Material can be tough, though if you followed his class text (On web) should have no problem completing and doing well on assignments. No tests, just papers.
Uses humor to teach. I found that that helped me remember things better. It was a fun class.
He's an excellent professor, who is very passionate about what he teachs. Thanks for clearing up a lot of confusion in my head!
A truly passionate&engaging professor. He doesn't preach his knowledge,he presents u w/info&allows u to come to your own conclusions. There is absolutely no need to mindlessly memorize & regurgitate facts in his class. He is pretty damn funny too...
Kept an eve class interesting-didn't think of sleep, very funny & thought provoking, would take other classes taught by him lots of papers but fair grader. Nevr preachy and nevr put down other views if they're well thoughtout arguments Memorable class.

He used humor to create an interesting and fun teaching environment. Although there were a number of assignments due throughout the course, he was very lenient with the quantity of the papers, as well as lateness.
Uses effective teaching strategies and some humor to get the point across. Work load can be a lot, but you learn loads from it. He allows you to re-write assigments which helps the learning process. Friendly and approachable. :)
I LOVED this professor!! Great teacher, VERY interesting classes, lots of papers but made deals where he droped a paper if all were in. Fair grader-online text. Not judgemental. I wish he was teaching at Queens- I would love to take him again!!
Great learning experience!
Really cool teacher, different kind of perspective.. you'll look at things a lil different after his class
Interesting class, a lot of reading, but easy assignments, and he lets you revise them.
HE's a great professor to have. The class was nicely conducted. The assignments and requirements were reasonable. The class was very knowledgeable and equipt with information much needed out there in the real world.
He is what you hope for in all of your professors. He knows what he's talking about and he's easy going. If there is a class he's teaching, I'd take it! He's awesome!
Awesome professor, he doesnt just stand in front of the class and lecture, he actually makes you interact and puts things in words you can actually understand. Which is a miracle for a philosophy class. The work is lengthy at times, but very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him!!
he's a cool teacher and can really make you feel comfortable BUT mind you i did extensive reading and spent exta time on assignments and all he cares about is whether or not u answer the question. His grading system is horrible. You can basically copy and paste the assignments. And he doesn't teach everything in depth. Buy the textbook!!!!
A very interesting class. Good delivery but I wish he had made class more interactive from the beginning. A lot of reading and I spent a lot of time on assignments (but that's just me). Good part -- no tests or projects and you could revise your assignments. If you kept up with assignments there were lots of opportunities to get bonus points.
INCREDIBLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE..ABSOLUTLEY NO REGRETS IN THIS CHOICE. PRIVILEDGED TO HAVE THIS PROF.
I truly enjoyed the lectures and looked foward to every class.
He is an awesome professor. He makes class fun and he explains everything very clearly. There is a lot of reading and writing required, but if you are interested in the class you wont mind it. This class will change the way you look at the world, its awesome! Highly recommend!!

Professor Pecorino is really good because He is going to find a way to help you understand the point.
Very exciting class, and an extremely great Professor. I'm actually depressed that its going to end. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Really good teacher, always helped understand just what the wanted to prove to us. I really enjoyed this course, it was the best one I took this semester. Im hoping I have another class taught by Pecorino.
Great professor, made the topics fun and interesting. It was always a pleasure to attend. I would take any course he's teaching.
very helpful, understanding, all around great teacher.. 3 hour classes went by fast and methods of teaching were great.. thank you for a great semster
As the intellectual compass in our great country points south, Dr. Pecorino may help sway it back to north. His class was not only intellectually invigorating, it was a true testament to human reason during an age of ubiquitous unreason. He is bright, clever and keenly well-informed about the subject.
This man is easy to please. All you need to do is do the work. This is not an easy class by any means so don't think it will be a walk. Dr. Pecorino is brilliant and a trip. Outstanding sense of humor and wit. You will look forward to the next class and be disappointed when it's over.
He is an honest and helpful teacher. I would recommend others to take his course.
Great Professor. When I first got in the class I thought he would be very one side in terms of which religion was right or wrong, but he wasn't he just put out the issues it was up to me to make my decision. All he cares about is if you gave your opinion some thought. I would take a class with him again.
Professor Pecorino is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever encountered. He is very knowledgeable and always knows what he is talking about. Attending class and doing all the assigned work is a must, but it's all worth it, because in the end you'll have learned a bunch.
This class was very well taught and fun for the subject matter. The professor did a wonderful job not offending anyone or their beliefs and made the class enjoyable while doing it.
I was never interested in philosophy until I took this course. Professor Pecorino is an outstanding teacher. He makes you want to learn. I hope to take another course with him next semester.
great guy, very liberal
This class was very interesting. The text book is online so it?s free. The professor makes the class very entertaining. There is at least 2-4 hours worth of home work a week. Over all I would definitely recommend this class.
I had him for 101 and 110 in summer 09. The best Professor you will ever have. Expert at what he teaches.
If you are interested in philosophy this is the teacher to have
great Professor. Took him for a summer course and was awesome. makes his classes fun and interesting. knows how to be serious and joke around at the same time. one of my favorite professors. wish he taught at my college!
The professor was great. Most of the assignments require you to read the textbook which Is online so no need to pay 100s of dollars on books. So overall great class.
Great Professor who delivers great lectures. Recommend this class 100% to every person going into or going to be treated by a healthcare professional. This is one of those classes that the content will stay with you for a lifetime.
This course made me question my assumptions and explain why I believed different things. It made me think about ideas rather than just believe them. Prof. P. presented the basics of each unit with humor and insight. A ton of homework, but worth every minute spent researching and writing. If you put in the effort, this is a very rewarding class.
GREAT TEACHER, MAKES IT INTERESTING AND UNDERSTANDABLE WHEN TEACHING. HW IS REALLY LONG AND ANNOYING. BUT HE LETS YOU REVISE IT.
First I want to say, I HATED the idea of philosophy before this class. But Prof. Pecorino has changed my ideas about life with his teaching of philosophy. BEST TEACHER at NCC BY FAR. It may seem boring and a lot of work at first, but do it and you'll get so much out of it. The class will change your life. Got an easy A
Phil Peccorino is an asset to NCC. I really enjoyed this class and I learned a new way of thinking. I know that this is one of the classes that I will look back on and remember with a smile because I enjoyed the professor, the content is interesting and pertinent to my life, I enjoyed my classmates..... Monday evenings just won't be the same.
Great professor! Highly recommended.
Great professor, very easy to work with, makes class interesting and enjoyable.
awsome teacher. makes it easy to understand the subject matter. Home works depend on your grade. No tests. Homeworks are long sometimes hard to understand
Great teacher and sense of humor. He will make this class as fun and understandable as possible. Only bad thing was the homeworks were so long and hard to comprehend, but overall an awesome teacher!!
Really cool guy. Interesting too. The assignments might seem hard at first but as you go through them, you find that it doesn't take long at all, and he is a really easy grader. I would certainly recommend this Professor Pecorino!
You will enjoy his lectures. He likes to play the devil's advocate to push you to think critically. For HW, short answer questions with quite a bit of reading but you won't need to buy the textbook - it's available online. No tests or essays. This course will analyze different beliefs (including yours) so don't take it too personally =). Have fun!
Prof Pecorino is excellent
BEST PROFESSOR. YOU MIGHT WANT TO DROP IT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CLASS BUT OVERALL YOU WILL LOVE IT IF YOU FINISH THE COURSE. A LOT WORK LOAD BUT WITH HIS HELP YOU CAN DO IT. I WILL RECOMMEND THE CLASS FOR ANYBODY
Very knowledgeable and may the course relevant. Lots f reading, but was well worth it.
He's the best professor I had so far. You know what you have to do from day one. Grading system is great.
Below average. The professor has his own views that he tries to impose on students. I passed but it was no fun. Take someone else for philosophy.
Hands down the BEST teacher I've ever had. Attendance in this course is MANDATORY, he gives 10 pts everytime you go to class which are a part of your grade. If you end up missing 3 classes, you'll receive an automatic F. It's a tough course so be ready to read and pay attention throughout the lectures. It was tough but I banged it out with an A.
I took BioMedical Ethics online, and Professor Pecorino sets it all up for you. It may seem intimidating at first but stick it out you will learn so much and it's nice to have a professor that cares.
When I saw the syllabus, I almost dropped the class. I thought it was going to be a tremendous amount of work. It was a breeze! Do the assignments and answer the discussion questions and it will be an easy A!
Professor Pecorino is a wonderful professor I took is online class and I thought I was going to fail but all you need to do is do your assignments, participate in the led disscussion and log on the amount of times he ask you to and you will pass his class. He is a very educated and understanding professor. You will learn alot by taking his class. g
Can't lecture for his life. Hard grader and lots of homework
Professor Pecorino was the best professor I had all semester! He's intelligent and personable. My class met once a week for 3 hours at night but there was never a dull moment. You earn your grade by writing papers but it's not overwhelming. You also need to be in class but you wouldn't want to miss it anyway.
You actually have to do work. And people feel like if you do an online class, you should be entitled to do less. Not the case here. But, if you do the work, and you put some effort. There's no way you can fail. You can track yourself to see what you are projected to get in the class. Which makes it easy.
Overall a good teacher since he will engage you with life scenario.
This is the most useful course to take, it uses real case scenarios, and will be applicable to everyone's real life situation. Professor Pecorino gets straight to the point, he'll let you know if you're not submitting homework correctly, and will guide you in the right direction, but don't expect any coddling!
one amazing professors who truly cares about all is student. He stood out because his lectures are very interesting. The structure of the course was well organize and clearly delivered. text book is free lots of extra credit. it is not hard to get an A. you must come prepare to learn and do the assignment. i would recommend and also take it again .
Lots LOTS of work; but it is all very easy if you literally just read. He gives you enough material so that you don't have to buy the book which is great. JUST DO THE WORK and you will definitely pass. I slacked off and was failing and by the end of the semester I ended up passing with a grade I did not think was possible to get. DO THE WORK!
Wow. He was the best professor I had that semester and probably ever. Each class was something different and when he did his "BIG" class surprise, it was well worth the wait. "Tip: Don't get mad at him afterwards). Be prepared to THINK. Be prepared to LEARN. Don't expect an easy A if you aren't gonna work for it. READ THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK!!!
Found this Professor to be quite intriguing. His use of ethical issues and the decision scenarios provided in class discussion really was an eye opener and illustrated just how many issues are seen in healthcare today. His YouTube videos based on modules for the course are even more engaging and interesting. Would take him again.
This professor is great. Gives feedback whenever a point is taken off or the information written had little or no clarity
I feel like it's hard to fail because he gives you such clear guidelines of what he is looking for in homework and for class participation. For each chapter you can get a certain number of points so you can easily keep track of how you're doing in his class and what your grade will be with the quality and quantity of work you're putting into class
By far one of my favorite Professors so far, he genuinely cares about what he is teaching and goes the extra-mile to make sure you understand what he is explaining. He is a very caring person and takes your personal issues into account when grading. YOU MUST READ THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK. If you do not, your grade will reflect this. He's also very funny
Everything was laid out clearly so there werent any tricks. Do your assignments, case studies and participate in the discussion board. Expect to read a lot but learn a lot as well. You can do no wrong as long as you spend time on the work and put in the effort. Even gives his own textbook. Best class ever!
This professor is very fair with grading. Once you put in the effort and follow the syllabus you will pass his class.
During this class I tried to apply good ethics to my everyday life and will try to do so going forward. It also confirmed what I already knew that people are mostly egoist.
I took Professor Pecorino online and he was great. I like he was very organized gave us the syllabus and stuck to it. There were no surprises you knew exactly what you had and you were graded weekly. There is a lot of reading, an assignment at the end of each week, and case studies too. There was a lot of work but this class was very informative
This was my first online summer class and Professor Pecorino was great. He gave students clear instructions about what is required and how to do well in his course. He also gave 2 bonus assignments so I would definitely take him again.
Confident in arrogance and untouchable demeanor. He has an openingly insulting tone and rude. Majority of links are outdated or not working. Is this a real 2019 college class? Along with an obscene about of grammatical errors in his online book. How is this allowed? He responds to you after repeatedly contacting him about the same issue. Don't take
Great Professor!
Loved the course, is a great subject and the professor interacts very well when needed.
This class consists of lots of reading. Also lots of short writing to establish your understanding of material. Participation is everything. Your graded weekly so there are no surprises. He gives opportunity for bonus assignments. He is a great communicator. He created the text book and its online free. If you apply your self the class is easy
He was great. He is very thorough. He tells you exactly what is expected and gives outlines of what your work should look like. He created the textbook and gives it PDF format for free. He gives chances to do extra credit assignments. Participation is required and an easy grade booster. If you are willing to put the work in your grade will be good.
Very educated professor. I expected more structure in this course. The homework was redundant. No lecture, no zoom, just loads of work, 5-10 discussion board posts a week, homework assignment, lots of reading, case study. If you do the work, you will pass but Its quantity over quality. I got an A and still hated my time in that class.
Professor Pecorino was great! I had him for Biomedical Ethics, the textbook was free online. There are weekly posts and assignments but no exams. All you have to do is stay on top of the readings and posts and you will be fine.
I had Professor Pecorino for Biomedical ethics and he is fantastic. Stay on top of the reading, daily discussion and assignments and you are good! Everything is fair game.
Loved this class! I learned a lot but it wasnt easy. Expect to spend a lot of time on this course. Self teach/read a lot! 6-10 discussions as well as a written assignment due every week. Towards the end of the semester assignments became repetitive. Dont take this course if you dont have the time.. but a lot of wiggle room to pass the course:)
Best professor in NCC, He replies to emails right away, when you need help he is there. A LOT OF READING but it's a college class so that's not to a surprise. TAKE HIM AND YOU WILL LEARN!!!
Great class and professor, as long as you actually read the textbook you'll be sure to pass. Everyday participation matters so don't take this class if you don't have the time to give it your full attention.
You would love this professor! He is one of the people that will give you immediate feedback if you did something wrong on any of the modules. There is extra credit you can do to bring back up your grade. There is reading involved but the reading is enjoyable. Take this professor, you won't regret it.
Prof. Pecorino teaches you a lot about ethic principles that you will use for the rest of your life. I enjoyed his lectures, and real life stories. There are weekly assignments and readings but they're easy if you follow the directions. He gives feedback and chances for bonus points to help grades. Def recommend! He was awesome!
Very good professor
VERY HARD CLASS! HAD TO WORK REALLY HARD TO GET AN A! YOU LEARN A LOT BUT IT IS VERY TIME CONSUMING AND I DO NOT RECCOMEND TAKING IT WITH MULTIPLE CLASSES. HIS ONLINE SYLLABUS IS NOT ORGANIZED BUT EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS ON THAT SYLLABUS. YOU HAVE TO fully read through everything. NO QUIZZES OR EXAMS. A LOT OF DISCUSSION BOARD ASSIGNMENTS.
Great class with Prof. Pecorino. Lots of reading, but it's manageable if you stay on top of it. unstuck AI was super helpful for study prep. Definitely recommend this course!
Professor Pecorino is a genuinely passionate and inspiring teacher, especially for an introduction to Philosophy class. Truly, the grading criteria and workload are very simple, and he works with you for any problems or confusion you have. I highly recommend taking this class if you are even a little interested in the topics of Philosophy
Professor was clear, engaging, and really pushed us to think critically. The modules were well-organized, and the content challenged my beliefs in a good way. Feedback was thoughtful and helped me grow. Definitely one of the best professors I've had—highly recommend this course!
wwwwwwwwww
Although he gives a lot of materials, trust me, they have very valuable information that will help you. This is a good class and Professor to learn Bio-Medical Ethics.
Great professor. Be ready to put in hours. However, it's worth it because of how much information you can learn and apply to professional and daily living.
