, it's been semesters since I had him, and his lectures are still present. He doesnt make you memorize anything, instead he makes it make sense

Professor Lau is the best professor I had for business classes so far. He is very intelligent, humorous. He knows how to teach hard things in a simple way. He cares everyone in his class, he's willing to help you as long as you show your attitude to learn. You can learn a lot through his lectures and sharing which is very helpful in your life :-)

Great professor. He likes to share his personal experiences', as well as talking about current events. There is a quiz after every chapter, 3 exams (noncumulative), hmwk, and a small & easy group project. He doesn't allow students to be late or take quizzes/exams late. You MUST pay attention and take good notes to do well in this class.

Professor Lau is an amazing teacher! His lectures are very clear and broken down. He makes complex accounting terms very simple to understand and gives many examples. If you like a teacher who actually teaches take his class. PAY ATTENTION in class because if not you will get lost. Definitely would recommend to take!

I would recommend Prof. Lau to anyone who needs to take Bus1A. He is very clear with what you need to do to get an A. His lectures are full of examples and he will help you. The online Hw is my only complaint because it's tedious, but easy points. HIs quizzes are also easy and essentially come from the HW, so do it!

I'm going to keep this short. If you are taking accounting seriously, want to become transfer, become a CPA and work at Big 4, or a respected Mid-tier accounting firm, then he will be your best Mentor and role model and you should definitely take him. If you don't want to learn, play around and wait for an easy A. Take someone else. Period.

The semester course for BUS1A consist of 3 Exams, 1 Final, 8 Quizzes (Lowest score is dropped), LearnSmart, Connect Homework, & an easy 5% Group Project.

Hes a real professor. He dont just teach accounting, he teaches life lessons that apply to the material as well. He gives the class a little mental break from accounting with the stories that are so entertaining but yet still relate to the lecture. He teaches 1+1, and tests you 3-1. Great professor. I believe he is the best one I have ever had in my educational life. Gave me discipline, inspiration, and knowledge to succeed and transfer to CSULB. Took him awhile ago but wanted to rate him for the great inspiration he gave me. He might seem intimidating at first but you learn alot in a fun way. Highly encourage him.

He simplifies accounting and can explain in different ways for you to understand if you ask him. Teaches you some life lessons along the way. Quizzes and tests are mostly scantron. Homework was online, and was somewhat time consuming. Very straightforward in his teaching style, but takes time to tell stories so your attention doesn't wander.

I took Professor Lau for the entire 2018-19 Academic Year. If you want someone that's more than just an Accounting Professor, he's for you. The class itself is fun but challenging. The homework and learnsmart is 20% of your grade, YOU MUST DO IT. YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS. HE WILL DROP YOU AFTER 3 MISSED CLASS SESSIONS.

I went into this class thinking I knew it all. MAAAAAANNNN!!!! Did i get a reality check. haha Still, I am enjoying the class lectures and knowledge that I am obtaining from Professor Lau. He really is one of a kind. To get a taste of the real world is what everyone needs.

If you are a student who likes to study, planning on majoring in accounting and want to get somewhere in life with your major then you will thank this guy a lot. If you don't like to study, and get ahead by manipulating and cheating the system. Wrong person to mess with.

Tough class as the tests are not very easy. His lectures are great because he has personal stories for everything and backs up his logic with real world examples.

Took both BUS1 & BUS1A with him, learn so much. He makes lectures entertaining something that's really appreciated, defiantly won't fall asleep in his class. Hard exams but if you study you'll be ok. Not too much homework, helpful if your taking more than one class.

Professor Lau made me want to become an accountant. Enough said. He has lots of "story times" during his lectures which makes them really fun, and never makes you feel stupid for not knowing something. If you put in the effort, he'll get you there. He also gives lots of advice that is really good to know in everyday life. 100/10

Prof. Lau is a great professor, he genuinely knows what he is talking about and he pushes you to stay up to date with the world of econ. Easy C, tough A. READ THE BOOK before lecture or you'll fail. Great professor, tough teacher, he will test your skill and comprehension on the material, Mang Acc is a hard subject and he doesn't make it as easy.

I took BUS1A and BUS1B with him. Tough subjects, but Prof Lau explains it in a way you can easily understand. I don't recommend missing a lecture because not only will you fall behind, but you'll miss out on his life lessons too. He's funny, entertaining, and genuinely cares about his students. Do the homework and you'll be okay.

Professor Lau is great. He thoroughly explains every topic during his lectures and he goes over examples that are directly related to the homework and exams. You can't miss a lecture because you will miss an easy explanation of the topics vs a dense read from the textbook trying to figure it out yourself. Take him for 1A you won't regret it!!

If you don't like self-study take this class. Just sit In the class and take notes. You don't need to study by yourself at all but you have to give so much time for homework. You will forget about cheating and you will understand all the lecture with his instruction in the class. A GREAT INSTRUCTOR. The class is fundamental accounting.

Absurd amount of hw and smartbook reading. Made the class so you have to do either or to barely pass.Exams are similar to the smartbook and hw problems. Lectures are good but sometimes goes off topic. Don't be late because he locks the door after class starts and won't let you in and marks you as absent. Bad handwriting so sit in the front of class

GOAT. All the questions on the test are topics/ problems he goes over in class multiple times, if you take good notes you'll do well. The homework is a lot, but it is also similar to the tests. He will often share a lot of his personal stories/ side pieces of info that are very interesting. Take his classes!

I took Honors Calculus in high school, and his math113 is the exact equivalent. I like the fact that Prof rewrites material and problems and even solves them out with the class on the board. To me, Lau made math fun and entertaining. I would absolutely take him again as a professor!
